Good morning gang! In my hand, the second cup of coffee. So let's get started for an hour of fantasy chattage! Who is up first?
My top two RBs have been McFadden and Bradshaw. How concerned should I be?
I think DMC may return this week, but Ahmad I have doubts this week, though I do think he comes back at some point.
AJ--scoring ? Why does a pick 6 by the QB count as PA against the defense?
Because as soon as the change of possession occurs, the offense "becomes" the defense.
Darrius Heyard-Bey single handedly killed me this week. What happened to him?
One of those things that happen in an offense without a clear WR pecking order. Moore and Ford were more in tune with what Raiders wanted to do.
Do you really think the Felix Jones would be the starter when Murray is running so well?
I do not think Felix returns to the same role. I'd expect a time-share, but Murray will get 70 percent.
whats up with Beanie Wells and what should I expect for the ROS?
He'll be hurt the whole year and depending on how he feels in a given week, 10-15 carries seems reasonable to expect.
A WR with 2 hamstring issue's going forward shouldnt help Mr. Austin correct?
Austin's MRI will tell the tale, but expect Laurent Robinson in the starting lineup Week 10.
Julio Jones a legit WR2 ROS?
Absolutely a legit threat on a weekly basis. I don't think he does it every week, but in the week's he doesn't, Roddy should. It's as good a 1-2 punch as any.
Schaub looked very average yesterday. Do you think this is due to a bigger RB contribution, or the fact he's missing Andre?
Getting it done on the ground and not needing to pass is a big part, and of course, not having AJ certainly doesn't help. I'd certainly sit him for better options until Johnson is back on the field, but I don't think there's anything *wrong* here.
Do you think H.Nicks will play sunday?
I give him better odds than Bradshaw.
Will F Jax eat up Dallas D this coming week? F-Jax had a rare average game yesterday.
Not too excited over this one, but still would expect 100 and a score.
Aj- should I sell Roy Helu high?
Only in the sense that you really don't want the Shanahan headache.
Are the Browns the least-fantasy relevant NFL team in history?
I don't know about that, the Seahawks of the past few years have been sad in terms of having anyone to hang your hat on... but certainly, with Hillis, MoMa and Hardesty out, there's a fantasy black hole here.
Is it worth relying on Branch in the coming weeks? I keep waiting for the Pats to snap out of it and start putting up points...so I keep playing Branch as my options are limited as Breaston is all I have on the bench!
They're not an inept offense, but look at the pecking order: Welker, Hernandez, Gronk, RB of the week, then Branch. I'd rather start Breaston.
I have issues at WR due to injuries and will need a player for week 11. I picked up J. Baldwin last week thinking his matchup against NE would be good. But this week he goes 1 catch for 12 yards... T. Smith, Simpson, J. Jones and Ford are available. Who would you add if any?
You're over-thinking. It's not like Cassel threw for 400 yards and Baldwin wasn't a part of things... KC as a team underwhlemed. Similarly, just because Ford had a great day, next week he could easily vanish. When you're dealing with similar talents, each week is a roll of the dice, and if you start chasing, you'll end up guessing wrong more than getting it right.
AJ, what is the value of torrey smith when lee evans comes back....
When? You mean *if* he comes back. I don't expect to see Evans until December, if at all, and by then, Smith will have done more than enough to keep his spot in the pecking order.
I just traded for C Johnson (TEN), can I take yesterday's performance as a good sign he is turning his season around?
Not sure you can. After all a LOT of his yardage came on just two plays. The good news is that he had those plays, so it's a positive, but to say "He's back?" Not yet.
Do you expect Laurent Robinson to be a reliable ppr option as long as Miles Austin is out?
Sure. The Cowboys will throw so 4 grabs a game is not crazy to expect.
Fantasy League Question - team has 2 ties, who goes to playoff - team with more wins or higher winning %?
Use the same tie-breaker as are in your league rules. A 7-7 team has "same record" as a 6-6-2 team.
What kind of trade value does Mcgahee have?
Clearly it is high right now, but generally speaking my answer is always the same here... it doesn't matter what I think, or what you think. Player value is completely dependent on what the guy you're trading with thinks.
How did Jackie Battle actually look yesterday? His fantasy #'s weren't impressive but Miami has been tough against the run. What's your take?
He's no J. Charles. Battle needs a lead to run the ball well, because he isn't really involved in the passing game, so when the Chiefs trail, he has little chance of doing well.
Am I back?
I never thought you left.
Were you impressed with Carson Palmer in his first start? He filled in admirably for stafford yesterday and helped me win.
He looked good, but still very rusty. But would I say I was impressed? Not really. Oakland has a lot of flaws, but he certainly gives them more balance than Campbell ever did.
Is Eric Decker an every week flex play? Over guys like Jabar Gaffney and Jackie Battle?
He's the best option of Denver WR, but because Tebow is not going to be throwing all that much, he really needs to find the end zone to be worth the flex play. I'd probably go with Battle ahead of him, but take the gamble over Gaffney.
Is Greg Little droppable for someone like Breaston or L Robinson. Or is he worth stashing awhile longer?
I'd drop him, simply because without a real running game and as much WR support around him, Little's ceiling is much lower.
Reggie Bush...reliable for ROS?
I'm still not sure Thomas doesn't do more when 100 percent, but even so, Bush has done enough lately to make want to see what happens.
How did Lloyd look in his first game with Bradford behind center? Targeting him in a trade but his #s yesterday didn't exactly blow me away.
Have to consider it a wash, since Bradford was so tentative and "off" given his injury. I think the two will hook up a lot more in the next few weeks as the timing develops. But based on Week 9, Lloyd price tag is still low -- which should be good news to you.
What do you think about Antonio Brown ROS? Big Ben loves him whether he's starting or not ...
He solid, certainly as a flex play, and with Ward fading into the sunset, Brown will be in the mix every week.
will i be better this week against st louis or am i that bad
What are people expecting from practice squad level players coming to a new team? I'd be happy with 60 yards if he gets the start in Week 10.
Ponder or Dalton ROS
Ponder, statistically, I think will be better, though Dalton wins more games for his real team.
Can u rank these WR for the rest of the season? V. Jackson, R. White, L. Fitzgerald? Thanks
Jackson, Roddy, Fitz.
Could someone seriously contemplate trading me with Tebow as a backup? Surely I'm too pretty to trade away...
You've got the better supporting cast by light years. But no player should ever be "off the table" in a one-and-done.
ROS : Gore/Branch or Mendy/Green
I'd prefer the Mendy/Green side.
Are they talking about Felix Jones coming back for week 10?
Without having practiced yet, I'd say Week 11 is the likely earliest we shall see him.
What's my value ROS?
You're Marshawn Lynch. Yeah, there's a 100-yard day in there every now and again, but I want no regular share of your efforts.
Any word on how Jhavid Best is doing and if he will be able to return at some point this season.
I'm confident he'll be able to return at some point, but not this week, as he has yet to even be cleared to practice, as far as I know.
Next week; Reggie Wayne or James Jones?
Jones. Colts offense is in a heap of hurt if Dallas can't suit up.
Foster was on the practice squad
Not in Week 9 of the year he broke out, and didn't move to a new team in the middle of the year.
Curious where you see Cam Newton going in standard-format leagues next year? Is he a first-round pick?
Way too early to start thinking about that... too much player movement from year-to-year. But to say Newton has been great? Of course...
Would you drop Little for Pettis? Need a WR3 in a PPR league...
Given Salas is out, yes, it is worth a shot.
What the heck do I do about DHB? What happened to all the targets from previous weeks?
Again, once you change QB's, all bets are off. It doesn't matter who Campbell liked, it only matters who fits best with Palmer, and right now, I'd say that's Jacoby Ford.
Is LeSean McCoy worth hancuffing? And would it be Ronnie Brown or Dion Lewis?
I think if Shady goes down, there's too much drop in talent to make it worth a handcuff.
Better backup QB for Romo ROS.. Matty Ice or Tebow?
I'd go with Tebow, simply because he doesn't have to complete a single pass to have a good fantasy day.
What do u think of Antonio Gates recent performances. A good sign he will stay healthy and be a beast again?
With Gates, I think you're always one play away from his missing the next three games. However, he's still the man when he's on the field, so you play him and hold your breath.
Concerned about Jacobs cutting in to my workload after I get better?
Without surgery, you're not going to get "better" and so it's just a question of playing or not playing.
Worried about Rogers sitting the last few weeks of the season?
I think as long as they are unbeaten, they'll go for it... and the best news for Rodgers owners may be the fact that SF keeps winning. Home field competition keeps Aaron in as well.
What is your thought on keeping a 2 QB's in a 1 QB league, after bye weeks?
You need to keep a backup to protect against injury and Week 16/17 sits.
Bailey or Hanson ROS?
It's the kicker. Toss a coin.
any stats on the percentage of staters that sit in week 16 or 17? is it really that big a risk?
I don't have those numbers, but I think it's pretty clear that if the seed is wrapped up, the studs play at most a single series.
Vernon Davis or Heath Miller for the rest of the year? Who you got?
I'd go with Miller. Pittsburgh is using him nicely.
Steve Smith or Vincent Jackson ROS?
Smith for me.
Will Andre Johnson be a difference maker come fantasy playoff time?
Can I rely on Tate as a weekly flex play? The texans seem to be running over everyone.
Certainly looks as though he'll get 10 touches or so each week. Don't expect him to get 5.0 YPC every week, but I'd take that workload.
Deion Branch or David Nelson ROS?
Nelson would be my pick.
Chris Ivory's value going forward?
Not much once Ingram comes back, I'd wager.
Better chance of staying healthy, Beanie Wells or Darren McFadden?
I'd say Beanie, but neither is the paragon of durability.
Holmes or Sidney Rice ROS?
Benson for Hillis?
That's the whistle! I can be found on Twitter for those I did not get to... thanks to all for the questions. Please do check out my book: http://www.amazon.com/How-Fantasy-Sports-Explains-World/dp/161608295X and as always, until the next time, GOOD LUCK and may the odds be EVER in your favor.
