Hello, hello. Thanks for coming. Let's go...
Paul, honest opinion, MJD staying or going?
Going where? I don't see someone making a big play to trade for him.
whats your take on the jags in london?
I have no problem with it. Take a chance on potentially growing the fan base.
Give me your perspective on what the Titans were thinking when they chose Locker over Gabbert. Only time will tell who was right, but Gabbert looked cleaner coming out of college.
Leadership and personality were big factors.
With the new upgrades to LP and the performance stage can they host a super bowl now?
They didn't add seats or adjust the February weather.
if schaub gets hurt again and misses more that 3 games is he back again for houston?
Gabbert doesnt have a good personality?
I didn't say not good, did I? They are different. Gabbert a little cockier and more laid back.
Why is the Kenny Britt situation taking so long?
Is it long? Have you studied the average time between a meeting with the commish and a handing down of suspensions?
Ive been hearing that Marcedes Lewis has had a good camp, but i havent seen him do very much at all on the field. Is it Mularkey trying to bring back his confidence?
He can have a good camp and you not see much in two preseason games. Mularkey isn't a guy who's going to say things in the media to build up a guy's confidence. And Lewis isn't some little kid.
Do you think the Texans re-sign both Schaub and Barwin?
From what you saw at camp and at preseason. Did locker have command of the team or were they still loyal to Hasselbeck
Reps were split and it was a competition. Guys didn't develop a loyalty to one or the other. Would have been dumb to do so not knowing which was gong to win.
Who will have the bigger season, M Thomas or L Robinson?
Better be Robinson.
Paul,Do you think the Titans might trade Hasselback?
Nope. Maybe next year.
What's your opinion on the Titans Pass Rush this year?
I fear that it won't be very good. The tackles can be great though.
So Jags were saying Will Rackley had HUGE upside last year. Now they seem very content to let Britton "compete" for the LG spot. Rackley had a rough year, how good of a prospect is he?
He's one of their best five linemen, for sure, I think.
Looking forward to seeing if Jags offense can keep producing vs. Ravens. Think if the starters continue to improve the Jags can compete for a division title?
Wild Card maybe. I can't see Jags ahead of Houston.
Who will be the best CB available for the Colts to pick up after cuts?
You want me to predict CB cuts for 31 teams and project the best fit for the Colts? That's asking a lot, no?
Who has the best offensive line in the division? Rank em all!
Not good overall. I'd say Texans, Titans, Jaguars, Colts.
Is Locker's accuracy issue overblown? Or is it a legitimate concern?
I don't understand how anyone could see what he's done in the preseason and say it's overblown. He's not accurate enough.
Will MJD automatically be the starter when he comes back or will he have to beat out Jennings?
He will have to work for a while to get ahead of him. But I wouldn't call it a competition where he would have to beat out Jennings.
Should Reynaud take Mark Mariani's spot as return man and let mark focus on his receiving?
If Mariani's not the returner he shouldn't be on the team. He's getting way overrated as a returner. Not an explosive guy to me.
Not sure of waiver rules,do the Colts get first shot at everyone that is waived or do the go to the end of the line if they make a claim? Also if you claim a waiver guy you are also taking his current contract yes?
First shot at everyone. A while into the season it then shifts to the current standings instead of last year's.
Did I read correctly that games missed by Kenny Britt while on PUP list can also count as games suspended under league discipline? I guess that still hits the pocket book but doesn't encourage teams to be proactive on discipline.
The suspension will run concurrently with PUP time, yes. But PUP is at least six weeks missed. You don't put him out for six weeks to offset a two-or three- week suspension.
Who gets cut out of Tommie Campbell, Ryan Mouton, Coty Sensabaugh and Chris Hawkins?
Campbell is the third corner, he's not in any danger at all of getting cut. Sensabaugh will make it, I think. Not sure about the other two. I tend to think Hawkins over Mouton.
Is there any chance the way that Anger is playing and the rest of the top two picks are playing so far could the Jaguars ever get respect for a draft.
Doesn't matter how well Anger plays, it doesn't justify misperception of his value in the context of the draft.
I feel the replacement ref situation has been overblown. People complained about regular refs, im pretty sure if no one had told the public most wouldnt have known the difference. Your thoughts?
I absolutely disagree. These guys are pretty horrible. Given a choice between the best or scrubs, you're OK with scrubs? Why the low standards?
Alright PK. Hypothetical here. Let's say you're a free-agent head coach. Every team in the AFC South wants to hire you except the Texans. Who you choosing and for what reason?
Indy. Because I get Luck.
Who do you feel currently has the edge at Texans' #3 WR? Will they keep all three of the youngsters?
Clearly it's Keshawn Martin. He's impressive. Absolutely they keep all three.
Do you think Alan Ball will be cut when all is said and done? He seems to show more weakness than the younger CBs on the team like McMannis and Carmichael.
He has two more games and lots more practice. Too early to say. McManis is on the team for sure, I believe.
do you think the titans had the best draft class of 2011 in afc south based on last year?
Hard to say no since they have so many guys already in the lineup. But other teams didn't need to call on as many picks as early. It doesn't mean those classes can't be as good or better.
With Lee Evans gone, do you see the Jags keeping Blackmon, Robinson, Thomas, Shorts and Robiskie as the fifth?
Probably. Kevin Elliott could stick too, maybe changing something. May not be around for practice squad.
Do you see Griff Whalen making the Colts? He had a really impressive second preseason game, but he does have a lot of competition. I guess a lot of it has to do with how Collie holds up.
I don't. I suspect Jabin Sambrano outranks him, and I am not sure he's making it. Maybe Kris Adams too.
Really disappointed that Austin Collie had another concussion-like incident..don't even know what to call it...but does this give Brazil the chance to do some big things? Or don't exepct much?
Call it a concussion. T.Y. Hilton and LaVon Brazill will both have a lot of opportunity, with or without Collie active.
So when should i decide to show up to Everbank?
Predict your AFC South standings at the end of the year?
My order won't be a surprise, but it's not going to be unveiled here.
will montell owens get any playing time on offense this year
He's the No. 2 running back with MJD out, so that means some action on offense. And he's a key special teamer.
Do you think we should release Dave Ball for his own sake. The concussions he has had already are scary, and more could be devastating.
I think he'll be released because he's not that good.
With his new role, will Reggie Wayne fill the void left by Austin Collie? Wayne mentioned he will be all over the field and not lined up in just one position.
That was the case fro the start. How can one starter fill the void left by another starter?
Who do you see putting up more yards this year, Chris johnson or A. Foster?
Is what we've seen from Blaine Gabbert so far a biproduct of playing during the preseason or actual progression? Your thoughts in camp were that he hadn't progressed that much.
I was there near the beginning. He's certainly made progress since then. Preseason doesn't automatically translate, but you can't dismiss it. It is all he's got right now, and he's gone against first team defenses.
If you have #1 Fantasy draft pick, do you take Foster?
should jaguars fans actually be excited. I know its the preseason but the offense certainly can't be worse than it was last year can it?
Temper expectations, but yeah, be excited. Why not?
right now who who is the weakest link on the titans oline?
Probably Fernando Velasco. Maybe Leroy Harris.
Wright gonna be a 1 or 2 with Britt out? Or a 3 regardless?
Seems like he'll be No. 2 to Nate Washington. I'm a bit surprised he's not three, behind Damian Williams, and kind of think it's still possible for opening day.
With the end of the Polian era in Indy, do you see the Colts making significant waves in the FA market next spring with the gross amount of cap room they are going to have? Some veteran defensive FA could help shore up the defense in a shorter time frame than the draft.
I think they add two or three starters in free agency next year. Starters who cost money.
Is there a free agent the Texans can sign at NT?
They aren't doing anything now. Shaun Smith is available. I don't see that move.
So, when teams release players on Monday, are they subject to waiver rules or are they considered FA's? In other words, do the Colts have first shot or do they compete with every team?
Depends if they are vested. If they've been in the league four years, they are a free agent. If not, they have to clear waivers.
Scouts Inc had Schaub ranked #15? Do you think that is too low? If so, who do you think he is better than in the top 14?
I think he's better than Joe Flacco. Don't have a huge argument about anyone else ahead of him.
When Rackley comes back will the jags put him back in the starting lineup at guard and move Britton back to right tackle or leave Britton at guard?
I would hope Britton back to right tackle.
Why don't the texans make an effort to get wallace?
The Steelers aren't trading him. And he wants a huge contract and Houston doesn't have that kind of cap room.
Game of Thrones or True Blood?
First off, if you make it to a Texans home game, come tailgate with us in Blue Lot by the Blue 22 sign. We'll yell to you. Second, what happens with Ben Tate next season?
Of course I will be at games at Reliant. I always appreciate the invitations. But it makes me sad that people don't think, 'Oh, he's working.'
Let's have the records for each team in the division if the team were to lose their starting QB in Week 1. Who can best withstand that detriment?
The Titans have the best backup.
Some of the feedback from Blackmon's first game was that he blocked well. Could you see him as being a Hines Ward type receiver w/o the attitude or does he have more game breaking YAC potential?
Way more explosive and way more YAC potential.
Reynauld.. Staying or going?
Staying. He will play kickoff and punt coverage tonight. Watch for that and see how he does.
Who is the writer that influenced you the most?
Probably George Vecsey.
Locker's been locking in to Wright in the first two preseason games. Is that more of a lack of going through progressions or trying to develop a rapport in your opinion?
Locking in on a guy doesn't help you develop rapport with them.
Typically, you need a pro bowl qb to get to the playoffs. Remember, Hassy was a MVP candidate half way through the season last year with no CJ. Locker won't be a pro bowler this year. Where is the logic?
How can a young QB ever become a Pro Bowl quarterback unless he's given a chance to play?
Do you think the AFC South has a good chance at having a wildcard team this year?
No. Quite a slim chance, actually.
Think Freeney will even want to stay in the 3-4 in Indy next year? Will the Colts try to resign him if he succeeds?
I can't see him getting a new deal there. Bet he looks to see what life might be like elsewhere. But who knows. Maybe it's a huge success.
You think all the Bandwagon Colts fan that jumped off when 18 left are gonna jump right back on? And how many games until they do?
I thikn most of them will still be watching. And when things go better, they'll get excited. Even if they are wearing Denver Manning jerseys.
Who do the Jags release- Henne, Palmer, or Enderle?
They could release Palmer and Enderle. They aren't releasing Henne. Enderle for sure.
Who do you think the Titans cut to keep Reynaud. I just don't think they'll want to keep 4 backs. I wish they would cut ties with Ringer already.
I know people really want it to be an either/or proposition, but it's not. There are a bunch of connected, moving parts in roster decisions.
Huge Titans fan. Is this the year we see Jared Cook Jr have a breakout season?
He flashes and disappears. I expect h will continue to do the same...
With Redding down, do we make any trades before waivers to help shore up my D-Line?
It's not like he's out for the season.
Is QB the only position where the best player loses out to a rookie/youngster that needs playing experience?
Teams are always weighing youth vs. age, ceilings against floors at all positions.
Pass interference on QB, no make that the Flanker, uh, and uh,... 1st down & 5 to go to end this chat.
See you, folks. Thanks for coming.
