Ohm
  (2:01 PM)

Hey guys!

Matt (Hoboken)

After the Thomas injury, over/under at 3.5 days for Deon Grant to be back in camp?I'm hoping the under. Great leader, good player, supposedly in great shape, provides depth, and makes us more versatile. What is the downside?

Ohm
  (2:02 PM)

Hey Matt. Well I'd say it might take longer for the Giants to figure out the damage to Thomas' knee. So could be over. But I'd definitely be all for Grant coming back. Great guy. And that gives Fewell option to go three safety look too if they don't trust someone in slot.

Rafael (NYC(Washington Heights))

I dont nkow whats with all this hype with the Cowboys, Eagles , and Redskins last time i checked The GIANTS are the Superbowl Champions! And did i mention we have the Best QB in the division? Eli wins one more superbowl and he will be in the "One of the greatest QBs of all time" discussion while these other QBs are struggling just to make it into the playoffs! Lets Go Eli!!

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

I don't think it is people dissing the Giants. I just think people see what the Eagles did and the talent they had also factor in that the Giants didn't look impressive at 7-7 until turning it on at the end of the season, also factor in their insane schedule, and the NFC East could be up for grabs.

Ohm
  (2:03 PM)

But no argument about Eli. Definitely best in the division and easily top 5 in NFL.

Brian (Charlotte )

How has Ramses Barden looked in your opinion Ohm, I see there is a lot of buzz regarding Jernigan, and has there been an update on Terell Thomas's injury besides the partial tear?

Ohm
  (2:04 PM)

Brian, no update yet on TT. He is heading West to consult with the DR who did his surgery. As for Barden, he has made nice catches over the middle or on the sideline, using his big body and frame. He is a big target and has good hands. But from a playmaking standpoint, Jernigan has looked better but still a long ways to go.

Mike (DC)

Ohmie the Homie....glad to see you back with the chat at 2pm. I have a few thoughts; can Barden finally step up this year? Who's your projected starting MILB, and do you see Grant coming back with Thomas's injury?

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

Mikey, well, just answered Barden... we'll see. I think they will use him some this year but as for breakout year, not sure about that. Depends on opportunity he gets. As for MLB, Blackburn starts but Herzlich could gain some in camp. Rivers is hurt right now so it looks like Blackburn could stick. And with Grant, yes, possible.

Cobra Commander (Cobra Island)

Can 2012 third-rounder Jayron Hosley make an impact as a rookie?

Ohm
  (2:06 PM)

COBRA! Might take him a while. He suffered a laceration to his knee which required stitches yesterday. Also has a bunch of experienced corners ahead of him. But if TT is out, he has more snaps now as well.

Henry (NYC)

Fantasy Question: Who are some of your sleepers this year from around the league?

Ohm
  (2:08 PM)

Henry, going to need more time on this. I've been focused only on Giants and haven't done any research yet on how others are doing around the league. Just off the top of my head, I'd keep an eye on Cincinnati running back situation and BJGE. If in PPR, keep an eye on Jacquizz Rogers in Atlanta and how they use him in preseason. Watch Josh Freeman in TB this preseason. How about Vincent Brown in SD?

JD (NYC)

Is T2's career most likely over?

Ohm
  (2:09 PM)

JD, not sure. Got to see how bad the damage is. Sure hope it's not but coming back from a third ACL injury... that is really hard.

Jeremy (Rockland)

Hey OHM!!! Very sad news about TT... Given the amount of DBs on the roster that are trying to comeback from injury, do you see the Giants looking outside the organization to bring in somebody that might help?? I know it's not their style but they have to consider it at some point with the the inexperience they presently have there should TT be out for the year again... your thoughts???

Ohm
  (2:10 PM)

Jeremy, it's possible they see what is available and what will become available after cuts. Deon Grant always a possibility to add another veteran in the secondary behind those other guys.

Anthony (Charleston SC)

If Thomas is gone do the Giants re-sign Deon Grant to run more three safety coverage? Or is Sash looking like the option for the third safety?

Ohm
  (2:10 PM)

Sash third safety now. Grant always a possibility to come back. Seems very possible.

Arcangelo (Jamaica, NY)

Ok. So Ahmad Bradshaw is obviously going to be the starting RB for the Giants come week 1. Who do you think will get the back up job? Any chance that David Wilson is the backup at the start of next season?

Ohm
  (2:11 PM)

Arcangelo, definitely a possibility. But got to earn it and earn the trust of the coaching staff by being able to protect Eli. I think it is going to come down to who shines in preseason games. At the moment, I can see them trusting a veteran more like Ware until Wilson's talent emerges.

Tom McDougall (Toms River, New Jersery)

is terell done?

Ohm
  (2:12 PM)

T... just want to make sure you don't think I was ignoring your question. But did answer this earlier. Don't know yet and hope not.

Ed (Rockland County)

Ohm, my question regards the TE situation. With the loss of Ballard, is Bennet ready (or capable) of finding the relationship with Eli that Ballard had. It seems Eli is more trusting of the receivers willing to learn from him...Bennett comes from a place where it is safe to say he probably has some bad habits.

Ohm
  (2:13 PM)

Ed, going to take some time for Bennett and Eli to get on same page but they have connected a few times on passes in camp so far. Bear has the edge so far based on early practices. They've also been passing to Hynoski out of the backfield as well. But if Bennett is as good as advertised as a blocker, then he will get opportunities to catch.

Trevor (DC)

I know it's early, but where does Wilson stand in the RB depth chart at the moment? It took AB so long to crack it (despite being way more talented than BJ) due to his poor pass protection. Do you see the same thing happening to Wilson?

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

Trevor, based on carries so far, I would say AB, Ware, Brown and then Scott and Wilson (Scott was injured earlier). I do think it will take Wilson time to get carries. Rookies have to earn coaches' trust.

rich (NY)

Biggest concern for me is Nicks, everything i hear he is on pace to practice in 2 weeks. Does this mean he will be ready for opening night if you had to guess?

Ohm
  (2:14 PM)

Rich, I think Nicks will be ready for season opener. That is the plan. Just worry about his conditioning. But he looks in shape. Football shape is a different thing. But otherwise, I think he will be fine.

Dave (Brooklyn)

Ohm - Do the Giants plan to resign Osi at the end of the season?

Ohm
  (2:16 PM)

Dave, got to wait to see how that shakes out and what kind of season Osi has. But remember, they'll have to eventually pay JPP and Tuck so Osi won't get the kind of money he wants from the Giants. If he can come back on the cheap, yeah. But I don't see that happening unless Osi has no market or he got hurt.

Matt (Windsor Locks)

Hi Ohm, do you think Marvin Austin can make an impact?

Ohm
  (2:17 PM)

Hey Matt, the Giants certainly hope so. He is making his way through camp so far. Rogers has looked good actually inside there as well. Let's see what Austin does in preseason games.

Ben (Washington, DC)

Hey Ohm,How's Pascoe and Hynoski looking so far in camp? Also, looks like Bennett is making some nice catches. Do you think the Giants won't miss a beat without Ballard and Beckum?

Ohm
  (2:18 PM)

Hey Ben, look at answer below but Bear has probably the most catches at tight end so far in camp. Very early. Bennett has caught a few as well. Hynoski has definitely caught some out of backfield and I think he could be used more like that if a tight end does not emerge. As for not skipping a beat... well, Giants didn't use tight end a ton last couple of years but Ballard came up big in clutch at times. We have to wait to see if Bear or Bennett can do that.

Eddie (Long island)

How does TT get hurt 2 days into camp, his knee couldnt have been fully healed? Can Prince step up this year and play upto his potential

Ohm
  (2:19 PM)

Eddie, he slipped while trying to cover Domenik. He was cleared without limitations by the doctors. Perhaps bad luck. As for Prince, we'll find out. He had a good practice in camp yesterday and an interception a few days ago. But Giants won't rush him.

Rick (Queens)

Hey Ohm, there is tons of hype for David Wilson, but i feel that Da'rel scott can be just as good, plus he has a year of experience. What are your thoughts ?

Ohm
  (2:20 PM)

Da'Rel Scott may be thicker and has great speed. But not as explosive at line of scrimmage or as shifty. But I would like to see what he can do with more carries in preseason games.

Mike (NY)

Ohm- Who starts the season as the 2nd rb behind bradshaw?

Ohm
  (2:20 PM)

Mike, don't know yet. Could be Ware, guessing that they will trust a veteran a bit more than a rookie for now.

Ohm
  (2:21 PM)

Or Brown.

pharaoh (phx)

first, ohm, though you did a great job of covering g-men throughout last year...great info without bein' a 'homer'... on to this season: Is the weak link on D in the secondary? Sounds like we've got lots of good bodies at LB and D-line. And, won't that take some pressure off secondary?

Ohm
  (2:22 PM)

Thanks Pharaoh... well, some people out there think I should be a Giants fan but I am not paid to do that. I am paid to cover them. As for weak link in secondary, clearly they need to find a second and third cornerback now with Thomas hurt. Definitely have depth at DL and LB. But still got to be able to cover.

Ryan (Long Island)

Ohm! Who has impressed you the most so far in camp? What player do you think can surprise some people this year?

Ohm
  (2:22 PM)

Ryan, so far, if I had to pick one breakout player so far after just four practices, I would say Jernigan is the frontrunner.

Ethan (NY)

I really liked the way the Giants used Hynoski as a check down last year in the playoffs...are the Giants looking to use him like that again and maybe even expand his role?

Ohm
  (2:23 PM)

I can see that more if a tight end does not emerge. They've done that a bit in camp so far.

Joe (NY)

Ohm- How has Randle looked in camp so far?

Ohm
  (2:24 PM)

Good. Nice size and hands across the middle. Doesn't have blazing speed but looks like a decent possession receiver who might have ability to do some damage on the outside.

Stephen (Manhattan)

What can the Giants expect out of Will Hill this year? Been hearing good things about him out of camp

Ohm
  (2:25 PM)

Well, they like him and he has flashed so far. I don't know if he will make the final roster. Depends on how the rest of the secondary shakes out, do they bring back Deon Grant, etc. But he could be on the practice squad if he does not make the final roster.

Trevor (DC)

Is there any way you can do a daily or at least weekly interview of Martellus Bennet. That guy is a quote machine... possibly funniest man in the NFL (likely unintentionally)

Ohm
  (2:25 PM)

Trevor... not a bad idea. Maybe I will dust off my dating advice column from my Daily News days and do a few with him.

Matt (Windsor Locks)

Ohm, is it me or does Andre Brown look like Flavor Flav? (not saying it's a bad thing . . )

Ohm
  (2:26 PM)

Matt... LOL!. Hmm. Now you got me trying to picture Andre with a clock on. All joking aside, nah, they don't look alike. But I do love me some FLAVOR FLAV!

Danny (New York, NY)

Ohm, If Wilson has has a break out season, do we just draft anyone that can backflip going forward?

Ohm
  (2:26 PM)

Danny, yes, you can never have enough backflippers.

Mitch (SI )

Ohm- O-line a major concern? Beatty and Diehl at tackle scare me!

Ohm
  (2:27 PM)

Mitch... only day five of camp! As one of my favorite singers Aaron Hall used to say, 'Don't be Afraid.'

Primo (New York, NY)

Will we see Terrell Thomas get some playing time this season? Will we see more of Prince Amukamara or Michael Coe?

Ohm
  (2:28 PM)

Primo, hard to imagine that with TT. I hope I am wrong. Good dude. Very good dude. As for Prince and Coe, yeah, you could see a lot more of those guys. Those two and Tryon and Bruce Johnson in the mix to start. Throw in Hosley in there if he does well in camp as well. But I think it comes down to Coe, Tryon and Prince.

mike (woodbridge)

Hey Ohm--do you think the giants will be able to lock up cruz, nicks, jpp and tuck long term? What do you see happening with KP?

Ohm
  (2:29 PM)

Mike, I hope so. Great talent there. Core of the team really. Going to take some creativity for the Giants. As for Kenny, depends on the season he has. I think the Giants have a price in mind. I can see Kenny coming back unless he gets more money elsewhere.

Barry (Norwalk)

With no Thomas, will the G-Men go after a CB or Dion Grant? And what the chatter like with Jones' jab against Giants?

Ohm
  (2:30 PM)

Hey Barry, today is a day off. Giants will likely respond tomorrow. I hope.

Frankie (BK)

Ohm- Assuming TT is done does Rolle go back into the nickle CB role? I'm thinking with Prince, Coe, Tryon, Molden, Hosely he stays at safety.

Ohm
  (2:31 PM)

Possible that if they do not trust others to handle slot, Rolle can do it. But I am with you, think they can find someone to do it. But that is why Grant coming back makes sense, they can go three safety if need be.

Stephen (Manhattan)

Ohm, what've you heard about Keith Rivers so far at training camp? Is he the same as he was in Cincy, or is he playing like the 1st-round that he was supposed to be?

Ohm
  (2:31 PM)

Stephen, he has missed the last two practices with a hamstring injury. Hard to evaluate so far.

Brian (Charlotte)

Ohm, I am overly excited about the Giants rematch with 49ers I thik that will be my favorite to watch this year but what matchup are you most looking forward to watching this year?

Ohm
  (2:32 PM)

That one will be great. And I love going to SF. Great city. As for matchup I am looking forward to... so many, GB, PIT. But I am looking forward to final game of the year -- Eagles vs Giants. Hope division will be on the line.

Jonah (Staten Island)

Are you worried about Lawrence Tynes in long range situations. I know TC never uses him in 45+ yard situations but for the end of the game kicks in that range are you worried? He was never really tested last year

Ohm
  (2:33 PM)

Weatherford said Tynes has bulked up this year and is stronger and should get more opportunities. I'm not too worried about him over 45. Now 50 or over, that is tough. But I hear ya.

Mike (White Plains)

What is the depth chart at CB looking like if we assume TT is done? Obviously Webster is in the first spot, but who will be playing opposite him and come in on the nickel?

Ohm
  (2:34 PM)

Perry told me the other day not to focus on the depth chart because it changes daily. But this is what I have gathered so far through four practices: Webster, Thomas (injured), Coe, Tryon, Johnson, Prince, Bing, Molden.

Ohm
  (2:34 PM)

Oh and throw in Dante Hughes as well.

Rick (Queens)

Hey Ohm, Hows Will Beatty back doing ?

Ohm
  (2:35 PM)

Holding up well so far. Haven't seen him miss time yet.

Paul (Chi)

Hey ya'll, enjoy the games!

Ohm
  (2:35 PM)

Love when we all love one another.

Nehma (Newark)

How has Brewer looked so far in camp at tackle?

Ohm
  (2:36 PM)

Nehma, hard to say so far. I haven't focused in too much on offensive line while trying to watch the receivers, tight ends and defense. But I'll try to focus more on the line this week.

Nightmare (Right behind you)

How is Brandon Mosely doing? He started for a national championship team in his first year playing the OT position, and i think he's the RT of the future.

Ohm
  (2:37 PM)

Still coming in as a reserve. And will be a reserve this year. But he is a big boy.

Ken (Brooklyn, NY)

Will Da'Rel Scott get some touches? Will he share with David Wilson?

Ohm
  (2:37 PM)

Yup, behind Bradshaw, Ware and Brown, then those two.

Ethan (NYC)

From what I've been reading and hearing there have been a lot of interceptions in camp so far. Is this something we should be worried about? Is Eli reverting to 2010 form?

Ohm
  (2:38 PM)

Nah, wouldn't worry about that at all. Hasn't been a ton of INTs and not all of them are thrown by Eli. Some by Carr.

Lance (CT)

if Eli got injured for the season right now would you get another QB or stick with David?

Ohm
  (2:38 PM)

Jerry said he would stick with Carr. But you would have to see if that situation ever happened. And if you are a Giants fan, don't hope for that to happen ever, not because of Carr but because Eli is so good.

william (nyc)

hey ohm tebow or sanchez who would you like to face in a super bowl.

Ohm
  (2:40 PM)

William, if you are asking me if I were a defensive coordinator, who would I want to face... probably Tebow just because you would try to challenge him to throw down field more often and gear up against run. But of course, I am not a defensive coordinator nor no where near as smart as one. LOL.

ASN (NY)

Who is going to be the return guy this year? Return game need to be better so Eli and the O are n't always tarting at or inside the 20.

Ohm
  (2:40 PM)

So far, Hixon, Hosley, Jernigan and Randle are in the mix. I'd say Jernigan might have the ever so slight lead. But we will see.

David (Bronx)

Hey Ohm, with the injury to Terrell Thomas do you see the Giants bringing in another corner, how about Aaron Berry, he's a talented but problematic player, but maybe coming to a world class organization will change him...Keep Up The Good Work Ohm!

Ohm
  (2:41 PM)

Hmm... Good name to put out there. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Ed (headed to Albany)

Ohm, looking to head to camp for a day with a five and six year old. Any recommendations on best way to make the experience fantastic for the two Giant fanatics?

Ohm
  (2:42 PM)

Young kids! Well, the players do sign autographs on way out but I would bring them when autograph night is on. That would be better way to ensure you get an autograph from their favorite players. Come up that night. No date yet. Check Giants.com for the date and updates.

Kevin (Maryland)

Ohm, Why not bring in Plax as the third WR? He certainly has a skill set we could use and would be a relatively cheap option, not to mention we know what he is rather than waiting on barden or someone else.

Ohm
  (2:43 PM)

Kevin, as a fellow Spartan, I am all for Plax. But they got enough receivers in camp and they need to see what they can do. They drafted Randle for a reason. Don't see Plax coming back.

Jerry (home)

Ohm my man- hear Herzlich looks great in camp. Is he the starting MLB by mid season?

Ohm
  (2:44 PM)

Jerry, always a chance he could emerge as season progresses. Got to see how Keith Rivers factors in as well. Or maybe they use less true MLB and go with Boley and Jacquian more with Kiwanuka at DE and more cornerbacks or safeties. But with so many LBs, Fewell has options.

Joe (BK)

Ohm- you jumping on the Brooklyn Net bandwagon?

Ohm
  (2:45 PM)

I always have love for the Nets. Covered them for five seasons. Same for the Knicks, though. Covered them for five years as well.

Craig (Fairfield, CA)

Hey Ohm, heard you on with Freddie Coleman last night. Is Ramses Barden still with the club?

Ohm
  (2:45 PM)

All the way out in Fairfield? Nice. Ramses is definitely still with the club and battling for time at third or fourth receiver.

Fear Does not Exist (In this Dojo)

Heard Boley's hammy was minor. Do you think he will match his level of play from last year?

Ohm
  (2:46 PM)

It isn't serious. That is correct. I don't see why he can't? He knows defense better than ever and is a leader on the team as well. More talent around him now too.

Ohm
  (2:46 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for all the questions, got to get back to writing a Prince story for tomorrow. Have a great week friends.
