Thanks for stopping by for the chat. Let's get started.
What is the Best & the Worst NFL Stadium(Building)that you have Been to?
Best places I've been to watch a game: Baltimore and Tennessee. Worst: Oakland.
Hi jamison,i know i'm just wishful thinking, but i sure would love to see d williams in a steeler jersey.he a far better rb than any rb they have on there roster, although i still like j dwyer
Judging the Steelers' cap room, I highly doubt they can sign any decent free-agent running back. They'll cost too much. Have to get a RB in the draft.
What is your take on the Flacco tag situation? Exclusive or non exclusive? Is this even a story or just espn creating a story?
I don't think the Ravens will take any chances with Flacco. If they put the tag on him, it would be the exclusive one. I still think they can get a long-term deal done by March 4.
If the Bengals add help on the offensive side and Dalton continues to struggle against .500 or better teams, do the Bengals think about going with someone else? Thanks.
Dalton has a lot to prove after looking bad in two playoff games. He'll be judged by what he does late in the season and in the postseason, if the Bengals can make it three straight trips.
The Browns have obvious holes at free safety, cornerback, outside linebacker, and offensive guard. Is there any priority in filling one or two of those needs in free agency before the draft takes place?
The good teams fill all of their needs the best they can in free agency so they don't reach for players in the draft. The Browns can get a quality corner and OLB in free agency.
What 3 specific free agents would you pursue if you were Banner and Lombardi?
Bowe, Spencer and Dawson. Not sure if they can realistically sign any of them. But that would be my wish list if I was with the Browns.
After listening to what Antonio Brown had to say on ESPN this morning along with recent comments about LaMarr Woodley and from Larry Foote I feel that Mike Tomlin is losing the Steelers' locker room. Your thoughts?
I will be addressing this on the blog Thursday. So stop by tomorrow.
In a perfect world, if you were going to draft a safety to replace Ed Reed, would you go for the kid out of Texas or Elam from Florida?
Elam covers a lot of ground like Reed, so he would be a good fit. I also like Elam's anticipation. The knock on him is size, but Reed isn't the biggest guy either.
Jamison, it seems that a solid approach to free agency starts with the following: 1)Never trade with Bill Belichick 2)Never sign a free agent from the Ravens defense 3)Never bring in some other team's former answer at QB (Drew Brees not withstanding). So why is it that the Browns seem to be linked to all of these things? Are they really going to hold the fact that Brandon Weeden was drafted by Mike Holmgren against him that much?
I get the sense that the Browns' new regime is against Weeden's age more than the player himself. As far as the scenarios, I don't see the Browns making the trade for Mallett. But I can see the Browns getting Kruger and Alex Smith. The trends say you shouldn't do this, but the Browns would base this on their evaluation of the players.
Do you see the Bengals actually spending money on their guys who are free agents and others outside the organization? Seems to me they are close to being a very good team and with a couple pieces here and there, they could make a deep playoff run.
They do have to spend 89 percent of their cap. But most of that money will probably go to retaining Andre Smith and Michael Johnson as well as extending Geno Atkins and A.J. Green. The Bengals need to spend some money to get a strong safety and outside linebacker.
Hey Jamison, I've seen a recent trend linking Mike Wallace to the Bengals on numerous sporting websites. I don't see him fitting well into the Bengals offensive system and locker room. He needs a QB with a big arm to throw over the top of safeties and his ego wont mesh well with what the Bengals have going. I feel like Dalton would benefit more from a possession receiver like Dwayne Bowe, Wes Welker or Brian Hartline who you can count on being where they should be. Your thoughts on this?
The Bengals didn't spend money on a receiver last year and that means they won't be doing it this year. They like the group they have with Green, Sanu, Jones and Hawkins.
What is the chance that the Steelers will draft a WR or RB in the first round??
The Steelers will go defense in the first round.
Do you see there being any movement in the RFA market?? Players like Pitta/Dickson, Art Jones, Steve McLendon and Emmanuel Sanders may get a lower tender from cash-strapped teams. Could you see the Browns (or any other team) making a play for them if they're given a 2nd round (or lower) tender??
I don't see any movement on the RFA market. It wouldn't surprise me if the Ravens reach a long-term deal with Pitta. Sanders' injury history will scare off teams.
Should the Browns consider drafting Ezekiel Ansah with the 6th pick?
Too raw to be taken that high, in my opinion. The Browns should hope for Jarvis Jones and Dee Milliner to fall to them.
Jamison, do you think the Ravens will be able to extend WRs Boldin and Jones in order to free up some much needed cap space? That seems much more favorable and likely than a release.
It's more likely that the Ravens ask Boldin to take a pay reduction.
Jamison, there has been a lot of speculation on the Browns possibly signing Mike Wallace since the team could use another playmaker and have the cap space to do so. However, the Bengals are also in need of another playmaker to mirror A.J. Green and they too have enough cap space to sign Wallace. Both franchises have shied away from spending big money on FA in the past. The Browns have said they want to make a splash this off-season yet the Bengals have made the playoffs two years in a row. Which team do you think would be better off signing Mike Wallace?
The good money is on Wallace going to the Dolphins.
Do you think Cincinatti would take a chance on Lattimore (RB South Carolina) in the 2nd round? Seems to me that if this kid can stay healthy he could be the long term answer at RB for a team that really needs an explosive playmaker at the position.
I would be in favor of anyone taking Lattimore in the mid-to-late second round. I know his injury history says he shouldn't be taken that high. But he has a lot of talent and could be great if he can get healthy.
Which AFCN team do you see having the biggest offseason?
New owner Jimmy Haslam and the new regime may make a statement in their first offseason with the Browns.
Dont feel there is there big drop off in talent from pics 6-15 this year, chances the Browns trade back? Maybe Tampa if Millner is still on the board?
If there is a big drop off in talent, why would anyone want to trade up?
Why ,as the Ravens, would you wait until the week of the combine to start negotiations with Joe Flacco's agent and not a few days after the SuperBowl?
Because deals don't get done in this league until closer to the deadline. It's just life in the NFL.
Colon. No question.
Have you actually watched Jarvis Jones play in games? Or are you basing you opinion on what others have said about him and his stats? Watch him play, he is not a first round talent. His stats are an illusion.
I have watched him play. Obviously, not all of his games. He can be an impact player in the league if he passes the medical tests.
So what do you think about the rumors of Matt Moore to the Browns?
He would be an upgrade at backup quarterback. But he wouldn't threaten Weeden's job. I've never been a big Matt Moore fan.
In the AFC North, it's the Bengals especially if they can keep Andre Smith.
How high do you think the Steelers will go to address RB in the draft?
Do you think Steeler Nation needs to suck it up for '13 (possibly '14 also) to pay for past deep playoff runs as we clean up our roster and cap issues? Or am I just over-reacting?
I said last year that there is always a price when you constantly restructure. No one believed me.
what do you think about Pollard's remarks about the NFL fading out in 30 years?
Don't believe him.
Could you see Bart Scott returning to the Ravens?
Ravens want to get younger on defense, not older.
With a HEALTHY Gilbert, Adams, Pouncey, Decastro & wildcard, how good can the Steelers OL be?
Depends on whether Gilbert can play left tackle and Pouncey can stay healthy.
Should Browns fans be as worried about Banner and Lombardi as the local media is warning us to be?
Not sounding the alarm just yet but I'm very skeptical.
Thanks for all of the great questions. I will be back here next week at the same time. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. Talk to you again soon.
