Hey guys, what's going on!

Bryan (Manhattan)

Can you discuss the refs and the blown calls? Without the blown fumble and the phantom roughing the passer, we are looking at a 37-6 game. Did you see something we didn't on those calls? They looked blatant to me.

Ohm
  (3:04 PM)

Well, I thought, like I am sure you guys did, that the Jennings play should have been a fumble. And the Osi hit, well, I thought that should have been let go. But look, this is my philosophy when it comes to refs, it is a very hard job and they aren't going to get every single call right. I know it may feel like the Giants have gotten the wrong end on several calls this season like Jake Ballard's potential touchdown against Green Bay. All you can hope for is that the game is not decided by a call. In this case on Sunday, it wasn't so be happy that the Giants are moving on. Can't do anything about it anymore anyways right?

Nico (Newark, NJ)

I'm sick and tired of hearing that Aaron Rodgers was rusty that the lay off hurt them all of the other excuses if it wasn't for the refs we would of beat them 37-6. Rust my a$$ after beating the Saints 42-35 in week one Aaron Rodgers said in the post game press conference that they scored 42pts with no off season imagine how much we would of scored if there wasn't a lock out, so I highly doubt that not playing for three weeks hurt him take the lost like a man. LET"S GO GIANTS!!!!!

Ohm
  (3:06 PM)

Nico, I'm not going to take anything away from the Giants defensive effort. Secondary played its best game of the season. Antrel was terrific. Webster was great. The safeties hit harder than they have all season. Boley was a monster. But, Rodgers missed a couple of wide open receivers he usually doesn't miss. And their receivers dropped six balls. I will say this: I think it's a combination of Giants playing very well, Rodgers maybe a little rusty, Giants had the momentum and Packers experienced a tragedy during the week leading up that all played a part.

Adam (NY)

Hey what do you think the 49ers weakness is in the secondary?

Ohm
  (3:08 PM)

The Niners defense is physical and fast. Their linebackers are crazy quick. But I do think the Giants can throw on the Niners. They did it last time and came within a Mario Manningham dropped touchdown of sending it to overtime. Manning has to be smart, not be confused by the Niners defense and make good throws. The Giants receivers can get open against any defense and make plays for the most part.

Shon (Brooklyn, NY)

What's the deal with Kiwanuka? It seemed like he wasnt on the field as much. Is he hurt?

Ohm
  (3:09 PM)

I don't think he's hurt. I think that was how the game plan played out for the Giants. They used Chase Blackburn and Michael Boley a lot on potential running downs and brought in Kiwanuka in on pass-rushing downs. I think because the Packers don't run as much, they seemed to go in this direction. But I am a proponent of having Kiwanuka out there more than not, especially to rush the passer. But the Giants wanted to get pressure with their front four more and be able to cover with as many bodies as possible.

Jack (Virginia)

Ohm the bottom line is last time these two teams met...Niners did nothing until Boley went out of that game with the hamstring injury, that was the game in a nutshell.

Ohm
  (3:11 PM)

Jack, they scored two touchdowns in 61 seconds in the 4th in situations where I believe if Boley was there, at least one of them doesn't happen. Vernon gets left wide open on a mix up across the middle and runs in for a touchdown and then they run in another TD right through the left side of the line almost untouched.

Dom (Rochester )

Ohm my man do you like Rolle at slot corner or his regular ball hawking safety?

Ohm
  (3:12 PM)

Dom, you know what? Preferably, I'd like Rolle to roam around and do many different positions to confuse an offense. But the situation dictates him at the slot when an offense has 3 or more WRs. And he has gotten better each week. Rolle was terrific on Sunday. And has been really good pretty much since the Jets game. But I do believe he is a playmaker when put in position that is more comfortable in such as staying back or blitzing.

Jett (Brooklyn, NY)

How will the Giants approach Alex Smith throwing the ball this time? He got us pretty good last time.

Ohm
  (3:13 PM)

Jett, Smith did open that game on fire. But I think this secondary is better than it was back then. The Giants communicate better now, more sound defensively, no mix-ups and breakdowns. They were focused on stopping Frank Gore and Gore got hurt in that game. Have a feeling the game plan will be to focus on Gore first, passing second.

Mark (Buffalo, NY)

How do u think your alma mater will do against that other Michigan team?

Ohm
  (3:14 PM)

Marky... I'm AMPED. I was just texting with Steve Smith about it. Michigan basketball is much improved. MSU played well until NW smoked the Spartans with the Princeton backdoor cuts. But really hoping for a Michigan State win. That would make me a very happy man this week.

Paul Crewe (Mean Machine)

Any word on which ex-Giants will be on the sidelines in SF?

Ohm
  (3:15 PM)

PC, no word yet. Be nice to see some of the old Giants there.

Brad (Manhattan)

Do you think New England is peaking to a greater extent than the Giants right now? If you are Tom Coughlin, are you more scared of the Patriots than you were for the Packers?

Ohm
  (3:16 PM)

I think NE is playing great. But if I am Tom Coughlin, I have confidence that Eli can move the ball on that defense and that the Giants defense is playing better than it did back when the Giants beat New England in New England. The Giants are healthier than they were in that game as well. I believe, if I remember correctly, Hakeem Nicks missed that game.

IM (Long Island)

Justin Smith has had a monster year for the Niners. How does the offensive line deal with him?

Ohm
  (3:17 PM)

IM, good question. The Giants had extra attention on Clay Matthews at times last week. They might do the same with Smith. But Niners defense is stacked. Going to be an interesting matchup on the offensive line. Perhaps they keep Hynoski or Bear Pascoe back to help blocking. Bradshaw is a terrific blocker as well.

PF (NY)

Where'd all the music go?

Ohm
  (3:18 PM)

You mean "My Fantasy"? It only goes during the fantasy season. But man, I was thinking, if I did a fantasy column this week, it be pure East Coast vs West Coast rap edition. I may have to slip that in the blog this week anyways!

Newt (Lake Mary, FL)

Man, they have to lock up Osi after the season. The guy's still a monster ...

Ohm
  (3:19 PM)

You know Newt, he is but it is funny, fans were like, keep Osi, pay Osi after the first few games he came back. Then when he got hurt and didn't come back for four games, fans were like, get rid of him. Now, it's pay Osi. LOL!

John Clayton (ESPN)

I got my Rakim mixtape playing now. You?

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just busted out laughing. I was listening to Biggie earlier. Right now, 80's channel playing.

Joe (Lakewood, nj)

Do you think the 49ers secondary will slow down the Giants passing attack? If so can the Giants with their running game?

Ohm
  (3:22 PM)

It can. But if there is a healthy trio of Nicks, Cruz and Manningham and if Ballard is healthy, Eli will find a way to complete passes. The Giants running game might not have much room to run in this game. But they still got to stick with it seeing how the O-line gets better as the game progresses.

Graig (New York, New York)

It would be great to see Giants Pats again, but lets be realistic, the Giants match up better against the Ravens. Thoughts?

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

Graig, I rather not get too far ahead of the NFC Championship game. But since you asked... LOL. I see what you are saying, Ravens offensively not as good as Pats. But personally, I rather see NE because I like the matchup and I think the Giants can beat the Pats again. NE defense still has to show me it can stop Eli and the receivers.

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

Brady is playing better than he did when the Giants saw him last too. But so is the Giants defense.

Grandmaster Flash (In Da House)

Tupac or Biggie?

Ohm
  (3:24 PM)

Love Pac but I'm a Biggie guy as evidenced by my Twitter handle.

Backspac (NJ)

Do you think Eli is elite? If not what do you think he has to do in order to be in that class?

Ohm
  (3:25 PM)

I think Eli is elite. To be honest with you, I probably had him ranked fourth this season behind Rodgers, Brees and Brady. But he was right behind them, a slight notch below. But he's proving it even more to me that he deserves to be in that elite three group because he has taken this team to the NFC Championship. He makes the Super Bowl, win or lose, you have to talk about him in the same breath as Rodgers, Brees and Brady, in my mind.

Joe (Lakewood, nj)

can the giants win if sf shuts down the passing attack?

Ohm
  (3:26 PM)

That will hurt a lot... but you also got to tell me what SF is doing offensively vs Giants defense as well... it could be a defensive battle on Sunday, especially if weather is bad with rain.

Darren (Great Neck)

Hey Ohm, how you doing? Do you think the Giants are confident about this weekend, or do you think after what happened last week they have become over-confident and are over looking the Niners. In addition, what do you think will happen with Mario Manningham this offseason? And when do you think a contact extension will come for Victor Cruz?

Ohm
  (3:27 PM)

Giants could be a tad overconfident after beating Pack but since this is on the road against a team that they lost to earlier, I think they will be fine. I'd be more worried, if I were a Giants fan, if this game was at home in a weird way when it comes to overlooking an opponent. As for the future, I think they want Mario back but at the right price. And as for Cruz, I'm sure they'll try to sign an extension. Depends on if Victor likes it or not. But that is down the road.

PF (NY)

SF lined Vernon as a slot/wide out. If Roddy White and Jordy Nelson were considered the biggest threats to warrant Webster's services, can we expect CW to split some coverage with Jacquian and Boley on Vernon?

Ohm
  (3:28 PM)

Nah, don't see that happening. I mean, I guess Perry could come up with a surprise. But I think he sticks on WRs.

Mark (Buffalo, NY)

Is it time to make your Super Bowl picks or do you believe it's wide open?

Ohm
  (3:29 PM)

I make my picks week by week on Fridays. But I said this on the radio last week. I felt if SF beat NO, the Giants were going to go to the Super Bowl if they got by GB.

Newt (Lake Mary, FL)

How did Prince look from high above in his limited action?

Ohm
  (3:30 PM)

Looked good. And this is how the Giants needed to play him, in spot situations, bring him along slowly after no camp and no rookie camp and a broken foot.

IM (Long Island)

Why has Barden been a healthy scratch? Surely his size could be useful at some point in the game.

Ohm
  (3:30 PM)

Numbers game... Jernigan is used on special teams and so is Devin Thomas. They have Ballard for size inside and need Cruz, Manningham and Nicks so who would you take out?

Mark (Buffalo, NY)

Everyone seems to be praising Jim H., but can we please please praise Tom Coughlin and his game plan the last few weeks?! His team was the first to beat a 15-1 team in the 2nd round of the playoffs and he's just as big a reason for that as the players on the field.

Ohm
  (3:31 PM)

I'm like Antrel Rolle... I don't doubt Tommy C.

Ben (NJ)

Keeping in mind what the Jets have already done, what do you think should be their top priority and why? Also, do you think Eli is elite? If not why and what has to happen for him to be considered elite?

Ohm
  (3:32 PM)

The Jets need to get better receivers, improve chemistry big time, improve offensive line, find a pass rusher and perhaps improve linebackers and safety help. Also, may have to find another second RB.

Ohm
  (3:32 PM)

Chemistry is the biggest issue in my mind over there. But Rich Cimini is the expert, he will tell you the Jets stuff on Friday during his chat.

Jeff (Ct)

It seems if you are going to knock off a team with a Super Bowl winning QB it happens in their 1st playoff game or else they wind up back at the big dance. I just can't see the Pats or Giants losong.

Ohm
  (3:33 PM)

There's truth there Jeffy but also, not many saw the Packers and Saints losing this weekend either.

Alex (Long Island)

Are there any significant Giants injuries after last week? One media report I heard this morning was that Canty was hurt. Is this true?

Ohm
  (3:34 PM)

Canty hurt his left knee late in the game on Sunday but says he is fine and ready to go. It appears the Giants are healthy, a bit nicked up. Chase Blackburn suffered a stinger according to Coughlin but returned and played. Cruz took a helmet to the thigh but came back as well.

Ohm
  (3:34 PM)

Tuck is always banged up as well but is expected to play.

Brian (NY)

What's your take on the SF o-line? Will the Giants d-line have a tougher time against them than against the Pack?

Ohm
  (3:35 PM)

I think so. The Niners are physical and can run the ball. Pack not so good at running although they did rack up the yards against the Giants, who had to guard against the pass more.

John Clayton (ESPN)

Can you trade places with Skip Bayless? We're practicing for a dance off with Kid'N Play and all he does he bow down on one knee with his hand on his head. What gives?!

Ohm
  (3:35 PM)

LOL. I practice my Kid 'N Play kick step every now and then. Needs more work before I ever get to that point.

Dan (Paramus, NJ)

As of now the weather is looking like some rain in San Fran, how do you think that will change the game and who would be more of a focus if it does?

Ohm
  (3:36 PM)

I think it hurts the Giants more than the Niners because Giants have to pass to move the ball.

Primo (New York, NY)

I've seen players who were hurt during Week 10, who are healthier now. Bradshaw didn't play against the Niners, but is running much better after dealing with that broken bone in his foot. Do you think he will be the difference maker in this match?

Ohm
  (3:37 PM)

I don't think he will be the "difference maker" but he does add a lot when he is able to run. He did a great job last Sunday, setting up that Hail Mary, and protecting in pass protection. He is a key for sure.

Ohm
  (3:37 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for the questions this week! Good luck on Sunday!
