Hey guys, what's up?

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What New York Giants will be Cut to Trim the Roster to 53?

Ohm
  (3:00 PM)

Chris, I have been trying to take some guesses myself: Here's defense: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/giants/post/_/id/16365/roster-analysis-defense-and-special-teamsAnd offense: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/giants/post/_/id/16299/roster-analysis-offense-final-cuts

LL (MI)

Hey Ohmie, I sorry to bother you again, i want to give you and everyone else early notice of a certain team that's coming to rock the "Roll Tide" clock. Also, there's a stampede of horses on the way for a certain team I cannot type at this time.....Thanks Buddy!!!

Ohm
  (3:02 PM)

LL... LOL!!!!! Dude, I'm not a Saban fan after he left MSU... but even I am looking forward to the beatdown Alabama is going to put on Michigan. And as for the Spartans, very eager to see how they come out on Friday. Starting against quality opponents this early in the season is usually tough for MSU.

Rich (New Jersey)

Heading to the Giants - Patriots game tonight, what positions will the coaches be looking at the most this evening?

Ohm
  (3:04 PM)

There are plenty. Check out my offense and defense analysis in the Giants blog and the links I posted in first answer. Look at linebacker, cornerback, defensive tackle, defensive end (backup), wide receiver. There are several names to keep an eye on... like David Douglas, Marcus Thomas, Greg Jones, Adewale Ojomo, the running backs as well. Here is my What To Watch For Tonight: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/giants/post/_/id/16349/wtwf-a-final-chance-to-shine

Matt (Short Hills)

Ohm, I havent heard a timetable for T2's return. Any word?

Ohm
  (3:04 PM)

Hey Matt... no timetable although TT was supposed to see the doctor on Wednesday to see if he can start running this week. I think he is still a ways away.

joe (farmingdale)

I havent seen much of Rueben Randall with the first team in games, what are the team's plans for him this year?

Ohm
  (3:05 PM)

Joe, I think they want to ease Randle in. He has had a few snaps with first team, not a lot. But I think he will be used in certain situations as the third receiver until he emerges as that guy perhaps later in the season.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Ohm! I hope this isn't my last chat as we have the worst of Isacc just hours away. I just wanted to wish everyone safety and health till this is all over. I have my fantasy draft Saturday and hope we don't lose power. So who are some sleeper picks I should target late in my draft? Thanks.

Ohm
  (3:08 PM)

Rach! Are you safe???? Please stay safe! I hope you and your family and friends will be out of harm's way. Oh man, that is insane about the potential power outage. I guess you have to pre-rank as many players as possible although I did see there are Apps for mobile phones to do live drafting so that might be an option for you. Sleeper picks? I like Jax WR Justin Blackmon, Tenn's WR Kendall Wright, Indy WR Austin Collie, GB RB Cedric Benson, Atlanta's Jacquizz Rogers, Tenn TE Jared Cook among others. Good luck and stay safe Rach!

Mike (White Plains)

When the offense goes to a 3 WR set, it seems like Cruz will move to the slot. Nicks will obviously be on one side, but what is your prediction for who will be opposite him, both to start the year and end the year? (Hixon, Barden, Jernigan and Randle)

Ohm
  (3:09 PM)

Mike, I think they will use guys based on situations... Hixon will start as third WR but they could bring in Barden, Randle and possibly Jernigan based on yardage and down when with three WRs. By end of the year? My guess is Randle emerges.

nate (wmsbg)

with david wilson looking so good against the bears does that guarantee theat he will get a lot of touches?

Ohm
  (3:09 PM)

Nate, no guarantees but I think they got to give him touches and get him on the field. He's a weapon. But with any rookie, there is a learning curve. But he is exciting and should get touches in my mind. I think he has to be the backup RB and change of pace type guy.

Jeremy (Rockland)

Hey OHM! Who would you be most be surprised to see cut? Most surprised to see make the team?

Ohm
  (3:11 PM)

Jeremy... well, that is a hard question... This is just me purely speculating and throwing a surprise name out there but if they were to do something like cut Chase Blackburn, that might be a little surprising. Or cut somebody like TT instead of IR him... But I don't see that happening. I guess if somebody like Jernigan got cut, that would be surprising too. But who knows. I got all those guys making the team. As for surprising to see somebody make it? I don't think there would be many surprises for me because whoever they keep will have earned it really.

Anthony (Bergen County, NJ)

What's up Ohm? Do you think Herzlich will take over the starting job at some point this season? Thanks!

Ohm
  (3:12 PM)

Anthony, it is possible. I am very curious to see what they do at linebacker with these cuts.

Jeff Butler (Norfolk, Virginia)

Do you think there will be any decent defensive backs cut this weekend that the GMEN could possibly pick up?

Ohm
  (3:12 PM)

Jeff, I am sure there could be. I don't even know who to begin to tell you though.

paul (los angelos)

any chance the giants part ways with austin??

Ohm
  (3:13 PM)

Paul, I'd be very surprised if they did. His health would have to be really bad. Even then, I think they would IR him. So yes, I'd be surprised about that one if they did that.

Curious (George)

David Douglas -- Does he make the team? Does he take Hixon's or JJ12's spot/s?

Ohm
  (3:14 PM)

George, I'd like to see him make it. He can catch and play special teams as well. Athletic guy. But I think Hixon is making the team and if Jernigan got cut, I'd be somewhat surprised being that he was their third-round pick.

Chris (Saratoga, NY)

Have you heard any rumblings about Deon Grant returning to the team with the secondary banged up?

Ohm
  (3:15 PM)

Chris, always a possibility but they need corner more than safety at the moment. They got Will Hill as third safety and Sash will be on suspended list for first four games. I'd love to see Deon back though.

Chris (NY)

Will Jernigan get another shot at returning punts tonight?

Ohm
  (3:15 PM)

Chris, I can definitely see that happening. But they did start Douglas there last game and could do that again tonight.

Sparty (East Lansing)

Pete (MI) sucks!

Ohm
  (3:15 PM)

No Pete today... at least not yet... LOL.

Craig G. (Fairfield, CA)

Hey Ohm! Any chance Ramses Barden will be a top 4 receiver on the Giant this season?

Ohm
  (3:16 PM)

Hey Craig... it's possible. I think Rueben will be one of the top four by the end of the season. So that would mean Barden would have to pass Hixon. Possible. Also got to see if Hixon stays healthy.

Matt (Hoboken)

Why isn't Deon Grant on this team? I like Will Hill's potentional, but Grant would make the D even more flexible this year. I'm not sold on Sash....to me, he looks like a career special teamer.

Ohm
  (3:17 PM)

Well, I think they want to see what they got first in Will Hill and Sash. They clearly think they have enough there at safety so far.

Nick (Middletown, NJ) [via mobile]

Will Joe Martinek catch on to another team? Go RU!

Ohm
  (3:17 PM)

Nick, I think Martinek has a chance to come back on the practice squad. But always possible he catches on with somebody else.

Chris (NY)

No chance Perriloux beats out Carr right?

Ohm
  (3:18 PM)

I won't say no chance but I got Carr making it.

albert (brooklyn )

hey Ohm What ever happened to the safety the giants drafted last year that got into the motorcycle accident?

Ohm
  (3:18 PM)

Chad Jones got into a car accident back in 2010. He was released during the offseason. Still rehabbing his way back.

Scott (NJ)

Ohm what is the plan for backup DE? Gut feeling does Tracy hold it down after 3 years in the system? Or does Ojomo or Broha beat him out?

Ohm
  (3:19 PM)

Scotty, gun to my head, I got Tracy making it. But Ojomo could have another big game tonight. Broha perhaps to practice squad. I got to check on Ajomo's practice squad eligibility. Love to see Giants keep both though. Just don't know if possible with all the injuries elsewhere.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

We're just playing the waiting game. So far so good here, but can't say the same for other areas. What round would you suggest selecting David Wilson?

Ohm
  (3:20 PM)

Becareful Rach! As for Wilson, I'd say try to take him when backup RBs start going, perhaps 9th, 10th round... but know that Bradshaw is the starter.

Jeff Butler (Norfolk, Virginia)

Have you heard anything about possibly upgrading on the offensive line? Will we see Diehl moving back to the left side?

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

Beatty just came back to practice this week. I think they want to see how he holds up first.

Kevin B (Long Island)

Hey Ohm!! How much of an impact do you think david wilson makes this season, even though he is 2nd string to Bradshaw?

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

Kevin, I think he can be the backup change of pace guy and eventually become the third-down back if he can protect Eli. He can definitely catch the ball. He should be the kickoff returner as well.

John (NY)

If Hixon isn't cutting it as a WR why not try him out again as a return man?

Ohm
  (3:22 PM)

I wouldn't want to risk him getting hurt especially with how Hosley can do there at returner.

Jeff Butler (Norfolk, Virginia)

What do you think of Eli being rated a 97 on Madden?

Ohm
  (3:22 PM)

For real? What's Rodgers, Brees and Brady?

John (NY)

Is Tuck going to play tonight?

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

If he does, I only envision limited snaps. Don't expects starters to play much if they do.

nate (va)

is keith rivers going to start with boley and kiwi or is there someone else?

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

Rivers will start with Kiwi and Blackburn until Boley returns.

Matt (Short Hills)

Do you think the upgrades in the Cowboys secondary neutralizes the significant advantage the Giants WRs enjoyed last year?

Ohm
  (3:24 PM)

I think it may close the gap a bit at very least. I mean, that was a big gap last couple of years really. But still see that as a Giants advantage until proven otherwise.

Chris (NY)

Is Blackburn likely to make the team? Haven't heard much about him lately?

Ohm
  (3:24 PM)

He's been the starting MLB. I mean, I guess there is always a chance he could be a surprise cut if they decide to keep younger LBs like Jones. But up until now, he's been the starting MLB.

Jeff Butler (Norfolk, Virginia)

With the 32nd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select...?

Ohm
  (3:25 PM)

LOL!

Joe (NY)

Your thoughts on Brewer? Is he a viable option on the O-Line this year and down the road?

Ohm
  (3:25 PM)

Joe, really don't know because we haven't seen a whole lot of him. I guess until they put him into the fire, we won't know that answer for sure. Down the road, that is what they hope.

Ryan (NY)

Who has impressed you the most in the pre-season?

Ohm
  (3:26 PM)

Hmm... Probably Wilson and maybe a little Hosley.

Ohm
  (3:26 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for the questions! See you all next week and stay safe!
