Good afternoon everyone...still gimping and limping, but ready to say let's get this partaaaaayyyy started!
hows this team? 14,29,2,99,24,17,88,39
The only guy that is a major question mark in that group Dave is probably Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He hasn't done enough lately or at Dover to give anyone any kind of confidence. The rest of the team looks pretty sporty. But I will point out Gordon, while strong lately, hasn't done much the last few races on the Monster Mile.
so great start to the chase,i had bowyer my god killed me. so how do u really feel about newman and kyle busch? one of these two r going to win.thats my thoghts.as for jimmy that whole team is off. little disaray.hope everything is well.
Bowyer got me too Mike..I think Newman is going to be strong as well as Kyle..but I think this could turn into a critical race between Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson. I think these two could end of slugging it out. Edwards has Johnson on the ropes and he has some great stats at Dover. Then, again, so does JJ.
Mark, sending this question in early due to my work schedule. For a get well gift I can send an R11 you way bud. :) Anyways for Dover this week I have the 48-43-39-78 for Y!. However, 39 or 2 and 27 (3) or 78 (6)? Only got one start left for the 6. Starts left in parenthesis. For ESPN: 17-16-43-2-1 and got .2 left. Not sure where to use it though. Also, Mark let me know any news of the Roush situation or Vickers situation if you can bud. Keep up the great work boss!
Thanks for the get well offer...appreciate it believe me...Yahoo team is okay...39 on paper better pick at Dover, but Keselowski can do no wrong. The 43 looks good for this week, but last couple of weeks hasn't been impressive..As for the ESPN team..You had me all the way up to McMurray, I think you can do better than that.
Who do you think will win the One Main Citifinancial 200 & the AAA 400 at Dover?
I think this could be a big message weekend and I'm thinking Edwards defeats Kyle on Saturday and backs it up with another win Sunday.
Oh griizzled gimpy guru hope your doing better this week and gotta tell I chuckled when I saw it said your chat was live FROM Loudon' Do you think Kenseth will get back on the hurt this weekend?
Hey Zippy..I had guys live in Loudon and I was "alive"...barely..but alive..lol...still hanging in there. Unfortunately I've had a couple of setbacks this week, but still heading in the right direction. I have found out hip replacement is not a walk in the park. As for Kenseth, yes I think he's really tough this week at Dover. He's been too good for too long for him not to be this Sunday in my opinion.
Guru, Vickers, Kahne, Martin, and lately Allmendinger are risky picks, but have up-sides at Dover - think any of them are worth the risk - as always, thank you.
They are toughies this week Joanie that's for sure..Martin is probably safest pick in the group followed by Kahne and then Allmendinger, who's fallen off the pace lately. Vickers seems to be a total crap shoot, but he was fifth in May. His only top-10 in last ten on the Monster Mile.
What do you think of Ambrose and AJ as mid range picks for Dover?
Neither have set the world on fire lately Zippy, but AJ is definitely the safer pick between the two. I wouldn't go with both unless you have blood pressure medicine..lol
How about Gimpy's pre-race top 30?
Just finishing it up and it will be your way in just a minute.
Here's my pre-race top-30......1.Carl Edwards2.Jimmie Johnson3.Matt Kenseth4.Tony Stewart5.Kyle Busch6.Kevin Harvick7.Ryan Newman8.Brad Keselowksi9.Kurt Busch10.Jeff Gordon11.Greg Biffle12.Mark Martin13.Jeff Burton14.Denny Hamlin15.Clint Bowyer16.Kasey Kahne17.A.J. Allmendinger18.Dale Earnhardt, Jr.19.Martin Truex, Jr.20.Joey Logano21.Brian Vickers22.Marcos Ambrose23.Juan Pablo Montoya24.David Ragan25.Paul Menard26.Regan Smith27.Jamie McMurray28.David Reutimann29.Bobby Labonte30.Casey Mears
Was looking at Johnson, Kenseth, Biffle, Martin, and Burton. Do I need to adjust my meds?
That doesn't look too bad Zippy..No bow-wows..at least not on paper. Johnson and Kenseth are potential top-5 and Biffle, Martin, and Burton are possible top-10s with none of them worse than maybe top-15.
GURU, A special THANKS to you for hanging in there for Guruites. I think it speaks volumes about how dedicated you are to us that you have endured the discomfort you must be going through to keep us informed as only the GURU can. Thank you! R
Thanks Richard...before you recommend me for knighthood...hanging by a thread and watching the clock..been working on Dover Preview this afternoon and as soon as chat is over, I'm going to hit the bed before I finish the preview..if anything just to stretch my "titanium" out...lol..appreciate the kind words...I appreciate each and everyone and I wouldn't want to ever let you down..That's why I give all I got and spent the rest of last Wednesday on morphine, but got through the chat.
Gotta use Mears one more time in another game this year, Guru, and I thought Dover would be the place - but he started&parked last week - is the 13 just gonna run enough to stay in the top 35 now?
Not sure Joanie...they are on limited funds. That's something we'll have to check out and pass along Sunday morning.
Ditto what Richard said!
Guru never dissapoints but Goober, now that's another story . . . lol
Thanks for bringing him into the conversation Zippy...I resemble that remark too...lol
Well, I guess that's going to do it for today..Dover chat Sunday morning at 10:30..until then I hope you have a great week and the force is with you..Sad to say but must "The Guru has left the building, limping and gimping, but head up.............and screaming in pain!"....lol
