Good morning gang! It's time for another 60 minutes of fantasy chattage. Second cup of coffee in hand...call it in the air!
With Mendenhall coming back, who has more value moving forward, Dwyer or Redman?
I believe that Redman will get first dibs on the backup job, but my expectation is that he'll fail miserably in the task. So Redman in the short-term. Dwyer by season's end.
More value going forward this year, Doug Martin or Alfred Morris
Morris. Tampa is going to struggle far more than Washington.
Hartline or B. Bolden # 1 wavier wire pickup?
Need factors in... but Hartline is a solid supplementary WR option on a regular basis. Bolden will have good weeks and invisible ones.
SO is Chris Johnson "back"? A one-week fluke? Do I play him or Alfred Morris?
I think CJ is closer to back than "fluke" but against Minnesota, I sit him.
More value the rest of the season. Benson or Leshoure?
Benson for me. Don't love either guy, but at least Benson in consistent in doing what GB asks of him.
AJ, should I hold tight with the NYJ def or pick up one of GB, Min, Cin, or StL, all available.
Not willing to write off NYJ defense just yet. I mean, last week's disaster was really more the offense's fault. I do like the Rams as a sleeper D, though.
Will Forte be back this week with more carries or will they use him sparingly again?
Short week... probably won't practice much, if at all. I'd assume another cautious usage week.
Will Jeremy Kerley step up with Santonio Holmes hurting?
Not with Chaz Schilens as the next-best option.
Is Jackie Battle worth giving up the #1 waiver spot or was this just a revenge game for him?
Battle's day was just one of those things... got the touches, made the scores. I doubt it repeats and had little to do with revenge. It's not like he wouldn't have tried with a different opponent.
Better ROS option to stash if Nicks' injuries persist, Barden or Hixon?
Hixon. Much more reliable than Barden, IMO.
Will Jon Baldwin ever "break out" or can I drop him?
In a one-and-done, I wouldn't wait. Matt Cassel is not going to be a benefit to him.
Greg Jennings hammy is killing me. Drop time?
You don't drop Jennings because this isn't a skill thing...this is an injury thing. Presumably, it will heal. Obviously, if you have no bench spots and bye weeks force your hand, you do what you must, but as a blanket statement, I hang on here.
Is it crazy to sit MJD against Da Bears in favor of Turner and McGahee?
Not crazy at all. Gabbert will be running for his life and MJD can't do it alone.
That being said about Jennings, do you move him for 90 cents on the dollar? Less?
That's the thing with trading...what CAN you get for him? You don't determine the value of your players. Only potential trade partners do. Until you see what others are offering, and weigh it to your own needs you can't answer that question.
Outlook for Jonathan Stewart this week vs Seattle?
Minimal yardage. Seattle solid versus the run to begin with and now you have to slice it up three ways.
I think you can answer the jennings question. seems he was asking would you take 90 cdents on the dollar for jennings. do you trust jennings to get healthy? just your opinion. if you can get something of need and it isn't quite jennings typical value, do you jump?
Still dependent on your individual situation, no? If I am 4-0 and can wait on GJ, I don't take less value. If I am 0-4 and have bye week issues, maybe I just need bodies today.
Trust Fjax this week as a starter?
In the general scheme of things, yes. He's sore, but otherwise seems OK. I'd rank him as a low RB2.
Where does AP rank for you ROS? Is he now top 5 since he appears healthy?
When healthy, AP is the best player in fantasy football. Period.
Time to drop Kenny Britt?
Why? He sat out last week with an injury and should be back this week. You shouldn't let frustration take over.
How real am I? top 40 WR ROS or 4 week fluke?
I'd say Top 40 is pushing it on a week in/week out basis.
Is Reggie Wayne a Safer Flex than Fred Jackson this week?
I think generally speaking, when it comes to "safe" you go with the RB because touches are more guaranteed than targets. However, I am expecting Wayne to get more points, so he's my choice to start.
Can I be an impact rookie like Green or Jones last year? Does Britt healthy hurt me much?
I think there's work to be done here. Britt being there helps Wright. I don't think he can do it with just him and Nate. All three in there, and suddenly he'll find a bit more room... but he's not at the Julio or AJ level.
Time to drop Ingram?
Barring injury, it's never a drop/don't drop call... it's about who you are getting to replace him and what the rest of your RB's look like.
Its a Trade! what do you think of giving up Jimmy Graham and FJax for Reggie Bush? I have Pitta and hate my rbs (Fjax, Mathews and Law Firm)
You may hate your RBs, but why on earth are you overpaying? Graham is, at worst, the No. 2 TE. That alone should be worth Bush.
would you deal Schaub and Rudolph for Romo and Witten?
Not a chance. Double-dip aside, I don't think you're getting better end of deal.
How do you value trading for TE's...I have depth at RB and WR, would you flip antonio brown (tied with djax as my third wr) or doug martin (my third rb) for Aaron Hernanez?
I think you look at the deal as a "how many points do I gain/lose at each position." It's a net sum game. If Hernandez, once healthy, gets you more points at TE than what you lose replacing the RB/WR, then you do the deal. If not, you don't.
how do you like J Simpson ROS?
Good start with Ponder. I think he went to him a lot, at Percy's expense, and that 3-5 catches or so going forward on a weekly basis will likely be the norm.
No body wants Vick from me via trade, even if I practically give him away, would you pick up Dalton or Flacco to replace Vick?
If Dalton and Flacco are on the wire, then that is why nobody will trade with you... they don't have to. Your league is too shallow to allow for deals. If I'm reading the Q wrong and you're saying Dalton and Flacco are "the best you can do" then I don't think you're giving Vick away...
Is Megatron too high a price to pay for RG3? Romo is killing me.
Again, who takes Megatron's place for you? Is it Jordy Nelson or is it Leonard Hankerson? That's what you need to answer your question...
With all due respect to Mr. Peterson, I am the best player in fantasy football. Period!
With all due respect to you, with the Tate factor always in the mix, and the fact your team could clinch by Week 12, I can't place you at the top of the pack for entire ROS.
How long do I keep the faith with Ryan Matthews? Is his penance over for "Fumblegate"? (Not the actual name but that one mistake got really blown up in the media this week.)
My guess is message sent, message received, moving forward. No reason for concern.
With Holmes and Jennings hurt and VJax on bye, I need help at wr. How do you rank Roberts, Hartline, Hankerson and K Wright?
This week: Hartline, Hank, Roberts, Wright
Ridley ROS? True RBBC now, or still a reliable RB2?
I don't think Bolden took anything from Ridley. Both produced in a ridiculous game from which I don't believe there's much takeaway other than Buffalo's D needs help. Belichick will be Belichick, but I still start Ridley with confidence.
ROS who would you want as your starter, Flacco, Cutler, or Rivers?
Rivers by a hair over Flacco... I like Joe more right now, but can see Baltimore stressing run more as season gets late.
Are Megatron and All Day equal in trade value?
In theory, perhaps... but again, it's not just comparing A to B. It's comparing (A-C) to (B-D) that answers that question.
Bradshaw or Ryan Williams a better option for this week and the season?
Bradshaw is answer to both.
Hunter, Turbin or D.Brown at flex this week?
If we can't ask sit/start questions or trade value questions, there isn't much left....
Not saying you can't ask them... but you need to give all the info for the answer to mean anything. Peterson for Brandon Weeden could be a good deal for you in the right circumstances.
Welker or Lloyd ROS?
Welker in PPR. Lloyd in standard.
So is it ok to give long questions with our entire team info?
Don't need the whole roster... but "trading away A (replacing with B) and getting C (replacing D)" is ideal.
Is Jonathan Stewart back?
On the field, yes. In fantasy lineups, not yet. Certainly not this week.
Pettigrew or Rudolph ROS?
Kyle. Pettigrew needs a new set of hands.
not to argue with you, but i'm actually really curious to see what circumstances you possibly think would prompt someone to trade adrian peterson for brandon weeden in 2012. OK... except for if QB points count in the negative, and league rules dictate you have to use a starting QB. anything else, though?
Obviously, I'm using hyperbole... but if you had AP, Rice and Gore and started just 2 RB, then losing AP costs you nothing. If you were starting Russell Wilson, that may be a step up.
ANSWER 1 TRADE QUESTION IN YOUR FORMAT!: I give away Morris (replace with Spiller in my flex) and I get back Percy Harvin (replacing my injured Greg Jennings). Do the deal?
DON'T YELL! Yes, yes I would make that deal, especially in PPR.
What do you think of me for ROS in PPR? Worth a waiver add?
I think so. Jennings presumably could be out for 2-3 weeks and even when he returns, Rodgers likely won't ignore him.
Hi. I have Tate or Spiller as my #2 RB. Hate to drop one but I need points. R. Williams is available. Shall I hold on or leaning towards dropping Tate. Thanks
In that case, I'd drop Tate. I don't see the every-week value from him at the present time.
Upgrade Spiller to Charles worth a downgrade of Harvin to Colston in a PPR?
Yes, I do.
Should I trade Peterson for Brandon Weeden?
And on that note, we're at the hour. Thanks for all the Q's. We're on Twitter for those we didn't get to... (@ajmass) Until the next time, the tribe has spoken.
