Ohm
  (3:00 PM)

Hey guys, what's up?

Vinnie (Columbus, OH)

Ohm's Law!!! The Prince has ascended to the throne. I believe he has inherited the title of "toast" previuosly held by Elvis Patterson. I know he was hurt and had practically no chance to work with the coaches in preseason but he looks completely lost out there. What is the deal with Reese's latest 1st rounder? Thanks.

Ohm
  (3:02 PM)

Wud up V. I've been trying to tell you guys this all year long but no one listens to me. I preached patience with Prince, that he was going to have a rough time because he has had no rookie camp, no mini-camp, no training camp, he had to still learn the playbook, had to learn the game and then on top of all that, come back from a broken foot. But everybody kept asking me, is Prince going to start? This is why I was asking you guys to be patient with him. He was put in a tough situation. He has shown flashes of his talent but got to be patient.

AA (Atown)

Please tell Antrell Rolle to talk less and tackle more. He stunk last week and is still talking trash. There's a difference between confident and stupid. Also, tell Osi that if he was "playing for his teammates this year" then I'm thinking none of them should expect a Christams card or a formal goodbye after the season!

Ohm
  (3:05 PM)

AA, I think Antrel speaks from the heart and he was frustrated after the game and spoke his mind. I find what he says refreshing because I do believe some of the things he says sometimes have insight into the locker room. If he is saying guys need to practice even if they have minor injuries, you have to wonder how many others in the locker room feel the same way. I don't mind him talking at all. You rather have the same old bland quotes, we just were out-executed and we got to correct what we did wrong and we'll watch film, blah, blah, blah? As for Osi, if he has a legitimate bad ankle sprain, then you can't criticize him. Hard to know what kind of pain certain guys are feeling. And besides, if he comes back, that means JPP may have to come off bench.

Phil (NJ)

NotoriousOhm, I really don't know what to expect from this giants team, and I'm really tired of them. what's wrong with this team for christ sakes?? do their play have anything to do with desire, motivation, commitment, determination, etc?? im running out of words..do they trust coughlin? i'm sooo fed up. what can you tell me that could/should make me feel better aside of we can still make the playoffs? thanks bigohm..you're the best at what you do!!

Ohm
  (3:06 PM)

Wud up Phil. I don't know what I can say to make you feel better dude. I do think they will play better this Saturday than they did against Washington. I can't guarantee a win or that they will make the playoffs. But I do think they are capable of putting together another two-game stretch like they did against GB and Dallas. And if they do that, they will give themselves a chance to win out.

Chris (Chicago)

What will be the biggest key for the Giants to get a victory over the Jets and keep their season alive?

Ohm
  (3:07 PM)

Play with the same attitude they had against NE, GB and Dallas... limit the turnovers, give Eli some help, and understand that there is little room for error meaning they can't have turnovers and dumb penalties. Also, get pressure on Sanchez.

Frankie Delgado (Long Island )

Ohm! Last week was a Huge Letdown, plain and simple. Think we can pick these two games up and take the East? I can't call it! But I can't give up on my boys yet! Get it done Blue!

Ohm
  (3:08 PM)

Hey Frankie... as I said earlier, I think they can put together another two-game stretch like they had against GB and Dallas. And trust me, you will take that over last Sunday. But it's inside those guys, in their heads. Also, the defensive side has to clean things up. Too many breakdowns back there. Perhaps Fewell does have to simplify.

andiamo (ny)

with Ballard most likely out this weekend, Pascoe dealing with a Rib Injury, and Beckum being....well, Travis Beckum. Do you think Gilbride goes to 4 WRs sets more? Personally I don't think he will b/c Gilbride is about as bright as a dim bulb, but I think he should. Thoughts?

Ohm
  (3:09 PM)

Hey Andi... I guess they got to hope Pascoe and Beckum play through the pain. Perhaps Hynoski does more catching out of backfield as well. Too bad, this is the week they need a TE vs the Jets, who struggle to cover TEs. Could he go 4-wide? Yes. I can see that.

Ohm
  (3:11 PM)

One second guys... have to answer an important email. Sorry... be right back.

Mike (Long Island)

What do you think the Giants coaching staff's job security is? Are they safe with a playoff birth, or is it a time for change regardless?

Ohm
  (3:12 PM)

I think if they find a way into the playoffs, yes, I can see them definitely coming back.

Andrew (Ann Arbor)

Ohm, it's been too long what's up buddy? I can't stand the Giants anymore so I'm making the easy transition into Big Ten Basketball. You think Ohio State still has what it takes to win the Big Ten despite a banged up Sullinger?

Ohm
  (3:13 PM)

Hey Andrew. Wow, sick of the G-Men eh? LOL. Yes, OSU is the cream of the Big Ten. If Sullinger stays healthy, they should be Final 4 bound. Love what I see out of Indiana too.

Shaun (Erie)

What up Ohm? Chance that the Giants/Cowboy game is flexed to a primetime game given the division is still up for grabs?

Ohm
  (3:14 PM)

I know as much as you do my man. I guess it's a prime candidate if the NFC East is on the line. I haven't even looked at other matchups that weekend. Been too concerned with the Giants.

David (Houston)

Ohm, after both the Giants and Jets laid an egg on SUnday, who has the upper hand on Christmas eve?

Ohm
  (3:16 PM)

I don't think there is an upper-hand really. I think both teams come in exactly the same no matter what the records are. If anything, for some reason, I think the Giants are reinvigorated by the fact that they get to play the Jets, and even though it is in their home, they are the road team and they like things like that. They sometimes respond to when their backs are against the wall. IT doesn't get much worse than this as far as backs against the wall. I think they will respond. Don't know if that is good enough to win. I still think the Jets are better than people give them credit for.

Darren (Great Neck)

Waddup Ohm.... What are the chances that Jake Ballard plays this week? How bad is his injury? And do you think the Giants wil resign Mario Manningham thos offseason, along with Terrel Thomas?

Ohm
  (3:17 PM)

Darren, it doesn't sound good for Ballard. PCL knee injury. We'll see later in the week but Coughlin said he will miss time. I'd say he's not going to play this week. As for Mario and TT, I think the Giants will try to re-sign both within reason.

Dutch (Harlem)

Ohm whats good! What positions do you expect to be upgraded in the offseason?

Ohm
  (3:18 PM)

Dutch, I love ya man but I usually like to wait until the offseason to talk about these things. I would say secondary, offensive line off the top of my head. You would normally say linebacker but I think they like their linebackers a lot and if there isn't a stud linebacker where they draft, then I can see them going with best player available.

Michael (Virginia)

Hey Ohm,Do you see the Giants winning the division? And if so, how far do you think they can go?

Ohm
  (3:19 PM)

Michael, I have no idea when it comes to this team. I think it's definitely possible they can win out. But it is going to be very very hard. But they have it in them to do it. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they played really well on Saturday.

Dan (NY)

What are the Giants gonna do about a TE this saturday?!

Ohm
  (3:19 PM)

Don't know yet. Got to see if Pascoe and Beckum can practice.

Fanfave (NYC)

I om ok with Antrel Talking but i'm not ok with his coverage. Why can't these guys cover. I don't get it. Also, why are we not blitzing every down at this point. what do we have to lose. we can't cover anyone if the QB has more than 2 sec to throw!

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

I think they are too concerned with giving up the big play. Also, who are you going to blitz? You can't corner blitz with Ross because they don't have enough corners to cover as is. And when they blitz Jacquian or Kiwanuka from linebacker or Grant from safety, it's not hitting home. They are not able to generate enough pressure and on third and longs, they are hoping that with more men back there in coverage and rushing just four, that one of their defensive ends will get to the QB but it hasn't been happening. I also never thought the Giants had lockdown corners to begin with anyways.

josh (Syracuse,NY)

JJJJJJJ EEEEE TTTTTT SSSSSSSS JETS JETS JETS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

Hello Jets fan!

Alex (Anaheim)

Who will play better head-to-head, Eli Manning or Mark Sanchez?

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

My money would be on Eli.

Ken (Brooklyn, NY)

I broke my panic button. This Giants team is unpredictable. They com0pete against teams that they have no chance against and lost to teams that they should kill. Will Bear Pascoe start as TE? Or will the Giants use a 4 WR scheme?

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

They are unpredictable yet predictable at the same time. You can't tell me that after all these years of following the Giants that you were absolutely blindsided by this team coming out flat and uninspired during a 1 pm game against an unsexy opponent. You have seen a handful of these every season. Remember Jacksonville last year? How about Seattle earlier this year or even the Redskins season opener. It happens quite often. That is why I wrote about that last Friday about how they said there was no way it would happen.

Bill (Long Beach)

Ohm, how are u? I belive the Giants win in a walk this weak and by the time the game's over, the Jets 3rd string QB will behind center.

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

Bill my man, you are an optimist. I think the Giants can definitely win the game. Win in a walk? When was the last time the Giants did that this season?

ASN (NY)

Fewell needs to simplify. Gilbride needs to be more creative. Problems solved.

Ohm
  (3:24 PM)

I don't know if that solves the problem ASN but it might help. But as much as you guys torch Gilbride, he has had a hand in Eli's terrific season and the development of Cruz and Ballard. So you can't blame him for everything and give him no credit as well.

Andy (Reston, VA)

NOTORIOUS! Ohm, doesnt change anything, but would this season (at least defensively) have been any different if Goff or Thomas were healthy? In other words, are they talented enough to contend for the title? Seems like they need some parts.

Ohm
  (3:26 PM)

Andy, yes, I think it would have made a difference. Would it have made them title contenders? I wouldn't go that far. But I think the defense plays much better with one or both on the field. Communication would have been better. Ross would not have been second CB. He would have been third CB. Prince would not have had to play so much. Goff would make sure communication flowed better as well. More bodies and more talent.

Jeremy (Rockland)

Hey OHM, tell Antrel Rolle that he's making 3x's as many headlines as tackles this year, and that maybe he should cool it and just play up to his overpriced contract. Thanks!

Ohm
  (3:27 PM)

I love Trel so I am not going to tell him that. LOL.

Christian (New Jersey)

Hey Ohm!Just a general question, but how did you get to be where you are now from a journalism stand point? Did you have any connections previously from ESPN?

Ohm
  (3:28 PM)

Hey Christian, I knew from 11th grade that I wanted to be a sports writer and went to MSU where the J-School was ranked ninth in the country, did several sports writing internships, networked and got to know many people in the business, worked at Kansas City, Atlanta, Baltimore Akron, Dallas and then came to NY and covered the NBA for the Daily News for over a decade and then NFL before my sports editor left to go to ESPN-NY. So he brought me along with him.

Paul (NYC)

Who can we hope for to be our running backs for next year? Giants need a consistent run game to compliment Eli's spectacular play.

Ohm
  (3:29 PM)

Good question. I wonder what they will do with Brandon since he has an option for them to pay him like in March or May. That will determine what they do. They could also make some changes on offensive line as well.

jeremy (long island)

any chance of a steve spagnuolo return?

Ohm
  (3:29 PM)

Perry Fewell is still the defensive coordinator. We can discuss that if they decide to make a change.

chris (new york)

Who owns new york,...also do u think that there will be more giants or jets fans at giants stadium on christmas eve?

Ohm
  (3:30 PM)

Right now, it's equal to me because both are losing. As for who will have more fans, I am interested in seeing that. But I think there should be more Jets fans because it is a Jets home game.

David (Houston)

Ohm, with the Giants pass push fading lately, Osi out and Tuck hurt. How do they take advantage of the Jets OL, especially Hunter and his horrible play?

Ohm
  (3:31 PM)

Well I think JPP will probably go against Brick. So Tuck and then Kiwanuka and Tollefson will have to try to win their battles along the defensive line as well. Tuck is banged up but will play. Osi probably out again.

Sean (New Jersey)

What do you think the biggest factor will be when determining who will win this crucial game for both New York teams?

Ohm
  (3:32 PM)

I kind of answered this earlier but to me, team that takes care of the ball and doesn't turn it over and doesn't make the most mistakes will be in good shape. Could be a tight game.

lara (long island)

i think the giants will absolutely destroy the jets. this is a must win and i got my money on eli and coughlin rather than rex and sanchez.

Ohm
  (3:32 PM)

Lara, love the optimism. I would say Eli gives the Giants a big advantage. But the Giants defense has to give him some help.

Zack (IL)

Ohm. Rolle is horrendous in coverage, hes is always getting burned. Why is he calling dudes out?

Ohm
  (3:33 PM)

He's trying to be more of a leader and say something since not many guys say much. He is trying to spark guys, in my mind. Hey, at this point, why not try. Beats not trying at all.

Christian (New Jersey)

Which of the young talent do you think will have the most chance to succeed? Jacquain, Jones, Paysinger, Herzlich.

Ohm
  (3:34 PM)

I like all four. I think Jones will improve with more time. Jacquian has speed and athleticism. He should improve. Love what I saw from Herzlich in a short stint, great body, athleticism. And Paysinger is solid.

Dutch (Harlem)

I think the problem is the core, seems like no heart, they need a Brian Dawkins

Ohm
  (3:35 PM)

What? Antrel isn't fiery enough for you?

Dan (Orlando)

Hi Ohm, do you think there is a chance that the Giants let go of both Osi and Tuck during the offseason? They both have trouble staying healthy. It just seems like it might be time for a change.

Ohm
  (3:35 PM)

Why would they let Tuck go? If Osi goes, it is because of a contract issue. You don't let good pass rushers just go. Tuck has been hurt all season. Why would they cut Tuck?

Wendy (Erie, PA)

Hi Ohm, you are awesome! Do you think the Giants would draft a running back in the first round of the draft next year? I think they have been starving for a playmaker with speed for a while now.

Ohm
  (3:37 PM)

No Wendy, you and everybody in this chat room are awesome! I think the Giants would draft a RB in the first round if somebody really really good dropped into their laps. I agree on the playmaker/speed assessment. They need more of those anywhere they can get them for sure. I am all about adding playmakers and speed in the first and second round regardless of need.

jeff (long island)

overall better coach coughlin or rex? i gotta go with tom.

Ohm
  (3:38 PM)

Haha Jeff... you must've just talked to our editors because they want Cimini and I to debate this in a hot button issue. Hard to say Coughlin is better coach after losing five of six but he does have the ring. Rex doesn't.

Ryan (San Jose)

Hi Ohm, do you think there will be more Jets or Giants fans there at the game, or will it be about 50/50?

Ohm
  (3:38 PM)

Jets home game, I'd expect more Green and White.

Zack (IL)

As a Giants fan this is my sad prediction: They will come out inspired and win the game this week. Only to come out in the last game of the season against Dallas and lay a (Panthers at home 2009, Dallas home 2010, Eagles home playoff game 2008).

Ohm
  (3:38 PM)

Zack... would not surprise me one bit. Plus, Dallas plays well up here. Remember last year?

john(cranbury, nj) [via mobile]

Ohm, why can this team step up to the big stage every time, but play down to the supposed "lesser" opponents? Reflection of TC and maybe kevin killdrive? Or players just not focused?

Ohm
  (3:39 PM)

I would put the blame on everybody. Can't just point the finger at coaching staff. It is also up to the players to get themselves up as well.

Mark (Boston)

What do you think the key match-up is for the giants against the jets?

Ohm
  (3:40 PM)

So many. Obviously Eli vs Jets defense. Who will Revis be on and if on Nicks, then Cruz vs Kyle Wilson in slot could be huge. Ballard would have been huge in this game as well but he's likely out. I can't wait to see JPP vs Brick. And then Giants defense has to keep Santonio from burning the secondary like so many receivers have done in past weeks. And then Plax in red zone and stopping Shonn Greene and making Sanchez one-dimensional.

annoyed fan (nyc)

Why is this game at 1 PM on a Saturday? NY has one of the largest Jewish makets in the country and we won't be able to watch the game. Couldn't they have at least given this a 4PM start so we could catch the second half? They've worked around the holidays in September/October in the past.

Ohm
  (3:41 PM)

Annoyed fan, send a letter to Commissioner Goodell. It's the NFL's call my friend.

Ohm
  (3:41 PM)

Don't know what to tell ya there.

Nick (Jersey)

Hey Ohm! Follow you on twitter, and your great. Any chance we see a Justin Tuck sighting on saturday? It's been a while since he's Adone anything. And what do you think of Coughlin? Do you think the players have quit on him?

Ohm
  (3:42 PM)

Thanks Nick. I think Tuck will be fired up. I just don't know how healthy he is. As for TC, no, I do not think the players have quit on him. I still believe he has the locker room.

Shaun (Erie)

Just a venting comment! I am so sick of Antrel Rolle. Runs his mouth constantly, but never shows up on the field. So far he has been a disappointment following his huge contract. Nice tackle on 3rd and 17 Antrel! Keep your mouth shut and play

Ohm
  (3:42 PM)

I let you guys vent too!

andiamo (ny)

what are your feelings when you hear a loser like Deangelo Hall (who sucks at life mind you) say that the Redskins knew what the Giants wanted to do on Offense? How does Kevin Gilbride sleep at night when he's being out coached by Jim Haslett? And not even by a little bit! Discliamer: No I do NOT think 1 dropped TD pass is a reason to score 10 points against the deadskins.

Ohm
  (3:44 PM)

Hey now Andi! Easy on DHall. You know, I think the Redskins said that in Week 1 too or at least we noticed that Cofield knew Eli was going to throw to his right on that pick six moments before it happened because it looked like he told Kerrigan to shift over. Anyways, at this point in the season, I believe every team knows what each other is going to do. It is just a matter of stopping that play and execution. Like, I think teams know what the Saints and Packers are going to do but they can't stop them and there's too much offensive talent out on the field.

Zack (IL)

Ok some of these people are pissing me off. (get rid of tuck and bradshaw)..are you kidding me? You don't get rid of those guys...how bout a capable punt and kick returner. Our offensive skills positions should be great for a long time...lets remember all the guys that will return next year form injury (thomas, goff, etc.)

Ohm
  (3:45 PM)

Returner is definitely a position of need. But that goes back to what Wendy said... need for a speedy playmaker as well. But yeah, getting rid of Tuck... I just don't see it and I don't see why. He is allowed to play hurt isn't he?

Brian (NY)

Couldn't agree more w/ Shaun. Tell Antrel to put up, shut up, or get out of town.

ASN (NY)

Giants seem to go flat in games when there is a big drop early on, like Nicks' drop this week and Ballard's when they played Phily a couple of weeks ago. How does one drop so early in the game seem to make them give up all intensity on Offense?

Ohm
  (3:46 PM)

I don't know if they give up... but you are right, the drops do have an effect it seems. The one by Hakeem was big. But then again, on the flip side ASN, Mario dropped a TD in Dallas and Eli kept going. So it doesn't apply all the time.

Vinnie (Columbus, OH)

Ohm's Law! I've seen enough of Danny Ware. The last straw was when he simply stared at OJ Atogwe on the ground after Atogwe's INT rather than touching him down. I've said it before but I need to say it again, I needs me some DaRell Scott. I know he may not be ready for a big role but any chance he gets Ware's touches in the last 2 games? Thanks.

Ohm
  (3:47 PM)

Vinnie.. again, I think you hit it on the nail. Don't know how ready Scott is for that kind of role, knowing all the defensive reads and what not. And that INT, it was a spur of the moment thing, I can't blame Ware for that one. Atogwe made a great play.

nnamdi (new jersey)

its funny how the jets are saying they own new york but really whenever i go out or in nyc i always see MUCH more blue than green and i feel the giants are better. Whats ur take because it seems that both teams fans believe that their colors shine brighter but this town only has room for 1 team. is it the team with 6 championships or the team with 1?

Ohm
  (3:49 PM)

I mean, overall, if you are asking who has more fans in this area... I would say the Giants, they have the longer tradition and more titles. But Jets fans are passionate and bring it as well and the Jets have been the better team the past couple of seasons. I love the fact that this game means so much for both teams. Should be so much fun.

joe (long island)

is there any possible explanation for the giants 2 half record to be so much worse every year?

Ohm
  (3:49 PM)

Joe, we've all tried to figure it out as well. This year, though, the schedule plays a huge factor, even if they did lose to the Redskins last week.

Ohm
  (3:49 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for the questions. Got to get writing. Appreciate it and Happy Holidays everyone!
