Chat with Dan Graziano

Dan Graziano
  (12:00 PM)

Hello. Questions?

Eagles are down a McNutt [via mobile]

I see Felix as a camp body nothing else. My projected line up for RB would be Shady, BB, Polk if they keep a 4th maybe the ufa rb from stony brook. Thoughts?

Dan Graziano
  (12:01 PM)

I think Felix Jones is added to the mix at RB for the Eagles. I don't know how many they plan to keep, but it's not crazy to think he beats out Polk and Maysonet or even Brown. Nor is it crazy to think he doesn't. Teams like to have depth at RB, and he's got interesting experience that I'm sure appeals to Chip Kelly on some level.

Jason (Chesapeake, VA)

Any idea why pierre garcon is so adamantly opposed to having surgery? Is he just afraid of going under the knife?

Dan Graziano
  (12:01 PM)

Yes, the way it was put to me when I asked about this was that he has a phobia about surgery in general and wants to avoid it at all costs. He may have picked the wrong line of work!

Danilo (Redskins Park)

The new news of this week regarding the salary cap implications. Does that do anything for the Skins?

Dan Graziano
  (12:03 PM)

You'll have to clue me in. I saw no "new news." But regardless, that issue is all in the past now.

mike (philly)

Who is the starting DT for the cowboys next to Ratliff?

Dan Graziano
  (12:03 PM)

Jason Hatcher.

Brian Long (Annapolis)

What will make the Redskins D, better against the pass this year? Is it the return of Orakpo and Carricker or will it be the additions the team made to the safety postition??

Dan Graziano
  (12:04 PM)

I believe an improved pass rush would be the best thing for the Redskins' secondary.

dave (nyc)

You believe the Giants as of May 15 are a better team than the one that finished 2012 season if so why? Personnel seems weaker, year older and skill positions are unsettled THX!

Dan Graziano
  (12:04 PM)

I don't see where they got better, no.

Keith (SEC)

If Dez and Austin stay healthy this year, do you see the Cowboys 3rd round pick Terrence Williams making much of a contribution?

Dan Graziano
  (12:05 PM)

Sure, if he shows something, he can be the deep threat on the outside in 3-WR sets with Austin moving to the slot. But they like Dwayne Harris, too.

Cam (Atlanta)

Is the assumption that Kendricks will slot in next to Ryans as the Eagles' other mlb? Any challengers for that spot? If Kendricks is the starter, how do you think he'll transition from the outside?

Dan Graziano
  (12:06 PM)

Yes, I think Kendricks is the current depth chart leader at the inside linebacker spot next to Ryans, and I think he'll play well there.

Chris (Giants Land, NJ) [via mobile]

Dan, what do the Giants need to do to be consistent? Year in year out we see flashes of what the Giants are capable of and they are never able to sustain it over the course of a season. Why can't they play to their talent level?

Dan Graziano
  (12:06 PM)

Their regular-season records the last four years are 8-8, 10-6, 9-7, 9-7. There's not a more consistent team in the league.

Don (Indiana)

Dan,At this point you are really projecting Ratliff as the starting 1? I think that would be rather foolish given his inability to hold up. I was hoping that Kiffin/Maraneli would get some big guy off the street to take up double teams and stuff the run. What do you think?

Dan Graziano
  (12:06 PM)

I think Ratliff is the starter.

Jack (Michigan)

Dan, do you see any of the new rookie additions to the Redskins secondary starting week 1?

Dan Graziano
  (12:07 PM)

I think one of the safeties is going to have to.

tim tebow (New York)

What are the odds I land on an NFC East team for at least a portion of this summer, specifically the Eggles or Redskins?

Dan Graziano
  (12:07 PM)

I don't see it, Tim. I don't see the NFL fit for you right now.

Les (East Windsor, NJ)

Assuming Cruz returns to the Giants, what do you see as the pecking order behind him and Nicks?

Dan Graziano
  (12:09 PM)

I think they'd like Randle to take a big jump forward and be the next guy in that pecking order. But they brought in Murphy for returns and he could factor in. And they still think Jernigan has something to offer. Competition will decide.

Keith (Maryland)

What do you make of Mr. Snyder's comments on "never changing" the Redskins name? Does this add to his long list of black marks against him or is he just stating a fact?

Dan Graziano
  (12:09 PM)

I think he should be more open-minded to a sensitive issue.

@Geeeeemen (Forest Hills)

The May 15, 2007 and May 15, 2011 Giants were no better than their previous year's edition either.

Dan Graziano
  (12:10 PM)

Right. The Giants are, as I said earlier, extremely consistent year to year.

Kevin (SA, Texas)

Ok Dan. So assuming the Giants and Cruz don't get a deal done and he becomes a UFA for next year. Could he be the obvious replacement for an agin Moss on a Redskins team with cap room coming off the cap penalties?

Dan Graziano
  (12:11 PM)

Oh yeah, they'd love to get their hands on him. As would many other teams. I think in the end he stays, though.

Stephen D (Washington DC)

What is about Eric Winston that made Jerry Jones back away, from talks with him? It seems that anyone with NFL experience is a major upgrade to Doug Free..... Your thoughts

Dan Graziano
  (12:11 PM)

I agree with you. It's worth noting that Winston has been released twice in the last two offseasons, but I think Free's a big waste and he'd have been released if he played this poorly for anyone else.

Ben (PA)

Dan, Woodsen makes any sense on the Eagles for veteran leadership and guidance with a young secondary? Or is his price too high.

Dan Graziano
  (12:12 PM)

Jeez, how high can anyone's price be on May 14? I just think Kelly was looking for younger players.

Patrick (New Mexico)

Any word on Roy Helu? if healthy he can be a nice change of pace back for the skin's run game.

Dan Graziano
  (12:12 PM)

Yeah, but when's he been healthy?

McNutt is missing [via mobile]

Who's your least favorite RB in the Beast? Based off your last post my money is on Murray.

Dan Graziano
  (12:13 PM)

I always get a kick out of fans who think I write based on my personal feelings about players or teams, as though that's the way you'd do it. I've met DeMarco Murray and I like him a great deal. I just think he's being stupid about this new rule, as are a lot of other people.

dave (nyc)

Why not Woodson on the Giants? They have a history of aging UFA FS that can add depth and maturity to a secondary- Giant got LIT UP last year no?

Dan Graziano
  (12:14 PM)

I don't know. Why not Urlacher in their LB corps? I think that'd be a nice fit too. They don't.

Sean (NY) [via mobile]

Is this a hot seat year for Garrett or do you think Garrett and Romo are tied to the hip to play out?

Dan Graziano
  (12:14 PM)

I really don't think Garrett's job is in the kind of jeopardy everybody else thinks it is.

Keith (SEC)

Who is a darkhorse pass rusher in the NFC East that you think could break out this season?

Dan Graziano
  (12:15 PM)

Does Trent Cole count? I think he bounces back.

Tony D (Guam)

Am I the only one that doesnt get all the hate for Free. After getting flip flopped on the line the past couple of years, this might be the reason for his skid. I was watching highlights from just 3 years ago and the dude was mean. Best case senario, I would like to see a pay cut and stay on the roster. Thoughts?

Dan Graziano
  (12:17 PM)

But come on. The reason for the flip flop was how bad he was on the left side in 2011. You're right about the way he played in 2010, but since the contract he hasn't been remotely the same. Judging on the last two years, he's one of the worst starting tackles in the entire league.

Kaz (CT)

Does Aaron Curry can't be any worse than what the Giants already have at LB... right?

Dan Graziano
  (12:18 PM)

Well, sure he can. But he could also be better. Which is why they brought him in. To see.

Kevin (SA, Texas)

So you say Trent Cole for the darkhorse passrusher, but what about Orakpo and Kerrigan as a team if (and right now it is a pretty big if) they stay healthy the whole year?

Dan Graziano
  (12:18 PM)

Yeah, they should be great. But "if," as you say.

save (nyc)

Giants play as poorly in '13 as their last 2 games in '12 how might that impact Coughlin and the coaching staff? THX!

Dan Graziano
  (12:18 PM)

I think it would make them sad.

Craig (Cherry Hill, NJ)

If you had to take a guess, does Tuck bounce back, or is he in for another injury plagued, 5 sack season

Dan Graziano
  (12:19 PM)

If I have to guess (and yes, this is a guy I like, personally, a lot), I think it's closer to the latter.

Keith (Maryland)

What is going on with the G-men's D-Line? They have been downright deadly up until last year. Do you see a huge overhaul next season if Tuck doesn't own up?

Dan Graziano
  (12:19 PM)

Yes.

John (D.C.)

Was Travis Frederick that big of a reach?

Dan Graziano
  (12:20 PM)

I don't think so. Eight OLs went in the top 20 picks. They needed to get an OL in the first round. They like the guy. He can play any one of three positions where they desperately need help. I think it was a fine pick.

Jamie (NY)

Is Lane Johnson a better prospect now than when Tyron Smith came out?

Dan Graziano
  (12:20 PM)

Good question. I don't think so. I think he got picked higher because of the way OL was valued in this year's draft. But if I remember right, I'd say Smith was more highly regarded.

Kevin (Reno, NV)

How likely is it that Felix Jones will torment the Cowboys, and add salt in Jerry's wound, by actually staying healthy in an opposing team's uniform and flourishing in Chip Kelly's system?

Dan Graziano
  (12:21 PM)

Meh. I wouldn't let it keep me up nights.

Ray Finkle (Miami)

Which team has the best press box

Dan Graziano
  (12:21 PM)

Cowboys. That stadium has the best everything.

Chris (D.C.)

Dan, how do you think Fletcher Cox will fare in 2013-2014? I feel like a lot of people are forgetting about him because of the huge changes the Eagles are going through on D. He had a real solid year last year

Dan Graziano
  (12:21 PM)

I don't know who's forgetting about him, but I agree with you that he'll be very good.

Jack from Silver Spring (From the Bronx)

Dan, did some Giant fan beat you up as a child? Just curious that you can say the Giants are no better now than at the end of the season? A healty Nicks is a big leap for the offense and not to mention our draft. Admit Dan some Giant fan stole your lunch money or you are a closet Eagle fan with no trophies?

Dan Graziano
  (12:22 PM)

See, this is the kind of thing I'm talking about, right?

Mr. W (Dallas)

The "red Light" for the Eagles were the CB's if im not mistaken. Who if anybody to you see the Eagles adding, or do you think they will go into the season with what they have?

Dan Graziano
  (12:22 PM)

I think they're going with what they have.

John (stockbridge)

From the post draft comments of Ross and Reese it sounded like the Giants were going to use Moore to play some LB. Know anything about that?

Dan Graziano
  (12:23 PM)

I do not. I thought he was a pure pass-rusher, a 4-3 DE all the way.

Ryan (NYC)

Dan the Giants records the last 4 seasons, do you feel are the result of the NFCE schedule being extremely brutal, especially the last 2 seasons? It would seem to be a cause of the dramatic results ie not making playoff to winning Super Bowls with essentially the same record every year. On paper at least this year's NCFE schedule appears less brutal than in year's past so that could propel NFCE records higher than the recent 5 year average.

Dan Graziano
  (12:23 PM)

I don't know. Maybe. I just think the Giants are what they are. Always a contender, and if they get in the playoffs, a threat to win it all because of the coach/QB combo.

David (Halifax)

With the draft and free agency basically over, what do you see as the biggest position of weakness for each of the NFC east teams?

Dan Graziano
  (12:24 PM)

Cowboys: Safety. Giants: Linebacker. Eagles: Quarterback. Redskins: Safety.

Chris (Giants Land, NJ) [via mobile]

Do you enjoy porkroll?

Dan Graziano
  (12:24 PM)

Yes. And we called it porkroll where I grew up. Where I live now they call it Taylor ham.

Jeremy (Arlington)

you just summed up the Cowboys GM's decision making prowess in a nutshell with the statement "but I think Free's a big waste and he'd have been released if he played this poorly for anyone else."

Dan Graziano
  (12:25 PM)

Yes, I think it's well established that Jerry Jones has a hard time letting go.

Andy (MD)

Do you get the Cowboys fixation with 2nd round TEs, 'cause I don't? With Dez and Miles, what's the point of trying to be New England West?

Dan Graziano
  (12:25 PM)

Why wouldn't you want to be like New England?

Craig (Cherry Hill, NJ)

Dan, Week 1 of training camp, who gets first crack at lining up at RT for the Giants?

Dan Graziano
  (12:26 PM)

Man, that's a good question. I'll bet Diehl lines up there in Week 1 but it's Pugh by Week 3.

David (Halifax)

in your professional opinion, what do you think is the likelihood that Matt Barkley starts any games this season?

Dan Graziano
  (12:26 PM)

15 percent.

@gianacopulos (Mexico)

Hey Dan. I know it's too early to make predictions. But do you think the Cowboys have made the right moves to improve the 8-8 record and fight for a playoff spot?

Dan Graziano
  (12:27 PM)

Yeah, I think they can. I'd like to have seen one more upgrade on the offensive line.

Lawrence (Tallahassee)

Since Cowboys biggest weakness is Safety, do you think them not taking Elam will come back to bite them in the woo ha later?

Dan Graziano
  (12:28 PM)

It could. I've never seen Matt Johnson play. The Cowboys think he's great. If they're right, they're fine there. I just don't know how they can be sure.

Dave (UK)

What do you think of the new TE the Giants brought in from Oakland? Does he outperform Bennett from last year?

Dan Graziano
  (12:28 PM)

As a receiver, yes. As a blocker, no.

Tim (Santa Barbara, CA)

Hey Dan, I have been a skins fan for 41 years, I'm 45 now. If you were to pick one Redskins game to go to this regular season, what game would you chose, and why?

Dan Graziano
  (12:29 PM)

First one looks pretty interesting to me. I believe I'll go to that one and then see what happens.

Sean (Maryland)

Do you see Stephen Jones as the next GM/Owner in line for the Cowboys? Given Jerry's history thus far, is this something to look forward to if Stephen is next in line?

Dan Graziano
  (12:30 PM)

I think there's plenty of evidence that Stephen has become more and more involved in the day to day operations over the past few years, and I think that continues. I think you're seeing a gradual shift, as opposed to some defined, specific day in the future on which they announce new titles, etc.

Craig (Cherry Hill, NJ)

Dan, how many times do you think youve mentioned the Giants last 1st rd LB was Carl Banks? I'd put the over/under at 30

Dan Graziano
  (12:30 PM)

It's kind of become a running gag at this point.

Bryan (Cubicle)

I'll re-phrase.... Are the menu changes at the Eagle's facility that different from the rest of the league? Or just that different than the previous regime? I'd have to imagine other teams are trying to get their guys to eat healthy.

Dan Graziano
  (12:31 PM)

I think there are probably lots of teams that haven't had tacos for a long time.

DJ (NC)

How much stock to teams really put in these rookie minicamps? Is it really just a chance for teams to get these new guys used to how they want to do things?

Dan Graziano
  (12:32 PM)

Yes, it's really just that.

Phil (E)

Odds Mcnabb gets booed by Philly fans when he retires as an eagle this year?

Dan Graziano
  (12:33 PM)

No. They won't do that, will they?

Keith (SC)

Are you as tired as I am of hearing about the Cruz situation?

Dan Graziano
  (12:33 PM)

Yeah, only because nothing's changed in months. I'm eager for the next advancement of the story.

Kris (VA)

What is the most loud you have heard an NFCE stadium get? Just curious since you've been to them all.

Dan Graziano
  (12:33 PM)

FedEx Field the night they beat the Cowboys in Week 17 last year was pretty loud.

Michael (Tutwiler)

Are you going to OTAs?

Dan Graziano
  (12:34 PM)

Not sure about that. Planning minicamp trips now.

Danny (Giants Country)

What do you think of the trend to take the teams out of training camps on the road (i.e. Albany) and bringing them back to the facilities? Better for the team worse for the fan right?

Dan Graziano
  (12:34 PM)

Yes, I think you've nailed it.

Dave (UK)

Why haven't the Giants brought Bradshaw back?

Dan Graziano
  (12:34 PM)

I don't think he's healthy.

Dan Graziano
  (12:34 PM)

No one else has signed him, right?

Joe (Baltimore)

Dan, Which offseason loss do you think will impact the 2013 Giants the most? Phillips, Osi, Bradshaw, Bennett or someone else?

Dan Graziano
  (12:35 PM)

I really think it's Phillips, but as many have pointed out, they really didn't have him last year either.

Ben (Boston)

Do you see the read option style offense being an even bigger factor next year or do you believe defenses will begin to figure it out?

Dan Graziano
  (12:36 PM)

I don't think it gets figured out. I think it ultimately tails off because the QBs start getting hurt too much.

Danny (Giants Country)

Do you think Reese will keep Bradshaw off the team regardless of health in order to develop Wilson...knowing Coughlin's affinity for him and the likely hood he would get more carries then he probably deserves at this point? I have never heard a couch talk more glowingly about a guy then TC of AB.

Dan Graziano
  (12:37 PM)

I don't think it works that way. I think if Bradshaw were healthy and would come back for the minimum, they'd look at it.

Eric Q (NM)

Do you think Romo is as good as roger Staubach? :/

Dan Graziano
  (12:38 PM)

No. And I think Romo is really good.

Bryan (Springdale, AR)

What if we signed Brian Urlacher and moved Sean Lee to Safety?

Dan Graziano
  (12:38 PM)

You'd be downgrading at middle linebacker.

Weech (SoCal)

Any rooting interest in this NBA postseason?

Dan Graziano
  (12:39 PM)

No. I have no team in that league anyway, and the result this year seems like a foregone conclusion, does it not?

Craig (Cherry Hill, NJ)

If Pugh outplays Diehl in training camp, regardless of where they rank against Brewer, do they cut Diehl?

Dan Graziano
  (12:39 PM)

I doubt that. Having a vet who's won rings and can play any spot on the line sounds like a thing the Giants would like.

Bryan (Springdale, AR)

Can Dez challenge Megatron as the best receiver in the game this year or are we still another way from that in terms of Dez's development?

Dan Graziano
  (12:39 PM)

I think Dez Bryant can be as good as he wants to be.

Mike (SF, CA)

What about scrapple? You a fan?

Dan Graziano
  (12:40 PM)

Yes. It was a Christmas morning tradition in my home growing up, and my father still honors it every year.

Weech (SoCal)

Fair enough. Did you find yourself rooting for Philadelphia when Allen Iverson was there?

Dan Graziano
  (12:40 PM)

Not really, no.

UberSamoyed (Frisco, Texas)

What is your policy for blocking people on your ESPN twitter account? I'd love an explanation on that subject...since you blocked me for this tweet: "Because mock drafts are the best source of learned evaluations." Do tell Dan...

Dan Graziano
  (12:41 PM)

I can't speak to why you were blocked, but I block a lot of people, and my basic thought is, if you're tweeting me that you don't appreciate what I'm offering, I'm happy to spare you further offerings.

Philly (Phl)

How is Phillips health? Any reason to think he won't come back 100 percent by training camp?

Dan Graziano
  (12:42 PM)

Lots of reasons, sure. The knee problem could be chronic, and be there forever.

Ryan (NYC)

Lots of Cruz rumblings today Dan! Hearing from the internet sphere progress is being made

Dan Graziano
  (12:42 PM)

That right?

Malcolm Jacobs (Pittsburgh )

How are refs going to be able to determine if a RB lowered is head to protect himself or to "deliver a blow" at the speed of the game? Seems like an impossible task, and there will be many questionable calls this season.

Dan Graziano
  (12:43 PM)

Just don't lead with the top of your head, and you're good. Not that hard.

Chris (Raleigh)

Bizarre scheduling mistake: all sports (college and professional) are playing on the same day, which happens to be your day off. You want to take the kids to a game, which sport do you go to?

Dan Graziano
  (12:43 PM)

Baseball.

Mookman31 (DC)

Was at The Tombs briefly last weekend. Why would anyone want to go more than once?

Dan Graziano
  (12:43 PM)

If you didn't go to school there, you don't understand.

erit (golb tsae)

Do you avoid all confrontations?

Dan Graziano
  (12:44 PM)

I don't think anyone who knows me would accuse me of that.

Fran Mc (Philly)

A lot of experts are predicting that Eagles' Barkley starts year 2 or 3. My question is why are they assuming his better than Foles? They're from the same conference. Foles was drafted a round higher.

Dan Graziano
  (12:46 PM)

But by a different coaching staff. Look, the plain fact is, anyone who's "predicting" anything about the Eagles' QB situation, this year, next year or the year after, is guessing.

Derek (subway) [via mobile]

Is McNabb a hall of famer?i saw he's going to retire an Eagle, and even though we gave him a lot of crap, he was one of the top QB's for a few years.

Dan Graziano
  (12:47 PM)

His numbers actually make a decent case for Hall of Fame, compared to others who are in. But ultimately I'd have to predict he falls short.

Mike (SF, CA)

Yes, a significant contingency of Eagles fans will boo McNabb.

Dan Graziano
  (12:48 PM)

I think that's a shame.

Dave (UK)

Have you ever been to the UK Dan?

Dan Graziano
  (12:48 PM)

Yes.

Malcolm Jacobs (Pittsburgh )

How do you know it's not that hard to protect yourself? You've obviously never played football at the RB or WR position. It's natural, you protect your chin, you protect your head from being snapped back. Imagine running into a wall bent over face first. Now imagine the same thing but the brick wall is coming at full speed.

Dan Graziano
  (12:48 PM)

Leading with the top of your helmet is not "protecting yourself." You are taught this in Pop Warner. See what you hit. If you are ducking your head, you're doing it wrong.

Ryan (Oak Harbor WA)

Who do you has the best division at this time?

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

Tough not to like the NFC West right now.

Brad (Annapolis, MD)

Can you please answer questions related to the NFC East? Nobody cares about Scrapple, your affection for confrontations, or bizarre scheduling mistakes. (Don't respond to this, just hope you see it)

Dan Graziano
  (12:49 PM)

Surely, you could be doing other things.

Chris (Giants Land, NJ) [via mobile]

Dan, does it speak well of Reese's ability to evaluate talent that few Giants that leave via free-agency live up to their contracts?

Dan Graziano
  (12:50 PM)

Yes. One of the hardest things to do -- let go before it's too late. Especially with guys who have won you championships.

Alex (NOLA)

Dan, do you think a -healthy- Nicks or Bryant is the best WR in the NFC East?

Dan Graziano
  (12:51 PM)

I think, right now, as of May 14, 2013, if both are fully healthy, Hakeem Nicks is the better all-around player. But I think Dez Bryant has a higher ceiling, and is not at all far from passing him.

Bobby (Albuquerque)

Once the salary cap restrictions are lifted next year, will we see the return of a spend happy Redskins free agency?

Dan Graziano
  (12:52 PM)

I think you'll see them go back to what they did in 2011 and 2012 -- target certain guys they believe fit the profile (age 26-28, somewhat established but still hungry and with room to grow) and spend to get the guys they like.

Bryan (Springdale, AR)

You always keep your head up so you can see where to place your head so you don't jam it and cause a neck injury. If you run with your face down something really nasty could happen. I suspect if players keep running with their face down and trying to use their helment as a weapon and players don't get penalized for this, defenders might start taking matters into their own hands and throwing some reckless hits into RB's helmets, agreed?

Dan Graziano
  (12:52 PM)

Yes. The new rule is designed to keep RBs from injuring themselves severely. Those who don't get it are talking tough without thinking.

Kenny J (Martinsburg)

Has Dan snyder finally grown into a very good and responsible owner, and will Jerry Jones ever do the same?

Dan Graziano
  (12:53 PM)

I think Snyder has honored his contractual promise to stay in the background and let Shanahan run the team the way he wants to run it. I don't imagine Jones will ever make such a promise.

Gmen (CT)

Who wins the NFC East

Dan Graziano
  (12:54 PM)

Someone different every year for the past four. If you go by that, it's the Cowboys' turn.

Alex (Maryland)

What do you think the Eagles will do with Jeremy Maclin seeing he is in the last year of his contract

Dan Graziano
  (12:55 PM)

I think this year is an audition for Maclin, and there's no way to predict what they'll do with him until we see how he plays. They'll have the money and cap room to do whatever they want to do with him.

Keith (SC)

If Cruz leaves next year and goes to a team without a true #1 (or stays and doesn't have a healthy Nicks), do you think his success translates?

Dan Graziano
  (12:55 PM)

It's a good question. I'd have to know who the QB is on said team.

Kenny J (Martinsburg)

I hate Dallas as a Redskins fan, but miss the days when we both ruled the division.. Great great games, but I am afraid Dallas stands to be dominated if Jerry Jones can't release the reigns, any chance I get to see the GREAT RIVALRY again before I die?

Dan Graziano
  (12:56 PM)

I mean, they played each other literally four and a half months ago for the division title. Right?

bBrian, Washington [via mobile]

What if that qb is Robert Griffin III

Dan Graziano
  (12:56 PM)

If that were the case, I'd like Cruz's chances.

Malcolm Jacobs (Pittsburgh )

Are the Cowboys regretting passing up on Elam with their 3 round safety being "light years away from helping the team" according to their DBs coach?

Dan Graziano
  (12:57 PM)

No, because they really do like Church and Matt Johnson. They're not just talking tough. The question is whether those guys play well enough to prove them right.

jordan (jersey)

Thoughts on whether Prince Amukamara could turn into something special barring he stays healthy? I hear about him so little I feel like I'm going crazy thinking that

Dan Graziano
  (12:57 PM)

I think he's developing into a very good player.

So McNabb is a borderline HoFer, what about Todd Pinkston...er, Terrell Owens?

Dan Graziano

Owens on the numbers is a slam-dunk Hall of Famer. Strictly on the numbers. Not even a question. Now, will the voters downgrade him for other reasons? Possible.

I don't take sides in contract disputes but do you feel Cruz really should expect anything more than to be the highest paid slot receiver?

Dan Graziano
  (12:58 PM)

His case is based on the numbers he's put up the last two years, compared to other WRs in the league. I see his side.

Ryan (Philly)

Who are the likely Week 1 DL starters for the Eagles?

Dan Graziano
  (12:59 PM)

Cox, Sopoaga, Thornton if they line up in a 3-4 on the first series.

Inquiring Mind (Jersey)

Dan, saw your blogger blitz with Sando yesterday. Good commentary. Im wondering though, does ESPN give you those backgrounds as part of a starter kit? HTTR!

It just showed up in the mail one day.

A Hope (And A Prayer )

Ok Dan 12:59 ...Time to answeer that Madden question ..What team from the east would you play with?!

Dan Graziano
  (1:00 PM)

I'm sorry. Haven't played Madden in years. But if memory serves, RG3 would be a heck of a lot of fun to play that game with, no?

Eric (Boston)

Goodbye Dan. Thanks for wasting another of my lunch hours.

It has been my pleasure. See you all next week. Well, not "see" you. But you know what I mean.
