Chat with Ohm Youngmisuk

Ohm
  (1:59 PM)

Thanks for joining me today. What ya'll got?

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

Do you think that Losing CB Prince Amukamara for 2 Months will hurt the New York Giants on Defense?

Ohm
  (2:01 PM)

A little bit. I think they could have used him as an extra DB in passing down situations. He may have seen some third-down action. But they got Webster, Thomas and Ross so they are OK. They weren't going to depend a whole lot on Prince. He was more a luxury this season in my mind.

Pete (MI)

Sparty sucks.

Ohm
  (2:01 PM)

It's starting up. Ranked 17th. Although I'll be honest, think we are overrated a bit. Our road schedule is very tough.

kevin (nyc)

Ohm I contacted you last year and told you that Manning would throw for 30 td's and Nicks reminded me of J. Rice. You didn't agree. And you didn't give me my props. I have this for you this year. Barring major injury to key components Eli throws for 35 to 40 td's and is in the mvp discussion. And if the D plays well they're in the nfc champ game. Want to go for it again?

Ohm
  (2:02 PM)

Kevin, if I recall correctly, you asked me if Eli would be in the MVP discussion and if Hakeem Nicks will be like Jerry Rice. I still disagree with both. LOL! Eli will put up numbers, can reach 4,000 yds and 30-plus TDs. But that doesn't mean MVP consideration. He still had 25 INTs. And if the team doesn't win more than 10 games, he can't be an MVP. They'd have to win like 12 in my mind.

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

Or more.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Ohm, missed your chat last week because I always ask my questions the night before and it wasn't listed yet. Good to be back like Expose, ha. So my draft is just under 4 weeks away and I'd like your opinion on the Hixon. How many games do you think he'll play this year? Is he worth a 3rd round selection? Thanks as always.

Ohm
  (2:04 PM)

Hi Rachel. Yes, back like Expose. Don't worry about your draft. I got you. As for Hixon, no, don't spend a third-round pick on him. I wouldn't even spend a third-rounder on Mario Manningham. In third round, you want starters, guys who are still #1 receivers on their team. I think Hixon will be healthy but at best, very best, he'll be the Giants third receiver. Steve Smith could be back although he will probably not be at top form. And Jernigan could figure in later too.

Tim (New Haven, CT)

As a Giants fan, I believe that my team has had the worst offseason in the NFL so far. Jerry Reese?s lack of aggression in signing Boss was unacceptable, and leaves a big question mark at the tight end position. Do you believe Travis Beckum or Bear Pascoe will be the starter? Pascoe was extremely valuable at fullback last year, so, in my opinion, it makes sense to start Beckum.

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

I don't know about worst offseason Timmy. But I understand why you are frustrated. Bottom line, if they don't make any other moves outside of Smith, the Giants are counting on their young talent to develop. I do think Beckum has to start now. Pascoe will be second tight end for blocking purposes. Hynoski could start at FB.

Jc (Fort Myers, Fl)

Ok Ohm lets look on the field shall we. Im looking forward to week 1 preseason we've all heard Sash has been looking very good what other rookie's or new acquisition has impressed that we may not have heard much about?

Ohm
  (2:08 PM)

Sash looks like a heady S. Could be a nice hitter but we'll have to see when he can actually hit. Hynoski looks good so far at FB. Can't wait to see Greg Jones, Jacquian Williams and Herzlich in preseason to get better idea of how they are coming along. And Marvin Austin has shown flashes. LB Kenny Ingram has had his moments too.

Ohm

Michael C. (Westport, CT)

How could the Giants let Kevin Boss go just for one more guaranteed-pay season? He was a crucial ingredient for the offense, and it's not like they have anyone to replace him. They could have had Plax and Boss for reasonable money. What do they have now? 6-9 here they come. Your thoughts?

Ohm
  (2:10 PM)

Mike, four years, $16 million seems relatively affordable but Boss did get $8 million guaranteed. And I think the Giants want to be responsible with their cap for years to come. Eventually they will have more players to pay. I don't know if Plax would have come no matter what. If they guaranteed his contract, perhaps. But I don't know if they were willing to do so and if they had gone with more money for those two, no guarantees Bradshaw returns because of their cap situation.

Ohm
  (2:11 PM)

As for 6-9... if Osi plays this year, I still think they can win 10 games but 8-8 not out of question either. There are a few youngsters that need to step up like Linval Joseph and Will Beatty to name a few.

Ryan (NY)

What do you think of Situation moving in on your girl Snooki?

Ohm
  (2:11 PM)

Ryan, don't judge me. I haven't seen any Jersey Shore yet! Been so busy. So I'm going to need you to fill me in. Seems like it was only a matter of time. LOL!

Drew (NY)

Wut up Big OHM!, welcome to ur chat. Is Steve Smith going to be ready by week one. If not, when do expect him to be 100%

Ohm
  (2:12 PM)

Hey D. My guess is no. He had his knee checked out today by the team. But he just had microfracture back in December. I would think the team will want to take it very very slowly with him. I think that is also why you haven't seen him sign with anyone yet.

Drew (NY)

What are the big plans for dinner tonight. or r u shooting another one of those "videos"?

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

Might get a steak with a friend. The Hawaiian Ribeye at Houston's, one of my faves. I know, Ruth's Chris is nice and all, and I love them too. But love that Hawaiian Ribeye for some reason.

Alex (CT)

Hey Ohm, who do you think will win the battle for the 3rd RB slot? I personally hope its Andre Brown and do you think Greg Jones has a shot of unseating Goff at MLB? He has supposedly looked good thus far in camp

Ohm
  (2:15 PM)

Hey Alex, I think Brown could give DJ Ware some run. I'd like to see more from Da'Rel Scott but he hasn't gotten a whole ton of reps. They've been giving more carries to Charles Scott. Don't think Greg Jones will get up to speed that fast this year. But my guess is Jones makes the team and could push Dillard perhaps eventually for second-team.

Nick (Bayside)

Hows the tight end situation? and has marvin austin impressed the giants enough to get some playing time this season??

Ohm
  (2:16 PM)

Hey Nick, Beckum and Pascoe likely will be the top two TEs if they don't sign anyone else or make a trade. Austin has shown flashes but is currently dealing with a hip issue. Should resume practicing on Wednesday.

Mike (NY)

With the Slew of Young LB's, who do you see making an impact so far? Specifically, how's Mark Herzlich been looking?

Ohm
  (2:17 PM)

I think Kiwi is the guy to keep your eye on since he is going to start at LB. As for the younger guys, I think Greg Jones has a shot to make team. Herzlich too. He has been used inside and outside. Both are getting third-team reps. Spencer Paysinger was getting good amount of third-team reps until he hurt his groin. Still got to see what Jacquian Williams can do but he is athletic and can cover according to LBs coach Jim Herrmann. Kenny Ingram has shown flashes too.

Matty (Hoboken)

The TE and FB positions are CONSIDERABLY weaker than last year (assuming Pascoe moves from FB to TE). What options are there for upgrades? Any chance at looking at Shockey if he gets cut by CAR?

Ohm
  (2:18 PM)

I think Hynoski has looked good so far at FB. So might not be that much of a downgrade. Hard to see a reunion with Shockey with all that happened in the past. But Giants will keep an eye on what happens with tight ends around the league.

Mike (NY)

How's Da'rel Scott been looking. Think he has a shot of making it over the other RB's (Ware, C. Scott, Brown) competing for those last few spots?

Ohm
  (2:19 PM)

Mike, gotta be honest, I need to see him get more carries. One thing I will say is I am still waiting to see his speed. Hard to really see it when there is no contact and he's getting few carries. Ware, Scott and Brown have been getting more reps so far.

Chris (Chicago)

Ohmio, much of the news out of Camp Blue has been negative thusfar (Osi, no Plax, Prince injury, no big additions). Right now, what do you see as the teams biggest strength and biggest weakness? Thanks!

Ohm
  (2:21 PM)

C, biggest strength: I'd say the defensive front line with Tuck, Joseph, Canty and JPP and being able to blitz a Kiwi from linebacker. The secondary hasn't been bad. Eventually the Giants WRs will look good too. I expect good things from Nicks.

Vinnie (Columbus, OH)

Ohm's Law!!! Wake me from this nightmare, Ohm. It keeps getting worse and worse. We now have 3 huge holes to fill OL, LB and TE yet we're up against the salary cap as it is. What is the plan for the Gmen to fill these holes? The window of opportunity for a return to the Super Bowl is closing. Thanks.

Ohm
  (2:22 PM)

Don't panic. OL will have to be Beatty stepping up and Baas at center. At LB, Kiwi is the answer, the Giants hope. Can't complain that much there. And TE, time for Becks to step up unless they make a deal. At some point, you have to see what these guys can do. They want to see now apparently.

Henry (Greece)

Ohm my boy, hows the giants d looking so far this year? DBs are thin but if Kenny is back to form, Saftey's could thrive. D-line always solid, think we'll be legit again?

Ohm
  (2:23 PM)

Greece! Really? Awesome. Giants defense had a nice night last night, few picks, lot's of jawing. The corners were aggressive and Kenny looks good so far, more confident than last year. I think the defense will be solid again under Perry. Kiwi at linebacker should help for a full year.

JPP (nyg)

Is this my breakout year? If last year's Jacksonville game is any sign, I predict big things in my future

Ohm
  (2:24 PM)

All depends on if Osi plays. If Osi stays and plays, you will still make an impact but not as a starter.

Max (Stuck in Philly)

You think the D-Line is still elite despite being so young..in particular what can we expect from JPP and Linval? Thanks

Ohm
  (2:24 PM)

Hey Max, I think the D-Line is still the team's strength with or without Osi. Tuck is in his prime. Got JPP or Osi at DE too. Joseph is strongest guy on the team and Austin and Bernard will provide more bodies inside with Canty.

Conner (Spring Lake, NJ)

The Giants are in desperate need of a tight end, any word on who the G-Men are talking to in free agency? Also of all he rookies, which player do you expect to have an immediate impact forthe giants this season?

Ohm
  (2:26 PM)

Conner, not much available homey on the market. Tight end was pretty weak in free agency anyways. As far as rookies, Sash might get an opportunity to contribute in passing situations. Hynoski could start at FB.

LL (MICHIGAN)

GO MICHIGAN,SPANK THE SPARKIES! I can't stand m-state since 1979!!

Ohm
  (2:27 PM)

LL... love how you say since 1979! Only the greatest year in college basketball history. LOL!

Ian (The Adirondacks)

Ohm my man! as a die hard GMEN fan representing Upstate im totally bummed Albany didnt happen this year. Regardless, and im sure your sick of being asked about this, but did i just waste a bunch of money last month on my new Authentic Steve Smith Jersey?? I hope not, Smith is too clutch for the Giants to just dump him after 1 injury. You the man Ohm fist pump for life haha

Ohm
  (2:28 PM)

Ian, wud up. Don't stress. I still think Smitty ends up with Giants but I am not going to lie, a bit surprised it's taken this long. Apparently he is not going to be ready for camp and maybe not the regular season opener either. I think he wants a better deal than what Giants are offering. But market doesn't appear to be strong for him due to knee. Giants won't be dumping him. They just want him back at right price. Fist pound.

Javier Montero (Bronx, NY)

Do you think the Giants will be a better team then they were last season?

Ohm
  (2:29 PM)

Javier, a lot depends on Osi. But I'd say even with him, probably a 10-win team again is my guess. Their schedule is tougher. I think this team can be better with more consistency, less turnovers. But they got some new faces that need to step up. And their schedule again... brutal down the stretch.

Dick (Blueballs,Pa)

yo ohmie who do you think should be r starting tight end now that boss is gone.

Ohm
  (2:30 PM)

Dick, Becks. He gotta be the man if they don't add another TE that is good.

Tom (Coughlin)

My curling partner just cancelled last minute. You good to be a sub for tonight?

Ohm
  (2:30 PM)

Not if I have to show 10 minutes early TC. LOL.

tony (scranton,pa)

hey ohmie i feel like plax just came into play us. he had in his mind all along he wuz gunna join the jets.

Ohm
  (2:30 PM)

Tony, very possible. But that's the business homey.

jeremy v (spokane )

is herzlich in camp and good to go? and anything new on steve smith finally getting signed!

Ohm
  (2:31 PM)

Herzlich is here. He has been getting third-team reps at middle and outside linebacker. Going to have to play special teams as well. They love his attitude. Nothing new on Smith other than he visited, had his knee checked out and we'll see what happens from here.

Mike (NY)

Ohm- you there brotha??

Ohm
  (2:31 PM)

I'm here brother.

Andy (FL)

How did the Giants get to be so cash-strapped? Its been really disappointing that an organization as well-run as the Giants are, that they are in this situation of not being able to go out and spend money to keep/acquire players. Any idea? Please don't say Madoff.

Ohm
  (2:33 PM)

Andy, Eli, Webster, Canty have big contracts. I don't think the Giants wanted to spend a whole lot and hurt their cap for future years as well.

Matt (Ct)

What can the Giants do to finally beat the Eagles this season? I feel like it's going to be a another disappointing season considering they are better at every single position except maybe safety.

Ohm
  (2:33 PM)

When it comes to this rivalry, a lot has to be mental Matty. If they just made a few plays, and stopped killing themselves with the turnovers, they could have won both games last year. Not gonna lie though. Nnamdi makes life a lot tougher for Eli.

John (NYC)

What is Jerry Reese's philosophy? I have no doubt about his ability, but I don't understand why a guy like Corey Webster is making $8 million a year and we don't have a legitimate starting tight end.

Ohm
  (2:35 PM)

Well, I think your number one cornerback is probably going to make a lot more than your top tight end unless you have Antonio Gates-type. But Webster making $8 mil doesn't help their cap situation, that's for sure.

Jack (Denville)

Hey Ohm. How did the Giants get so inhibited by the cap? Do the have many "over market" contracts on the roster? It's frustrating to watch rivals be able to go out and do so much.

Ohm
  (2:35 PM)

Sorry guys, the chat site appears to be frozen... hang on

Billy (State College, PA)

Stop sending Spartans to our practice to try to take out Paterno. Just accept the fact that you're not as good as us

Ohm
  (2:36 PM)

The questions aren't posting for some reason... hang on

Ohm
  (2:37 PM)

Ok, Jack, I basically answered the question earlier, just wanted to get your question in. And as for Billy, you know as well as I do... home team wins when it's State vs State. But I want no part of you guys down there. That sea of white scares me.

JayW (Hightstown nj)

if Osi comes back ready to play which he will! and Kiw moving to LB i think we will have a very good Defence. what do you think about that?and i feel Cruz will step up and make a HUGE splash with manningham, and nicks and hicks our Offence should be fine as long as we done make the stupid mistakes like last year we beat our selves in i would say 3 games so we would have been 13-3 give a game this year for mistakes with our D i feel is pretty deep, and our Offence being ok-pretty good we play sound football and maybe get the prince back at week 9 our team should be 12-4 if play sound football?

Ohm
  (2:39 PM)

Jay, I do think the defense will be fine. As for third receiver, we will have to see who steps up. Cruz, Hixon, Jernigan... Barden still hurt. I think 12-4 is the very best-case scenario. I don't see it though. But you never know.

Ken (Brooklyn)

How is Ramses Barden doing? He is the only one I know who have almost the physique of Plaxico. Will he get playing some playing time this season?

Ohm
  (2:40 PM)

Kenny, he's still on PUP list, recovering from ankle surgery. Needs to get back into camp soon. Coughlin getting impatient.

Jared (Washington)

Will Will Beatty stay at LT? Or will Diehl move out and let Petrus take inside.

Ohm
  (2:40 PM)

Yes, Diehl is at LG for now.

Peter ((Broke) NYC-er)

OHM!!! Quick question..how come the gmen can't just give Osi an additional 2mil-3mil bump in overall salary as a easily reached incentive (8 sacks lets say). I mean he deserves it, and with all their PSL money, its not like they can't afford it; they just can't have it go against the cap...whaddya think?

Ohm
  (2:41 PM)

They apparently are going to give him incentives for reaching certain amount of sacks. But the type of money you are talking about won't kick in unless he hits like 13.5 or 15 sacks probably.

Jonathan (Clifton, NJ)

NY Giants:At this moment, who are the favorites to start at linebacker?

Ohm
  (2:41 PM)

Kiwanuka, Goff and Boley.

George (Beacon, Ny)

If the Giant team doctor's feel Steve Smith can play this year will the Giants get him signed to a deal? Will the Giants keep both Sage and Carr or tyr and free up some money to use elsewhere? Thanks Ohm, enjoy your work.

Ohm
  (2:42 PM)

G, I think at the right price. Could be a one-year deal and I think Smith wants more money or years, is my guess. I think Sage may have to re-do his deal, he earns $3 million, if they want to keep both. Quite possible they will. But I think they got a lot of young players they want to keep elsewhere so could be a numbers game there. Thanks G.

Bill (Long Beach)

Ohm! wazup! With the Giants pressed up against the cap - - i take it this is the roster(pending final cuts) they'll be going into battle with?

Ohm
  (2:43 PM)

Bill, quite possible. Maybe they add another body or two from cuts around the league. But my feeling is these are the guys they are going to go to war with pending Smith and Osi.

Dan (Edison, NJ)

Ohm, what do you think about Tyler Sash? He seems to be having a very good camp. Do you think he could fill that 3rd safety roll? He seems like he could get in the box and play more like a linebacker at times as well. Your thoughts?

Ohm
  (2:44 PM)

D, he has looked good so far, always appears to be in the right spots in the non-contact drills. I have a feeling he's going to be a nice hitter. He eventually could be that third safety. Got to ease him in cuz he's a rookie.

Brian (Fredericksburg, VA)

Any sign in camp that the RBs will be more involved in the passing game this year? Would be nice if Manning had the option to dump the ball off to one of them, haven't had that since Barber left. Who do you think will be the back on 3rd and long situations?

Ohm
  (2:45 PM)

They have been doing a lot of check-downs in practice. But that doesn't mean that will translate to the field. But without Boss, if Beckum doesn't step up, perhaps there will be more throws out of backfield. But I think they rather keep their RB in to block.

Frank (New York)

HAPPY BDAY OHM. PARTY AT LAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohm
  (2:45 PM)

Thanks Frank. I'd be there if I didn't have to get to practice tomorrow. LOL. But thanks man.

T-Bone (New York, NY)

Assuming the starters are Boley, Goff and Kiwanuka, which LB's appear to leading the battle for the backup spots? There seem to be so many options (Sintim, Herzlich, Ingram, Blackburn, DeOssie, Paysinger, Dillard, etc.)...

Ohm
  (2:47 PM)

T-Bone, those are the three starters. So after that, I see Sintim, Dillard and A. Tracy as 2nd team with Ingram battling Tracy. Then the third team is Jones at MLB and Paysinger and Herzlich/Jacquian at OLBs. Paysinger has a groin injury and that hurts right now as far as his chances. He needs reps. LB coach Jim Herrmann really likes this group. Special teams will be huge.

Bill (Long Beach)

Ohm, How's Beckham look'n? Do you forsee: 35-500-8, this year?

Ohm
  (2:48 PM)

He doesn't have much competition for catches. But I always felt they didn't use Boss enough on passing downs. Eight TDs and 500 yards could be asking for a lot. We'll see. He is capable of those numbers if they use him.

Ray (Phoenix)

Ohm many people are doubting Beckum as a TE. How has he looked in camp overall? I still believe besides being Eli's best friend on the team, Boss wasnt as good as advertised.

Ohm
  (2:48 PM)

Ray, he has shown flashes. Needs to be more consistent.

Coach (Southington, CT)

How many wins you see the Giants taking this year? I'm a realistic fan, I see 9-7 at best, 7-9 at worst.

Ohm
  (2:49 PM)

You are in the ballpark Coach. Could be 10 wins. Depends on Osi. But 8 or 9 wins a definite possibility. I predicted 10 earlier so I got to stick with it. LOL.

Fanfave (NYC)

Which Rookie/2nd year LB separates himself from the Pack?

Ohm
  (2:50 PM)

They've been using Adrian Tracy at LB and some DE. I think they are excited to see what he can do this year. Kenny Ingram has shown flashes. And Sintim has been praised by coaches so far. He's still coming off ACL surgery but he has to start making a name for himself soon.

Dan (NJ)

My man OHM you saved my summer with all this news. Youve stepped your game up man. Big props... How well do you think kp and antrel rolle will play together this year? This is there second year together, kp is supposed to be back to the old him, and its another year under perry together.

Ohm
  (2:51 PM)

I think Kenny will look more confident and aggressive than last year. His knee is better and the coaches won't protect him as much as they did last year.

Dani Aronovitz (New York City )

Who is leading the battle for the punting job right now, Dodge or Weatherford? I hear all this talk about Dodge having some powerful boots in camp but we already know he has a strong leg, that's not his issue. His issue is holding onto snaps and following coaches' orders. Can we risk having him as a major liability again this season after single-handedly causing some big game changers last season?

Ohm
  (2:52 PM)

Dani, hard to say because really they both have looked good at times and have had some ups and downs. I feel you can get a better gauge during preseason games, especially with Dodge. He kills them in practice. Dodge has shown the bigger leg but can he do it consistently?

Darren (New York)

Since Ben Patrick retired and Boss left to the raiders, are the Giants going to try and trade for a tight end? Do they also feel like thay should add another saftey like Deon Grant. How hard is it to recover from Prince's injury? Anf will the Giants make any addition to their online? Or any additons at all?

Ohm
  (2:54 PM)

We'll have to see how the Osi thing shakes out. Deon would be great but I think the Giants like Sash so far. Prince could need close to two months to recover. O-line appears to be set unless they sour on guys in camp.

TurboD (Downtown, NYC)

Jints have taken a step back from last year and its been three years since they've made the playoffs. Why should fans have hope that this team will make the playoffs - when the competition has significantly improved?

Ohm
  (2:55 PM)

TurboD, you got to hope that Reese drafted well and these young dudes are ready to step up the way Steve Smith, Boss, Bradshaw and others did a few years ago.

Kellz (Queens, NY)

any ideas on how JPP is handling the starting job now that osi has a "knee injury"......btw Watch The Throne is CRAZY!!!

Ohm
  (2:56 PM)

Wud up Kellz. JPP is looking good. Coaches rave about him all the time. These reps are really great for him while Osi is out. That is one major positive. As for WTT... I've liked what I've heard so far in the previews. Can't wait. I'm praying to Buddha I get tix to watch them perform. Unfortunately they are at IZOD the night before Giants play Patriots in NE. Could be a long weekend for me! LOL.

Adam (Detroit)

Hey Ohm! What will our linebackers look like opening day?

Ohm
  (2:57 PM)

Hey Adam, Kiwi, Goff and Boley will start.

sam s (tenafly nj)

hey ohm, do you think the linebacking core will be adequate this year??

Ohm
  (2:57 PM)

I think Kiwi will help. I like having him there and not knowing if he is going to blitz or what. Giants trying to get their best players on the field and I like that.

Mena (East Brunswick, NJ)

Hey Ohm, great job out there. Any chance the Giants make a trade for a tight end and who would possibly be available other than John Carlson? Also, any chance of a breakout year for Travis Beckum?

Ohm
  (2:58 PM)

Thanks. Maybe. But just my guess, probably not. If they hold onto Osi, think they stay like that. Unless Seahawks get desperate to dump Carlson. This will have to be a breakout year for Becks otherwise.

Boaz (Bronx)

Do you think Osi will be in the starting lineup against the Redskins in week one?

Ohm
  (2:59 PM)

Gun to my head? Yes. Just my guess.

steve (Staten Isand)

Have they completely given up on Sintim? He just cant put it together.

Ohm
  (2:59 PM)

They haven't. He's running with second team and coaches have praised him. But he's got Kiwi in front of him now.

Samir (NJ)

How many yards and TD's do you think Nicks will have this year?

Ohm
  (3:01 PM)

Tough to say. I'd say he goes over 1,000 yards again, over 80 receptions, and maybe 12 TDs. We'll have to see what happens to Smith, who helps take pressure off Nicks.

Ohm
  (3:01 PM)

And he should be healthier this year.

Shaun (Broadway, VA)

How do you see the giants secondary holding up with the losses to both Bruce Johnson and to Prince Amukamara?

Ohm
  (3:02 PM)

I think they'll be alright. Depth takes a hit though. Some of these younger guys in camp will have to step up like Michael Coe and Brian Witherspoon.

RJ (Jerz)

Most likely to break out this year?: Manningham, JPP, KP or Beatty

Ohm
  (3:02 PM)

RJ, KP or JPP.

RJ (NY)

Who can we talk to at ESPN to re-structure your contract so you have to chat for at least three hours a day? On days you chat my work day goes by 100 times quicker

Ohm
  (3:02 PM)

If I do that, I won't be able to write about the Giants otherwise.

Mark (Toronto)

Ready and waiting to Pump up the Jam on this chat!

Ohm
  (3:03 PM)

Like Technotronic? LOL.

Suzyn (Westchester)

This Steve Smith thing is just weird. Is money really an issue at this point? Why wouldn't both sides be willing to do a cheap, one-year deal, allow him to rehab and hopefully get some production in the second half of the season? Then he can go chase his payday next winter. What am I missing? Why isn't he a Giant yet?

Ohm
  (3:04 PM)

Hi Suzyn. I think that could be the problem. Giants want a cheap one-year deal. Smitty probably wants a bit more to protect himself. He was a Pro Bowl receiver after all. Also, Smith might not be ready to start the season. So he could have a hard time showing everybody he's back because it could take him entire year to reach his old form.

Travis (Shark River Hills, NJ)

What's the current situation looking like at TE and who do you will take the #3 WR spot?

Ohm
  (3:05 PM)

Beckum starting. Pascoe probably 2nd TE. Hixon, Cruz, Jernigan probably battle it out for third WR until Smith is healthy if he's back and Barden proves himself healthy again.

Nutbag (NYC)

Any updates with the "Player 72" situation or a TE?

Ohm
  (3:05 PM)

Been on this chat so haven't had time to check. LOL.

Ryan (NY)

The Vegas over/under for Giants wins is 9.5 -- what side does the smart money bet?

Ohm
  (3:06 PM)

OOOOH! Tough one. I've been saying 10 with Osi. But it's right there. Vegas always has it right. The Giants gonna be right around there in my mind.

dutch (Har)

Whats Good Ohm! My Question is about Ramses Barden whats the view on him will he make the team this year? he been pretty underachieving as of late

Ohm
  (3:06 PM)

Wud up. Still on PUP, gotta get his ankle right.

Ryan (NY)

The 4 guarantees in life: Death, Taxes, Rex Ryan guaranteeing a super bowl, and Pete (MI) hitting you with a Sparty Sucks blast every chat

Ohm
  (3:07 PM)

Pete actually took the last couple of chats off.

JIMT (NY)

OHM, Good Afternioon. Mario Manningham played quite well in the slot last year in Smith's absence. Will he return to the slot this year and if not, who will be the slot receiver?

Ohm
  (3:08 PM)

I think Mario will have to be the #2 receiver. But sometimes, they could move him to slot and Hixon on outside or use Jernigan inside or maybe Cruz. We'll have to see.

Greg (Indy)

Has Matt Dodge officially been run out of town?

Ohm
  (3:08 PM)

He's still here booming punts in practice.

James Pennisi (Jersey)

Hey Ohm, I was at two of the practices and was pretty shocked to see how tame they seemed to be. I was expecting them to be a lot more intense. Do you see a difference between this camp and camps from the past? If so, is it a sign of the Giants lack of leadership or just the coaches trying to ease the players into the swing of things following the lockout. Thanks!

Ohm
  (3:09 PM)

Giants don't do a lot of hitting in camp. Trying to keep everybody healthy and fresh. And with no offseason, it's the right thing to do.

Brian (CT)

What ever happend with keith bulluck?

Ohm
  (3:10 PM)

Good question. I think he's still a FA.

kevin (nyc)

Ohm That's weak. You're gonna have to come clean sooner or later. Nicks 15 td's 1200 yds. Manning 37 td's 4150, book it.

Ohm
  (3:11 PM)

Ok, you're down for that. And Hakeem Nicks is Jerry Rice in your book too.

johnny (madagascar)

how about osi and a few others such as jacobs for chris johnson eathier of them are close to happy

Ohm
  (3:11 PM)

Sorry Johnny, keep dreaming. LOL. Don't think CJ is going anywhere.

Fanfave (NYC)

Is hagan in camp? he played well last yr

Ohm
  (3:12 PM)

Hagan signed with the Raiders.

James Pennisi (Jersey)

Has Kiwanuka looked timid at all in his first couple of practices back from the neck injury? Does he look comfortable at LB?

Ohm
  (3:12 PM)

He hasn't looked timid to me.

Mark (Toronto)

Better made for TV Movie about a players journey to the NFL: Mark Herzlich or Chad Jones?

Ohm
  (3:13 PM)

WOW. How about one appears on Lifetime and the other on Hallmark channel?

Dorian A. (Pittsburgh,PA)

What would you think about the Giants connverting Ramses Barden into a TE? Granted, he's still very raw, but his potential hasn't been fully realized and he's 6'7". Granted, he'll need to add 20-25 pounds, but it seems that it wouldn't hurt to try

Ohm
  (3:14 PM)

Let the guy get healthy first. I think let's see what he can do at WR first.

David (Brooklyn via NJ)

Ohmmmm, all I can think of its Tuesday, I'm stuck at work, and the Giants seemed to have gotten worse in every area, while the Eagles and Cowboys seemed to have gotten better. Cheer me up, give me an area where the Giants got better or some optimistic take on the Giants this season.

Ohm
  (3:16 PM)

Well, I do think they upgrade at LB with Kiwanuka and they could potentially have their best pass rushers all on the field on certain plays. The D-line will still be good.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Oh nooooo.. Im glad you're still around Ohm! I meant Nicks not Hixon, haha. Sorry!

Ohm
  (3:16 PM)

LOL... Nicks would be a great third-round pick... if he's there.

Shawn J (DE)

What's up Ohm! Will Jacobs will remain the RB starter or will Ahmad regain a starters spot?

Ohm
  (3:16 PM)

Ahmad starts, Jacobs gets more carries this year than last year backing him up.

Perry (Fewell)

You're jealous of my hat Ohms, just admit it, ADMIT IT

Ohm
  (3:18 PM)

Very jealous. Perry be stylin.

tony (queens,ny)

hey ohmie dude last date went awesome wich movie do u think this week.

Ohm
  (3:19 PM)

For real? How was the movie? Did you see the Ryan Reynolds movie yet? Maybe take her on the date there too.

Snooki (Italy)

You haven't been watching Ohm? It's like you don't even love me anymore

Ohm
  (3:20 PM)

Too much Osi and not enough Snooki in my life. Sigh.

Randy Moss (On the couch)

Straight cash homey and i'll play

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

Straight Cash! Enjoy retirement homey!

Dan (NYC)

Ohm can you please answer a question of mine? Who do you see winning the Giants/Jets matchup this season?

Ohm
  (3:22 PM)

Asking me to predict this one months ahead. I'm going with Jets and Plax catches a TD. Don't know why but gotta feeling about that one.

Joe (nyc)

Any fights at camp!!!!!

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

None so far. Need Seubert back!

Ohm
  (3:24 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for joining the chat. Appreciate all the questions! See you all next week!
