Chat with Bill Williamson

Bill Williamson
  (2:01 PM)

Let's go. Because of the craziness. Can go do 30 minutes today.

Ryan McMaster (Sicklerville, NJ)

Bill, ive waited for this day since the Superbowl. At this point, is it more likely than not Oakland trades the number three pick to a team that desperately wants one of those franchise tackles? Much appreciated.

Bill Williamson
  (2:01 PM)

It's starting to look that way. I'd be surprised if Oakland can't get a deal done at this point. The Raiders are in a strong position.

Dustin (KC)

Could the Albert trade to Miami get done while Miami is on the clock tomorrow or will the physical make that impossible? The Chiefs could see who is available and maybe lower their asking price if there is someone they really like.

Bill Williamson
  (2:02 PM)

ALbert lives in Miami. They can get the physical done at any time. I think they need to do that now so they can work on the deal as long as it takens.

mike (san diego ca)

Good Morning Bill; Do you feel the Chargers would take a gamble in the 3rd or 4th round on Lattimore..I know every team has interest but with Mathews durability concerns I think He could be on Telesco s radar

Bill Williamson
  (2:03 PM)

I think every team in the league could do that with Lattimore.

Brenton (Philly)

B Dub, please tell me you were in contact with Reggie Mac after the first round blogger draft. What can we realistically expect in compensation for the 3rd pick?

Bill Williamson
  (2:04 PM)

Unless James Walker is calling the shots in Miami, I doubt it.

Chad (Rochester, New York)

Do you think if Oakland were to trade back they could still somehow get Dion Jordan?

Bill Williamson
  (2:04 PM)

I think he goes top five.

mike (temecula ca)

Bill; personally I feel it would be in the Chargers best interest to wait it out to see if either Cooper or Warmack falls to them, grab either then if they have to move up a bit in the second to grab Armstead..It would be foolish to give up what they would have to to move up that high to get one of those 3 tackles.. and everyone seems to feel theres such a high ceiling for Armstead to

Bill Williamson
  (2:05 PM)

Waiting it out is kind of what I'm thinking too. But the allure of a top LT is tempting. Not sure if Armstead wil be reayd this year, but he has ability.

AJ (Tampa)

If the Chargers do not move up in the draft and decide to drop, would it be possible that the rams trade up to get Tavon Austin. I know they really want him and if this happens do you think they would be willing to deal both the 16 and 22 pick for the 11 spot?

Bill Williamson
  (2:06 PM)

I think No. 11 could be a prime tradign ground for the Chargers if their top guys aren't there.

Mark (Toronto)

Can the Raiders and Browns pull off a deal? Cleveland doesn't have a 2nd. Would this and next year's 3rd be enough? I feel like they could get a better offer. Or is the idea to then flip the Browns pick again, say with the Jets?

Bill Williamson
  (2:06 PM)

They would have to get creative for sure.

JJ (Indy)

What % chance do you give to the Raiders trading out of the #3 pick? Great scenario for them.

Bill Williamson
  (2:07 PM)

I say its 80 percent yes, right now.

Gabe (Schenectady)

Since the Broncos have had a weakness covering big name tight ends, dont you think it would be wise for them to draft a MLB that can upgrade that coverage? Te'o is one that jumps to mind, and Ogletree has experience having been converted from safety.

Bill Williamson
  (2:07 PM)

Olgetree would be really intriguing if he lasts. Dounbt he has lasts. Chicago could take him at No. 20.

Chad (Rochester, New York)

Do you think if Oakland trades back it will still be able to get Shariff Flloyd or Dion Jordan?

Bill Williamson
  (2:09 PM)

Probbaly Floyd more than Jordan. I think if Oakland stays in top 9, they can still get Floyd. Titans at No. 10 like him.

Jackie (Raleigh, NC)

If one team in the AFC West shocks everyone in the draft, who do you think it would be?

Bill Williamson
  (2:10 PM)

I think KC and Oak will be big newsmakers. Now it's possible Chargers made big noise as well. Stay tuned.

Zuriel (Washington )

Hey, Bill. Any chance Denver takes two DEs in the first three rounds?

Bill Williamson
  (2:10 PM)

Sure, if that is the way the board falls. Dnever follows its board.

steve (SD)

What non-Offensive or Defensive Lineman can you see SD taking?

Bill Williamson
  (2:11 PM)

In first round?Oh maybe Austin if he fell and they went in a trade dow,. Mingo maybe.

Nick (Atlanta)

After Elway's announcement the McGahee is Denvers big back I began to worry that we were no longer interested in Eddie Lacy. Do you think with Lacy's draft stock dropping like it has that if he is still available late in the second round Denver would select him with their second round pick?

Bill Williamson
  (2:12 PM)

That would be hard to pass up, wouldn't it?

ramie (pueblo west,co)

which FSU DE do you like better for the Broncos Bjoern Werner or Tank Carridine?

Bill Williamson
  (2:13 PM)

Like them both. Maybe Werner because of health. But I can see Denver taking either.

Will Billiamson (Call me Willdo)

Sup Billdo?Do my Super Bowl bound Raiders take a QB?

Bill Williamson
  (2:14 PM)

Well, if they are already Super Bowl bound why do they need a QB?

Ryan McMaster (Sicklerville, NJ)

If you had to guess at a few prospects Oakland really likes other than DT Shariff Floyd, who if for some reason was not available due to trading down or such, who would they be?

Bill Williamson
  (2:14 PM)

Jordan. Ansah, Star, Milliner, Hayden. A bunch, really.

WyattBurp (Detroit)

Dion Jordan. He's the Sports Media's consensus best pass rusher in this draft. But he's only 250 soaking wet. Can he put his hand in the dirt and go fetch, or is he a project that needs to add twenty pounds

Bill Williamson
  (2:15 PM)

He has room to get bigger and he is super athletic.

Michael B (Olympia) [via mobile]

How comfortable is Denver with Moreno to keep him around or even draft a rb...as a fan I'm not confident in his ability to stay healthy

Bill Williamson
  (2:16 PM)

I think Denver really appreciates what Moreno gave it last year but he has some injury concerns. He's not a bell-cow back.

mike (temecula ca)

Bill; I have to say in all my years of watching the Draft, This has to be the craziest I have ever seen..No QBs worth picking and 6 potential O-Lineman in the top 10-12..I think its great to see O-Lineman finally get the recognition they deserve

Bill Williamson
  (2:16 PM)

A 49 year streak of a RB being taken in the first round is also in jeopardy.

Bill Williamson
  (2:16 PM)

A 49 year streak of a RB being taken in the first round is also in jeopardy.

Mario (San Diego)

Hi Bill, Do you think DJ Fluker is a "reach" at 11 for SD?

Bill Williamson
  (2:17 PM)

Depending on who is on the board. If Warmack is still there, then, yes, a reach.

Rick (Long Island, NY)

Hi Bill: So do you think Denver targets Dumervil's replacement, perhaps Werner? I think he'd be a steal at 28.

Bill Williamson
  (2:18 PM)

I think that's a real possibility, yes.

Ryan McMaster (Sicklerville, NJ)

Bill a lot of people might not be intigued by punters and such but after witnessing Shane Lechler i knew he was one of, if not, our most valuable assets. Upon finding his replacement, does Marquet King fit the bill or will we see Oakland draft a punter in the middle rounds?

Bill Williamson
  (2:19 PM)

Depending on how Oakland feels about King and depends if they can get more picks. if they get a bunch of picks, it might be worth the luxury.

Kyle (LOck Haven, PA)

Any chance that the Broncos could get Eddie Lacy in the first round? He seems like he'd fit perfectly with Denver's offense and would give them a few years of security in the backfield.

Bill Williamson
  (2:20 PM)

I think there could be a scenario where that happens.

Ryan McMaster (Sicklerville, NJ)

Of all 4 AFC West Teams, who in your opinion is primed to have the best draft over the next few days?

Bill Williamson
  (2:21 PM)

Yopu gotta think the teams with the higher picks, right> That's how the draft is designed.

Marlon (Los Angeles)

What kind of package are the chiefs looking to get out of the 1st pick?

Bill Williamson
  (2:22 PM)

I think they are just kind of looking to see what is out there. if they are blown away, they'll take it.

Matt (Omaha)

I would love to see the Raiders trade and then draft Star. Isn't that the best option for them?

Bill Williamson
  (2:22 PM)

One of them, yes.

Nate, San diego [via mobile]

Bill, huge chargers fan I honestly would like to see o-linemen from their first 2 picks today I dont however want them to trade up. Thoughts on taking one of the 2 top guards at 11 then a tackle in rd. 2 for the left side and really going after winston in FA for the right side?

Bill Williamson
  (2:23 PM)

Ye,s I cna see that happening. Real possibility.

JJ (Indy)

Let's say the Chiefs hang on to Albert and draft Fisher. Do you think they still try to do a long-term deal with Albert before the end of the season, or do they go into it knowing that they're letting him walk next year?

Bill Williamson
  (2:24 PM)

Probbaly wait and see how it plays out.

Scott (Northglenn, CO)

Over/under on trades tonight - 4.5?

Bill Williamson
  (2:24 PM)

Over.

trevor (kc)

Any word of the Chiefs drafting a safety in the 3rd and moving Berry to FS which he played more in college?

Bill Williamson
  (2:25 PM)

It wouldn't shock me.

Bill Williamson
  (2:26 PM)

To the guy who is calling himself Will Billiamson. I answered your question. Stop clogging the quesiton cue and let other people get a question in. Not cool, especially on a short chat.

Tom (NJ)

What are the chances the Chiefs trade the #1 overall pick away?

Bill Williamson
  (2:26 PM)

I'd say 10-20 percent. I'd be surprised.

Ryan (Hoboken)

Do you think the Chiefs could draft Dion Jordan and immediately turn and give Albert a long term contract to help ensure the O-Line?

Bill Williamson
  (2:28 PM)

If they take Jordan, they don't have to do anything immediate with Albert. They have for the year, but I think it could spark talks.

John (mo)

Is it possible the Chiefs will trade Albert for a couple picks in next year's draft instead of a pick in this draft?

Bill Williamson
  (2:29 PM)

They really want a second rounder this year, but you never now.

scott (Utah)

I"ve seen this asked but haven't seen it answered. What is fair or likely compensation the raiders can expect for the 3rd pick.

Bill Williamson
  (2:30 PM)

It depends on the market and where is the buying team picking in first round. It would be a good score whereever it is.

Bill Williamson
  (2:31 PM)

Gotta to go. Will answer three more questions.

mike (san diego ca)

If Lane Johnson is there at 6 for Cleveland is this the most likely trade up for the chargers...and would a 3rd rounder be sufficienht

Bill Williamson
  (2:31 PM)

I'd think Cleveland would want to get back a second.

James (OC)

Once the analysis begins after pick 32 tonight, is everyone hailing the Raiders as the preliminary winners of round one?

Bill Williamson
  (2:32 PM)

I think the Raiders will do very well tonight. Thye are in a prime spot to benefit from the trade market.

JJ (Indy)

Who is under more pressure to fold on the Branden Albert standoff and why... Miami or KC?

Bill Williamson
  (2:32 PM)

Miami. They need a LT.

Bill Williamson
  (2:33 PM)

OK, folks. Bene fun. We are doing a live chat tonight. I will be in and out and the blog and twitter will be full.Enjoy the night.
