Chat with Dan Graziano

Dan Graziano
  (12:00 PM)

Hi. Anybody got any questions?

Zach (Orlando, Fl.)

Dan, do you foresee the Eagles O-line being worse, the same, or better than last year? Losing Jason Peters is a devastating blow, but you have to consider the fact that both Jason Kelce and Danny Watkins were rookies with no offseason. Even though Bell cannot replace Peters, I can see them at least being just as good if not better with more chemistry and the development of those two rookies up front. What do you think?

Dan Graziano
  (12:01 PM)

I agree that Peters is going to be impossible to replace. I think that changes this from a potentially elite line to a probably-pretty-good one. We need to see Bell play before we know what the downgrade means in terms of pass protection, but there's no way he's going to be able to do what Jason Peters did as a second-level blocker last year.

ryan (michigan)

The Giants acquired Jacquian Williams via 2011 draft and to me he showed great promise at outside linebacker. So my Question is do you think that he will be starting for the Giants this year at some point with there crowed lb corps?

Dan Graziano
  (12:02 PM)

I know the Giants liked Williams last year as a coverage linebacker, and will deploy him against tough tight ends, etc. I do know know if he has yet shown or will show enough improvement in other areas to warrant more playing time. He was a valuable guy, though, in coverage during their playoff run.

Donte (NJ)

How did RG3 look in practice during mini camp? After listening to a couple of his interviews, it sounds like the Defense was getting the best of the offense in practice.

Dan Graziano
  (12:03 PM)

The defense definitely got the better of him during last Wednesday's practice, which was the final one. DeAngelo Hall, in particular, gave him major problems. All good, though. All part of the learning process. And a worthwhile reminder that this is a rookie with a lot still to learn.

Vonta (OKC)

Which Eli Manning shows up this year? Has he turned the corner and will consistently produce like last year or will he regress to the enigma of previous seasons?

Dan Graziano
  (12:05 PM)

I don't see what the issue is. The only out-of-place number on his stat sheet is the 25 INTs in 2010. Other than that, he's consistently improved and developed into one of the best QBs in the league. I supposed he could have another high-turnover year at any point, but it looks to me as though that was the aberration.

Colt Anderson (Novacare)

Should I be worried about the eagles signing Atogwe?

Dan Graziano
  (12:05 PM)

Uh, no. I think your spot as special teams ace is secure.

Cambro (Lebanon, PA)

With Friday's announcement that the All-22 NFL game tapes will be released to the viewing fan (with a bit of extra charge), how does this new information affect you as an NFL writer? Do you feel pressure to watch it and release more mechanical stories about football?

Dan Graziano
  (12:06 PM)

I imagine I will use it as a tool to help improve the blog, yes. Always looking for ways to do that.

Half man (on the run..)

Why is it every year the media starts to buy into the cowboys knowing they will not get it down in the end?

Dan Graziano
  (12:07 PM)

I don't know. I plan to raise that question at the next all-media convention, where we all get together and plan to all say and write the same thing about every issue all the time.

Dr. H. Doofenshmirtz (Tri-State Area)

Read your article on a Colt McCoy trade earlier, and it does make a lot of sense. Has that actually been considered by the Eagles, or are you just pointing out it would be a good idea?

Dan Graziano
  (12:07 PM)

The latter. Jeff McLane from the Inquirer tweeted earlier today that it's unlikely to happen.

Dan Graziano
  (12:07 PM)

But I stand by my belief that it would make sense.

mike (Boston)

do you think tebow should talk to the media?

Dan Graziano
  (12:08 PM)

Maybe he can speak at the next convention.

Brian (48th and Madison)

What's the news on demarco Murray's recovery

Dan Graziano
  (12:08 PM)

He says he's fine, no restrictions.

Cowboy Fan (Cowboy Land)

Dan, I've read twice that IYO the Cowboys only upgrades were to the CBs this year. Dont you think Connor & Carter upgrade the ILB position? If so/not, WHY?

Dan Graziano
  (12:09 PM)

They might, sure. But we haven't really seen Carter, right? And it's not as though they signed Brian Urlacher. Can we be sure Connor's better than what they had there last year? Connor, Pool, those moves just kind of felt like rearranging furniture, to me.

Michael (Mt. Airy, MD)

Seeing as that Landry has already missed time with the Jets due to injury, do you see it as good riddance for the Redskins?

Dan Graziano
  (12:10 PM)

I did all along, and it was. Not worth the headache.

Sandrew (Indy)

Any rumblimg from the players about union not doing something in the last CBA to try and limit Lord Rodgers power?

Dan Graziano
  (12:12 PM)

Sure. You hear people pointing that out, but here's the deal. The people I know in NFLPA leadership were telling me during those negotiations that yeah, players didn't like Goodell being judge, jury and executioner on all discipline matters. But the main priority for the players in the CBA negotiations was the alteration of work rules in the offseason. That's something that affects (and, ideally improves) the lives of every player in the union -- not just the ones who get in trouble. To me, it makes sense that that was their priority rather than a major overhaul of the discipline system.

jim (Allentown)

So was reading Fox's top ten receivers and I know you agreed with Lesean's ranking as the best RB but you dont seen Desean as the 10th best receiver in the league do you? I mean is he even the best on his team, Maclin has better numbers and fewer drops over the same period of time.

Dan Graziano
  (12:12 PM)

I'm with you there, and I think Nicks should have been on the list ahead of Jackson. I think I wrote that.

Dan Graziano
  (12:12 PM)

And I think it was a Jeff Chadiha list, not an Ashley list. Right?

jake (arkansas)

Ware, lee, Ratliff, Spencer, Carr, Claiborne, Jenkins. You cant have a superstar at every position, why don't you think the boys can have a great defense with a second year under Ryan?

Dan Graziano
  (12:13 PM)

They CAN. I'm just not sold that they will. All but two of those players were on last year's team, and the defense took December off.

WVGIANT (WV)

Maddens team ranking are BS! The Giants just won the SB and we are ranked 4th, even with the Filthy Eagles. What gives?? I could understand being ranked 2 maybe even 3 but 4th and tied with a team that didnt make the playoffs and didnt win the super bowl, thats just ridiculous. Thoughts??

Dan Graziano
  (12:14 PM)

Honest to god, who cares?

tire148 (Orlando)

Dan, just wanted to let you know, if you already have not seen it is, Drew Brees will be a Philadelphia Eagle next year, barring the Eagles don't win the Super Bowl. The campaign is called BREAGLES 2013!!, be apart of it before the bandwagon is full and before it happens. It'll make you look smarter.

Dan Graziano
  (12:14 PM)

OK, thanks.

Gravedrew (Troutland)

The new offseason rules are meant to help players stay healthy. But could the lack of contact in practice lead to poor technique and cause injuries?

Dan Graziano
  (12:15 PM)

Theoretically. But I think the players are more concerned about limiting brain damage and not needing as many post-career hip replacements.

Rah-Steam (Hackensack, N.J.)

Everyone seems so assured the Eagles D will be stronger up the middle. I'm not buying it. Ryans is slow, Cox is unproven. All 3 other teams in the division should have improved O-lines.

Dan Graziano
  (12:16 PM)

Yeah, we need to see it to believe it. But come on with Ryans. He's light years better than what they had there last year. This isn't like replacing Bradie James with Dan Connor.

Will (fort myers)

good afternoon dan, how much do you hate june, for the slow news days?

Dan Graziano
  (12:16 PM)

Much.

Mike (Liverpool, NY)

Why are my giants getting no respect what more do we have to do? Everybody picking the eagles in the NFC EAST, and talking Cowboys and RG3 in Washington. We are the defending Super Bowl Champions and have won 2 Super Bowls in the last 5 years. Dan help me feel the respect for my Giants ?

Dan Graziano
  (12:17 PM)

Again with this. WHO CARES? I mean, seriously, folks. There's one team I root for in all of sports. Georgetown Hoya basketball. If they won two national championships in five years, I wouldn't spend one millionth of one second of my life caring one teeny little bit what anyone else thought of them.

Brian (48th and Madison)

What is the reason for Jason wittens decline in targets last season and will it increase this season

Dan Graziano
  (12:18 PM)

I think it was (a) Laurent Robinson's emergence as a red-zone target and (b) the need to stay in and block more due to struggles on the O-line. (a) is obviously taken care of, and (b) remains to be seen.

Mike (VA)

Mike Woicik back with the Cowboys - he has been working the team during the offseason which is a great thing. I realize injuries happen, but can he make a big difference with the nagging ones (hamstings, quads, etc) that plagued so many guys last season?

Dan Graziano
  (12:18 PM)

That is their hope.

Angry Mike (SF, CA)

Will Dallas try to bring in someone in at safety? I know they brought in Brodney Poole, but, you know, he's Brodney Poole. This feels like a weak point for this team...again.

Dan Graziano
  (12:19 PM)

He's actually Brodney Pool, without the E, but yes, that does look like a weak spot. Again.

HurriStein (DC)

This bores me. When is RGIII going to have an ESPN chat.....

Dan Graziano
  (12:20 PM)

You're stuck with me for now.

Mikey (KY)

Dan the Man, was Victor Cruz lightning in a bottle? Is it reasonable to think he will have comparable numbers to last year?

Dan Graziano
  (12:20 PM)

I think it's reasonable to expect SOME drop-off, but the talent and the speed are real, and he's got a great QB and a great WR drawing attention away from him. I'd pick him fairly high in a fantasy draft.

Cosmo (Stamford)

The Giants are down another TE with the Pats claiming Ballard. I know we got Adrien Robinson in the 4th round but...Did you think any of the tight ends in the draft were viable, at least 1st round material? I heard this draft class was weak at TE? Coby, Orson, dwayne?

Dan Graziano
  (12:21 PM)

Ballard wasn't going to play this year anyway, so any work they would have done at TE for 2012, they did. I think they're thin there, for sure. Wild card is of course Martellus Bennett, and whether they can make him a productive pass catcher.

TimVB (Arlington)

Do the Redskins take a chance with Talib now that he has been cleared?

Dan Graziano
  (12:22 PM)

I'd be surprised.

Codeblue (Who cares?)

I see Austin and Dez both having 1K 10+ TD seasons. What do you think?

Dan Graziano
  (12:22 PM)

Can one of them also play safety?

Andrew (DC)

Dan, why aren't the Skins getting more respe....I'm kidding....Is the health of their RBs beginning to be a concern? I know it's still early and they haven't even started training camp yet but all of them have either been banged up or coming off a serious injury.

Dan Graziano
  (12:23 PM)

Yeah, the coaches were disappointed about the injuries at running back in minicamp. Hightower bears watching. They're hoping he comes all the way back, but it was an ACL, so there's no way to be sure on the timetable. They may need to add a guy yet.

Zach (Orlando, Fl.)

Dan, what is wrong with Jaiquan Jarrett? When he was drafted in the second round of last year, everyone said he can hit like Dawkins and was ferocious in the box. Coleman, a seventh round pick from 3 years ago is beating him out but is simply an "ok" safety. I know the lockout hurt his rookie year but don't you think he should have the leg up on Coleman this year? I want the Eagles to literally "crush" people this year and he would certainly help if he got his act together.

Dan Graziano
  (12:25 PM)

It's tough to evaluate safeties when no one's wearing pads or hitting anyone. Jarrett's big thing is his hard-hitting ability. No way to really see that until preseason games. He could show enough to win the job from Coleman, but to this point he has not.

Drew (New York)

Are people overlooking Domenick Hixon as a viable WR3 for the Giants? When healthy, he played very well for them since 2008.

Dan Graziano
  (12:25 PM)

I don't know about "people," but I personally think he's the favorite for the spot if he's healthy, and I have written that.

MylesC (NC)

Is your concern with the Eagles' back-up QB's the fact that they are unproven or do you not like how they fit last year's offensive scheme?

Dan Graziano
  (12:26 PM)

No, I think they all fit the scheme. My thing is, when Vick is your starter, you have to plan as though he'll miss a few games. And that's why I'd rather see a backup who you KNOW can step in and start a few. What they have is not that.

TimVB (Arlington)

Hall was getting a lot of action covering the slot at mini-camp. Who do the Skins' put opposite Wilson if not Hall?

Dan Graziano
  (12:27 PM)

Cedric Griffin or Kevin Barnes. They didn't like Barnes in the slot last year, and Hall can be a liability in coverage, so assuming Griffin can give them something, it makes some sense. And Hall seems to be taking to it.

Mike (Tucker)

I'm not so sure Colt McCoy can "step in and win a few games" like you THINK he can.

Dan Graziano
  (12:27 PM)

Well, wait now. The question is whether he's better than what they have. Certainly, he's more experienced.

HurriStein (DC)

Roger Clemens has been found not guilty. I'm going to start erasing those asterisks now...

Dan Graziano
  (12:28 PM)

You go right ahead. I and my Hall of Fame vote will proceed as planned.

Curtis Lee (VB, VA)

Regarding the Rob Jackson story in the links, is Lorenzo Alexander moving inside becuase he is better suited there, or is it that the Redskins like Jackson as the backup on the outside?

Dan Graziano
  (12:28 PM)

The latter. Jackson is speedy.

Greg (Ardmore )

so now that Atogwe is official, what do you think about the eagles safeties

Dan Graziano
  (12:29 PM)

I know they've been looking for a veteran safety, not necessarily to start but for insurance or to help teach something to the younger guys. I think Atogwe can be good for that last part. But he was banged up last year and slow when he was on the field. I wouldn't expect him to play much.

Brian (48th and Madison)

Do you think Vick needs to run in order to return to the dangerous offense they were in 2010

Dan Graziano
  (12:30 PM)

I think they need to be less scared about running him at the goal line than they were last year. I think it was obvious that they didn't want to do that, and I think they need to keep it alive as a possibility for other teams to consider.

Isaac (Hotlanta)

What would you say is more realistic for Dez Bryant this season, 12 TDs or 15 TDs?

Dan Graziano
  (12:31 PM)

That's a weird question. Obviously, the smaller number is easier to reach and thus more realistic. For anyone.

Jay (PA)

how is it possible you don't root for any other team? I couldn't do that even if I tried

Dan Graziano
  (12:32 PM)

Well, if you covered pro sports for a living for 18 years, I imagine you'd find it fairly easy.

Statguy (Florida)

Hey Dan, just wanted to point out that while 5 rushing touchdowns isn't a lot, it eases the pain to know that my QB - Romo - compiled a 105 QB rating with 18 touchdowns and ZERO interceptions in the red zone. It doesn't matter how you score when you get down close as long as you score.

Dan Graziano
  (12:32 PM)

A fair point, and completely true. But I believe they need to establish the run game as a threat when they get in close, or else they become easier to defend. No?

Pat (Maryland )

Do you think Niles Paul could replace Cooley this year? or is that too quick for him to pick up on the position?

Dan Graziano
  (12:33 PM)

I think he definitely could. Cooley needs to show them he's healthy, and probably take a pay cut. They see Paul as a legitimate option.

AJ (DC)

i think the o-line will be just fine. mudd is smart. if he needs to switch Todd Herremans and Bell he'll do that I believe

Dan Graziano
  (12:33 PM)

Another fair point. You guys are on your game today.

Johnny (Rochester)

I understand why Dallas would want McCoy as a #3 QB, but why would McCoy want to be a #3 QB after starting 13 games last year? The league is just filling to the brim so much at the backup QB spot that McCoy would basically concede that his career as a starter is over?

Dan Graziano
  (12:35 PM)

Well, first of all, it'd be a trade, so he wouldn't have any say in the matter. And second of all, no. There are guys who have been starters, been demoted and got later opportunities down the road to be starters again.

Anthony (NYC)

Is Willie Smith competing for the RT spot in DC or does Jammal Brown have it locked up if healthy?

Dan Graziano
  (12:35 PM)

Brown is the guy if healthy. If he's not, Smith is in the mix with Polumbus, James Lee and the Compton guy they drafted.

Brian (48th and Madison)

What would a horrible passing season do for Vicks future in phila

Dan Graziano
  (12:36 PM)

Believe it would eliminate it. They can get out of the contract fairly easily after this season, I believe.

Big Blue (Star that is) (Dallas)

I get it, you don't have a favorite NFCE team, but, you obviously dislike the Giants. Most people do dislike the Giants. You have much company.

Dan Graziano
  (12:36 PM)

I do not dislike the Giants.

Timmay (IL)

I keep reading Santana Moss is slimmed down and more explosive than in recent years. Is this accurate or your typical offseason hype where everyone is looking great?

Dan Graziano
  (12:37 PM)

No, Moss' weight loss is legit. He seems motivated. I think when you play WR and your team signs two WRs (and almost a third) on the first day of free agency, that's either a wake-up call or you're a lost cause.

Tucker (IN.)

Best question yet: Pick ONE player from each team in the BEAST that you keep/kept hearing good things about during mini-camps.

Dan Graziano
  (12:38 PM)

Santana Moss, Mathias Kiwanuka, Dez Bryant, Jeremy Maclin.

Curt (NJ)

So far in camp does it look like Shanny is favoring Roy Helu or Evan Royster?

Dan Graziano
  (12:38 PM)

No.

Josh (nova)

Who gets the most receptions for the Eagles this year?

Dan Graziano
  (12:38 PM)

Maclin.

Texas-T (Dallas)

The Cowboys are expecting Dez to be the no.1 receiver this year, so is it a safe idea to let him return punts again as well?

Dan Graziano
  (12:39 PM)

It's not "safe," but that doesn't mean they shouldn't do it. You only live once, and all that.

VakAttack (FL)

Dan, re: having a favorite team, even the great Al Michaels was shown in the stands after the Kings won the Cup celebrating like a regular guy. He's been covering sports even longer than you. Give in to the hate...

Dan Graziano
  (12:40 PM)

I don't know what to tell you. If the Hoyas won the title, and I were at the game, I'm sure I'd have celebrated just like Al did.

Andrew (Still outside Dan's hotel room)

Better question. Who would you keep from each team in terms of fantasy?

Dan Graziano
  (12:40 PM)

McCoy, Nicks, Murray, Moss.

RG3 (DC)

Which player around me is the most important to me having a great season?

Dan Graziano
  (12:41 PM)

Real good question. Trent Williams.

Cosmo (Stamford)

What was is your favorite Super Bowl? Mine is 42 as a NYG fan but its mainly because The Pats looked unbeatable that year and the Giants were a major underdog.

Dan Graziano
  (12:42 PM)

Yeah, I think 42 was the best one I've seen -- again, not caring who wins them. Montana's comeback against the Bengals stands out in my memory, too.

Pat (Maryland )

What tight end from the NFC East would you pick in fantasy?

Dan Graziano
  (12:42 PM)

Witten, but Fred Davis is close.

RG3 (DC)

If I could only make one phone call to another NFC East QB for advice, who should I call?

Dan Graziano
  (12:43 PM)

I'd check first to see if the division had any two-time Super Bowl MVPs, and if it did, I'd call them.

Scott (Northglenn, CO)

Which NFCE RB will have the most catches?

Dan Graziano
  (12:44 PM)

I like these questions! Ahmad Bradshaw.

BKW (Mt. Airy, MD)

"Can we be sure Connor's better than what they had there last year?"Last year it was (over the hill) Brooking and Bradie James. So yes, IMO, it is an upgrade. If Carter and Connor do worse I would be happy to assume your Pinapple monicker.

Dan Graziano
  (12:45 PM)

OK, well, that's your opinion, and you may be right. But my question was "can we be sure?" and I don't think we can.

5Star Underdawg (Yonkers, New York)

Dan... Is it safe to say Beatty won't be starting this year? And if so, What scenario do you see as the "Giants" Offensive line?

Dan Graziano
  (12:45 PM)

It is not safe to say that. He's the starter if he's healthy. And if he's not... I don't know. Locklear? Brewer? He needs to be healthy. And to play better.

Adam (Ridgefield, NJ)

Hey Dan -- Rate the BEast QBs in terms of their potential fantasy value this year.

Dan Graziano
  (12:46 PM)

Potential? Vick has the most potential fantasy value because of the rushing yards. So Vick, Romo, Manning, Griffin.

Ryan (NYC)

Would you take both Nicks and Cruz in fantasy or to diversify in case of a bad passing game by the Giants?

Dan Graziano
  (12:46 PM)

I'd take them both. The Giants don't have many bad passing games anymore.

TimVB (Arlington)

Trent Williams? Really?! How about Fred Davis or Garcon? Everyone knows RG3 rolls out to his right not his left.

Dan Graziano
  (12:47 PM)

I mean, it's an opinion. He gonna roll out on every play? Should they just not use a left tackle?

Indigo Montoya (You killed my father)

....prepare to die.... assuming you are the six fingered man.

Dan Graziano
  (12:47 PM)

Indigo? Really? SMH...

Matt (Winston Salem, NC)

Did you get a look at Geoff last week in Ashburn? If so, any thoughts?

Dan Graziano
  (12:47 PM)

Geoff who?

Jeremy (Santa Barbara, CA)

Dan, great chat! Why are you so skeptical of Mike Kafka's ability to win a few games this season when Vick goes down? Any Reid has had great success grooming back up QBs a la Feely, Garcia, Kolb... What makes you think he hasn't worked his magic with Kafka??

Dan Graziano
  (12:48 PM)

There's nothing that makes me think that. It's more a lack of evidence to the contrary. i.e., we haven't seen Kafka do it. It's entirely possible he's ready to start NFL games, and it seems likely that Reid thinks he is. He knows his team.

Richard (PA)

predict the eagles record

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

No.

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

No.

Asher (MCLEAN)

Dan you suck at this!

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

Sorry.

Steve (Bristol)

Other than Fletcher, who's the most important player to have a great year on the Redskin's D if they want to suceed?

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

Orakpo.

Inigo Montoya (You killed my father)

...prepare to die.... assuming you are the six fingered man. (that better Mr. Spelling police?)

Dan Graziano
  (12:50 PM)

Yes. Thank you.

Dan Graziano
  (12:50 PM)

Have fun storming the castle.

Noah (DE)

Likelihood that Otogwe starts?

Dan Graziano
  (12:50 PM)

"Un." As in, it's UNlikely.

Mark (Los Angeles)

Oh, no! Predictions come out on Friday but the first game is on Wednesday. Guess you are guaranteed to get that one right!

Dan Graziano
  (12:51 PM)

1-0. In the bank, baby!

Matt (Winston Salem, NC)

Correction...Any thoughts on Jonathan Goff. He is pretty solid when healthy.

Dan Graziano
  (12:52 PM)

Oh, haha. Goff. I thought you were talking about someone whose first name was Geoff. Sorry about that. Yeah, Goff is a backup behind Fetcher and Riley -- someone Shanahan liked when he coached against him, someone who has a ton of starting experience in the NFL and could plug in easily and play if Fletcher or Riley got hurt. He was cheap and available and they snatched him up. Depth play.

HoF (Sports)

Why should players that use PEDs be "banned" from getting into their respective sports HoF? Don't we as a society push them in that direction anyways wanting our athletes to be more entertaining and biggger-stronger-faster?

Dan Graziano
  (12:53 PM)

I didn't say they should be banned. I just don't vote for them. I only have one vote, not all the votes.

Ivan (over yonder)

The guys at ESPNDallas and DC.com seem intrigued by rookie Matt Johnson at safety and say he will give Pool a good battle for starter.....what percentage would you give him starting over Pool this season?

Dan Graziano
  (12:54 PM)

Percentages! I don't know. 21 percent. The guy is a nobody from nowhere. That he might start says more about Pool, I think.

Ray Finkle (Miami)

So we have confirmed you and I are fans of Game of Thrones and Princess Bride. Monty Python too?

Dan Graziano
  (12:54 PM)

Well, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

Tory (DC)

Do you think Minniefield has a leg up on a corner/db position battle?

Dan Graziano
  (12:55 PM)

Leg up? No. Still an undrafted guy trying to make an NFL roster. But Haslett said they had a third-round grade on him, so he's probably got a better shot than most undrafteds to make the roster.

Matt (Winston Salem, NC)

Any great Fathers Day gifts from Sunday? Besides Webb winning the Open?! The 88 got a win, that was top two for me.

Dan Graziano
  (12:55 PM)

I mean, I got a new iPad. It's really a miracle I'm here talking to you guys and not playing Tiger Woods Golf.

MylesC (NC)

What second year player from each team will have the best impact in the East?

Dan Graziano
  (12:57 PM)

I love these questions today!!!! Let's see... Hankerson, Da'Rel Scott, Jason Kelce, DeMarco Murray.

AJ (Atlanta)

How do you see the G-Men's depth chart breaking out at LB? Kiwi & Boley see to be locked on the edges...but what have you heard so far on the Mike?

Dan Graziano
  (12:58 PM)

They're going to start Blackburn at Mike, at first, and see if someone like Herzlich or Rivers can show enough to take it from him. I guess when you intercept Tom Brady in the Super Bowl, you get to keep the job.

Richard (PA)

finish the sentence at the end of the season the eagles will be holding up the....

Dan Graziano
  (12:59 PM)

Hahaha. Let's make it a quiz. Possible answers: (a) Lombardi Trophy, (b) line at the unemployment office (c)...

Jugador87 (Seattle)

Do you think Goff's experience could push him into the starting lineup next to Fletch? Is Riley already a better player?

Dan Graziano
  (1:00 PM)

No, seriously, Riley is the starter opposite Fletcher. He was last year and has the spot unless he gets hurt. They signed Goff for depth.

TimVB (Arlington)

I concur that Hankerson should make an impact however my money for 2nd Year Player MVP is Kerrigan.

Dan Graziano
  (1:00 PM)

Yes, Kerrigan would have been a good call. Guess I could have said all the 2011 first-round picks, right?

MJThrill (Long Island)

eagles will be holding up the, middle finger to the Cowboys as Dallas heads off to the Superbowl to smack the Pats

Dan Graziano
  (1:00 PM)

middle finger would have been an excellent (c)

BKW (Mt. Airy, MD)

(d) a "Free Car Wash" sign in front of the Linc.

Dan Graziano

This is good stuff...

Tory (DC)

Dan, do you agree with Ashley that Garcon is going to be a number one receiver in DC?

Dan Graziano
  (1:01 PM)

I don't know. After last week, I kind of came away thinking Moss would be the No. 1 WR. Still think there's a chance Davis leads the team in catches, though.

Tucker (IN.)

Who is going to be the biggest surprise in the division this year? Specifically, which player that NO ONE is talking about, that NO ONE is respecting, that NO ONE is saying good things about, is gonna show up and ball. A-la Victor Cruz, who not even die hard giants fans knew anything about before his emergence.

Dan Graziano
  (1:02 PM)

If I knew that, it wouldn't be a surprise, right?

Tory (DC)

I agree, Davis will get a lot of looks. Wonder if Moss will be in the slot though now.

Dan Graziano
  (1:02 PM)

I don't think so. I think they like Hankerson there.

t (d.c)

is there any better celebration in sports then the mutombo finger wag

Dan Graziano
  (1:03 PM)

Mutombo was a Hoya, so I'll go with him.

Dan Graziano (ESPN Blog)

I don't care at all about the 1 o'clock cut off time for our chat

Dan Graziano
  (1:03 PM)

Me neither!

Drew (San Francisco)

Dan Conner or Bruce Carter starting next to Lee?

Dan Graziano
  (1:03 PM)

Yup.

Dan Graziano
  (1:03 PM)

(I say Connor Week 1, Carter by Week... 8)

ryan (michigan)

do you think terrell thomas is in for a probowl season?

Dan Graziano
  (1:04 PM)

Let's see him actually play first. Still coming back from major surgery.

Dan (Austin)

Thoughts on why the Cowboys let Jesse Holey go at WR when they're thin there?

Dan Graziano
  (1:04 PM)

The Cowboys don't lack depth at WR. What they lack is proven quality behind the two starters. They have lots of could-be guys.

Christan Slater (Hollywood)

Wait, is Hank supposed to be the slot player? I thought he played on the outside.

Dan Graziano
  (1:05 PM)

He did in school, of course, but they like him in the slot, and if Moss is really rejuvenated, that might be his best path to playing time. He says he enjoys playing it because of the mismatches. Did I not do a Hankerson post from minicamp? An idea for something to do later this week!

Andy Reid (Philly)

Should I go mustard or kraut on this hot dog?

Dan Graziano
  (1:06 PM)

Hey, you're the doctor.

Mike (Liverpool, Ny)

Dan i did not say you are disrespecting the Giants. But most of the media is including our own NY media talking all jets and Tebow, and it gets very annoying.

Dan Graziano
  (1:06 PM)

All right, we'll wrap this week's chat with this one. All together now... 1... 2... 3.... WHOOOOOOO CARES????????????????????

Dan Graziano
  (1:06 PM)

(bye, see you next week)
