Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:05 PM)

y'all ready. time to blow & go!!!!!

Karl (San Diego)

Is it time for fans to finally face the facts that this just is not a very good football team? They can't run the ball, can't block, and they absolutely are not an opportunistic defense. You can't do those things, and you are average at best. Agree?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:16 PM)

Pretty much, bro. I thought this was an 8-8 team before the season, and they've done nothing to change my mind right now. That could all change with their performance, but the schedule is brutal over the next five weeks.

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:19 PM)

Sorry folks, I had a phone call from a key source I had to take. Let's get back to rolling

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

Did you Expect that The Texas Rangers would end up as a Wild Card in 2012?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:21 PM)

Heck no. I thought they'd win the AL West like everyone else. They played poorly down the stretch, primarily because they're pitching disappeared. Their starters struggled and when they didn't the BP did. You can win without offense. You can't win without pitching. Period.

Shawn (NC)

What up JJT? Hope all is well. Q Do you agree with Joe Theismann's assessment of Romo? Joe feels that he is average at best. What are your thoughts?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:21 PM)

Nope. He sounded like a bitter old man still caught up in the Cowboys-Redskins' rivalry from 30 years ago

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:22 PM)

Is Romo perfect? of course not. Bit comments like that would carry so much more weight if they came after the Giants' game. Or if he said it in the offseason. You know, Romo had 31 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and 4,000 yards passing but I don't think he's any good because of A,B, & C.

Jody (Lexington, NC)

What areas do you see that the Cowboys need to emphasize after the bye week? I see a need to establish the run early and to get Austin involved in the offense sooner.

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:25 PM)

the reason they're not making a move at RG is because, for now, Derrick Dockery is not that much better than Mackenzie Bernadeau. The offensive line had virtually no time together in the offseason and its the one position on the team that really need true continuity to work as one. They don't want to make another change, right now, and have to go through the process of establishing new continuity for a guy who's not that much better than the one they have, especially because opposing teams are using a lot of stunts and movement which requires teamwork to block

Stephen (Atl GA)

Whats up JJT , Will the Cowboys be completely healthy coming into the ravens game?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:27 PM)

They should have Ratliff nack and Sensabaugh should be better and Kenyon Coleman should return. About as healthy as they're going to be

Mike (Dallas)

You dont know how valuable a player is until he's not playing. so do you think spencer will be back beyond this year if he has a good season?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:27 PM)

yes. The Cowboys like him, and they want to pay him like a really good player - not a star. he wants star money

Malcolm (Houston)

If the rangers dont win the wild card, Will this go down in his history as one of the biggest collapse?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:28 PM)

it already is, blowing a 13-game lead in the last 3 months. But the game is about pitching. You don't pitch, you don't win

MARK (TEXAS)

Do you think ron washington is on the hot seat after losing the division?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:31 PM)

I'm sure fans will put him there. But JD & Nolan are smart guys. They no the No.5 spot in the rotation went 0-10 down the stretch and they know Dempster stunk against good times and Holland has been erratic

Darrin S (felton PA)

Do you think the cowboys will win a superbowl with the type of organizational structure they have internally

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:31 PM)

i think Jason Garrett is one of the few dudes who can overcome it, but it won't be easy

JUNIOR (JERSEY)

Will the cowboys continue to use corners at safety or will they bring someone that fill the void?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:36 PM)

They'll probably roll the same way they've been rolling with Jenkins at safety in the dime. The key is to get your best players on the field. No safety that's worth anything is available right now

dame (Miami)

Why is there always miscommunication with the cowboys offense? is that bad coaching or bad players?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:37 PM)

in all seriousness, don't you have miscommunications at work. I do. It happens. It happens on defense with a blown coverage. The game is about capitalizing on mistakes

jon (South carolina)

Who will the cowboys bring in or active now that lewis was cut?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:37 PM)

eric frampton to be special teams force

Marvin (arlington)

Will the Ranger win the wildcard??????? in your opinion

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:37 PM)

yea. I believe in Yu

Pete (da crib)

How can the cowboys get this running game going consistently?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:38 PM)

The OL must play better. Murray has 41 carries for 104 yards in the last 3 games. He's a lot better than that

Tony (Richmond, CA)

Are you concerned about how yesterday's blunder could impact Josh Hamilton given his fragility in the past if the Rangers lose Friday night?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:39 PM)

Who cares? he's been a mental mess since the team went to LAA. He's in a funk and the rangers need him to get out of it

Mac (CT)

I would love for Romo to be successful with Dallas, and I understand interceptions happen, but the last two it almost seemed like he just threw it and didn't step into the throw or care where it went. Would they be wise to target a young guy in the draft and let Romo play out his contract with the option of the franchise tag?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:40 PM)

The last two picks, he was trying to force the issue and make a play. We see it all the time from dudes at the end of games. The game was over by then. The pick to Lance Briggs was egregious

Bryan (Frisco)

How do you see the Mavs doing this year? I think they might be the most underated team in the NBA if Mayo and Collison can flourish and their good frountcourt stays healthy while having a very deep becnh I see them competing with anybody

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:40 PM)

i'm not a believer. I need evidence. 45 win 7th or 8th seed. No surprise if they miss the postseason

Kyle (NJ)

Why won't the Cowboys sign Montrae Holland for the RG spot? There's no way Bernadeau/Dockery are better than him, especially after his strong workout during training camp.

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:41 PM)

scroll down. I gave a pretty lengthy answer to that very early in the chat. Thanks

Chuck (North carolina)

Great article on the Josh hamilton debacle earlier today. What changes do you see the Rangers making in the off season? Will Wash be back?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:42 PM)

Wash will return. Hamilton won't. I think Napoli will, but wouldn't be shocked if he didn't. They'll add a middle of the lineup guy through trade or FA to replace some of Josh's production

Beevomav (JJT Car)

Josh..Do the Rangers sign him and what would you do?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:42 PM)

nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Jeri (Temecula, CA)

Jean-Jacques, doesnt help for Qb and WR to spend time throwing routes and calling plays and running routes after routes after routes? Dez acts like Tony drew the play up in the dirt. To me if a guy does not run his routes @ a 98% effeciently, he should be sitting the bench.

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:44 PM)

they work on it all the time. The Bears CB deserves some credit because he baited Dez much more than most CBs. Then again, maybe romo shouldn't have even looked at Dez because he knows there's a chace Dez might mess this up

Zach Hinton (San Antonio )

Do you think we should make a trade for Justin Upton? He is a lot younger and he could be someone worth keeping long term

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:45 PM)

haven't done any real research on him, though I've heard his name pop up in rumors before

wes (PA)

Good afternoon JJT. Do you think that if the Dallas Cowboys don't make the playoffs that they need to make a coaching change. In which right now if they don't make the playoffs that this should be blame on Jerry Jones because since he decided to be the GM this team has not won a superbowl, he has hired to many coach's, and his team has been inconsistant. Until Jerry decides to look himself in the mirror and tells himself hey I need to get a GM. Which I know that he wont do it this team will have 8 wins or less and there will be no superbowl until he does. Look at the Steelers,Giants, and Patriots what do they have in common is they have won championships and that they all work together. Which right now Jerry seems to want to do everything

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:45 PM)

it's only been 4 games. Let's let the season play out

Ali (Sanger, Texas)

JJT: Do you agree that Montrae Holland could help the team now? I thought his agent's request for an incentive-based contract was fair but Jerry decided against it. He had excellent vibe with Murray last year.

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:46 PM)

I like Montrae quite a bit. He's one of my favorite people. Why is he at home and 320 offensive linemen are with teams. No one thinks he's worth the price he's asking. I'm just saying.

raul (rio grande city)

do you see frampton playing?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:46 PM)

special teams only

Ray (Southside)

I know if u knew the answer to this u would tell Rob Ryan, but why cant the defense create turnovers?? Its beent the same with Wade Phillips and now Rob Ryan...i just dont get it, we got playmakers on each level of hte defense, a HOF sack artist in Ware, a star in Lee, and a solid secondary..what gives??

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:49 PM)

QBs under durres make mistakes. More pressure leads to more picks. No pressure - even if your CBs are great might not equate to turnovers

Bobo (SA)

The Rangers are going to the playoffs... did they ever get to enjoy the champagne shower??

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:50 PM)

nope. They had a toast after clinching a spot but no dousing

Kyle (NJ)

Could you see the Cowboys cutting ties with Dez after this year and going after a FA WR like Mike Wallace?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:50 PM)

nope. Dez will play out his rookie deal

raul (rio grande city)

i read the article by Calvin Watkins that says Rob Ryan wanted JJ Watt... where would he have played here in Dallas? DE or OLB?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:50 PM)

DE

Jason (Dallas)

Hey JJT, Do you think Mackenzy Bernadeau is a bad guard, or is this as much a product of an OLine that has barely had time to Gel/play together and are adjusting to a new zone blocking scheme against everyones number one defense? Mack only has 2 sacks and one penalty (!). If I were opposing defenses I would focus on the guards and just like we are seeing, since the guard to center communication is still developing.

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:50 PM)

i have a lengthy answer to that at start of chat. Thanks

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:51 PM)

by my count, he leads the defense with 11 big plays and has four sacks and 3 FF. Sounds dominant

Chase (Dallas)

JJT - when did you decide to start answering questions with some substance? I remember on the old cowboysblog you would answer questions in a very sarcastic, arrogant manner. I like the new JJT!

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:51 PM)

i haven't changed. Perhaps YOUR perception has changed. either way, it's all good

Ali (Sanger, Texas)

JJT: How can you defend Garrett? He may be a good x's and o's coach but is not a good motivator and lacks fire, which is reflecting on the players. His in-game adjustments always have been terrible and is also becoming too predictable. Sort of like Wade Phillips was in 2010. I'd love you to be able to dispute those facts/perceptions.

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:52 PM)

Tom Landry. Tony Dungy. The world is full of coaches who don't smash TVs and throw stuff and win. We'll see if Garrett can get it done. But he's only had one full season. This one ain't over yet

Ted (Dallas)

The World Wide Leader is reporting as "Breaking News" that Bobby Valentine has been fired. Since we all saw this coming, is this really "Breaking News?"

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:53 PM)

yea cause it hadn't happened yet

Mike (San Diego)

JJT, a lot of tough games coming after the bye week...think they can win 1 of the 5 games? This could be a season ending run, in about 6 weeks. Thoughts?

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:53 PM)

2 would be good and 3 would be great

Jean-Jacques Taylor
  (1:54 PM)

I've gotta go prep for the radio show with Nate Newton from 2-3. Peace. I'll be back next Tuesday in my usual slot from 12-1. Peace
