Welcome to the chat. Let's get going.
Calvin, do you forsee Bruce Carter starting for the Boys next year? Replacing James?
Yes, sir I do. The Cowboys have high hopes for Carter and he seems to know the defense. Now it's just a matter of taking what he knows in the classroom and moving it to the football field.
So you think the Cowboys will sign T.O.?
To do what?
Who is the Worst NFL Team that the Dallas Cowboys faces this season?
St. Louis Rams. They were bad to watch in person and on tape. The quarterback is hurt, the defense isn't that good and it seems the team has taken a step back.
Hey Calvin... Why is everyone making a big deal about the eagles stopping Ryan T from washington for 22 yards. They are terrible. I say no way they can stop Murray on the ground Sunday. What do you think?
Murray got 253 vs. the Rams I wouldn't think he gets 100 vs. the Eagles. They did play better vs. the Redskins two weeks ago so the run defense is getting better.
calvinits david job in dallas over?
Buehler said he's making the trip to Philly to kickoff.
Any truth to the rumor that Koiser could slide over to center to take my spot with Dockery and Holland at g?
No. You're staying at center.
hey Calvin, do you know which player got the axe to make room for bruce carter
I would think Jesse Holley. He's been moved to the scout team on special teams and Carter is getting time with the first-team. Another candidate is Kevin Ogletree, who hasn't developed into a consistent performer. Tashard Choice. But he's hurt right now. Got an MRI today on his shoulder. David Buehler, but he's coming to Philadelphia.
Will Felix ever start again?
Yes. Jones has been a good running back for the Cowboys but with DeMarco Murray emerging into a presence, the Cowboys might open the job up. For that to happen, Murray needs to have a strong game vs. the Eagles on Sunday night.
I know the Eagles are a good team and quite dangerous coming off the bye and with their record. However it appears that very few people are giving the Cowboys a chance in this game. What do you think?
The Eagles are 12-0 after bye weeks with Andy Reid as their coach. During that time, the Eagles have beaten their opponents by an average of 10.6 points. Take the Eagles.
Quote of the day from Rob Ryan: "If they need my motivation to get ready to play us, then we're gonna kick their ass anyway. It ain't going to matter."
How are Romo's ribs doing? What about Dockery?
Romo will need another shot to play this week and is still using his vest. Dockery is feeling better and could be active on Sunday.
hey Calvin who do you think will cover DeSean Jackson? Scandrick?
If Jackson is in the slot, then yes, Scandrick is on him. If Jackson is wide, expect either Newman or Jenkins to take him on. The Cowboys will also put some extra attention to Jackson's side in terms of safety help on Sunday. The Cowboys want to curtail the big play offense of the Eagles.
The safeties have played well when coming forward (blitzing & run support) . Have they improved (mainly Sensabaugh) in deep coverage?
The key to the safeties is getting challenged. Only one team really came after them and that was Detroit, which was behing. New England threw a lot of medium passes so the safety play wasn't a big factor in terms of the big passing game. Sunday night could be different.
Calvin, did the staff overestimate Bill Nagy? He never seemed to play at a starting caliber level.
Nagy was a starter until he broke his ankle.
So why is it that Dez Bryant still telegraphs his routes?
He's not a very good route runner and he's trying to make sure he runs to the right spot. But Romo gets him the ball regardless of what route he's running.
Looks like 30s/20s for temps at kickoff. Who do you think that benefits?
DeMarco Murray told me today he thinks that's good weather to play in. It's supposed to snow on Saturday but it should be clear on Sunday. Take the Eagles.
Do you see any Cowboys receiver having more receiving yards Sunday night then Murray will have rushing?
Good question. I do like the Cowboys receivers, Austin and Bryant, to outgain the running backs duo of Murray and Tanner and possibly Choice. Jason Garrett talks about a balanced attack and Murray should get about 15 carries and Tanner and Choice will should get the rest.
With Leigh Bodden getting released from NE you think Dallas will show some interest?...I know our corners are playing lights out right now but you can never have too many corners....
Cowboys have four good corners in Scandrick, Jenkins, Newman and Walker. No need to add someone else.
Guys thanks for the time. Take care.
