The new X Games host Ramona Bruland will be here to chat in a few minutes!
Ramona is here!
What X Games sport do you want to try that you haven't had the chance to yet?
I would love to try the snow cross, that would be so cool to get on a snowmobile and do that course. And the rally cross and the enduro cross. I want to try every single one.
Best X Games event?
Halfpipe. Has to be.
Shaun White cuts off his hair.....bad move?
I think it's tidied him up a bit. He kinda looks Euro-sexy now. I like it.
And good on him for donating to Locks for Love.
Best skiing country in Europe??
France...that might sound corporate, but France.
What's your favorite part about living in Aspen?
The fact that I have four mountains to choose from and can ride every day of the season.
Which x location are you most excited about?
Brazil. I have never been to South America, so to see the falls and the Brazilian culture. Definitely Brazil.
Is there any skiing in Australia?
Yes! There is about a dozen ski areas, five major ones. I did seven seasons in Victoria. Love it.
Will you be doing both the summer and winter X Games?
Yes. All six.
How do you go from Australia and the outback to the States and winter sports?
I grew up skiing. I did my first season in Vail in 98-99. I did six and a half years in Telluride, once you're addicted, there's no turning back.
Ramona, congrats on the new gig! So happy you get to fulfill one of your lifelong dreams. Cheers from Telluride, Hart.
Hope to see you at X Games Aspen!
What draws you to winter sports?
Dude, have you ever ridden powder?
Did you do any work for the X Games prior to coming on as host?
Not for ESPN, but for other networks like PlumTV. I've interviewed athletes, outlined events. Since 2009.
What are you looking forward to most about hosting the X Games?
Wow...working with ESPN for starters. And then being able to travel the world and see action sports ingrained in so many different cultures.
What's your favorite place to ski?
Well, Aspen, because I live there. Telluride, because it's possibly the most beautiful place you'll ever see. And for powder, Japan.
What is your Favorite Winter Sport to watch?
It's got to be halfpipe. Big air..what these guys are throwing down each year is insance. Triple corked 1440s..hello?
best summer x game?
Mega ramp. That's way cool.
And last year in 2012, watching the step up. That was one of the best battles.
follow any other sports than action sports? Mainstream sports?
Broncos are my team. Avs...but they're not playing.
biggest perk to the new gig?
Getting to follow action sports to all of these new and amazing countries. Plus my mom can watch in Australia.
what doe syour family think?
Obviously they're stoked, now they get to come visit me on these cool new locations.
Plus this gig is huge. It doesn't get much bigger than this.
is this adream come true?
Absolutely a dream come true. I never thought I would be chatting on ESPN.com as the new host of X Games. It really is a dream come true.
I'm really stoked to be on board with the ESPN team and the new X Games, it's going to be huge. I hope you tune into every event in 2013.
