Thanks for taking the time to submit your questions. Let's get started.

Seth (JBLM, WA)

Now that Oregon has made it official that Helfrich is the new head coach how many in-home visits will he get & will Frost as the oc get extra? How about the new D-line

Erik McKinney
  (3:03 PM)

To answer the second part first, there haven't been any recent updates with the defensive line position. As far as visits from Helfrich, according to ESPN DuckNation's Brandon Oliver, the slate is wiped clean now that Kelly is gone and the new head coach will be allowed to use all of his visit.

Trevor (portland)

Does Jalen Ramsey appear solid with his commitment?

Erik McKinney
  (3:06 PM)

Ramsey and his father have been pretty up front about the fact that it's tough to be 100% solid in a commitment when you aren't completely sure who you're committing to. It was good that USC had new DC Clancy Pendergast in place before the big recruiting weekend, but Ramsey doesn't seem completely sure that Marvin Sanders will remain as the defensive backs coach. At this point, the guess is that he'll remain committed, but Florida and Florida State are putting together a strong push.

Cam (Los Angeles)

Any truth to the rumors of Eddie V recommitting to SC? Does UCLA have a chance here?

Erik McKinney
  (3:09 PM)

Eddie Vanderdoes did not recommit to USC during his official visit. For a high-profile recruit, it's tough to handle this process any better with the media or coaches than Vanderdoes has. He will take official visit to Notre Dame and Alabama and will decide on signing day. At this point, UCLA is definitely in play. He has a great relationship with the coaches and the Bruins are building a very strong class.

beaverkman (Oregon)

What are the Beavers chances with Keishawn Bierria and LJ Moore?

Erik McKinney
  (3:11 PM)

Oregon State is doing well with both players, although Arizona State is in the mix for both as well, and Oklahoma could be a real option for Moore. I'd guess at this point that Oregon State winds up with one of them. The Beavers are doing a great job in Southern California this year.

Alex (Orange County)

What REALLY happened with USC and Redfield?

Erik McKinney
  (3:13 PM)

I don't think there was much action behind the scenes with this one. Redfield took an official visit to Notre Dame and fell in love with the school. He is a terrific player that any number of schools would like to add to their class, but as soon as he stepped on campus for that visit, he was headed to South Bend.

Jon (UCLA)

What are the chances that UCLA closes with Goodman, Willis, and either Fitts or Vanderdoes? I won't be greedy, I'd like all 4.

Erik McKinney
  (3:15 PM)

The chances they get all four are not good. That would basically be the perfect finish, which just doesn't happen very often in recruiting. However, the chances they get one or two are very good. Kylie Fitts will be an interesting one to watch as signing day approaches.

Chris (Calgary, AB)

USC seems to always pull a surprise recruit from out of state, will that happen this year? A Robinson, M Thomas or someone else coach O might be working on?Thanks for taking the time to do the chat

Erik McKinney
  (3:18 PM)

The USC staff has done it so often, you just can't bet against them. It's sounding more and more as though Robinson is set with his Texas commitment, but getting both linebacker out on a visit this past weekend (Powell and Thomas) was bit. I'd say those are the two names at the top of the list of possibilities, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see another name pop up in the next few weeks.

Chris (Columbus(OH))

How worried should the Ducks be about tOSU flipping Wilson?

Erik McKinney
  (3:23 PM)

I'd argue that one of the two or three scariest scenarios for recruiting fans is Urban Meyer making a late charge for one of your school's top verbal commits. He is just a tremendous closer. That being said, Oregon coaches are working hard to keep their recruits, and a group of seven will be in Southern California and Texas over the next two days. Wilson also seems very comfortable with how the Oregon staff shook out after Kelly left.

Daniel (Pasadena)

Whats the latest with Priest and Goodman? Where do they land?

Erik McKinney
  (3:27 PM)

Priest Willis took to twitter today to say that he would like to announce his decision tomorrow. Still waiting to see if that can get set up that quickly or if it will be pushed back a bit, but the timing is interesting. The thought for a long time has been that both are a package deal to UCLA, but at this point I wouldn't bet that way. LSU has worked really hard on Willis and the hometown Sun Devils are looking to keep the local talent in state.

James (Oceanside, CA)

Thoughts about SDSU's recruiting class for 2013? Will they get any last minute quality recruits since they are staying in the Mountain West?

Erik McKinney
  (3:31 PM)

It's so tough for San Diego State when you get a handful of phenomenal talent in your back yard and are forced to watch them head elsewhere (Cormier, Carrington and the Robinson twins). The Aztecs have done a good job out of state this year, especially going into Nevada. We didn't hear much from recruits about the conference change when they talked about SDSU, so I would imagine that it won't play a huge role now that they are staying put.

Mark (Inland empire )

Will any of USC's decommitments end up back with the Trojans on signing day?

Erik McKinney
  (3:35 PM)

Eddie Vanderdoes and Kylie Fitts definitely seem to be in the recruiting plans for USC, so the coaches will continue to push hard for them. Tough to read either of them right now, because they are both looking seriously at several schools.

David (Los Angeles)

Should we take Nico Falah's silence since his OV as a bad sign for SC? Also sounds like Isaac is visiting ND the weekend, chances he flips?

Erik McKinney
  (3:37 PM)

I wouldn't take Falah's silence as a bad sign for USC fans. At this point in the year, a lot of recruits just get tired of being asked to give a dozen updates after they take a trip or talk to a coach. My guess is Falah sticks with USC. Same goes for Isaac at this point.

ripstardust (Las Vegas)

Who are the best uncommitted o-linemen in the West, along with the odds-on favorite to land them?

Erik McKinney
  (3:41 PM)

In terms of completely uncommitted linemen, it starts with Brayden Kearsley, who will decide on Wednesday between BYU and Oregon State. You could probably include Cameron Hunt in that group as well though. He's committed to Cal but will look around until signing day. Oregon and Ohio State could be other possibilities for Hunt.

Boomer (Garden City)

Of the schools out West that performed poorly last year who is doing a good job this year in recruiting? Wazzu? Colorado? Hawaii? Idaho? UNLV?

Erik McKinney
  (3:44 PM)

Washington State is doing a very good job with this class. There is a very interesting mix of JC and high school talent and some three-star guys such as Paulo Lepua, Gerard Wicks and Jamal Morrow that could be big contributors.

Daniel (Pasadena)

How is UCLA doing with Vanderdoes and who do you seem him ultimately choosing?

Jason (Redlands )

What are the odds eddie vanderdoes ends up in a Trojan uniform

Erik McKinney
  (3:47 PM)

Lots of questions about Vanderdoes, the top uncommitted prospect in the West. It's impossible to predict at this point because he still has two visits remaining. There's a chance he takes those and they completely change his thought process. The only guarantee with Vanderdoes at this point is that he hasn't made a decision yet.

Jason (Seattle, WA)

What are your thoughts on UW's class and how do you see their class finishing up???

Erik McKinney
  (3:52 PM)

With Troy Williams on campus and wide receivers Damore'ea Stringfellow and Darrell Daniels firming up their commitments, UW already has a very solid class. Again, Washington went into California and grabbed some impressive targets, like John Ross and Jermaine Kelly. I don't believe they will flip Nico Falah away from USC, but that staff always finishes strong, so it won't be a surprise ir or when they do manage to grab a big name here at the end.

Jason (Seattle, WA)

Where do you feel Myles Jack will ultimately end up?? Does UW have a chance to flip him at the end??

Erik McKinney
  (3:56 PM)

It sounds as though the recent official visit to UCLA finalized things for Jack. There is always a chance for the home school to flip someone at the end, but Jack seems pretty set on the Bruins.

Erik McKinney
  (4:01 PM)

That's going to do it for today. Thanks to everyone who submitted questions for the chat. Should be a fun run toward signing day. Enjoy it.
