Sorry folks...I'll be right with you...I'm redoing my radio show after latest Allmendinger revelations...I'll be right with you...Again...my apologies.
Who do you think will win the F.W.Webb 200 & the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire?
How about Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart.
Howdy Mark, I hit the "Moderate Moolah" in Fantasy Cup. I finished 18th of 2173 ! I play the ESPN game but find the website WAY TOO tedious and /or cumbersome. O.K. down to business. Looking at Loudon, 11, 39 (sponsor issues) 14, 24, 15, 5, 56, 2 ? It fits money wise. Your thoughts? Thanks, and hope to meet you at Chicagoland this fall. Later, Bill
Bill, I like Tony...Gordon I can live with two..I like the 18 though better than 15...
It would also help Bill and the rest of you if I put out by top-30 pre-race rankings...and here it is...1.Tony Stewart2.Denny Hamlin3.Jimmie Johnson4.Jeff Gordon5.Brad Keselowski6.Dale Earnhardt, Jr.7.Ryan Newman8.Martin Truex, Jr.9.Kasey Kahne10.Greg Biffle11.Joey Logano12.Kyle Busch13.Kevin Harvick14.Carl Edwards15.Sam Hornish, Jr.16.Clint Bowyer17.Matt Kenseth18.Brian Vickers19.Juan Pablo Montoya20.Jeff Burton21.Marcos Ambrose22.Kurt Busch23.Bobby Labonte24.Aric Almirola25.Jamie McMurray26.Paul Menard27.Travis Kvapil28.Landon Cassill29.David Reutimann30.Regan Smith
Will the Boston Red Sox sponsor any Roush Fenway Cars at Loudon?
They had a decal on a Roush Ford before, but it' been awhile.
Is it possible AJ Allmendinger could be re-instated prior to Sunday's race if his B-test comes back negative?I ask because I need to lock in my lineup on Friday and plan to roll with Sam Hornish Jr.
According to Roger Penske, Hornish is the driver this Sunday because they had to move forward earlier this week. Allmendinger's "B" sample could be back by the end of the week, but Penske didn't sound like that would change the situation. It could though and the situation is certainly fluid and new revelations could be coming out every day. I'm looking at using Hornish too and believe Penske doesn't want the chaos of not knowing who the driver is when they leave the shop...It would be hard for me to believe though if all of sudden AJ was given a clean bill of health he wouldn't be in the car...so I guess that's the long way of saying who knows...lol
Mark, hope all is well in CLT. Daytona nipped me in the bud with the 9 getting in a massive wreck. This week right now I have tentatively: 11-39-5-55, however thinking of looking to put the 15 in the 39 or 5 spot potentially? I have 6 starts left with the 39, 5, 15 but think the 39 is so good here I need to start him. Also, with the unfortunate news of Allmendinger and some talk recently that JGR might not get Logano in a 4th car could you see Logano in the 22 now?
Logano is certainly a possible in the 22 if Allmendinger doesn't survive this mess...as for your team I'd lean towards Newman based on what he did last year, but would read my preview as to why that isn't as sure a pick as it was a year ago...Everyone's team practically got nailed by the big wrecks last week..the median average score was 134.
I saw Urt had something on his hood for a change. It looked likea smashed bug. Did he get a sponsorship from Ortho, Raid, or something?
No Ross...that was just some crazy design I do believe..the car was unsponsored.
Hey, Guru!Since it's the Wednesday chat, how about a look ahead to the upcoming chase. Who's in and who's out? Which Wild Car contender gets hot in the next few weeks and emerges the favorite. Also....good idea to pick up Sam Hornish this weekend at NHMS? Thanks as always!
Okay, Corey I'll take a stab at it. The ten with guaranteed spots...Kenseth, Junior, Biffle, Johnson, Stewart, Harvick, Hamlin, Truex, Keselowski, and and Edwards catches Bowyer for tenth..but Bowyer gets a wild card spot and so does Kyle Busch...Busch currently leads the wild card deal but another win by Logano, Newman, or Kasey Kahne will really shake the deal up...another deal that could shake it up if Keselowski fell out of the top-10 with his three wins, but I don't see that happening.
Mr Guru, can we go back to the 48's crash at Daytona for a second? He was hit from behind, but he was still in the groove when he was slowing down to hit pit road. Shouldn't he have ducked below the yellow line to slow down? Where are the guys behind him supposed to go? Interested in your opinion.
I agree Travis there has to be a different way to go with the big pack breathing down your neck. Driver, though are hesitant to go believe the yellow line where they might pick up some trash..and if I'm not mistaken if they should somehow pass somebody when they were down there for any reason that might bring an out of bounds penalty. I need to check more into it though.
48 14 2 18 55 I think all could be at least top 12,what do you think?
I think that's a pretty good line-up Don..48,14, and 18 are potential top-5s..2 is top-10 or better..and Vickers in the 55 could be top-15 or better.
Mark - Do you have any insight into the likelihood that Hornish takes over the #22 for the rest of the season? Thanks for your dedication to your loyal followers.
Allmendinger released a statement today saying he tested positive for a stimulant but has never knowingly taken a prohibited substance...if his story shakes out his way then he's back in, but if he's out for any amount of time Hornish is the likely answer..but next season if Logano is available that might come into play.
Any confirmation on Mears start and park situation for this week? Thanks Guru!
Robby I had this up before anybody because I was told this by his crew chief Bootie Barker..I will verify for Sunday chat...but Barker said they didn't have the money to run Loudon and would be a S&P.
Guru, its early in the week but how about 48-18-14-11-55?
I can live with that team Dave..good-luck..First four could run top-5.
Look to flat tracks, like Phoenix, Richmond, Martinsville for handicapping?
I don't think Martinsville really plays into this..but my research has shown and crew chiefs have told me good runs at Phoenix and Richmond are a good indicator Taylor.
Hi Mark. Which lineup is better: A) 88,14,48,20,& 22 or 88,14,11,31,
I'm assuming Jill the 22 was at the end of the second team...I like the first team a little better though.
Guru, thanks once again for your insight. Nice call on Burton for Daytona. I'm considering 2 teams for this week: 13, 17, 39, 48 and 88 (current lock) or 2, 11, 13, 14, 48. Comments or suggestions?
Dave thanks for the props...but you'll need to rethink your teams because the 13 is planning on be a start and park.
after the lastest update from the Dinger camp i need to ask would Viagra show up in a drug test as a stimulant? Just wondering lol
So is this a joke where you start with let me get this straight? Your a funny guy Zippy..lol
Mark,Who starts on the front row this week? Thanks for the advice on Logano over Biffle last week!!Dan
I'd say take a look at Phoenix and Richmond qualifying to get an idea...and don't have that right in front of me.
Will AJ Allmendinger be suspended for the Rest of the 2012 Sprint Cup Season?
No one knows at this point Chris...if it goes from temporary to indefinite then I would say yes.
Hey man, this segment has been really bad for me, need some help. How's my fantasy team: 88,14,11,18, and 55. Thanks a lot!
That's a pretty good team Bill..I might like Jeff Gordon, though, a bit more than Junior this week and that would fit for your.
How do you think that Danica Patrick will do in the Hollywood Casinos 400 at Kansas?
Hey, I just realized that if I get Sam Hornish Jr. I can have a monster fantasy team, here it is: 88,11,14,48,22. I could get top 7 from the 1st 4 and then if Sam finishes top 20 it could be big!
Like you Bob, I think Hornish could be a sleeper pick this week..and at 12.9 could really make some big cap space..In 2010, Hornish's last year running Cup full-time he had just one top-10 and it was at New Hampshire.
Hi Mark, what's your thoughts on John,Gord,Dale,Burton and R Smith? Thanks for your help
I could live with it right up until you had that typo...Regan Smith was a mistake right? ..lol
The design on Kurts hood was the Old Winston Eagle.....how soon we forget
Wow, I didn't take a good look at it...thanks for the clarification.
22,24,48,14, and 2 or 22,24,48,14 and 11?
I like the 11 a little better than the 2..So, I'd say the second team...both guys though should be really good.
If AJ Allmendinger is Suspended for the Rest of the Season, Who will drive the #22 Shell/Penzoil for the Rest of the Season?
Probably Sam Hornish, Jr...and maybe someone else at the very end of Hornish doesn't work out.
The only issue with that is that I have him under-priced by 0.9. so with the 2nd team I gave you it wouldn't work. Which 3 would you pick: 24,48,14,11,39,5,56,17,16,29,2,15,99,18. Sorry it's so many!
14,11,48 is what I'm thinking Bob.
Hey, how about 88,24,48,5, and 22? And the 14,11,48 is EXACTLY what I have!
I can live with Bob...88 has to come through though with his best performance at New Hampshire in recent seasons.
Folks, again sorry for the delay on the green flag this afternoon...Allmendinger deal is changing by the day and sometimes I get trapped trying to do two things at the same time...Our Sunday chat will get underway at 10:30 eastern this Sunday. Until then have a great week...Sad to say but must "The Guru has left the building."
