Welcome to the chat.
What is the Hardest AFC East Team that the Dallas Cowboys will face this season?
Well, they handled the Jets pretty good. The Patriots are struggling a little bit, last in pass defense, Dolphins haven't won game. The Bills? You believe in them?At this stage, the Patriots would be hard to handle, since they haven't lost at home in two years.
Why doesnt Garrett just take the pass option audible out of Romo's hands when the Cowboys are winning late in the game?
Romo won a game by he changed a play in the huddle. The big thing with Romo is to protect the ball, not taking his ability to change plays at the line of scrimmage. Romo won two games late in the season by handling things late in games.
oh and is dez really that out of shape that he cant play a full 60 minutes or do u think that his injury gets sore by the end of the game and therefore he cant play through ... whats his deal ?
No, Dez is not out of shape, his leg is bothering him badly and that prevents him from pushing off so he can beat defenders. If you notice, Bryant is a tough person to tackle, he fights for every yard, but hasn't done that lately due to the leg. He needs to learn to play through injuries, which is a process for some players.
Who do you think will be cut or put on the PS to make way for a roster spot for Bruce Carter? The obvious ones I can think of are Buelher or Ogletree.
When Carter returns at the end of the month, it's possible Buehler might get cut if Dan Bailey takes care of things on field goals. Bailey is the key in all of this. The Cowboys have to trust him on field goals and kickoffs in order to let Buehler go. If that's the case, Buehler is gone. I can't see the team cutting Ogletree right now.Yes, Laurent Robinson has surpassed him on the depth chart, but it's still early in the season.
Cosidering you get a up close and personal view of the players in the locker room. What are your oppinions of Dez's off the field focus. I know he can be a beast on the field; but, do you see the passion and hard work off the field that he expresses on the field.
Bryant works hard off the field. He's still a young guy and he is getting to meetings on time and the such. But it's a struggle sometimes.
The Cowboys could easily be 4-0. Are they good enough to get hot, a la the 2007 Giants?
Well, if they beat the Patriots, the Cowboys would be in nice shape to knock off St. Louis and be 4-2 heading to Philadelphia. That's the key. beating the Eagles before they fix themselves.
Hello Calvin,Why is it that all i have heard this week is Romo is a average QB at best. Romo does not understand how to play QB. Romo is a choke artist. Do you think this is fair? More importanly can he and will he lead this team to the Playoffs?
Romo has led the Cowboys in the playoffs three times in his career. Won two division titles. But he's also lost some gams for the Cowboys. He's a good quarterback but not an elite quarterback. He needs to take a team on a deep playoff run and I'm not sure if he can do that, based on what I've seen the first four weeks of the season. It might be time to draft a quarterback.
CW,Is Tyron Smith meeting expectations so far? Do you see him playing left tackle by his 3 rd year? How good can this group be next year?
Smith has allowed just one sack this season and despite a few penalties, has played well. Doug Free is the starting left tackle, but I can see Smith getting snaps there in the future. Maybe in his third season, maybe sooner. Smith has the athletic ability to play left tackle.
The Patriots lost to the Jets in the playoffs at home, why does everyone forgetthat?
Nobody respects the Jets, that's why.
So if Garret didn't ran the ball with 5 or less minutes remaining in week 1, and cost him the game, why does he did the same mistake against the Lions with 4 minutes left in the game?
Let's review the final four minutes of that game. The Cowboys led 30-27 and Romoe first pass after that score was intercepted. The Lions scored a touchdown to take a 34-30 lead. After that the Cowboys were forced to pass. Now before that, with the team up 27-3, they should have ran the ball more, but failed to do so and Jason Garrett said that.
GEEZE PEOPLE! It isnt that hard to comprehend the fact that Romo's life would be much easier if we had a RELIABLE running game. I love Jones and Choice, but one of the gears in executing the running game isnt there. Holes, Blocking, Scheme, lack of burst at the right time. IT MUST be fixed
Ben,There is nothing wrong with the running game. It's fine. Jason Garrett just needs to use it. Felix Jones and Tashard Choice a good running backs, they just need to get it going.
Should Dallas trade Romo for Rodgers? Tony makes too many mistakes! Seriously though, how should Dallas plan to attack New England? Heavy dose of run or through the air against that brutal secondary?
If I'm the Cowboys, and some of you might not like this, I might pass the ball on the Patriots. The secondary isn't that good and I think they can't cover Austin and Bryant for 60 minutes.
Sure, trade Romo. LOL
I agree that drafting a quarterback in the next draft is essential, but should a qb be targeted and possibly moving draft picks or valuable players to get one?
Say the Cowboys don't make the postseason and get a pick from 10-12. There should be a quarterback worth getting. Trading for one won't do it. Get a draft pick and develop him.
Do you think that the cowboys can get pressure on brady next week to disrupt a little bit ? because i saw our pass rush disappear in the second half of the lions game
Worried about the pass rush against empty backfields is my problems. The Lions went heavy with this formation last week and Bradford was in pretty good shape taking care of things. Cowboys have to find a way to solve these problems.
What is the word on Austin? Good to go after the bye?
Austin will play vs. the Pats. If not, then you got real problems. You can't beat the Patriots without him.
You surely have some inside info. Is Felix starting to wear out his welcome within the organization? And why is Choice so under-used?
No, I think Felix Jones is fine. Nobody liked how he messed up the end of the game vs. the Lions last week, but for the most part, he's a good enough back for what the Cowboys do.
Time to go guys. See ya.
