Nice victory by the Bears against the Cowboys. Ball distributed everywhere and a nice 3-1 start for the beloved.
Should Forte sit this week? I feel like he isn't 100% and the Jags should be easily handled. Don't you think it would be wise for Lovie to sit Forte this week regardless if Forte thinks he is ready to go.
Yes. Jaguars are awful and I think the Bears' D can outscore the Jags. Get him healthy for the rest of the year.
Jurko, how good is Blaine Gabbert?
He's getting better. Still a year and a half away from really understanding the NFL game.
Do you believe trap games exist? If so, is this one of them with Dallas last week and Detroit next week?
Trap games do exist. But the Jaguars aren't going to trap anyone.
who do you think is the MVP on the defensive line at the quarter point of the season?
Henry Melton. He's finding ways to get the quarterback. It's hard to judge Julius Peppers because it looks like he's playing at 70% health. The plantar fascitis is really bothering him.
Why don't the Bears ever run a split bac formation? With Forte, Buch or Bell don't they believe a defense would have a hard time covering that formation espically with the wide receivers we have now.
Split back is really a signal of a west-coast offense. Think Rathman and Roger Craig. Holmgren used to run split backs. Now you see more of a strong I or weak I.
Who should the bears be worried about more, Lions or Vikings?
Packers. Always the Packers. Bearssssss!!!!
Has Devin lost his mojo on special team? Also seems as if he doesn't like contact as he tends to go out of bounds a lot on receptions.
Seems that way, doesn't it? That or kickers have become the best tacklers in the game.
Will kelvin Hayden get more time at nickel back. Seems like he was undisciplined n missed tackles during the game.
So did DJ Moore, but not enough to get Hayden more time.
Is it me or did Urlacher miss a lot of tackles n lacked the physical prowess we are use to seeing
I think he looks better now than he did two weeks ago. He'll look better in November than he will this month.
What can we expect from Carimi? I think he has performed ok, but honestly, I expected more of him.
I'd like to see him do better in run-blocking. His pass-blocking is fine, and that's where I thought he might struggle.
This will be my 1st Bears road game (been to countless home games). Any advice regarding Jacksonville? Things to do, places to go?
Stay out of the 9th ward, just north of downtown. Dangerous!! And try a place called The Wine Cellar -- great Caesar's Salad there!
I was one of the thousands of Bears fans the game this past weekend, great road crowd. Has Major Wright really gotten that much better or are these picks misleading?
The picks have been deflections but he's done something with them. He did have a nice break on the second interception.
I can see a lot of sacks and turnovers this game against the Jaguars and a blowout win for the Bears. Any reason to think otherwise?
No, you've hit this one on the head, my friend.
Hey Jurko, Harry here. Which Bears player should I dress up as for Halloween?
Robbie Gould. I would love to see Harry fit into a medium Robbie Gould jersey.
The Jags only have two sacks through 4 games. The Bears have given up 13 sacks. One of these has to give this week. Which is it?
The Bears giving up sacks because the Jaguars are no good.
Hey Jurko, has Cutler reached a point where no matter what he does, he is always going to be cast in a negative light by some people?
Yes. Because of his past demeanor and his ambivalence toward media responsibilities. Some of the media have brought this upon themselves though.
Sup Jurko? Do you think that the Dallas game provided that spark the offense needed to officially get going? I see a lot of confidence coming from them now. Also, thoughts on Webb's performance?
Yes, but each individual game has it's own dynamic. And you could see the Bears building more confidence as the game went on. They'll have to do this again against Jacksonville.
What's your prediction for the final score this sunday? (Bears vs Jags)
I got Bears 31, Jacksonville 13.
Who has been better for the Bears' D so far this season? A surprising secondary or an improved, versatile D-line?
The improved D-line has made the secondary much better.
Is Kellen Davis for real? We have seen flashes here and there, but I'm not sure if he is the player who made plays Monday, or the guy who looked lost and dropped a key pass. THANKS!
Whenever the ball hits his hands, his feet stop moving. I don't know what the problem is, it could be psycho-somatic. They are going to have to condition him to catch and run. It seems simple, but Davis makes it look difficult.
Do you think 7-1 by the time we get to Houston is realistic?
Bearsssss!!! Bearssss!! Realistic? It is almost a mathematical certainty.
Jurko, what are the chances tice stays next year. I would HATE to see jay have to learn another offense
Tice is going nowhere. He's the perfect type of coach for the meatheads of Chicago. And I'm a meathead so I can say that.
Is it me, or did Mike Tice have a better game plan Monday Night? Quicker routes and getting Webb some help.
More crossing routes and rubs. Marshall last touchdown was a perfect scenario where Kellen Davis picked off Marshall's defender.
Biggest off season acquisition in 2013 offensive tackle or linebacker
Just how good is the Bears offensive line...Can they handle the Giants or 49ers?
Not yet. They have to get better and they have a chance for that to happen the longer the season goes.
Other than your name and accent (you sound like Ellwood Blues)what's your connection to Chicago?
Grew up in Calumet City, Illinois, home of the Blues Brothers. Played at TF North and Eastern Illinois University. And I have a tattoo on my fingers of the name Jake, even though my name is John.
Am I done in Chicago? Do I even possess any trade value?
No trade value at all. And yes, you are done in Chicago.
Hey Jurk -- In your opinion how much harder is it to prepare for a game after a Monday nighter compared to a Sunday afternooner? In terms of recovery (physically and mentally), does the short week really screw players up?
I don't think mentally it's as much of a problem. Physically you have to go to your bag of tricks, which is pharmaceuticals, massage and chiropractic work to stay on top of it to compete the next week.
I know Forte is injured but what do you think the odds are of having either Forte or Bush get 100 yards rushing this week?
I'd say even money. They will run the ball -- Bears will make that commitment to run. They love to run and I love the Bears' running game. Bearsss!
Do you see Alshon Jeffrey's arrow pointed upward?
Yes. I think Alshon will learn from Brandon Marshall how to use his body to get position on his defenders, then make catches without having to be 10 yards past a defender.
Will the Bears pursue kellen Winslow
No. Kellen Winslow is done like a turkey.
What have you seen from Wootton this year? He's been on the field, and it seems like he's getting some pressure.
It's great to finally see him on the field because for so long he hasn't been out there at all. He's been productive when out there this year.
Hester's route on the td looked great, but would it have worked against a non-rookie cb?
Claiborne is pretty good, and I think you have to give Hester credit for the route he ran. You can't just dismiss that -- it doesn't work that way.
Do you see Johnny Knox coming back at all this year?
No. Johnny Knox' days as an NFL player are over unless someone wants to give him an Adam Greenberg-type catch and not tackle him.
Tougher game for the Bears, Houston or San Fran?
Both games have their unique challenges. Both teams would prefer to run the ball. But Houston has better wide receivers. While Frisco has a better tight end.
Jurko! How are you? You think they could ever throw Devin Hester in backfield as a scat back?
No. I think they tried it and Devin is not a durable RB-type. He's more of a dainty receiver that does not like contact.
Will the Bears D have more incentive to punish MJD because of his infamous NFC championship game tweet about Cutler?
He was very rude to Cutler that day. I hope the Bears D punishes him for his insolence from our beloved quarterback, the smiling Jay Cutler.
who do you think would be a better blocker: harry teinowitz or jmarcus webb
Teinowitz has got a lower center of gravity and would be better on the run block. But his lack of athleticism would make Webb a better pass blocker.
Have you seen any difference between Chilo Rachal and Chris Spencer?
Rachal doesn't give up as many lookout blocks. That means you miss your block and you're screaming "Lookout!" to your QB.
Thanks for the questions. Listen to Carmen, Jurko & Harry today at 2pm!
