Hey guys, what's crackin?

Rich (New Jersey)

I think Plaxico Burress might have 2-3 good years left in him, Tiki with all the pounding he's taken over the years, I don't know but where do you think they'll wind up this year?

Ohm
  (1:03 PM)

Wud up Rich? I'd love to see Plax return to the Giants but the odds appear to be slim, especially after what he said about his relationship with Coughlin. Tiki, there's no shot he returns. So here are my guesses for the two. I think Plax will see interest from Redskins, Eagles, Rams, maybe Jets. If I were Plax, I'd try to get to San Diego if Vincent Jackson doesn't return there. As for Tiki, a lot of people have mentioned Pittsburgh. It's going to be harder to predict where he ends up. But I do think Tiki will be in a camp somewhere.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Darnit Ohm, my $10.00 bet of the lockout being over by the 1st isn't looking so good huh? Is there any chance at all it ends tomorrow? Oh and who's in the running for Plaxico these days? Thanks.

Ohm
  (1:04 PM)

I tried to save you money Rach. LOL. This thing could go for at least another week if not a few more. Still think there will be no missed games though. ZERO chance it ends tomorrow. Quickest, my guess is, would be next Friday which could be when they have a handshake deal or a framework for a deal. As for Plax, just threw out some teams in the previous answer. Sorry you lost ten bucks!

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

Which New York Giants players will Part ways once the Lockout has been lifted?

Ohm
  (1:06 PM)

Chris, I think the biggest one could be Barry Cofield. If he becomes an unrestricted free agent, which looks like that will be the case based on what reports are saying the CBA will be, then I think it will be hard for him to return. The Giants have Chris Canty, Rocky Bernard, Linval Joseph and Marvin Austin now. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to pay Cofield the contract he deserves with those four already on the roster.

Nick (bayside NY)

Whats up Ohm!? after the CBA is settled do you think that there will be a good amount of quality line backers available in free agents? and who do you think the giants would be looking at?

Ohm
  (1:07 PM)

Hey Nick. I think there will be some veteran free agents. I don't think there are going to be any superstars or anything like that. It's hard to know exactly who will be free agents based on the fact that we don't know if fourth, fifth and sixth year guys will be unrestricted as of yet. We'll have to wait and see. I don't, however, expect the Giants to sign some superstar linebacker simply because I don't think there will be any available. I do see them looking at adding a veteran linebacker, however.

Rich (Ny)

Hey Ohm hope you enjoy your 4th of july weekend and keep the great giants reporting coming! my question is with the money the giants would save from letting cofield walk could you see the giants signing a barrett Rudd? or a Paul Posluszny? and then shifting Goff over to the strongside i just feel it would improve our only defensive weakness by having a upgrade at mlb and a upgrade and strongside with goff over sintim

Ohm
  (1:10 PM)

Thanks Rich, Happy 4th to you as well. I do wonder whether or not they will go get a MLB. I'm not sure if Goff is suited to play outside linebacker to tell you the truth. I know he was up and down as a MLB but you put him outside and he's got to be faster to cover guys and cover the outside. Unless they use him part-time out there with a safety like Perry Fewell did at times last year with the third outside linebacker. But the Giants need to upgrade at linebacker so it will be interesting to see what they do. If Ahmad Bradshaw, Kevin Boss, Steve Smith and Mathias Kiwanuka are all unrestricted free agents, the Giants will be spending dough to keep those guys first.

Rockin' Hank (New York)

Assuming the Giants re-sign Steve Smith, the top 3 receiver spots are locked up with Nicks, Smith, and Manningham. That only leaves about 2-3 open roster spots and a lot of guys fighting for them. Who do you think makes the cut among Hixon, Barden, Cruz, Jernigan, Hagan, Thomas, and Clayton?

Ohm
  (1:13 PM)

Hey Hank, I fully expect Smith to return. And I think the Giants will keep six to seven WRs. So I think you will see Nicks, Smith, Manningham, Jernigan, Barden, Hixon. And then you got Cruz, Thomas, Hagan, Calhoun and possibly Clayton fighting it out. I think Cruz makes the roster. I wonder if the Giants would keep 8 receivers but that's a lot.

Douls (NY)

How good are the giants draft picks marvin austin and prince amukamara?? will they get a starting job??

Ohm
  (1:15 PM)

Douls, hard to say since we have not seen them at all in a rookie camp or mini camp situation. They will be even more behind than normal because the offseason has been wiped out by the lockout. They have not been exposed to coaching or a playbook. So I don't see them starting at all and if they did, it wouldn't be until late in the season or due to injury to a starter. But I think by the end of the season, Amukamara has a better chance of contributing as a DB on passing situations. Considering that the Giants didn't play last year's second-round pick, Linval Joseph, much, hard to see Austin getting a ton of run. Especially since he didn't play all of last year due to the NCAA scandal.

Ohm
  (1:15 PM)

With all of that being said, that doesn't mean the two aren't talented. It's just that this offseason has really hurt the rookies from a learning perspective.

RJ (Jerz)

How fitting is Tyler Sash into that pseudo safety-linebacker position that Grant played for Fewell last year. He seems to have the build and aggressiveness for it, in addition to being able to play ST. It also seems like the Giants, between Jones, Grant and now Sash are really enamored with that versatile 3rd saftey in their defense.

Ohm
  (1:17 PM)

RJ, I can see that. The Giants raved about his toughness and he's a sound tackler. I don't know much about his speed. And it is going to take Sash some time to get up to speed on the Giants scheme. I didn't see him at the Giants players-organized workouts. Doesn't mean he wasn't there or hasn't worked out with Giants players this offseason and certainly doesn't mean he hasn't been working his tail off which I am sure he's been doing. But I just think this camp is going to be tough for rookies because they have so little time to learn everything.

Jim (NY)

Do you think Eli Manning has peaked yet?

Ohm
  (1:18 PM)

Jim, nope. I think he's still got another 2-4 years of reaching his max potential. He's still got room to grow.

victor (monroe)

do you think the players will agreetoend this lockout once and for all i will write again soon.

Ohm
  (1:19 PM)

Victor, yes, I do believe the lockout will end in July sometime. And thanks, I'll wait for you to write soon. LOL.

Keith Silfan (Manalapan, NJ)

After the lockout ends, Do you see the Giants making a play at any free agents? If so, who?

Ohm
  (1:20 PM)

Keith, I wish I could answer your question. Hard to predict who the Giants will go after and what they will do. I think the most important thing is for them to re-sign many of their key guys then look for a LB and possibly safety. And if they are unable to re-sign Boss or Bradshaw, then they'll need a RB and TE.

Ryan (Egypt)

What's up Ohmie? What does your gut say about the Mount Osi eruption? You think he stays or goes?

Ohm
  (1:22 PM)

Hey Ryan. I think there is potential for this to get ugly. The Giants have to take care of their free agents first. Then see what is out there while also keeping Osi happy. I just don't know if he is going to get what he wants from the Giants. There have been flare ups in the past and then Osi came back. But Osi's value is high and he wants to cash in. I think they could start camp without Osi, who could hold out potentially.

Jim (NY)

What's your take on the Osi lawsuit? Justified? Do you think he's outplayed his 6-year, $41 mil extension that he's got one year left on?

Ohm
  (1:23 PM)

Hey Jim, just kind of answered this one but I will say, yes, he deserves to be paid more. The lawsuit isn't Osi's lawsuit. It is the players' lawsuit vs the league about the lockout. Osi is stating his case why the lockout is causing him and other players irreparable harm. But I do think he deserves a raise. With all that being said, the Giants don't have to give him one.

Ohm
  (1:25 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for joining the chat. And please, everybody have a safe 4th weekend!
