Andray is here!

John (LA)

With Trevor Booker and Kevin Seraphin signing deal overseas, is that something you would consider if the NBA lockout continues?

Andray Blatche
  (2:55 PM)

Actually, no. I'm going to stay here and continue to workout here and continue to do community work with my family.

Russ (Washington DC)

Do you feel like you have a new and improved roll with this revamped Wizards squad? Compared to your first years, how has that roll changed, and are you still wearing braces?

Andray Blatche
  (2:56 PM)

My role has changed extremely. From going to a young player and listening to guys like Antawn, Brandon, Caron. Now I'm one of the more veteran players and teaching the young guys like the guys did for me.

Jake (Dallas, TX)

You have referred to your game as being finesse in the past, but over this summer you have talked about getting stronger to be able to bang down low. Will we see a tougher and rougher Andray Blatche this year?

Andray Blatche
  (2:57 PM)

Yes, of course. This offseason, I've been in Miami trying to beef up and be stronger. So I can be stronger and more physical and finish more plays.

Kevin (CT)

How excited are you to go on the Presidential Yacht?

Andray Blatche
  (2:57 PM)

I'm real real excited about that. Not too many people have the chance to go on the yacht. With the troops coming out and the wounded soldiers. This will be a fun opportunity.

Thomas (DC)

Hey Dray, I'm a huge fan. It seems like every year you come back with a new move or aspect of your game (better j, more post moves, etc.). Is there anything in particular that you've been working on this summer?

Andray Blatche
  (2:58 PM)

Just trying to get stronger and be more physical. Have more of a low post presence. Turn more into a beefy player.

Tommy (Madison, WI)

What advice do you have for McGee, who has so much potential and athleticism, to become an elite center?

Andray Blatche
  (2:59 PM)

Basically just listen to the coach. He's a young player. He has a great amount of potential. He can be our defensive specialist. Defense, rebounding, blocking shots, running the floor. Making himself felt that way.

Black Mamba (Hollywood, Cali.)

I enjoy your game and watching you with the Wiz. Will there be an All Star game for you this season, assuming there is a season?

Andray Blatche
  (3:00 PM)

Every year from now on I hope to be an all start. I've been working hard this summer. I have some goals and I'm going to continue to put forth the effort to get where I want to be.

PA (Chicago)

Pretty cool what you're doing for the troops. Keep up the good work on and off the court.

Andray Blatche
  (3:01 PM)

I reached out to a couple of people. I'm very interested in doing something for the troops. They put their life on the line. Anything I can do to help, I want to. We reached out and made some calls. That's how this whole thing came about.

Melissa (New York)

Hi Andray,There has been a lot of positive press on you lately due to your work in the community and your focus to improve on the court! I hear you have another event you are doing on the 30th..with the Wounded Warrior Project...what are the details of that?

Andray Blatche
  (3:02 PM)

I've been going out in the community and talk to kids. Spend some time with them and let them know anything is possible and know you have you have right attitude and stay positive. With the troops, we had some sponsors come out and give us a nice dinner. We'll go out on the boat and talk. Get to know each other. Find out more about them. Me and my family appreciate what they're doing, so we're doing this.

PA (Chicago)

How awesome is it playing with John Wall? He's sick.

Andray Blatche
  (3:03 PM)

He's great. He's a young point guard. He's one of the quickest guys and fastest guys I've ever played with. You have to be in shape and fast to keep up with him.

Tommy (Madison, WI)

What do you expect from rookies Shelvin Mack and Jan Vessely in their rookie seasons?

Andray Blatche
  (3:04 PM)

Actually, I've been with Shelvin. He's a hard worker. I can see him helping out immediately. I haven't met Jan yet, so I don't know much about him.

Jeff (RI)

what's the biggest difference between your game as rookie and now?

Andray Blatche
  (3:05 PM)

Just confidence. And the opportunity. Opportunity to play and grow. That got my confidence up and helped me contribute.

Matt (DC)

Hope your lifting some weight Dray we need you jack hammer ripped for this year (or whenever Basketball comes back).

Andray Blatche
  (3:05 PM)

I'm trying to get there. I'm trying to beef up and stronger so I can be much more physical and aggressive.

mike coffman (columbia, MD)

when do u think the wizard will be in the the Championship game?

Andray Blatche
  (3:06 PM)

I think we could see it soon. Teams like OKC and others. We have the same potential as the other teams. We have a talented PG in Wall and center in McGee. We have all of the pieces, we just have to put it all together and become a great team.

Tommy (Madison, WI)

What led to your break-out season in 2009-2010?

Andray Blatche
  (3:07 PM)

Just hunger. I couldn't wait for the opportunity. I told myself I wasn't going to let it go to waste. I gave it my all.

Andray Blatche
  (3:08 PM)

Keep your fingers crossed that we can get this lockout over with soon and we can get back out on the court!
