  (3:03 PM)

Hello and welcome everyone to what will be my last fantasy chat of the season. I'll try to get to as many of your lineup questions as possible - and general NFL is ok as well.Hope you're all playing for your Lombardis this week.Let's get started...

Jon (Des Moines)

Hello again, Melissa! Luckily I've made it to the finals and am wondering if you like Tebow over Tony Romo this week. ESPN is projecting Tebow with 3 TD and Romo with 2, so it's pretty close! This is a 2 QB keeper league, and I can't see myself benching Aaron Rodgers. Any TD worth six points. Thanks a lot!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:05 PM)

Hi Jon,Gotta love those tricky projections. Not to go anti-company but I would start Romo over Tebow. Tebow traveling to Buffalo is slightly concerning. I love Romo at home and hard to bench a guy with 7 touchdowns the last two games. Also like him since your TDS are 6 points. Would consider Tebow if passing TDs were 4

Hank (Hendersonville, NC)

Merry Christmas, Melissa! In flex spot, who would you start, D. Bryant or W. McGahee? Thanks for your help!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:07 PM)

Hi Hank,I'd narrowly choose Bryant. He's on a roll with the touchdowns and the Eagles secondary, while wicked at times, has allowed 25 receiving touchdowns. The Broncos backfield is also a little unclear.

Stuart (Brooklyn, NY)

Would it be wise to use Tate tonight over BJGE and Stewart? Thanks for all your help Melissa! Happy Chanukah!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:09 PM)

Hi Stuart - I'd probably choose Stewart of this group. Tate's carries have gone down the past two weeks and he's battling hamstring issues. Stewart is still splitting carries and both Panthers backs should get plenty of work against the Bucs terrible front seven.

Bharath (NJ)

Have a dilemma because of injuries and when peoples games are. In ppr league I have Shonne Greene, Felix Jones, and Kevin Smith. Afraid to go with both jones and smith in case one sits out. Which two would you go with?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:12 PM)

Hi Bharath,I'd start Greene over Jones because of the injury concerns. While not a PPR darling Greene has been running well and getting targets in the red zone. Smith is at least practicing this week and is a smart start in the PPR format. Good luck!

Tom (Big Easy)

Did you see that funny Tebow snl skit over the weekend?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:12 PM)

Why, of course. Absolutely loved it. Don't understand the naysayers.

Neal(slc) [via mobile]

Hey MJ, my team let me down last week. Now I'm playing for 3rd place $. Who sits out of Deangelo, Khalil Bell, Shonn Greene, and Kevin Smith. Thanks for all the help this year and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:14 PM)

Hi Neal - I'm sorry and doubly sorry if I contributed. I'd definitely sit Bell of this group. Last week's lead back role was kind of a surprise but no guarantees moving forward. Barber could easily get bulk of carries. not excited about anyone in the Josh McCown led offense. I really like your other three options.

Dan (Boston)

Who should I start at flex on championship weekend. I have the 49ers deffense and Greenbay. My options are Marshawn Lynch against my own deff. Nate Washington v. Jac, or Jabar Gaffney v. Min. ?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:16 PM)

HI Dan,I like Gaffney out of your crew. He is Grossman's go-to-guy now and has done well last two weeks. Obviously great matchup vs.Vikings.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:18 PM)

A Part 2 to Dans question and for any other Marshawn Lynch owners out there....I do not recommend starting Lynch. It's really one of the toughest lineup conundrums of the week with how well he's been playing but it's impossible to recommend anyone facing a team that hasn't allowed a rushing touchdown or any running back garnering more than 75 yards on the ground.

Perry (Baltimore)

Hi Melissa! Need help in a PPR League, need 2 RB's, 1 TE, and 1 Flex out of: Helu, K.Smith, K.Bell, Turner, Starks; Hernandez, Celek; DeSean Jax and Doug Baldwin... Thanks for great advice all year!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:20 PM)

Hi Perry,For TE, love Hernandez this week. Obviously Brady loves the TE and both NE TEs had great games vs. Miami Week 1, 2 RBs: I like Helu and Smith. And for flex, I'd go with DJax. Good luck!

Len [via mobile]

Third place questions??? Boooooooo

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:21 PM)

Hey now...

Jennifer (Dana Point, CA)

Week 16 which 3 RB's would you start: C. Johnson TEN, R. Mathews SD, W. Mcgahee DEN, A. Bradshaw NY, and D. Williams CAR.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:22 PM)

Hi Jennifer,I really like Johnson, Mathews and Williams of your crew. I predict great things for the Panthers RBs this week.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:24 PM)

Random question...how many of you own Chris Johnson and are in your finals? I consider him perhaps the biggest disappointment of the season yet I'm hearing so many SB-bound teams that own him.

Neal(slc) [via mobile]

MJ, you had no contribution to me going down last week. I'll let Harvin and Tony G., take the credit for that. Hope your back chatting next season. Thanks again.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:24 PM)

Ha - ok. Very sad about Tony G., who was such a model of consistency.

Len [via mobile]

Need your help one more time you got me here. And your smokin hot. Pick 2: Sproles, Blount, Spiller, and Helu. 2 WR and flex are Calvin, Wallace and VJax.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:26 PM)

Nice buttering up! Would continue to ride the hot play of Sproles. Also like Helu. Not sure if you're asking me about WR part, but I'm a little down on Wallace as he's turned into WR2 behind Brown and may have Batch throwing to him.

Jake (Miami)

Hey Melissa tough one for yea. I have Cinn's D but thinking on starting Wash or even picking up Den for thier upside am i getting to cute here?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:29 PM)

That is a tough one. Cincy is solid but the Cards offense is definitely interesting. Love Denver in theory (what on Earth happened to Fitz?) but worry about them on the road. I actually would narrowly opt for Washington against the turnover loving Vikes.

Mark (San Jose)

Hi Melissa. One team and one week left of fantasy football. If Batch starts for the Steelers, would you keep M. Wallace in your lineup or bring in Burleson or S. Moss? Thank you for all your advice this year and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:31 PM)

Hi Mark,I would sit Wallace. Even with Big ben in there he hasn't neared a 100-yard effort since Week 7. I'd opt for Moss solely because of the tremendous matchup. Good luck!

J.B. (PA)

Another question for the ESPN FFL Chat ROY: Better to roll with Demaryius Thomas or Santonio Holmes this week? One gets targets and the other scores TDs. Thanks!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:33 PM)

Why thank you, J.B. I'd roll with Thomas. Even though I keep cautioning against the road game the Bills secondary is so weak. See Holmes getting much better coverage.

Mike Ho (Hong Kong)

Hi Melissa, hope you are having a happy holiday season! Could you pick one in a PPR league from Tebow and Romo and Hakeem Nicks and Santana Moss (scared of Revis island).

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:36 PM)

Hi Mike Ho!I like Romo. Not only is there more emphasis on the passing game, there may be every moreso with Felix Jones on the mend. I still like Hicks this week. Clearly the Revis factor is a challenge but Manning throws as clean a middle to deep ball as anyone.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:36 PM)

BTW, I know some of you will think that's an absurd statement but it's true!

lemay (chicago)

i know all are down on Lynch this weekend, but can I really start Ryan Grant or Khalil Bell instead?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:42 PM)

Sorry a little technical glitch there. (aka bad wireless signal).I'd start Grant coming off his huge game last week. Bears are obviously tough opponent but w'll see if they have much to play for come Christmas night.

Jake (Miami)

Got another tuff one for yea in standard scoring who should i start at the flex R. Helu, F. Gore, S.Moss or A. Brown?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:44 PM)

That is tough, Jake. I'd probably start Moss out of that crew, again because of matchup. Gore would be my second choice although the Hawks run defense can be tough and Gore only averaged 2.7 yards per carry their first go0around.

J.B. (PA)

I'm going to head on out of the chat. Got some things to do. Just wanted to say thanks for a great chat season and I hope you come back for next year. Your chatters have great energy and questions. They've been a huge help. Have a super holiday season, MJ and everyone!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:45 PM)

Thanks J.B. Been great hanging with you this season.

Heat Miser (South Pole)

Title match up against my brother this week. Another snowstorm in South Town is on the line if I lose. Would you go Packer D/ST v McCown or Chiefs v Palmer and his beat up WR corps? Thank you.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:47 PM)

Haha at name and ramifications of loss. I LOVE Packers vs. McCown. No Forte. No decent receivers. INo offensive saviors for the Bears. Palmer at least has a ground game - and the ability to throw an accurate pass.

John (Los Angeles)

Of the CJ owners who are in their Finals, how many traded pennies-on-the-dollar mid-season to get CJ from his frustrated early-season owners?

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:49 PM)

That is a great question. I have this theory that ownerscwho could n't trade him would have been better off simply dumping him. Because if he was in your lineup, you felt compelled to play him and thus got 0-3 points a lot.

Neal(slc) [via mobile]

Hey Len some of us do still play for the bronze and our questions matter as well. Thanks.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:49 PM)

this is true.

Igor (NYC)

Hi Melissa, thanks for your advise over last couple of weeks. I am in the finals and can't decide who to start this week. PPR league pick 2 rb rb/wr 2 wr from the following: Jones Drew, Sproles, Steven Jackson, Welker, A.J. Green, Harvin, Demariys Thomas (den), A. Brown, Torry Smith. Which def SEA or DEN? I am considering benching Harvin for D. Thomas (den), but can't pull the trigger. Thanks for your help.

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:52 PM)

Hi Igor,Wow, quite the conundrum here. 2 RBs: MJD, Sproles. 2 WR: Welker/Green Why not make Harvin your WR/RB? Maybe switch him out with Brown on off chance Roethlisberger plays.

Dan (LA)

Hey MJ, I've been persona non grata, but managed to limp into the championship despite a 6-7 record. In PPR need two out of Gore, Reggie Bush, Khalil Bell and Kevin Smith. Leaning Bush/Bell because of Gore's unstudliness these last few weeks. Help!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:54 PM)

Hi Dan,100% agree with Bush. No question. Gore scares me as well. But I'd go Smith over Bell. Smith has been practicing in full and looks healthy (well, as healthy as Smith can be). There's no guarantee Bell gets the same bulk of carries this week. There is this guy sill there named Barber.Good luck!

Melissa Jacobs
  (3:57 PM)
