Stephania will be along around 11:15 ET, as she is taping a fantasy segment at the moment. Apologies for any inconvenience. Thank you.
Happy Friday everyone - hope all are safe after the storm. Thoughts with those who are in recovery mode...And another week of football is upon us. Let's check in on the injuries.
Any word on how Jennings surgery went? Still worth holding onto as a potential playoff contributor?
Bill: Reportedly it went well. He even tweeted out a picture of himself in his hospital attire, saying so. I think he's worth holding on to if you have the spot, could be back by early December.
Congrats on your Giants, I guess (bitter phillies fan here)....Any word on Felix Jones? We knew about the knee, but now a shoulder injury too?
Mark: Thank you! So happy for them. Felix had a "neck" issue a couple weeks ago, sensing he's gotten banged up on a hit or two and this is how it's manifested itself. The team is not being shy about expressing concerns about his health but it also should not come as a surprise. Be interesting to see how much they play him vs Tanner this week.
any early info??
They're calling it a neck injury. He says he wanted to come back into the game but team held him out. Expected to undergo further evaluation back in KC. Chiefs not particularly sharing of info so prob won't hear until Weds practices.
Love your input and insight. Lots of my players have a Q designation, but I am only worreid about TRich and Owen Daniels. Any update?
Dan: Thank you - and thanks for coming to the chat. Richardson should be on track to play again this week after he showed he could gut through an entire game - and perform well - despite the rib injury. Although it's not fully "healed," he seems to be past the worst of the pain. Was always a pain vs performance issue.Daniels added Thursday to injury report b/c of hamstring and given his history of hamstring issues in the past, it is more of a concern. If he's out again today, then I'd be very concerned about his status.
Is Percy Harvin's injury anything to blink at? Should I be concerned if he doesn't practice today?
Ross: Doesn't sound like Vikings are too concerned. He played through it last week and as is fairly normal, was limited Weds. When he didn't show up Thursday initially raised conccern until Frazier said was for a family issue and he expected him to play (and maybe even be in practice Friday).
Got Andre Brown, with Bradshaw a limited participant today, is Brown going to get the start?
D. Wright: Don't expect so. Bradshaw is expected to start as usual. The limited practices tend to help him be able to play Sunday.
Any update on the status of Demarco Murray?
Jay: Never looked good for him to play this week but Ed Werder just reporting sources told him Murray would be out. Felix Jones expected to play but as we talked about earlier, banged up.
Congrats to your SF Giants. Any word on why Leshoure missed practice this week? I have Bell and may start him. Or is Redman good to go? I am desperate at RB
JT: Thank you! LeShoure missed for a personal day (birth of a child). Was back THursday. Expect he starts. And as far as Redman, the Steelers backfield is convoluted. You have 3 guys dealing with injuries, all of whom might be available to play. With the team not traveling until Sunday, unless the Steelers rule someone out early, we may not know who makes the trip. And if they all do, it's a late game and we may not find out until just prior to kickoff. ANd even THEN, they may rotate. As of this minute, it's messy.
Is there any lingers fears that Graham's ankle would prevent him from playing this week or beyond?
Paul: He's off the injury report, so that's a good sign. Doesn't necessarily mean he's out of the woods for re-injury. But it does mean that I wouldn't worry about the ankle as a reason to bench him.
are you worried about dez's hip?
Bill: Sure. In the sense that Dez always seems to be on the verge of one type of injury or another. Amazing talent and some impressive performances alternating with limited showings or time cut short because of injury. I don't think there's reason to believe he won't start, even though he hasn't practiced, but am I worried that it has the potential to become worse in-game if he lands hard on it like he did last week? Yes.
Have both Titus Young and Brian Hartline, both with Questionable tags. Any chance either of these two miss this Sunday? Thanks!
Dan: Don't think there's much chance of Young missing. He's been q because of the knee for some time now and has managed to play through it, actually better of late. Hartline was an addition because of a groin but there doesn't seem to be much fear in Miami that he won't go. What he does Friday will give better clues.
Will Ben Tate or Donald Brown play this week, if both play who would be the better roll of the dice?
Kyler: Doubt Ben Tate plays. The hamstring is a big problem for him. Brown is more curious because he came out of last week's game with no reported setback and was not on Wednesday's injury report. Then Thursday he was absent. No word yet as to whether that was planned and proactive or reactive to a setback.
Do you think it'll be safe to roll with Jordy Nelson this week if he's active? What's the latest on his hamstring?
Martin: This is a big roll of the dice and probably depends on what your exact matchup and roster situation is. Nelson is to test his hamstring today. Since he hasn't practiced all week, until he does that we have nothing to go on...other than McCarthy saying that Nelson was "close" to going last week. Even if active, you have no way of testing a hamstring in any practice as you would in a game situation, so he could go in and be fine or he could go in and have even a minor setback and they pull him.
Darren Sproles injury - are you concerned?
Alex: Not yet. Yesterday when it was first reported as a hamstring, I was. Later it was corrected to be "hand." No specifics out of Nola yet but yesterday was first report with game not until Monday night. Still plenty of time and hope to learn more by end of today.
Will Calvin Johnson play this week? Will he ever get better this season if he doesnt sit out?
Mark: Dave Birkett of Detroit Free Press just said he expects him to still play, despite missing practice again today (and he is dialed in). Johnson's knee is clearly affecting him but not enough apparently to the point where they think he should absolutely sit. Unless we get a surprise on Sunday. I think actually the option to not practice him at all this week is the team's first attempt to give him as much rest as possible prior to a Sunday and see if that changes things. And these guys often don't get fully better until season is over anyway. If they can still play, they will.
People who are writing about Aaron Rodgers, where are you getting this information?
is hakeem nicks really 100%? they have recently said that he is but he keeps putting up single digit fantasy numbers! irritating!!
Ryan: Put it this way. He's healthy enough to be off the injury report and practice every day. Definitely progress. But there is still working him into the rhythm of playing at top level. Interestingly, Cruz has a calf issue he's been dealing with this week. He practiced yesterday but if that ends up limiting him at all, could shift more work to Nicks.
Will Matt Bryant's back issue be a problem?
Jeff: At this point have not heard indication that it threatens his status but with them having a late game Sunday, will want to see him practice today and see how team lists him.
What's the latest on MJD? Kind of fuzzy info out there, expecting another 3 weeks off for him?
Aaron: I think the fuzzy info is legit...in the sense that it's hard to have anything definite only two weeks into a multi-week injury. The Jags have never issued a timetable and I understand why. They don't know for sure and if they start putting out approximate numbers and then they're wrong, they'll get hammered. I would plan on him being out at least another couple weeks, knowing it could be longer. When a guy is rehabbing an injury away from practice, we don't get much in the way of detail.
Cedric Benson worth roster stash in very deep league?
John: We actually ahve been given a little info on Benson to suggest he's starting to make some progress. Nothing flashy yet but some encouraging progress. Still at least a month away I believe but if you have room to stash, might as well.
Who will have a better game fred jackson or cj spiller. it seems like fred jackson gets the touches on the three yard line
It's about as much of a true timeshare as there is. THe problem this week for both of them is that they play Houston. TOugh run D so think both of them could struggle - and I don't have a clear favorite given the matchup.
Same question as john's but for beanie. Is he worth a stash?
Jeff: Not for me. Turf toe much harder to come back from (despite him saying he's healthy). Want to see him in practice first. And then, he does seem to repeatedly get injured. If it were me, he wouldn't be stashed on my bench.
Have to run! Good luck this weekend...
