Matt is here!
Do you read or listen to any of the draft talk?
I definitely stay away. You listen to criticism from reliable sources. At this point, people say whatever they want. I don't worry about what's said until it's finished next Thursday.
If you could throw passes to any receiver ever, who would you want to throw to and why?
Probably Jerry Rice. He's the greatest of all time.
How disappointed were you when the doctor told you your shoulder injury would prevent you from playing the rest of the season?
Definitely disappointed. But I knew I still had a lot of football ahead of me.
Matt, I like following your Twitter account...so I have to ask, do you have a flip phone or smart phone? I just had to check, since I saw Hasselbeck giving Luck a hard time.
I have an iPhone. I once had a flip phone and I'm thinking about going back, but for now I have an iPhone.
Draft day plans?
I'm spending the day with my family at home. Probably having a barbecue and enjoying my time with friends and family.
what's been the hardest part about preparing for the NFL draft?
I don't really find anything hard about preparing. You just always have to be on your toes for a visit or what a team will ask.
Do you just tell people around you to leave you alone prior to the draft and not tell you what they're reading?
Yeah, if I need to hear news or something significant, my agents will tell me what's happening on the inside. But you can't avoid what people are saying. You have to know how to handle it and not be aloof about everything.
What was it like being on Jon Gruden's camp?
Fantastic. I really learned a lot. I spent about 5 hours with him talking about football. Could have talked all day with him.
Will you be able to accept a snap from someone other than Khaled Holmes?
Yes. I've had many centers in my day. Although I'll miss Khaled, I'll embrace a new center.
How much did your shoulder injury limit your prep for the NFL draft?
I was limited in the beginning, but the timing worked out perfectly to where I was healthy for pro day. Nothing in my shoulder will effect me for the rest of my career.
How many team visits have you gone on?
I've had about half a dozen meetings with teams, but talked at one point with every single team, between Indianapolis, pro day, team workouts. Successful in all of them. You never know what will happen.
What do you think was the best benefit to you by playing in college at USC?
I think the system that I was able to learn and master has prepared me to handle an NFL system. And being in the LA media market got me used to being the face of an NFL franchise.
What's the favorite part about being a QB? The film work? Field drills?
I love throwing touchdowns and scoring. There is not much more exhilaration than throwing a TD in a big game.
Matt- Good luck next Thursday, I'm sure you'll do great no matter where you land. Now that you can't be punished for it..... what are your thoughts on the NCAA and their handling of the USC situation..... punishing you and your teammates for something you had nothing to do with?
We chose, as a team, to not even talk about it. I'm sure guys talked about it at times, but there was no point in dwelling on it. We chose to control what we could.
Are you really good at Ping Pong or is it CGI?
Nothing was edited in that video. That was the real deal.
Ping Pong Master.
What's the worst part about the draft preparation procesS?
Thank you to the Trojans faithful for supporting me all of these years and to my future fans in the NFL.
