Chat with Ohm Youngmisuk

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

Hey guys, what's up?

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

Do you think that we will see CB Prince Akuamara back with the Giants against Buffalo?

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

I'd doubt it. Coughlin said last week to ask about Prince after the Bye week which is after this game.

Pete (MI)

SPARTY SUCKS!!!

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

Looking forward to Saturday.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Hi Ohm! I'm 3-2 and about to face some bye weeks. Any players I should look to add in a 10 team league? Also, I own Nicks and was thinking of adding Victor Cruz. Bad idea to own 2 Giants WR's? Thanks!

Ohm
  (2:05 PM)

Hi Rach. Definitely add Cruz if he is still available. I don't know who is available on your waiver wire but I guess I'd be looking at Tim Tebow for sure. Harry Douglas could be an option if Julio Jones is going to be out. Earnest Graham could be an option at RB if Blount is out. Ryan Torain is another option at RB if he hasn't been claimed.

John(Cranbury, NJ) [via mobile]

Ohm, no slackin' on Giants coverage this week cuz your Spartans play UM this weekend. What do you think is more important to stop first this week, Fred Jackson and the run game or Fitz and his no-name to big-game receivers?

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

I think stopping Fred Jackson is important not just in the running game but also passing game as well. Buffalo is not going to be easy but if they can get pressure on Fitzpatrick, that would help.

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

Giants need to take care of the football and find a way to run the ball.

Tim (New Haven, CT)

My man Ohm! Uniform Question. Giants-Jets play on Christmas Eve. Will the Giants wear their red alternate uniforms to do a red and green theme? That would be really corny but pretty awesome. Holla if ya hear me!

Ohm
  (2:07 PM)

I hear you. But no idea. My guess is they would go traditional because it's the Jets. But no idea.

RJ (NY)

Since the Giants seem to play up/down to their level of competition every week, someone might want to make sure to tell them that the Bills are good this year

Ohm
  (2:08 PM)

I think they know that and the loss to Seattle helps in that aspect. I can see them bouncing back.

Otto (NJ)

Whats up Ohm? Fewell has to be on the hot seat right? I mean only letting up 17 points to the Sheagles (Creamed Team) and then Seahawks going in and pillaging the GMen D like that has to be some concern.

Ohm
  (2:08 PM)

Nope, no hot seat. It's only Week 5.

Kyle (NJ)

Hey Ohm, gun to your head - is TC back next year?

Ohm
  (2:09 PM)

Hey Kyle, I'm not into speculating about head coaches' jobs in Week 5. Ask me at the end of the season. Kinda unfair right now to speculate about a dude's livelihood, ya know.

Michael C. (Westport, CT)

It seems to me that Justin Tuck does a lot of talking and check cashing for someone who barely plays. Shouldn't the Giants cut their losses and cut this walking Mash unit once the season ends?

Ohm
  (2:10 PM)

Mike C, are you serious? He's the team's defensive captain and a stand-up individual. He's a warrior man. If he's not playing, it's because he's hurt and he is definitely concerned about his neck and long-term health.

Ben (Orlando)

Spartan!!! I know we are still early into the season, but, let's say GMen don't make it to the playoffs, what is the probability that Reese gets canned??? I'd really like a new GM who would finally accept that we are thin at key positions such as LBs and OL. We need new direction for this team, thoughts?

Ohm
  (2:11 PM)

Man, you guys are on a roll. Everybody wants to fire somebody. I don't see Reese losing his job. If anybody gets fired because of a bad season and failure to make the playoffs, it will likely fall on the head coach.

Ed Hochuli (Chat Ref)

15 yard personal fouls will be called on anyone in this chat who still calls the NFC East the NFC Beast. Your guys division is the second worst in football. That will be all. Please carry on.

Ohm
  (2:12 PM)

There you go NFC East fans, Ed Hercules has spoken.

Mark (DC)

Just when I was starting to buy into the Giants, they lose a game at home to one of the worst teams in football. I'm sorry, but playoff caliber teams don't do that. This team is destined for 7-9 or 8-8 at best

Ohm
  (2:13 PM)

Quite possible. All I know is, the Giants have to make up for this Seattle loss by now upsetting a team that they were expected to lose to. It's not impossible. They do tend to play up to the level of their competition. But the margin for error just got a lot smaller with that loss. Their schedule is horrific in the second half.

Ryan (NY)

What do you make of Pierce calling out Tuck? Seems to me like he should keep his mouth shut, since he doesn't know how badly he's hurt

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

I think AP just was saying that the Giants need their leaders on the field and they really need Tuck and Jacobs. But I don't like to question a guy's health unless it is a perennial problem.

Drew ((NY))

Wut up Big OHM, Who has better stats from week 6 to the end of the season, Manningham or Cruz?

Ohm
  (2:15 PM)

Hard to say. But the way Cruz has played the last three weeks, it appears the Giants are gaining big-time trust in this guy and bottom line is he makes plays.

Matt (Class)

ohm, what is the key to improvement here? i cant get confident in this team until the Oline decides to play. Gotta run the ball and give easy E some time in the pocket. then again we can't stop the run either...

Ohm
  (2:16 PM)

Got to stop the run and establish the run. Might take some time to establish the run. Snee could be out this week with a concussion. Baas still recovering from burner injury. But one thing is certain, they won't survive 5 turnovers against a really good team let alone Seattle.

keith (Queens, NY)

I am a Giant die hard, but it appears to me that this bunch is honestly a middle of the road team. Injuries have really hurt them and I just cannot see them sustaining any kind of consistency this year. This is the giants team we're going to get all year it's a week to week bunch. Ohm, would you diasgree?

Ohm
  (2:18 PM)

I'm not going to disagree but I will say that they can't afford many more injuries and they need Tuck back. Giants need to stop the run. Offensively, Eli has been putting up numbers and can win games with the weapons they have now. But they CAN'T beat themselves with turnovers and penalties and defensive breakdowns. Those things are things that can be fixed but the Giants love to make things hard on themselves and the schedule is going to get tougher. I can still see a scenario in which they win 10 games. But they easily could win just eight.

Brian (NJ)

In the last three weeks the Bills have picked off two of the best QB's in the NFL 4 times each (Brady/Vick). Do you see the Giants keeping the ball on the ground more than usual because of Eli's interception history?

Ohm
  (2:19 PM)

Buffalo is playing great. I think the Giants will try to pound the ball even if it is not there. But sooner or later, they'll have to air it out.

Tony (PA)

Yo Ohmie what is going on dude!! HEy what in the heck is going on it seemed like the giants decided 2 take sunday off if not for those couple of seatlle turnovers this game would of been a blow out by them whats ur take OHMSTER

Ohm
  (2:20 PM)

I think they came out flat defensively and then played themselves back into the game, with help from Seattle. But when you have to play from behind week after week, sooner or later it will burn you. They couldn't hold onto the lead twice in the fourth, made some mistakes, then penalties killed them and the turnovers.

Ohm
  (2:21 PM)

They can't overcome those kinds of mistakes.

RJ (NY)

Sparty is a 2 point favorite this week... should be a great game. What's your prediction? I got Sparty 34-28, winning on a last minute Denard Robinson interception

Ohm
  (2:22 PM)

I hope so. I think MSU is going to win a very tough game. My biggest concerns: Kirk Cousins has not played well at all this season but he has had a bye to figure things out. The offensive line has not been able to block and MSU can't run. And, there's no Greg Jones to shadow Denard and the MSU secondary might give up big plays. With all that being said, defensive front is playing well and MSU is going to be amped big time.

Tony (PA)

Go Spartans put Robinson on his BUTT!!!!

Ohm
  (2:22 PM)

Finally, some Spartan supporters. LOL.

Keith (Queens, NY)

Will the Giants be able to get the pitiful run game going against the Bills?

Ohm
  (2:23 PM)

Keith, hard to say. It's funny, you know, because let's say no Snee or Baas this week. Then you got Boothe and Cordle in or maybe perhaps Petrus. Last year, the Giants offensive line managed to do things despite all the injuries. So perhaps they will be able to get it going just when you think they can't. But it is going to be hard without Snee.

Ryan (NY)

Fantasy help: I hate to take Stafford out, but he's going up against a good SF defense, while Rothliesberger is up against the pathetic Jags... who should I play?

Ohm
  (2:24 PM)

I'd roll with Stafford, even with the match-up.

ASN (NY)

Do you think Eli Manning is treated harshly because of his name? He's been bashed because of the interceptions last year, though Drew brees, who has the same number of rings, had only 2 less. This week, he has a bad week and people are bashing him way more then the way Brady was bashed for his 4 pick game against Buffalo. What gives with the treatment the media and fans give Eli compared to other big name QBs?

Ohm
  (2:25 PM)

I actually think he played well. Now, the first INT, was bad. And that big touchdown to Cruz was a fortunate throw since he threw against double coverage. The INT that went off Cruz's hands... while it was thrown into a tight space, not completely his fault. And the last one, he was just trying to get things going at the end. I don't think people are killing Eli this week for that loss. The Giants lost that game.

Tony (PA)

Ohmie Cruzs goes from hero to goat?????

Ohm
  (2:26 PM)

I wouldn't call him goat. But my man VC has a way of being a magnet for dramatic plays, both good and bad.

Tony (PA)

Hey Ohmster you rock at coverin the gmen . what do u think 8-8 season

Ohm
  (2:26 PM)

I predicted 10-6 in April when schedule came out. I am sticking to it.

Bill Parcells (ESPN Studio)

Ohm's Law, If the honorable Mara and Tisch hire me for GM, rest assured Giants fans, I will fine you playmakers at the LB position and create a wall upfront for Eli. I know how to fix this Ohm, you think I can't get this done?

Ohm
  (2:27 PM)

I don't ever doubt Parcells. My only problem is Bill stays around for like two-three years and is gone. But much respect to Bill.

Jeff Fisher (Tenn)

Ohm, you know of any good towns in the NJ-NYC area I can move the family to when I'm HC for the team you cover next year?

Ohm
  (2:27 PM)

Fisher is as good as they come.

Kevin (MA)

Ohm, you do some great work man, always enjoy reading your articles..Fantasy question, I need a TE because of Bye weeks, do you think Jake Ballard is a good add this week,I figure this will be a close game and Eli will have to throw and would be looking to his big TE.

Ohm
  (2:29 PM)

Thanks man. Ballard is emerging into a viable play. But they rarely go the TE. You'd have to hope for like three receptions and a touchdown. I still would probably feel more comfortable with a TE in an offense that goes to the TE more.

Plax (Rey Ryan's couch)

Come on Ohm, as a fellow Spartan, even I have a tough time seeing how we can beat the wolverines this week. We will struggle to cover Dernard, he's going to be the difference in the game. By the way, I sure think I messed up and should of signed with the OTHER NY team, thoughts bro?

Ohm
  (2:30 PM)

You clearly don't know Plaxico. He thinks MSU is going to win every game. LOL. I don't think he messed up because I don't think he would have been happy playing for TC.

Rex Ryan (NY)

Have you ever seen me so quiet?

Ohm
  (2:30 PM)

I don't like it, not one bit.

Matt Millen (Not in Detroit)

Ohm, do you think Giants would consider trading Osi for LB help? I'd do it in a heartbeat for Briggs, thoughts?

Ohm
  (2:31 PM)

I don't see it happening. Especially with Tuck's health a question mark.

Matt (Class)

ohm, im taking my girl to her first nyg game this sunday. i already told her i can't tame the beast when i'm with my gmen, any advice for the lady?

Ohm
  (2:32 PM)

Just tell her to cheer for your team and don't flirt with men who hit on her because I am sure that happens at every game. LOL.

Benjamin (Concord)

Mario Manningham is going to be a free agent, what do the Giants do with him?

Ohm
  (2:33 PM)

I still think they bring him back.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What is the Hottest & the Coldest New York Giants Football Game that you have ever been to?

Ohm
  (2:33 PM)

Coldest is Green Bay by far in NFC title game. As for hot, I don't really recall any one standing out.

Tony (PA)

Yo ohmie do u think we got a shot at buffalo cause that schedule is gunna start gettin pretty brutal fast

Ohm
  (2:34 PM)

Yup, they got a shot to beat the Bills. Fewell knows that team, despite new personnel there. Giants got to play better and I think they will raise their game. But they got to play disciplined, no turnovers, limit the penalties.

Ken (Brooklyn, NY)

The Giants need David Baas and Justin Tuck back. Those guys will play key factors in this game. What do you think the Giants should do to attack the Bills' weak spot? Does the Bills show any sign of weaknesses?

Ohm
  (2:37 PM)

Come on now, it's not like the Buffalo Bills are the second coming of the Montana 49ers. They got weaknesses. The Giants need to play much better on defense, get pressure on Fitzpatrick, Giants offense needs to take care of the football and cut down on false start penalties and what not. Giants have a chance. But they definitely got flaws with the lack of a running game and inability to stop the run.

Brian (NJ)

After the Colts draft Luck and release Peyton and the Giants sign him, who backs up who? Eli still the starter?

Ohm
  (2:37 PM)

Nice scenario but that would only happen in fantasy football. LOL.

Kyle (NJ)

I think the NFC "Beast" winner could have a 9-7 record. Your thoughts?

Ohm
  (2:38 PM)

Quite possible. I'm still not counting out the Eagles. I think they got too much talent. I still find it hard to believe the Redskins will win the NFC East.

LL (MI)

Hey Ohmie,I know you're busy, just wanted to let you know of a big blue truck headed your way this saturdey;it's a dangerous truck #11 in the nation. Thanks buddy and happy holidays.....losers!!!

Ohm
  (2:38 PM)

Last I checked, Michigan has lost three straight to little brother.

Ken (Brooklyn, NY)

What is the status of Brandon Jacobs? I noticed the Bills have a tough time stopping the run and have yet to test Jacobs' strength...

Ohm
  (2:40 PM)

No update yet. I saw Jacobs last night at a function with a bunch of youth football players and he was jogging at one point with no limp on the field to go to the bathroom. But that doesn't mean much when it comes to playing. We'll have to see what happens on Wednesday in practice.

matt (vernon, nj)

Ohm, do you think the giants will make the playoffs this year honestly?

Ohm
  (2:40 PM)

Matt, they got a shot. But they are going to have to upset at least one or two teams down the stretch here after losing a game they should not have to Seattle.

Primo (Manhattan, NY)

The last two weeks the Giants played felt like trap games. Fitzpatrick is looking good. Do you think the Giants D have enough pressure against him? Did he ever played in this much pressure in his past games? And how's my boy Tuck doing?

Ohm
  (2:41 PM)

I think the coaching staff will have their attention this week. Not that they didn't the last two weeks but I don't think this is a trap game. Buffalo is good. They know it. As for Tuck, we have to see how he feels each day. Always subject to change.

Tom Coughlin (NYC)

Would you kindly tell Mr Parcells that he was late to the chat and to drop and give me 50...if he can. Thanks Ohm.

Ohm
  (2:42 PM)

I think Parcells was on with Lupica on ESPN NY 1050.

Ohm
  (2:42 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for the questions. Good luck to your teams this weekend!
