Ohm
  (3:00 PM)

Hey guys, what's up?

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

Will the Giants make some Trades before the 2013 Training Camp Opens?

Ohm
  (3:01 PM)

I don't know about trades. They don't make too many of them. They did a minor one last year for Keith Rivers before the draft. So you never know.

Pete (MI)

Sparty sucks.

Ohm
  (3:01 PM)

Can't wait for March.

Alex (Anaheim)

Will David Wilson be a productive full-time starter?

Ohm
  (3:01 PM)

We will find out Alex. But again, I still think he splits carries with Andre Brown and they lean on hot hand.

jim va.beach [via mobile]

Hey ohm. Do you see any of the released giants. Re signing at a more cap friendly price?

Ohm
  (3:02 PM)

Always possible Jim but I don't really see that happening. I think Boley, Canty and Bradshaw will land elsewhere, that's my guess.

LL (MI)

O-V-E-R-A-T-E-D !!!What a bunch of losers!!!!Still smiling Ohmie???Losers, can't stand the sight of them or those ugly colors!!!

Ohm
  (3:03 PM)

You don't like March much do you then?

d-Murph (Nj)

Wad up Ohmie da homie!? If Ogletree falls to the G-Men they DON'T take him, correct? Seems he has some definite character issues and the Giants tend to avoid idiots. What you say? Peace bro

Ohm
  (3:03 PM)

Hey D-Murph... it's possible but I still don't think the Giants will use a first-round pick on a linebacker. Thinking more defensive lineman but if he's clearly the best player available on the board, never know.

Will (Brooklyn, NY)

Hey Ohm. In this whole CRUZ/NICKS contract situation. I have not heard much of the theory of Nicks injury issues keeping his price down. In the end how do you think this will play out ?

Ohm
  (3:05 PM)

I think Nicks' injuries obviously will keep his price down compared to if he was coming off an incredible season and fully healthy. But Nicks could opt to play season out and try to maximize his worth. Or he could go for security and a slightly lower contract than what he may want for more years. We'll see. It really all depends on what Nicks' mentality is.

Rich (New Jersey)

Hi Ohm, Umenyiora maybe moving on but others such as Beatty, Blackburn, Cruz, Boothe, Bennett, Bear Pasco and others who do you see coming back & who'll be moving on?

Ohm
  (3:07 PM)

Always a possibility that Osi comes back but if he sticks to guns about wanting starting job and more money than Giants can give, then he has to move on. I think, my guess, Beatty, Boothe, Cruz all back. Pascoe is already back. Blackburn likely back as well. Bennett, have to wait and see how much money others are willing to pay him.

John (Cranbury, nj) [via mobile]

Ohm, i know it's been brought up before but isnt Tyran Mathiu a great fit for the G-men? He seems like a natural slot corner which is now basically a starting position AND a dynamic return man, hence sparring David Wilson from that role.

Ohm
  (3:08 PM)

Hey John. Let's see how he does here at the Combine. He may not run that fast a 40. I think NFL Network's Mike Mayock was not expecting a blazing 40 time from Honey Badger and said that he may be more of a football player than incredible athlete. He is an exciting returner. The coverage part remains to be seen. And then there is all the off the field stuff as well.

alexander (brooklyn,ny) [via mobile]

Do u think there's a possibility the giants go against their usual draft strategy and trade up for ezekiel ansah, seems like a perfect fit to develop under jpp and tuck?

Ohm
  (3:09 PM)

Hard seeing Giants trade up. My gut is they stay at 19 and see who's there.

Matt (Syracuse)

Do you think Eli will restructure his deal so the Giants can re-sign Victor Cruz?

Ohm
  (3:09 PM)

Always possible Matt. But I think the Giants will try to create cap space in other areas with other contracts.

Ryan Thayer (Oswego, NY)

What is the state of our linebacking core and is it a bigger concern than cornerback and offensive line?

Ohm
  (3:11 PM)

Right now, they got Jacquian, Herzlich, Paysinger, Kiwanuka and Muasau. Blackburn could be re-signed. Same as Rivers. They can use help at linebacker and upgrade. But they don't seem to prioritize linebacker as much as offensive line and rightfully so. I also think cornerback is a bigger concern.

Phil (NJ)

Hey Ohm, I several questions and concerns about my g-men. Do you think we'll make a move on charles woodson? or will reese address that position with 19th pick? who do you like from the draft the giants might draft? last but not least, I've read all the stories about Hakeem being a higher priority than Cruz in terms of offering a contract, do you think we can sign both in a 5yr/50million? that way they would share the wealth if you will, whats on your mind about this? how do you expect this to unfold? tender on Cruz? we can't afford to lose any one of them. thank you! your daa best at what you do!! Go Spartyy

Ohm
  (3:13 PM)

Hey Phil, probably no on Woodson. i would expect him to be probably more expensive than they would like. As for the draft, possible but I think probably defensive lineman or offensive line at 19 unless somebody drops. And as for Nicks and Cruz, I don't see both getting five years, $50 million. I think they tender Cruz and hold on to him that way and talk some more on extension. Meanwhile, I think they continue to try to extend Nicks before his contract is up. Thanks man! Appreciate it.

Bill Cowher (Outside Timex Performance Center)

One more year! I'm ready, baby!

Ohm
  (3:14 PM)

I think Coughlin has more than one more year left in him.

Chris (NY)

Dwight Freeney expressed interest in playing for the Giants? Would this be a good fit if the financial aspect could be worked out?

Ohm
  (3:14 PM)

I personally think he will cost the Giants more than they would like to pay but we'll see.

Ryan (NY)

If you were the GM, would you use the franchise tag and if so, on whom?

Ohm
  (3:15 PM)

I think if the Giants were to use it, it would likely be to extend time to negotiate a longer deal with Beatty like they did with Weatherford and Brandon Jacobs in past years. But I don't think they will use it.

Chris (NY)

With the signing of Buehler, is it likely that the Giants will let Tynes walk or is it mearly a precautionary move?

Ohm
  (3:15 PM)

Could be both. I think they are protecting themselves in the case that Tynes leaves for more money.

Anthony (New Jersey)

What are your predictions for how the O-line shakes out? Will Beatty and Boothe be re-signed? Diehl cut?

Ohm
  (3:16 PM)

My gut feeling is both are re-signed. We will have to see if that makes them cut Diehl for more money but I'm still of the opinion that they can use Diehl's versatility and experience for depth.

Brian (Charlotte)

OHM, good to hear from you man. I have to ask, do you think it is possible to see a Dwight Freeney in a Giants Jersey next year? Also, is there a possibility to make a move to bring back Martellus, I think he would be a reasonable resign.

Ohm
  (3:17 PM)

Always a possibility but I think Freeney might be too expensive. I think they will try to bring back Unicorn at right price.

Matt (NY)

Have the Giants expressed interest in potential free agents at RB such as DeAngelo Williams? The tandem of Brown and Wilson have me a bit worried given their inexperience.

Ohm
  (3:18 PM)

I don't think Giants would spend a ton on a vet running back. Also, I think they are ready to go forward with Wilson and Brown and bring in a veteran back like a Ryan Torain or Kregg Lumpkin behind them for depth.

Chris (NY)

Would Reese consider T'eo if he were available?

Ohm
  (3:18 PM)

Consider, yes. Drafting at 19, not sure. They will likely talk to him this week at Combine. I still would be surprised if Giants took a linebacker in first round.

Mike (NY)

Is Barden a free agent and if so, do you believe the Giants will attempt to re-sign him?

Ohm
  (3:19 PM)

He is a free agent. I think Giants would bring him back for cheap but Barden might move on.

Martin (NY)

I read that Mara does not anticipate using the franchise tag. Do you really think they'd let Beatty hit the open market if they can't agree beforehand? He seems pretty valuable to me.

Ohm
  (3:20 PM)

I think they need to clear more cap space to lock down Beatty. I hear you on the market thing. But I still think Beatty ends up in NY.

Rick (Albany)

Do you think that Dwight Freeney would be a good fit at the right price?

Ohm
  (3:20 PM)

I do think he would be a great fit at right price but the price I am thinking is probably a lot less than what he is looking for.

Chris (NY)

Gut feeling - Will TT make a significant contribution next year?

Ohm
  (3:21 PM)

I hope so but let's just be patient and let the dude try to get back on the field first. I think that anything he can do would be gravy considering this is his third time coming back.

Hoosier (NJ)

Mich State 0-2 vs IU this year

Ohm
  (3:22 PM)

I give Coach Crean much props. He took MSU's stars out of the game and knows how to play them. But let's just say this... in both games, MSU didn't play nearly its best and still took IU down to final minutes. I'm looking forward to the third and possible fourth encounters.

ian (NY)

Do you think it is possible for the Giants to get Te'o in the draft? Do you think it is reasonable to believe that next year eli will throw over 4500 yards? Playoff prediction?

Ohm
  (3:23 PM)

Possible but I'm not sure if it will happen with Manti. As for Eli... possible. And I do think they make the playoffs. But I have thought so for the past three seasons too.

Jerry (Charlotte)

Marcus Lattimore still available in the third round would the Giants pull the trigger, he is obviously a huge injury risk but he definitely fits with the strategy of looking at high character guys?

Ohm
  (3:24 PM)

I just don't think the Giants are going to use a 1 and a 3 on running backs in back to back drafts. Especially on one that had a serious knee injury. Now if Lattimore drops, maybe.

Martin (NYC)

What are you hearing about Kenny Phillips?

Ohm
  (3:25 PM)

I think he will enter free agency and shop around. My guess is he returns as a Giant only for a reasonable price for Giants which means a low contract. Otherwise I think he ends up somewhere else.

Peter King (Starbucks)

Any chance that Mara slaps a lid on MetLife before the Super Bowl next year?

Ohm
  (3:25 PM)

Haha. No. Get ready for Snow Bowl.

Mark (NY)

With Stevie Brown's excellent season last year, has he in effect priced himself out of the Giants range?

Ohm
  (3:26 PM)

No because he is a RFA.

Chino (Bronx)

Do you think JPP comes back refocused and puts up better numbers?

Ohm
  (3:26 PM)

I think he will.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Ohm! Who would you like to see the Giants use their first pick on? We survived another tornado that blew by my neighbors street. Scary! Brett Favres highschool and college both have some damage.

Ohm
  (3:27 PM)

Rachel! Good to hear from you and good to hear you are alright? The weather is terrifying isn't it? I hope everybody down there is OK. Like you guys. Everybody treated me well when I was down there for Favre. As for who the Giants take... I think I'd like to see them go defensive lineman.

Robert (South Windsor CT)

What have you heard regarding Eli and his performance this past season? I hear more often than not that it was the Nix injury, but the top level QB's can over come those issues. I love Eli, but it makes me worried to see some of his decision making this last year. What or who is he working with to fine tune decisions and technique? How is he using the off season to become the best ELi that he has been?

Ohm
  (3:28 PM)

I think he wasn't as sharp as season before, Nicks' injury was huge, no third threat at receiver on a consistent basis all played into it. Also defense did not help cause as well. I think he will continue to work with QB coach Sean Ryan and sure that he will get together with his receivers this offseason. Eli works on his game all the time.

phil (NJ)

what do you think the giants are going to do about their cornerback situation?

Ohm
  (3:29 PM)

No matter what happens with Corey, I think they need another veteran corner and more speed and depth there. They could draft one and sign a bunch of cheap veterans.

Jaime (North Carolina)

The Giants seem to have many holes going into the draft. They're approach has always been to take the best player available. So my question to you is, what should I get my wife for our Anniversary?

Ohm
  (3:33 PM)

BGA. Best gift available. Of course, within your salary cap means.

Chino (Bronx)

Who is a potential sleeper on the Giants Roster that you view will have a good season next year?

Ohm
  (3:33 PM)

Hmm... good question. Tough one. Let me get back to you in a few months after the first OTA. LOL.

Chino (Bronx)

Get her a bowling ball!

Ohm
  (3:34 PM)

That's over the salary cap.

MannyManz (DC)

Hey Bro,Do you think the Giants sign These Linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and/or Philip Wheeler? Also what's your thoughts on Glen Dorsey?

Ohm
  (3:34 PM)

I think if the Giants sign a free agent linebacker other than their own, it will very likely be on the cheap.

Jack (Pennsylvania)

have you heard anything about victor cruz's contract situation?

Ohm
  (3:35 PM)

Nothing new as of late. Let's see if we hear anything by end of week here at Combine.

phil (NJ)

what record do you see the giants finishing with next season? i personally think if they had won either against atlanta or baltimore, they could've made a serious run for the super bowl. they're talented enough so i see them having a turnaround year.

Ohm
  (3:35 PM)

Let me see the schedule when it comes out and then I will tell you my prediction. But I probably will give them 9-10 wins.

John (Cranbury, nj) [via mobile]

Just heard Jerry Rice say on SC that if the Giants loose Cruz and get a 1st in return, Welker would be a great fit for them. Shouldn't be overly expensive and fills a need. Thoughts?

Ohm
  (3:36 PM)

I still think Cruz ends up coming back under tender. We'll see. I don't think the Giants would spend a ton on a slot receiver. They probably would try to plug somebody new like Jernigan in there. Remember, Eli has had success with Steve Smith and Cruz in the slot. So perhaps he can do it again with another receiver would probably be their thinking if Cruz doesn't return.

Jerry (Charlotte)

Do you think the comments about extending Nicks was a leverage move to get things wrapped up with Cruz? Has there been any furhter talk of a Nicks extension?

Ohm
  (3:38 PM)

I think if they had to pay big money to one receiver it would be Nicks. I do believe they view Nicks as their No. 1 receiver. That's not to say they don't want to keep both but I don't think they will spend a ton to keep both. And they hold the cards with Cruz since they can tender him as RFA.

raj (Ny)

wadd up

Ohm
  (3:38 PM)

Wud up yo.

Jack (Pennsylvania)

do you think the giants would possibly trade up to get someone like teo or milliner

Ohm
  (3:39 PM)

Doubtful. The Alabama corner also is going to have some work done on his shoulder according to reports.

Ohm
  (3:39 PM)

Alright guys, thanks for the questions this week! See you all next week!
