Melissa Jacobs
  (3:00 PM)

Happy Week 8 everyone! Glad to see some familiar faces lined up. Ready for your fantasy questions.

Jose (California)

ROS,Deangelo or Delone? I'm struggling to figure out why I should continue to hold onto Deangelo

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:02 PM)

Good question Jose. DeAngelo is a major disappointment, not even the best RB on his team. Carter is hot (2 TDs in last 3 games) and could very well remain the starter ROS. So Delone.

kat (stillwater)

Good afternoon! Who would you start this weekend --- (1) Battle or Moreno and (2) Little or Demaryius Thomas? Thanks!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:03 PM)

Hi Kat,(1) Battle - Moreno's too much of a question mark. (2) D. Thomas - Benefits from Tebow. Will get plenty of targets.

Romo (Philly)

Me or Stafford week 8 ?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:03 PM)

You, Tony. Definitely you.

Nick (MN)

Hey thanks a lot for the advice on picking up Delone Carter last week (gave my fantasy seaon some hope!). I'm wondering this week if I should start Hillis or Hardesty assuming Hillis will share carries and may be limited?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:05 PM)

Yes, my obligatory Niners-related question! I think Hardesty will see more action, if not all - Hillis is still nursing the hamstring. But be warned... the Niners haven't allowed a rushing TD this season. Love that stat. Sorry!

Anthony (Miami,Fl)

Melissa, I need a running back is DeMarco Murray a good pick up?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:06 PM)

1000%, yes. (Dorky Randy Jackson American Idol impersonation)

Gloria (Chandler, AZ)

What should I do about my Brandon Marshall problem?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:06 PM)

No TD since Week 2 is frustrating. But he is getting targets (and receptions) from Matt Moore. Good matchup vs. the Giants this week. I'd still start him.

Mark (San jose)

Melissa, does McGahee get the starting job once he returns or does Moreno or Ball get the carries?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:07 PM)

Hi Mark,Unless Moreno kills it out there, I would think so. McGahee's surely earned it. Who would have thought he'd be such a stellar every down back at this point in his career.

LittleRon (WV)

Afternoon Melissa, Non-PPR. Please help select WR2 & Flex from Little, D. Thomas, Tolbert, Torain, Battle.... Thanks

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:08 PM)

Hmmm. I like D. Thomas and Battle of those options.

Tony (Fayetteville, AR)

I have Beanie Wells and Mark Ingram on my team, how are things looking with them? Also I picked up Bernard Scott this week incase one of them cant go but Moreno, Helu, and Morris are still FA should I drop scott and pick one of them up or should I just pick one up incase both my RB's cant go, if so who?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:10 PM)

Ingram is likely out. Chris Ivory should pick up a big chunk of his work. Wells made a surprise return to practice so thats a wait and see. I think Scott may be the safest bet for you, and maybe Morris as well.

DAN (Rochester, NY)

Thanks for the advice on starting Brees over Tebow last week. What do I with Andre Johnson this week? Put him in and hope he plays or go with a slug from my bench? Did give you a shout out on our fantasy message board.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:11 PM)

Why thanks Dan! Actually, the Texans are sitting Johnson again. Reported about an hour ago. Sorry.

Anthony (The Swamp)

Need to pick between Damian Williams and Jared Cook. WR Get 1 ppr and te's get 2. Or should I drop hasselback and use Kyle Rudolph with Shiancoe out?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:13 PM)

I believe Shiancoe is playing. Cook is building good rapport with Hasselbeck. But I'd go with Williams who has been productive as of late (minus the head injury that made him miss time last week)

J.B. (PA)

Afternoon, MJ. Looking forward to your input. Just picked up C.J. Spiller in a trade as a throw-in. Would you keep him or grab Alphonso Smith from the WW (he's sitting there ripe for the picking).

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:15 PM)

He's looking more productive as a WR, but that should be ok. Stick with Spiller.

Stuart (Brooklyn, NY)

Hi Melissa. Do I use Meachem or Clark in my flex spot?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:17 PM)

I'd opt for Clark. Meachem's production has really fallen since Colston has returned.

Mark (San jose)

Hi Melissa, happy friday. Will Wayne start scoring so TD's in the near future? The more reps with Painter the better? I know Garcon seems to be his target, but Im hoping Wayne starts to get his share. Thanks again.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:18 PM)

You would think. But Wayne is getting more attention from secondaries. Painter doesn't have the precision to overcome that like Manning did. Maybe coverage will shift week to week. He's still such a weapon that I'd be patient.

Neal(slc) [via mobile]

Melissa do you think Braylon plays Sunday? How do you see the rest of his season going if he can get healthy. Kc Joyner had some positive things to say about he and Alex Smith in the vertical passing game. Thanks.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:21 PM)

It really seems like a 50/50 situation. Would like to see him have a good, full practice. But I agree with KC on Smith and Braylon in the vertical passing game. It's a missing element in the offense right now. Braylon's a good pickup for the ROS, in my unbiased opinion.

Dan (LA)

Hey MJ, on a 4 game win streak (just so happens to coincide with my attendance of your chats) and wondering what to do with my RB2 in a PPR: MoMo Ducky, Knowshon, Battle, Reggie Bush or Scott? I know, I'm the richest man in the junkyard.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:23 PM)

Ugh...Probably Battle on those choices. Definitely not Bush or Knowshon.

flex (a stadium near you)

Hello, lynch, jacobs, moreno or breaston as a week 8 flex ?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:24 PM)

I like Breaston here. He is seeing decent targets and may get an increase with the Chargers defense focused on Bowe.

Tim (Seattle)

Started following your chat last week on the reccomedation of your homegirl Stephy Bad News and enjoyed it. I plan on being pretty hungover on Sunday may not be able to alter my line up Sunday morning. should I risk playing Andre Johnson my only bench option would be Greg Little due to byes?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:26 PM)

Thanks Tim - and thanks SBN for recommending me! As mentioned earlier, Johnson is out Sunday. So Little it is. Maybe you should scour your add/drop list?

Anthony (Mired in Mediocrity)

In full PPR, have Torain, Mendenhall, Tolbert, P. Thomas, Hardesty. Need 2

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:27 PM)

I'd probably take Torain and Mendenhall, especially since both may see most action of your options.

Dave (D.C.)

What do you think about Roy Helu's prospects now that Hightower is out? I need a RB, and he was the best available I thought

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:28 PM)

Can you ask me again in a week? Not surprisingly, the Skins are staying mum on their starter this week. I suspect it will be Torain but Shanahan is likely going with the hot hand..I mean, feet.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What is the Best & the Worst NFL Stadium that you have been to?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:31 PM)

Was recently at M&T BankStadium in Baltimore and was really impressed. Worst is a tie between FedEx Field and Candlestick. Not find of the monstrosity in Dallas either.

J.B. (PA)

Your Halloween candy is at stake. Who do you start this week - Antonio Brown vs a porous NE secondary OR Victor Cruz against the Miami Luck Chasers?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:33 PM)

Oh, the pressure. I'm pretty lathered about Brown's last game (over 100 yards), so would opt for him. Bring on the Snickers!

Melanie (New York)

Hey Melissa, I love your chats! Is Plaxico for real or was last week just a blip on the radar?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:34 PM)

Hi Melanie,A week ago I was recommending dropping Plaxico. He had been running lazy routes and having drop issues. But can't den last week's productivity. He's for real. For now.

joey (oregon)

Should i play the steelers D or pick up a new D?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:35 PM)

Brady does throw INTs so the Steelers aren't a terrible play. But there are so many crappy matchups (NO/STL, IND/TEN, MIA, NYG, etc), I'd find my defense there.

jaime (florida)

do u trust marshawn lynch, or should i go with leon washington or c.j.. spiller

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:37 PM)

I do trust Lynch but not a bad idea to handcuff him with Leon Washington. The running game will continue to be emphasized there.

Tebowing (Hipsterville)

How did I happen?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:37 PM)

C'mon man. Not ready to start my Tebow drinking game.

Sam (Stamford)

Cassel or Hasselbeck this week?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:40 PM)

I might say Cassel on another week but I like The Hass this week. Indy has given up a league high 14 passing touchdowns.

Benny (Philly)

Good Afternoon Magical Melissa!! Would you consider dropping Reggie Wayne for Demaryius Thomas at WR3 for this week and ROS in a Standard League? Thank you!!!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:41 PM)

Why hello Benny! I'm high on Thomas and down on Wayne, but I don't know about that. Denver facing several Top 10 passing defenses in coming weeks. And Reggie Wayne is clearly the superior talent...and the Colts will often be behind.

Shelly (SF)

What about Delanie Walker? Is he a good pickup?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:42 PM)

Well, he is the second best TE on his own team....and the second best TE in the NFC West. Obviously he's not as valuable in PPR leagues, but the Niners see to have some end zone plays designed for him. I'd take him over a lot of other TEs.

J.B. (PA)

But how excited can you be about Burress, MJ? Much like real estate, his production last week was a product of location, location, location (under 30 yards in receptions but all red zone grabs).

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:44 PM)

Who cares, Sanchez will now be fishing for him in the end zone. That's great news for Burress owners who suffered through the first six weeks.

Chip (NC)

Hi Melissa- Andre's out and I need WR help! M Jenkins or David Nelson in std scoring. Also, in PPR D Nelson, R Wayne or S Breaston? Thanks!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:45 PM)

I'd take Nelson in the standard league - and Wayne in the PPR.

J.B. (PA)

Follow up to Joey's question: You'd drop a WR to pick up that fill-in defense though, right? There are a bunch of those out there but not so much defenses like Pittsburgh.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:45 PM)

Yes, DO NOT DROP the Steelers defense. Sorry to not clarify.

J.B. (PA)

True or False, MJ: The Daily Show is a much better play ROS than D-Willy.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:46 PM)

Yes, he seems to be. Williams just doesn't look like a top flight RB out there any more. And RB emphasis is obviously down in Carolina.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:47 PM)

Thanks for joining me everyone. Sorry to cut this short but as always, I'll answer any of your questions on Twitter. Appreciate it and look forward to next week. Hope the advice pays off!
