Michael Floyd is here!

Drew ((NY))

How is the heat and thunderstorms treating u over there in Zona

Michael Floyd
  (4:08 PM)

It's been good. It's just something I have to adjust to. Being from the Midwest, it's heat and humid, but down there it's a dry heat. I have to adjust to it. I'll have to train in it. After I got chosen by the Cardinals, I've been working outside each day and making sure that I'm conditioned to play in those conditions.

Drew ((NY))

How much do u miss Notre Dame already and what food are u going to miss from there the most?

Michael Floyd
  (4:09 PM)

I miss it quite a bit. In the future I think I'll feel the same. There's nothing like Notre Dame. Football wise or academic wise. It's a one time thing and a lot of people wish they could be on that field because of the tradition and the great guys that have been there. I will also miss hanging out with non-student-athletes. My only job now is knowing the playbook and playing football. For food, being in the dining hall.

ClashmoreMike42 (Valparaiso, IN)

Are you a believer in the Friday the 13th superstition?

Michael Floyd
  (4:10 PM)

Not at all. It depends if you have superstitions and I don't. Today is a regular day for me. Regular day for me to work and get better. Work out and have fun with the friends that are in town or live here.

Aaron (CA)

what are your memories of USC-ND?

Michael Floyd
  (4:12 PM)

I'd say my first memory is freshman year not being able to play them in the Colesium. Watching all of the guys USC had on defense. All 11 were drafted. Seeing them out there, win or lose, it's a great tradition to be there. My best memories is my junior year snapping that streak for them. It was great for me and the team and the university.

Nick (New York)

What team did you think would draft you in the 2012 draft? What team did you like the most growing up?

Michael Floyd
  (4:13 PM)

I really didn't favor too many teams growing up. But I'm really, really excited and blessed that I landed in a good spot in Arizona. The comraderie around the team is exceptional. Being able to learn from Larry Fitzgerald, who I believe is the best WR in the NFL. Landing in Arizona, I couldn't be any happier.

Evan (Auburn, Ala.)

Michael, have you gotten a chance to play NCAA 13? What is your favorite part about it?

Michael Floyd
  (4:14 PM)

I have not had a chance to play it. But I believe I probably will because there is so much time on your hands so you have to do something when you're not at work. But I feel as the days and months go on I'll have a chance to play it.

Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)

Michael, What is it going to be like to play WR with Larry Fitzgerald?

Michael Floyd
  (4:15 PM)

I think it will be pretty cool. You always dream to be in this position. To be in the NFL. Being a first round draft pick is very exciting, but once you get there, whatever you are, the draft, a first round pick, doesn't matter any more. I keep a level head to make sure I keep working out there and you're not granted a spot in the starting lineup.

Matt (Chicago)

I'm a huge ND fan. How did your time at ND help prepare you for a career in the NFL?

Michael Floyd
  (4:16 PM)

First of all, being with Coach Weis is kind of similar offense to the NFL. He was from the NFL. Coach Kelly had a good offense. Teams are playing a spread offense and a pro offense, so I'm glad I got to experience both. I'm glad to get both sides of each offense.

Drew (Los Angeles)

Mike really enjoyed watching you at ND! What was the best part of staying for your 4th year as opposed to coming out after 3?

Michael Floyd
  (4:17 PM)

Being a senior in high school, you don't want to miss prom and you only get one chance in high school. The same is for college. You only get one chance. I wanted to do that. I also wanted to graduate. You're there for three years, you've been there that long, you might as well hold on and graduate.

Aaron (OHIO)

how do you think the Irish are gonna do this year? also good luck in the pros man!

Michael Floyd
  (4:18 PM)

Pretty well. They have a hard schedule, but I think the guys that are playing, the leaders there and Coach Kelly being the coach that he is, they will overcome what everyone thinks and build the team to a successful year.

Morgan (AL)

Will this offense become a pass first offense now with you and Fitzgerald?

Michael Floyd
  (4:19 PM)

You never know. It goes by what's working well. For me and what all of my teammates think, the most important thing is winning. If that means winning by the running game or by the passing game, whatever it takes to win we'll do.

Scott (St Joseph, MI)

At Michigan your sophomore season, that play in the end zone where you injured your knee..what were your first thoughts?

Michael Floyd
  (4:20 PM)

I didn't really look at my leg first, but when I saw it, I thought I was done for the season. I went in the back and I got stitched up. I knew it was a close game, but I felt that I wasn't able to perform at the level I wanted to. We felt short that game. I was disappointed in myself.

Michael Floyd
  (4:21 PM)

I just want to say, without the fans, I wouldn't be Michael Floyd. At Notre Dame I had a great experience. I appreciated everything you gave me and my teammates for the four years I was there. I will remember that the rest of my life. I'm excited to be a Arizona Cardinal.
