Chat with Dan Graziano

Dan Graziano
  (12:00 PM)

Good afternoon, fine denizens of the NFC East blog, and welcome to this week's chat. Per the results of a weekly Twitter contest held 10 minutes ago, the first question this week will be about the Giants.

@Geeeeemen (NJ)

Hey Dan, I followed u from twitter to chat. Do you think the Giants need to offer Steve Smith #1 receiver money? He's clearly Eli's most reliable and consistent target, but Nicks is the #1 and Smith is coming off major knee surgery.

Dan Graziano
  (12:02 PM)

The top receivers in the league are making what? $10 million a year? If Smith wants that, especially coming off an injury, I think he's out of luck. I agree with you that he's not the superstar WR1 that guys like Andre and Calvin Johnson are. He's a perfect fit for the Giants, a reliable target for Eli, and a guy whose value they should recognize but not over-estimate in negotiations. He'd be wise to realize how well he fits there, too, and not try and go find WR1 money elsewhere. Mutually wise for both sides to work something out, and yes, at lower dollars than $10M per year.

Andy (Reid)

Do I really trade my good backup and pray Michael Vick doesn't get injured?

Dan Graziano
  (12:03 PM)

I'm on record as saying I wouldn't, but I wrote last year that you were bungling your QB situation from summer right into September. You were right and I was way wrong. I imagine, if you deal Kevin Kolb, you'll find somebody to put in for Vick in the 2-3 games he misses because of injury.

Jason (DC)

Dan,Thanks for doing this chat. Presumably, the Redskins will have to bring in a veteran QB to compete with John Beck this season. Who do you think is the best choice for this role? Alternatively, is there any chance in the world that they could pull off a McNabb and Haynesworth for Palmer trade? Only in my dreams, right?

Dan Graziano
  (12:04 PM)

Not sure Palmer's in the picture for the Redskins, much though I think he should be. If they did get him, I imagine it'd be to start, and not be Beck's backup. Nothing we've heard indicates they plan to be in this off-season's QB market. So while they could be sandbagging us, there's a decent chance it's a training camp battle between Beck and Rex Grossman.

Anthony (Toronto)

Dan, do you sense that the Cowboys will target the Safety position over the Cornerback postion once free agency begins? And if so, who are some players they may target.

Dan Graziano
  (12:05 PM)

Yes I do. The names most commonly brought up when this is discussed are Oakland's Michael Huff and Philly's Quintin Mikell, but they have many options and, I'm sure, a long list of targets.

Brian (Austin, TX)

Hey Dan, gut reaction: Is the season going to start on time?

Dan Graziano
  (12:06 PM)

For the first time in the past two years, my gut and I have begin to believe that it will.

Dave (NJ)

Call me crazy, but I like the idea of Haynesworth in Philly.

Dan Graziano
  (12:07 PM)

You are not crazy. I think the Redskins would be crazy to send him there. Their new D-line coach was his D-line coach in Tennessee. Could be a huge rebound for Haynesworth if he goes there.

bill (north hollywood)

although both are obviously important, which do you think matters more when looking at dallas' future success: improving the pass rush or improving the secondary? thanks!

Dan Graziano
  (12:07 PM)

Secondary.

Shai (NJ)

Do u think Plax maybe should have waited more than 1 week out of jail before criticizing Coughlin?

Dan Graziano
  (12:08 PM)

Yes.

Fat Al's Biscuits (Lazy)

Will the Redskins look for a Guard in FA or are they content with Montgomery and Lichtensteiger? And do they resign Jammal Brown? Thanks.

Dan Graziano
  (12:09 PM)

Big issue for the Redskins, in my opinion, is the continued rebuilding of their offensive line. All the talk about Beck at QB seems to neglect this aspect, and I think it's an important one. They need to solve RT, whether it's by bringing back Brown or signing someone else. I think they want to see how the guards do given another year there. And they want to keep Trent Williams healthy on the left side, which may be the most important part of it. They have needs on defense and at WR, but I wouldn't be shocked if they addressed OL in free agency as well.

UberSamoyed (Frisco, TX)

"He'd be wise to realize how well he fits there, too, and not try and go find WR1 money elsewhere."Odd conclusion. He shouldn't even try to find WR1 elsewhere? Why did you say that? If he can find more money and a similiar good fit, then why is it unwise?

Dan Graziano
  (12:11 PM)

Because I believe he'd be a poor fit as a WR1 for someone, like the Rams or Browns, who needs a bigger downfield threat in that role. I think he could get exposed in a place like that. Now, that being said, if someone wants to pay him like a WR1, I wouldn't advise him to turn down the money. But if he's looking to leave NY, I'd advise him to be careful what he wishes for. I think he's in a pretty great spot where he is.

brendan (DC)

What would you do? Go with Beck have a 25% a .500 season and 75% chance of getting Luck, Landry or the USC QB (can't think of his name) or spend money to bring in a washed up QB that will give you hope?

Dan Graziano
  (12:12 PM)

Guy's name is Matt Barkley. And given where the Redskins are right now, I might well choose the first plan. Next year's draft is stocked with QB talent, as you say. If Shanahan thinks he's more likely to find his long-term QB solution in the 2012 draft than in the 2011 free agent pool, then he's wise to avoid spending assets on a potentially disappointing veteran for a second year in a row.

CJ (VA)

Dan, do you think Dez Bryant will have a breakout season this year for the Dallas Cowboys?

Dan Graziano
  (12:13 PM)

I do. I think he's got the ability. If he's stays healthy and out of the malls, I believe he has superstar potential that could show itself very soon.

Chris (NY/NJ)

Is Maclin a WR1 over DeSean? He resembles Mike Wallace in terms of his development in that he's bigger than DeSean, runs his routes pretty well, and still can go burn for the deep ball.

Dan Graziano
  (12:15 PM)

Physically, and in terms of the way they use him, I completely see your point. He's liable to catch more balls than Jackson (as I'm pretty sure he did last year) and be the more traditional WR1 while Jackson acts as the home run-hitter. But don't underestimate Jackson, who's the more established player and right now the better one. Maclin has the tools to surpass him, but I believe they work very well in tandem and will do well to ignore outside "rankings" that may be assigned to them by others.

Rockin' Hank (New York)

Most likely candidate to be the Giants starting strong side linebacker... Sintim, Kiwanuka, or a free agent not yet on the team?

Dan Graziano
  (12:17 PM)

Now I may be the crazy one, but I have to believe they'll finally bite the bullet and bring somebody in. They've ignored the position two years in a row, and their weakness in the middle of that defense really shows up in some games. The Eagles, in particular, gain a lot of yards against them in that part of the field. I guess Kiwanuka could do it, but I don't know that I'd bank on it.

BSB (Philly)

Dan, Why would any fan base advocate tanking a season so that they have a possibility of drafting a guy who may or may not turn around your franchise? Who could possibly be that desperate?

Dan Graziano
  (12:18 PM)

This keeps coming up, and I assume you're talking about the Redskins and the QB discussion. Nobody is saying they should "tank" a season. But they need a long-term solution at QB. If they don't think that's available to them this year, why not conserve picks and other resources to make sure you're able to get the guy you need next year? Even if they don't finish poorly enough to get one of the top QBs in next year's draft, if they save those resources now, they could be in a position to move up.

st8prop (Atlanta, GA)

DG...name 3 owners in the NFL that are worse than Synder in terms of personnel and coaching decisions. NOTE: Can't use Al Davis as one of those 3 LOL

Dan Graziano
  (12:19 PM)

Why not??

Dan (Washington, DC)

In regards to the LT discussion from the blog. I want to get your opinion on something the formulam misses: level of competition. For example: would Okung be ranked as high as he is if he had to face the pass rushers Williams did?

Dan Graziano
  (12:20 PM)

Yeah, I think they make it pretty clear that it's just one aspect of analysis, and not meant as a comprehensive guide to which guy is the best. Worth discussing, of course, but not the only point worth discussing.

Weech (Santa Barbara, CA)

Dan, with the arrival of Tyron Smith to Dallas, I see this being a huge step towards prolonging Witten's career. With the young WR's in Austin and Dez and Romo still chomping at the bit, I think we see Dallas truly start to build inside out in the coming 3-4 years.

Dan Graziano
  (12:21 PM)

Interesting point, Weech. If they like their core of talented skill-position guys, they'll be less inclined to reach for those kinds of guys in the draft and the off-season. Using the first-round pick on a tackle was, as you mention, a good sign in that respect.

Borna ((Croatia))

How important is the second corner to the team looking for CB help? Even if you shut down half of the field, that just means you double the load on the other half... And from that perspective, who should and shouldn't go after Asamugha?

Dan Graziano
  (12:23 PM)

Love Croatia checking in....Borna, I agree with you. Having one stud at CB shouldn't preclude a team from going after another one. Rex Ryan and the Jets brought in Antonio Cromartie last year even though they already had Revis. If you have two shutdown guys like that back there, it really eases the load on the rest of the defense. I don't know if there's a team in the league that can sit there and say it couldn't use Nnamdi.

pete (new jersey)

Hey dan which nfc east qb would u take on your team. Short term and long term?

Dan Graziano
  (12:24 PM)

Short term: Vick. Long term: Romo, by the slimmest of hairs over Eli. (cue the anger....)

Damien (Philadelphia)

Jamie Dukes said last night on NFL Total Access that both the Eagles starting WR's were choke artists. Now even as an Eagle's fan I can say he might have a point with D-Jax, but considering that in Maclin's two playoff game starts he caught 10 passes for 219 yards, and a TD, to me that does not seem like a choke artist. He later goes on to say in the Playoff game against Dallas, That Maclin was no where to be found. Yet if my memory serves me right, Maclin was just about the only Eagles Player that showed up to that game.So my question Dan is do you agree with Dukes on Maclin, or do you think he is unfairly lumping D-Jax and Maclin together?

Dan Graziano
  (12:25 PM)

I think he's unfairly labeling young players who are still growing into their careers, and I wouldn't pay it much attention.

Dan (PA)

Favorite East stadium?

Dan Graziano
  (12:26 PM)

Cowboys Stadium is just unbelievable. I expected to be let down because of all the hype, but it's unlike anything I've ever seen. Spectacular. Second place, for me, is Philly.

CerealKiller (Jax)

I read your post about "pass-blocking efficiency" and it immediately made me think two things. 1.) Can a stat like that ever possibly account for a QB like Vick who leaves the pocket so often? and 2.) Can you give us some numbers on the Eagles RT tandem of Winston Justice and King Dunlap for last year? I'm just wondering if they were really as ineffective as they seemed to be. Also, the Eagles, especially at the end of the year, seemed to struggle against CB blitzes from the slot (see week 16 loss to Vikings). Is this anyone in particular's fault or is it a scheme/ teamwork/ communication issue?

Dan Graziano
  (12:26 PM)

Actually, if you click through on that post to the Pro Football Focus page I linked to, you'll see that Dunlap graded out pretty well among RTs.

Jake (Cape Town, SA)

Dan, should the teams lose their starting RBs who's offense struggles the most/least?

Dan Graziano
  (12:27 PM)

I like that question. Eagles maybe the most, since they really don't have anybody behind McCoy. Giants maybe the least, since Jacobs has been a starter before and showed last year he can still handle it in small doses.

pete (new jersey)

Dan should the cowboys start tyron smith on the left or right side

Dan Graziano
  (12:28 PM)

Right side, as I believe they will. Free did nothing last year to deserve to lose his spot at LT, and starting a rookie at RT will help ease the pressure on him.

Jon (NY)

Eli over Romo? Romo wont even last this year in Dallas(if they play)!

Dan Graziano
  (12:28 PM)

I didn't say Eli over Romo.

Jay (Italy)

Should I really get excited at the possibility of Philly getting Asomugha or is all of this just big talk? Additionally - is Kolb really worth what they think they will gain from a trade?

Dan Graziano
  (12:29 PM)

No, I think they have a real shot at Nnamdi, but there will be competition. As for Kolb, I think they have a price in mind and may even know they can get it. I believe there's at least one team out there that sees him as a 2012 starter, which means, to that team, he's worth the price of one.

Borna (Croatia)

Thanks for the reply. With, obviously, no local preference to any division, I'll go on record to say I spend most of my time on the NFC East blog since you started writing. Love the style.

Dan Graziano
  (12:30 PM)

Thanks! Hear that, st8prop? I am HUGE in Croatia!!!

Drew (New York)

Hey Dan, Twitter contest winner @dshaw31 here. I hope if you take Romo long-term those plans don't include playoff success!

Dan Graziano
  (12:31 PM)

Congrats on winning the contest. Your autographed picture of Glen Quagmire is on the way. As for Romo and the playoffs, the ending of that book hasn't been written yet.

Dan Graziano
  (12:31 PM)

By the way, somebody keeps asking Chiefs questions. Should I answer one?

Weech (Santa Barbara, CA)

Dan, it has been discussed that you should rank the NFCE Blog regulars. I know you wont but it sure would be a fun article to discuss

Dan Graziano
  (12:32 PM)

I'd have to spend at least a week soliciting and evaluating the bribes.

GrammarPolice (NJ)

who's vs whose, you let it slip

Dan Graziano
  (12:33 PM)

I did? Where? When? Questions coming too fast for me to go back and find it!

JS (DC)

Do you think the Redskins priority is to address the NT and MLB position this off season even though LB Perry Riley starting at MLB along side of London Fletcher and NT Antony Bryant starting at NT played well towards the end of the season?

Dan Graziano
  (12:34 PM)

I think NT for sure, and maybe something in the secondary. Not sure MLB is a critical spot for them to address, especially if they believe Lorenzo Alexander can move in there.

Ben (Philly)

dan - with all these reports coming with secret meetings and overnight sleepovers, are you confident a deal will get done before July?

Dan Graziano
  (12:34 PM)

Not confident, Ben. But more optimistic than I was.

Mark (Mahwah, NJ)

Hey Dan, how the heck does Matt Dodge still have a job? Will he be the opening day punter for the Jints?

Dan Graziano
  (12:35 PM)

Hey! I used to live in Mahwah. You play golf at Darlington? I don't know on Dodge. I say they probably give him another shot at the job, but maybe with a shorter leash this year. I think he starts the season with the job, yeah.

Unemployed (NJ)

Would you feel bad if someone got fired bc they were caught reading the chat at work?

Dan Graziano
  (12:36 PM)

Yes.

Dan Graziano
  (12:36 PM)

Yes.

NS (NYC)

Dan, Do you think Giants are on the decline for next couple of years? Their defense struggled last year? O line is getting up there and they don't have a real threat WR after Plax. Their only saving grace is Running game and that is stretching it.

Dan Graziano
  (12:37 PM)

I believe they would do well to address looming needs on the offensive line before they become real problems. I do, however, disagree with you about their receivers. I believe they have excellent receivers.

GrammarPolice (NJ)

Jake (Cape Town, SA)Dan, should the teams lose their starting RBs who's offense struggles the most/least?

Dan Graziano
  (12:37 PM)

Oh! I thought you said I messed it up. Hey, I can't edit everybody else's grammar and still get to enough questions. That's on Jake, right there.

Mister (VA)

Dan, which rookie out of the NFCE will perform the best next year? Which will disappoint the most?

Dan Graziano
  (12:39 PM)

I think Kerrigan has a chance to really shine in Washington, especially if Brian Orakpo draws the attention that he should on the other side. As for disappointments....I don't know. Bruce Carter?

Jake (Cape Town, SA)

Any chance a team in the beast takes Pryor in the supplemental?

Dan Graziano
  (12:39 PM)

I'm interested to see if the Redskins make a play there.

Jake (Cape Town, SA)

My bad, english is my fourth language

Dan Graziano
  (12:40 PM)

Oh if I had a nickel for every time I've heard that excuse...

Mike (New Jersey)

What's your estimate on how long it will take the skins to contend for a sb title? Honestly

Dan Graziano
  (12:41 PM)

Honestly, Mike, I really believe it has everything to do with what happens at QB. And since they're at least a year away from solving QB, it's hard to see them contending for at least three or four more years barring something really unexpected at that spot. My opinion, and an honest one.

biochemskinsfan (St. Louis)

Dan, do you think that this year Vick is more of the 11:0 TD:INT guy that we saw in his first seven games or the 11:7 guy that we saw in his last seven? or somewhere in between?

Dan Graziano
  (12:42 PM)

I think he got tired and wore down in the second half of the season. I think, the way he plays, that's bound to happen. But I also think his stamina will be better in 2011 than it was in 2010, since it had been so long since he's played a full season or anything close to it.

st8prop (Atlanta, GA)

Miami, Buffalo, the New York Jets, Kansas City, Detroit, Tampa Bay and Arizona are the teams known to have slashed payroll.Meanwhile, several team owners, particularly John Mara of the Giants, Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, and Jim Irsay of the Colts, have been adamant about avoiding such reductions. Is it me or do you sense that this is some disgusting practice that reflects poorly on the owners who are participating in this scam?

Dan Graziano
  (12:43 PM)

It is not just you. It's a foul and disgusting maneuver by the owners who are doing it. Not one team has lost one cent of revenue yet. The owners who are cutting employee pay aren't doing it because they have to. They're doing it because they can. They should be ashamed of themselves.

chris (queensbury)

Out of the three rbs in dallas who do u think they should feature as the top two?

Dan Graziano
  (12:44 PM)

I think they should rotate all three according to situations and their relative strengths.

MattC (Plano)

Dan, who do you see making the Pro-Bowl out of this group of WR's? Dez, Maclin, or Crabtree?

Dan Graziano
  (12:44 PM)

I'll pick Bryant, in part because I think he's liable to just absolutely dazzle on special teams.

Nick (DC)

What is it going to take for Shanahan to get fired? You think he will turn around the 'skins before it happens?

Dan Graziano
  (12:45 PM)

Man has four years left on his contract. I believe it will get better.

Dan Graziano
  (12:45 PM)

This may or may not be directed at one particular individual, but as a public service announcement: Spamming the chat with the same vague question over and over again is not going to help you get it answered.

John (Philadelphia)

What have you heard is the price for Kolb? 2012 first rounder and another mid-round pick in 2012/13?

Dan Graziano
  (12:46 PM)

A first-rounder plus seems to be the prevailing opinion. If the Eagles can get that, then I believe it justifies moving him. I'm surprised they can get that, but it sounds as if it just might be out there for them. We'll see.

Josh L (Bakersfield, CA)

three years from now who is the best wr in the beast? dez, nicks, or maclin? (jackson is just too inconsistant for me, explosive yes, but inconsistant)

Dan Graziano
  (12:47 PM)

Nicks.

John (Philadelphia)

Anything to the Plaxico to Eagles rumors? While he isnt a "need", who couldn't use a red zone target like him?

Dan Graziano
  (12:47 PM)

I continue to believe he makes a ton of sense there. For them and for him.

Josh (Louisville)

Dallas RB question. Hers the best answer IMO. Start Choice sprinkle in Jones 10-12 plays. Let Barber finish the game. Put him in at the end of the 3rd quarter and all of the 4th in place of Choice.

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

First, Barber's probably not going to be there. But more importantly, what's wrong with the coaches figuring out the right situations for each guy and rotating them accordingly. Who cares who "starts" and how many plays they get? They should each get the right plays, and that should probably change from game to game. The Cowboys are uniquely suited to operate this way, and I believe doing so is critical to their success.

Ryan (St. Augustine FL)

When are the Giants finally going to beat the eagles? Almost every game has been a close one and they never could finish it out. Should I have hope because our defense was all over Vick in the last game? I heard A.Rolle was a major part of that; is that true?

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

Maybe the biggest story in the division right now. The Eagles OWN the Giants, and it makes no sense, because the teams haven't been very different in terms of quality during this streak. I think it helps the argument of those who pick Reid over Coughlin in the best-coaches debate, though.

Sean (delaware)

if free agency ever happens who do you think the Eagles #1 target is??

Dan Graziano
  (12:50 PM)

Asoumgha

Jake (Cape Town, SA)

Bruins vs Canucks game 7 on Wednesday, who ya got?

Dan Graziano
  (12:50 PM)

Uh....which team is Gretzky on?

st8prop (Atlanta, GA)

I think the Giants really dodged a bullet in not selecting Kenny Britt as everyone expected, and instead going for Hakeem Nicks. It is fortunate how things have turned out, considering the Giants picked right before the Titans did in that draft. Nicks is becoming a terrific WR and play-maker, while Britt is already major headache for the Titans and appears to be a second coming of Plax. You agree?

Dan Graziano
  (12:51 PM)

Yes

sahil (philly)

Who would you rather have Patrick Peterson or Asmougha (for the Eagles)?

Dan Graziano
  (12:51 PM)

Asomugha

MattC (Dallas)

Dan, I heard Dez was in an incident at an IHOP in Frisco earlier this morning, any truth here?

Dan Graziano
  (12:51 PM)

No idea. I haven't been to IHOP in ages.

Ben (Philly)

PFT.com is reporting a deal should be done in 2-3 weeks. bulljive?

Dan Graziano
  (12:52 PM)

Lots of places reporting that today. Which means lots of people are leaking it. Which means there's something to it. Light is appearing at end of tunnel.

Cyrus (PA)

Is Kolb for Patrick Peterson even an option? Peterson was a bit of an odd choice for Arizona, since it's my opinion they are only an average quarterback from winning their division every year. Or maybe Rodgers-Cromartie is on the table?

Dan Graziano
  (12:53 PM)

Keeps being brought up, and the logic behind it makes some sense, but I don't see it. My guess is Kolb gets traded for picks.

Shai (NJ)

Comparing Britt to Plax is unfair to Plax. What legal trouble did Plax ever get into, pre-2008 obviously?

Dan Graziano
  (12:54 PM)

True. Plax has just the one stupid, knuckleheaded incident that I can think of. He has been a behavior case on the field and in the locker room, though.

MattC (Dallas)

Dan, just wanted to say thanks for the great job, seriously man we all appreciate your chats/insights.

Dan Graziano
  (12:55 PM)

Back atcha, MattC.

Samir (Wayne NJ)

Is the New Meadowlands Stadium ever gonna get a name?

Dan Graziano
  (12:56 PM)

Good question. I know they had big plans for that and expected to have it done by now. I also know that was part of the reason the Jets and Giants ownership pushed so hard to get the Super Bowl there -- figuring it would help sell the naming rights. But naming rights for stadiums are kind of a passe concept now. Teams can't get the money they used to get for them, and I think they need to adjust their expectations downward. I'm sure Jerry Jones had planned to sell his by now too.

MattC (Dallas)

What say you about Plax ending up in Ohilly? 25% chance, 50% chance?

Dan Graziano
  (12:56 PM)

44 percent

Shaun (NY)

Curious as to your thoughts on Giants fans' attitude toward Tiki. Him and Strahan were the two best players by far for a 5 year period, and Tiki is the best RB in team history. Yet he gets shunned and booed now, even before the messy divorce. Fair?

Dan Graziano
  (12:57 PM)

Tiki has conducted himself like a clown and a scumbag since his retirement. He deserves the scorn.

Max (Philly)

Do that many teams really like Kevin Kolb? I feel like in Philly we know he's not as good as the hype, but we're just pretending so we can get something good for him...

Dan Graziano
  (12:57 PM)

Only takes one, Max.

Sean (delaware)

What do u think about the Eagles picking up Jason Babin/??

Dan Graziano
  (12:59 PM)

I think they could stand to add some DL depth. Makes sense to target him, sure.

Shane (Los Angeles, CA)

Would you be at all surprised to see the Redskins compete with the Bills & Panthers for worst team in the league?

Dan Graziano
  (12:59 PM)

I would, yeah. I think there's more talent there than people realize. They don't feel like a contender, but I don't see them at the bottom of the barrel.

MattC (Dallas)

Wherever Plaxico ends up, do you see him being a major contributor? 1000 yds 9 td's?

Dan Graziano
  (1:00 PM)

No. Specific, smaller role.

SteveC (Alexandria VA)

Dan-What were your thoughts on the Giants taking Prince & Austin as picks 1

Dan Graziano
  (1:00 PM)

I think the Giants stubbornly draft for value over need to their detriment. Nobody will argue that they got good value at those spots with those players. But they didn't need those players, and they should have been thinking about offensive line for at least one of those picks.

Dan Graziano
  (1:01 PM)

Wow. It's 1:00 already? OK...uh...six more.

Ryan (St. Augustine FL)

What (realistic) linebacker options do the Giants have in free agency?

Dan Graziano
  (1:02 PM)

Tulloch, Poslusny, Ruud...pretty good field of available guys, actually, if they decide to go there.

Jay (Cali)

Best sports city out of the 4 teams?

Dan Graziano
  (1:03 PM)

Ain't no place like the Big Apple.

Tom (NJ)

Why are everyone's expectations about Plax so high? Vick was questionable to even make a team coming out of jail, but Plaxico might have the option to be someone's WR1? Am I the only one who thinks 2 years off for a 35 year old guy spells the end of a career?

Dan Graziano
  (1:04 PM)

You are not. Which is why I think he needs to go to a team that has a specific, smaller plan and use for him -- not a place where he'll be expected to be a WR1.

Will (NJ)

Does Poslusny want to leave Buffalo? Would he sign with the Giants? He is a tackle machine!!

Dan Graziano
  (1:04 PM)

Everybody likes money.

John (Philadelphia)

If I know the Eagles like I think I know them, they will do nothing as reported, keeping Kolb, and showing no interest in the FA's recently discussed. Agree?

Dan Graziano
  (1:04 PM)

I hear ya, John. They never do seem to do what we think they will. You may well be right.

Studebaker (NJ)

What's the FA feeding frenzy going to be like once the lockout is officially in the past? Lots of contracts handed out immediately, a more cautious approach...?

Dan Graziano
  (1:05 PM)

I think it's going to be totally bonkers.

Curt (NJ)

So Dan, since you didn't like the Giants draft, what did you think of the Lions draft?

Dan Graziano
  (1:05 PM)

I'm not sure it's accurate to say I didn't like the Giants' draft. I have some specific issues with their approach to the draft. Just one man's opinion. Obviously, it works for them. And I think the Lions killed it.
