Oklahoma City Thunder's Kendrick Perkins will be here at the top of the hour to take your questions!

  (5:02 PM)

We've got Kendrick!

J (MA)

How close do you think the Thunder are for winning the championship? What is needed that wasn't there last year?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:04 PM)

I think we're really close to winning the championship. We just lacked a little experience this year. We're very close. We just have to stay home and keep on with the hard work. The sky is the limit. We have a big scorer in Kevin Durant. We have an all-star in Russell. As long as guys keep working and staying together, we'll be good.

Hey kendrick do you have any intent of playing overseas like many players want to during this lockout?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:04 PM)

Yeah, I thought about it. I'm just trying to decide. I'm waiting to see how far they'll go with the lockout. It's all timing. It will come time to decide. I have thought about it.

Andrew (OK)

Perk, how closely have you been paying attention to this lockout stuff?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:05 PM)

It's my job, so I've been calling and asking about it every day. I'm excited to get back on the court. But right now we're still so far apart. It's my job and my livlihood, so I'm keeping a very close eye on it.

Tyler (Greenville NC)

ESPN has you ranked No. 95 among top nba players, where do you rank yourself?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:06 PM)

I rank myself a little higher than that. I have to be satisfied with that, knowing that I came off of injuries to get there. But I would rank myself a little higher.

Tommy (Madison, WI)

How did it feel playing the dramatic playoff series against the strong frontcourt of the Grizzlies?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:07 PM)

It was a struggle. You have big guys like Zach. It was good battling against those guys. It was fun and very interesting. We got through it, but it was a definite challenge.

Amaan (New Jersey)

Last year, the Thunder in my opinion were lacking that veteran leadership with you in the picture for a whole season, this team is at a whole new level. The Thunder are the most dangerous team in the NBA. Who do you think will challenge you the most?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:08 PM)

You always have to be careful of the young and upcoming teams. The Portland Trail Blazers. You also have to keep a close eye on the Clippers. Griffin, Gordon, Jordan. If I would have to pick any teams that people have to keep a close eye on, it's them. You can't take anything away from Dallas. They're the champions.

Kyle (Oklahoma City)

How are your knees feeling? Do you think you'll be able to lead the league in dunks again next year?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:09 PM)

I've been working hard this summer. They feel great. I'm definitely going to try to get back to my early stages before getting hurt. I'll be playing without my braces. I'm excited to get back out on the court.

Jared (NY)

What, in you opinion, is the key to playing good post defense?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:10 PM)

I think it's all mental, at the end of the day. You just have to have the mindset that you're going to go in and stop somebody. It's a little technique, but it's all mental. I think a lot of people get scared about who they're going up against. So they've already decided they can't defend that person.

Adam (Iowa)

What is the thing you like the most about being a part of the Oklahoma City Thunder?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:11 PM)

I love the city. I love the young group of guys. I love the organization, how they carry themselves. It's a first class organization in everything they do. The guys work hard to give back and try to win for the city. It's amazing to me. It's a good feeling to have a young team that wants to win like those guys do.

Connor Huchton (Texas)

How did you decide on your facial hair combination?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:11 PM)

It's kinda just how I feel at the moment. Sometimes I go with the beard, sometimes I don't. I let my chin hair grow out. It's just in the moment how I feel. If I feel like I had a bad game, and I blame my facial hair, I cut it off.

Alex (West Linn)

Perk do you think the season starts by Jan 1st??

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:12 PM)

I sure hope so! I hope we have one starting by Nov. 1. I know guys are excited and waiting to get back on the court. The fans are waiting. Hopefully we'll be back for the first game of the season.

Alex R (Lawton Ok)

Is chemistry something that is still being worked on, or was it something that occurred naturally when you arrived with the team?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:13 PM)

It's something you have to work on. I think we still have a little ways to go. We have to continue to stay focused. It's definitely hard with a young team. But once you buy into the system and lose yourself within the team, that's when the chemistry becomes strong.

Michael (OKC)

Hey Perk, will you be in Lexington next week working out with the other Thunder players?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:14 PM)

I'm doing my own workouts, but I'll be there. We are scheduled to be in Lexington as a team. Us players will be out there working out at the University of Kentucky.

J. Loesl (Slinger, WI)

Do you root for any MLB or NFL teams/players?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:14 PM)

Yeah, I do have my favorite teams. My favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys. My favorite baseball team is the Red Sox.

Tommy (Madison, WI)

What's your focus of improvement this off-season?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:15 PM)

I just want to get better with being able to finish with either hand. I've been working my left a lot. Strengthing my legs. So I won't have to wear those big dumb knee braces.

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:15 PM)

Oh, and my 15-foot jumpshot I've been working on.

James (NYC)

Hey Perk, my heart supports the players, but my mind is saying the owners will get what they want. Business is business, and I think you guys should settle immediately, before losing a year's pay for no reason. Hope to you guys back.

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:17 PM)

We just have to stick together as players. The owners have a list that they want and we as players have our list. We have to stick together to get what we want, otherwise we'll not be in the position we want. As long as we don't give into what they want, we'll be all right.

Chad (Boston)

No Skyhook in your future?

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:18 PM)

No, I think the skyhook has gone out of style a little bit! You don't see too many players working on the skyhook any more. I think that's more for the 80's.

Kendrick Perkins
  (5:18 PM)

I just want to say hi to my fans in Boston and my fans in Texas. And to the fans in OKC, we're excited about this season and trying to bring the championship to Oklahoma City.
