Matthew Berry
  (1:33 PM)

Hey gang! Thanks for stopping by. Here's hoping you had Andre Brown and not Cam Newton last night... let's get to it. All subjects answered, as always

Mike (WA)

Your thoughts on Hillis - this wek & ROS -Thanks much!

Matthew Berry
  (1:34 PM)

Flex play both this week and ROS. Nice match-up with NO and JC will NOT be an every down back - even at 100% health. That said, I still believe in JC this year overall - he's by far their best player on offense - so if they are dong anything this year, it's with him. So barring injury, Hillis' upside is limited.

Don (TN)

Have your thoughts changed on Frank Gore?

Matthew Berry
  (1:36 PM)

Somewhat. HE's defintiely looked better than I thought he would. And the 49ers are legit across the board. No one is talking about Alex Smith but much better than he's given credit for. Improved passing game has helped Gore. That said, I still think they limit his touches down the stretch, he's still injury prone and Kendall Hunter is still pretty good. A solid #2 RB

Nate (NJ)

Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy Jewish new year! AP, Amendola, or Nate Wash in the flex?

Matthew Berry
  (1:38 PM)

Even with SF D, can't go against AP with those choices.

jimmy (columbus)

After last night, can we safely say the black unicorn is a top 10 TE ROS?

Matthew Berry
  (1:41 PM)

No doubt. We discussed on today's pod - I had him at #7 heading into last night... All legit. Here's the TE I would rank about BennettGraham, Gronk; Gates, V Davis, Hernandez when he comes back. Think Pitta and Gonzo are about equal. Would rather Bennett than Finley or Witten at this point.

Jake Browne (Denver)

Matthew, THANK YOU for your manifesto. I currently own Fred Jackson/C.J. Spiller, Ahmad Bradshaw/Andre Brown, and Steven Jackson/Daryl Richardson. Call me the king of handcuffs. Can you give me one sell high and one keeper from the list? Thanks again!

Matthew Berry
  (1:43 PM)

Glad it worked out. Bradshaw/Brown is the sell high, because I think even when Bradshaw comes back, that's not his job 100% - could see a split like AB/Jacobs back in the day. If Jackson is healthy, he's the guy. Richardson is a backup. And you have to hang onto Spiller/ F Jax. Spiller could run away with this job and be a top 5 guy ROS

Matthew Berry
  (1:43 PM)

Not 100% convinced, if BUF wins it's next 2 games - that F Jax gets his gig back. Spiller has looked AWESOME

Matt Madsen (Phoenix)

Is Aaron Rodgers coming back?

Matthew Berry
  (1:46 PM)

Just stop.

kevin (boston)

So thoughts on Ramses Barden ROS? Had a nice game last night

Matthew Berry
  (1:47 PM)

He did. Value if Curz or Nicks misses time. That's it. Bennett 3rd option - Barden won't be on field enough when Nicks/Cruz healthy

Ron (CO)

Is it time to cut ties with David Wilson? Love his potential but just don't see him getting on the field

Matthew Berry
  (1:48 PM)

In ten tm standard leagues? Welcome to dumpsville

Dom (NJ)

Do i start Leshoure over Beanie Wells?

Matthew Berry
  (1:49 PM)

Weekly reminder I don't take questions that can be answered by looking at my ranks. http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/story?page=12ranksWeek3QB

Bill Goldberg (Atlanta)

Are we going to find out what was supposed to be the problem with Greg Olsen?

Matthew Berry
  (1:49 PM)

Clearly I was wrong. I'll address when appropriate but I'm clearly wrong...

Randy Moss (S.F)

You know I'm getting in the end zone at least once this week - right?

Matthew Berry
  (1:49 PM)

Said as much in Love / Hate. Think there's a fairly good chance, yes

Charles (Holinka)

How much will my patient value grab of Ryan Mathews for $16 in a stand ESPN auction league pay off this week and should I start engraving my name into the championship trophy?

Matthew Berry
  (1:52 PM)

Remains to be seen and I would hold off on engraving. Depends on the rest of your team. I will say that he SHOULD be productive while healthy. That's always an issue as is the SD O line. It's bad. That said... I have him as a #2 RB this week and am looking forward to seeing him play

Ferdinand (Scotland)

Welker Watch 2012! If Welker is traded is he still fantasy relevant or was he just a product of Brady and the Pats System? Should I be dealing him or trading for him?

Matthew Berry
  (1:55 PM)

I think Welker is more a product of NE system/Brady than anything. If he left NE, even with less competition around him, his value would go lower. I'd still be surprised if they dealt him tho. He's an important cog and they still have SB aspirations

Julie (Santa Fe)

Drop Goodson or David Wilson for Blackmon?

Matthew Berry
  (1:55 PM)

Wilson in a heartbeat

Ben (Philly)

Im a fan, this is not a slight. Why would BUF winning get Jax his job back? Are you saying if they keep losing they should play Spiller out for long term benefits/no reason to rush Jax? But - if they keep winning, it will probably be bc of Spiller, so theyll need him to keep winning. Your logic doesnt make sense.

Matthew Berry
  (1:57 PM)

Is that not what I wrote? Maybe I mistyper. If they keep winning, yes, I think there is a chance Spiller keeps his job. He's looked terrific and why rock the boat if you are winning. Spiller is their future regardless...

Sean (MPLS)

Amendola or Lloyd in ppr this week. Right now the worry of Lloyd "Gatesing" me on SNF has me leaning Danny.

Matthew Berry
  (1:58 PM)

Fair. I started Bennett in a league last night because I was worried about Gates in one league. So yeah, I epxect Lloyd to play but better safe than sorry, always, especially when talent level is relatively close. Lloyd has much more upsidd than Amendila but Amendola is a good bet for 6-8 points in non PPR

Wacko for (Flacco)

Have you thrown in the towel on Torrey Smith or do you think he picks up more targets and becomes more viable

Matthew Berry
  (2:00 PM)

Haven't thrown in towel yet. Have been surprised by amount Pitta has been targeted. Didn't think that was coming in this much. But yes, Smith is a big weapon. Have to believe they figure out ways to get him more involved

Matt (ATX)

Going by your (collective) rankings, Sidney Rice vs. Dexter McCluster is a toss-up this week. Who gets the edge in .5 PPR? Bonus WR question - is Titus Young droppable if his stats don't pick up this week?

Matthew Berry
  (2:05 PM)

Yes, Yoing droppable in 10 tm non keeper. I like Dexter - better matchup, less injury risk

Rob (State College)

Loved your Love/Hate story. Loved Brown's performance last night, which allowed me to start the week 27 points up on "That Guy." Question: Given that you see Houston as very run heavy this week, does that make Tate a reasonably solid flex play? Thanks, and have fun with the family!

Matthew Berry
  (2:06 PM)

Thanks. Yes, Tate is a low end Flex play - still not a great matchup - have him at 31.

Sean (Chicago)

Someone offered me Andre for Demariyus. Why haven't i clicked accept yet?

Matthew Berry
  (2:07 PM)

Well, I get it. Both have injury issues, but DT has more upside based on his offense, QB... Had them very close in preseason ranks. I'd wait till after this week - my feeling is Andre's value will be even lower after this week.

Kevin Smith (Pineville)

Am I really taking a back seat to Leshoure this week and beyond?

Matthew Berry
  (2:08 PM)

This week? No. In future, possibly. Need to see him this week to get a better sense. Mort saying he expects LeShoure

Matty's Dating Advice (Corner)

How long until one views Mike Williams as being back and worthy of a start in a standard 10? And when that time comes what would you be looking to receive for him?

Matthew Berry
  (2:10 PM)

Need a few more weeks. Hard to get top 30 WR in standard...

kevin (boston)

Started Lafell last night, he seemed to get open but Cam looked awful...concerned?

Bane (Deep Dark Hole)

If you could get Ryan Mathews for CJ0K would you pull the trigger or are the about the same in the grand scheme of things. Answer or I banish you to prison forever

Matthew Berry
  (2:11 PM)

Feel MUCH better about Mathews than CJ. Would do that deal in a heartbeat

Dan (small town near Seattle)

You still like Cobb ROS? Would you drop him to add Nate Wash, Hartline or Little?

Matthew Berry
  (2:11 PM)

I do. And no, I would not drop him for any of those guys.

Kyle (Louisville)

Flex pick: TRich or Greg Jennings?

Matthew Berry
  (2:12 PM)

T Rich. Jennings banged up - may not play

Crazy Crazy (Orange, CA.)

Do you think S. Ridley could be top10 Rb ROS??

Matthew Berry
  (2:13 PM)

He has the talent... Still not 100% convinced they keep running as much as they have so far...

Riley (San Diego, CA)

Can Kenny Britt breakout this weekend against that horrible Lions secondary?

Matthew Berry
  (2:15 PM)

Potentially. I'm risk averse. I'd feel better about starting him AFTER we see it - he WILL break out at some point.

Jesse (Charlotte)

Any chance, Brown steals the starting job from Bradshaw permanently?

Matthew Berry
  (2:18 PM)

There is certainly a chance. Coughlin is not afraid to make a change, Brown looked great last night and remember, AB lost his job before to Jacobs for a bit a little while ago. I don't think that happens, but it's definitely in the conversation

Island Boy (Puget Sound)

Come on TMR! Answer a M. Bush question! He's ranked significantly higher than Sproles this week. In a .5 PPR league play Bush or stick with Sproles. Rice is the other RB.

Matthew Berry
  (2:18 PM)

Would still stick with Bush assuming Forte is out

Tony (Southern California)

If Stephen Jackson doesn't play on Sunday, where does Daryl Richardson move in the rankings?

Matthew Berry
  (2:19 PM)

I would put him at 21, exactly where I have S Jax now. He'd be a high end flex for me vs CHI

Jeff (Prague)

Is Austin Collie worth a pick up for either Blackmon or jerome Simpslon PPR ROS

Matthew Berry
  (2:20 PM)

I'd stay put until we see Collie on the field and how they use him.

Jack (HTown)

Thoughts on McFadden moving forward. Was it the eye injury, the new line scheme, or both for the bad game last week?

Matthew Berry
  (2:21 PM)

It's a good run defense in MIA and the blocking. Not worried yet about DMC

Andrew (Chicago)

WHOA CRAZY CRAZY! Just saw that you had Malcolm Floyd as your 18th receiver this week. What do you know that I don't?

Matthew Berry
  (2:22 PM)

They are going to throw. Floyd is sneaky underrated.

Matt (Rochester)

Matthew, I wanna ask out a girl in the office but don't want to do it because talk is cheap here. To date or not to date a girl in the office???

Matthew Berry
  (2:24 PM)

Date at work? You bet. But, um... "have fun" at work? No. In other words, if you have real feelings for her, go for it. But if you're not serious about it, go elsewhere for someone to just hang out with

Studebaker (NJ)

Who would you rather have ROS - Vick or Newton?

Matthew Berry
  (2:24 PM)

Still Newton. He doesn't have the injury risk that Vick does

Matthew Berry
  (2:25 PM)

McFadden. Not a great matchup but just guaranteed number of touches

Fred (Iowa)

Robert Meachem--what's up?

Matthew Berry
  (2:25 PM)

He's not very good.

Travis (06010 Land)

Britt or Boldin ROS?

Matthew Berry
  (2:26 PM)

Britt. Prefer his upside. Boldin is just a guy at this point

Aspiring Screenwrtier (Chicago)

How do you go about getting an agent? You send a script to a studio and they tell you they only read scripts sent by an agent. You send a script to an agent and they tell you they only read scripts by established screenwriters. Such a catch-22.

Matthew Berry
  (2:29 PM)

Yes, it's never easy. Best way - try to find someone you know - agent's ASSISTANT's are the key there. Frankly, anyone who is an assistant in showbiz is who you are looking for. If the script is any good, they'll pass it on. Trust me - they all want to discover the next big thing.

Tom (Ft Lauderdale)

Obviously the potential is always there with CJ (I refuse to give up yet), but as you pointed out in Love/Hate his sieve-like O-line is failing him. Are Peyton Hillis or Shonn Greene the better flex play?

Matthew Berry
  (2:30 PM)

At this point, I'd still roll with CJ and hope but the fact we're even having this discussion tells you how bad it's gotten...

Rob (Illinois)

Kevin from boston asked a question that u post here but didn't answer...Started Lafell last night, he seemed to get open but Cam looked awful...concerned?

Matthew Berry
  (2:31 PM)

Oh, sorry about that. I'm a little concerned, yeah. But ultimately, I think he'll be okay. The fact that he had his best game this year with Stewart in there is not lost on me. That definitely didn't help and the Giants played very well. Patience with Cam at the moment.

Matthew Berry
  (2:32 PM)

Ok gang, that's all we have time for. Thank for all the questions - sorry we didn't get to more of them. Be sure to check out Fantasy Football Now on Sunday at 11:00am Sunday morn on ESPN2. Thanks
