We've got Carlos!

Will (LA)

most fights happen on a Saturday night...does fighting on Friday change any of your preparation?

Carlos Molina
  (2:29 PM)

No. No it doesn't at all. You just adjust to it. The weigh-ins are Thursday and it gives you the whole weekend after the fight.

kevin (atl)

how excited are you to be fighting in Chicago?

Carlos Molina
  (2:29 PM)

Man, I'm really excited. I feel good. My weight is good. I haven't fought here in 4.5 years. It's for an IBF eliminator in my home town? It couldn't be better.

Greg (DC)

what's it like to have one of your fights on national TV?

Carlos Molina
  (2:30 PM)

It feels good. At first, it's nervewracking with the cameras and everything. But you have to tell yourself to worry about the opponent in the ring. It feels good. I've gotten used to it. It's my favorite time of the year when I'm fighting.

John (Wisc)

what are your strengths against Spinks?

Carlos Molina
  (2:31 PM)

I would have to say my defense and my constant pressure on him and working the body. Cutting the ring off.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

What is the Best Sports Facillity that you have Fought at?

Carlos Molina
  (2:32 PM)

I would say when I fought Chavez Jr. in Mexico. It was a huge, huge stadium. The biggest stadium I ever fought in. But maybe after this fight in Chicago, it will be the UIC.

jeff (ga)

any extra pressure in chicago?

Carlos Molina
  (2:33 PM)

Yeah, there is added pressure. You have a lot of friends and family coming. But pressure is good. I like pressure. It makes me that much better, training wise and fighting wise. I like it.

Kyle (DC)

what chicago food will you eat after?

Carlos Molina
  (2:34 PM)

Oooohh. That's a tough one. Anywhere you go, it's good. I will stick to my pre fight meal. It will be some pasta, spaghetti and meatballs. After the fight, it will be anything, tacos, anything else.

Mike (Dallas)

how much weight did you have to cut?

Carlos Molina
  (2:35 PM)

For this fight, it went real good. I was eating healthy. Right now I'm already at weight. I didn't have to dry out or go in the steam room. That's the best that I've ever had making weight.

Dave (Chicago)

My son and I are going to your fight tomorrow night. Do you feel that you have the advantage with the home crowd on your side?

Carlos Molina
  (2:35 PM)

Yeah, I don't know about an advantage. Just knowing that it's in my home town, it won't give me an advantage, but I trained harder. It helped me out.

Carlos Molina
  (2:36 PM)

I hope to see you there Dave!

Chris (IL)

what do you know about Spinks? have you studied tape?

Carlos Molina
  (2:37 PM)

Yes, we did. We studied tapes of him when he was in his prime and tapes of him in his last couple of fights. We've prepared for the best Cory to show up. We know he's a southpaw and likes to move to his right. He's good at punching and moving and getting angles.

Dave (Denver)

what's next?

Carlos Molina
  (2:38 PM)

First thing is to take care of Friday night. The winner of this goes on to fight in the IBF eliminator, the winner of the fight on Feb. 23.

Ryan (TX)

Thing you miss the most in training camp?

Carlos Molina
  (2:38 PM)

Buffalo wings...eating whatever you want.

Tommy (Boston)

what do you hate the most about camp?

Carlos Molina
  (2:39 PM)

It's hard to spend time with your family and friends when you're working out all of the time. All you're doing is working and resting.

Felix (CA)

do you think about the fights where you were robbed much?

Carlos Molina
  (2:40 PM)

No, not any more. I've moved forward from it. It's all forgotten to me. All I think about is the next fight coming up and winning.

Sam (CA)

Do you finally feel ready once you get hit the first time in the ring?

Carlos Molina
  (2:41 PM)

When you get hit for the first time, it's like you feel like it's on. You're in the middle of a war. You have to go and take this guy out, because he's trying to kill you.

Derrick (Chicago)

How will you celebrate your win?

Carlos Molina
  (2:42 PM)

Right after the fight, I will be at the Palmer House in the lobby, where I have some people I know. We will party over some pizzas and have a few drinks with family and friends.

Dave (Chicago)

Would you like to get a rematch with Kirkland down the road?

Carlos Molina
  (2:43 PM)

Oh yeah. We asked for it right away. We tried to get it right away. After the fight he said it was a possibility to do it. But after the fight they didn't get back to us. That's the last we heard, but yeah, definitely.

Roberto (Charlotte, NC)

What made you take 2 years off and then get back to boxing? Do you think it actually helped you boxing career to take a break?

Carlos Molina
  (2:44 PM)

It wasn't my idea to take the time off. I was in a contract with Don King and I wasn't fighting at the time. I don't know if it helped me. I kept training. I wanted to make sure when I got back to fighting I wasn't starting from scratch.

Carlos Molina
  (2:45 PM)

I hope everybody has a chance to tune into Friday Night Fights. I plan putting on the best performance I've had. Hopefully the fans will support me in getting a title shot after.
