Fantasy NFL with KC Joyner

KC Joyner
  (3:00 PM)

Good afternoon! Let's talk some football!

Deon (Anaheim)

Why are you so eager to take down Manziel?

KC Joyner
  (3:01 PM)

There are two reasons I rail against Manziel. First is how many talented QBs have we seen get lauded as being great very early on and who then end up not reaching their full potential? Too many and I don't want to see Manziel be one of those.

KC Joyner
  (3:02 PM)

Second, a LOT of that offense's success needs to be credited to Sumlin, Kingsbury & the O line. That credit isn't being distributed and it is bothersome that it isn't.

KC, Do think Wallace can ever be a blue rated WR in Pitt? any possible destinations that could rank him in the blue?

KC Joyner
  (3:03 PM)

Under the current circumstances, there is little chance Wallace becomes a blue-rated WR in Pittsburgh. If he were to go to any team with a heavy emphasis on the vertical pass game, he could move up to a blue rating.

Miggy (Philly)

Afternoon KC! The Packers and Seahawks look like real live road dogs this weekend. What say your metrics?

KC Joyner
  (3:04 PM)

Not sure I like the Hawks chances, as Atlanta could make Wilson have to be a pass-first QB and it's not clear he's up to that task. Like the Packers chances since the SF offense has been struggling of late (see today's TFS ESPN Insider article for more details).

Pete (Troy, NY)

Hi KC, redrafting tonight, what 4 teams do you see moving toward theSB. I am thinking, Pats, Broncos, Falcons and GB.Thanks

KC Joyner
  (3:05 PM)

Those would be my top four teams except that Denver would be moved in front of NE.

Bill Elkins (st.pete fl)

WOULD ANDY REID TRADE 1ST PICK IN 2013 DRAFT FOR TAMPA BAYS JOSH FREEMAN

KC Joyner
  (3:06 PM)

Freeman can be a very good QB but he's not good enough to warrant that level of trade. Reid would have to get more out of TB to make that deal a sensible one for the Chiefs.

Bert (St. Paul, MN)

How did Rod Streater's season measure up? How do you like his future?

KC Joyner
  (3:07 PM)

It was really an up and down campaign. His future depends a lot on the Raiders QB but he's trending towards battling for a starting spot sooner rather than later.

lm (north of nine)

All of a sudden there is a platoon in the Ravens backfield! What do you expect from each RB this weekend?

KC Joyner
  (3:08 PM)

Bernard Pierce has actually been more productive than Rice in some ways for a few weeks now. Given Rice's wear and tear this year, Baltimore would do well to continue the platoon approach as long as their playoff run continues.

Z (DE)

DOES CAPS LOCK HELP GET ME NOTICED? Not buying the Seahawks?

KC Joyner
  (3:09 PM)

NOT USUALLY (just kidding). It's not that I'm not buying the Seahawks but rather that over the past couple of years Wilson has shown that he can win a certain type of game but not one where he has to be a pass-first QB. With the playoff teams left, the odds are he will have to do that sooner rather than later and I'm of the mindset he will come up short when that happens.

Corey (D.C.)

Im starting the Jared Cook to Chicago bandwagon. If this happened, would his fantasy stock go up or down in your opinion?

KC Joyner
  (3:10 PM)

Good bandwagon. Trouble is Chicago just doesn't go to their tight end much. Might want to make sure Cutler is on board with this, as he tends to play favorites.

Yogi (Alaska)

I dont think any team would give a 2nd rd pick for Freeman. Maybe a 3rd?

KC Joyner
  (3:10 PM)

Freeman's stock isn't exactly rising at the moment.

Pete (Troy, NY)

What are the chances that Gore has a huge game? It seems the Pack did a great job on AP.

KC Joyner
  (3:11 PM)

Gore has an 8.4 GBYPA this year, so when he does get good blocking, he's quite productive. Having said that, the SF blockers have fallen off quite a bit of late (their GBR over the last seven games was a mediocre 43.6 percent) and that bodes well for GB's run D to hold up.

Z (DE)

I would love it if the Jets gave their entire draft class for anyone that can play QB, including Freeman...

KC Joyner
  (3:13 PM)

Before they do that, they would need to know what number Freeman wants to wear so that Rex Ryan can get his tattoo updated.

Bill Elkins (st.pete fl)

following up my question your answering now could their be a player for freeman in top 10 picks because bucs might trade for qb like alex smith etc..

KC Joyner
  (3:15 PM)

Can't see TB getting a 1st round pick for Freeman. Signing Smith could be a plus for TB but Smith showed a LOT of limitations in the SF offense this year. He is at the point where it requires very creative playcalling to make him successful and I'm not sure that is the type of offensive game plan Schiano will want to go with.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What is your Favorite NFL Team?

KC Joyner
  (3:15 PM)

To borrow that phrase - c'mon man. To do the type of scouting I do requires one to check in their fandom at the tape room door.

KC Joyner
  (3:17 PM)

Well, hate to cut this really short but an issue just came up on the home front and I've got to run. Quick notes - the TFS material is always posted on Twitter @KCJoynerTFS. I will also be taking part in the in-game chats on ESPN.com during all of the playoff games, so stop by and say hello if you can. Thanks again for the questions and I hope to see you all here next week!
