Let's get started...
Why would Kiper have Murray out of the top 10 for quaterback prospects? What will it take for him to be an elite college quarterback?
I think he is an elite college quarterback as it stands right now. My guess is that Mel Kiper thinks Murray is too short at 6-foot-1. I would disagree with that but historically Kiper would win the argument.
Hey Radi you should know that the chat link on the Dawgnation homepage is wrong, it goes to the Gatornation chat with Mike DiRocco
Mike is always trying to steal my audience. (I'll let them know - Thanks!)
What will be the strong point of D?
Right now I would have to say the linebackers. Jordan Jenkins and Amarlo Herrera will anchor the outside and inside respectively and the options for the other two spots look to be very solid in James DeLoach, Josh Dawson, Reggie Carter, Johnny O'Neal, Chase Vasser... I could go on and on for a while.
What happened with UGA and Kentavious Street? He had UGA as a favorite but had yet to visit, and now NC State leads. What are our chances to land him?
I think UGA is third for Street right now. I would say Georgia's chances are poor- UNTIL they get him on campus. That could change everything.
When are the big time targets like Lorenzo Carter, Gaillard, McMillan, Shaw, Parrish, and Sawyer going to be on campus next?
The last question leads to this one. Nice... Most of those players are practicing now. Let them get through their spring games and then they will start taking more visits.
I've heard rumors that Sony Michel's brother who transferred from UMass is considering transfering? Any new info on that
I had heard something along those line but I didn't follow that story. So far it has been a non-issue in regards to Michel's commitment to Georgia. But just to be sure I will look into it and report what we find on The Pound at DawgNation.
Radi, I am a student at UGA and excitment is growing over this clemson game.I know we have a while until kickoff but what is your prediction at this point. What are your keys to the game and who are some less known guys for both teams that you see standing out?
Right now I am predicting a loss for Georgia. I thin the defense may not be ready for the Clemson offense as there will be a lot of guys in new roles and the defense will likely take a while to gel. The key to the game will be ball control, turnovers and time of possession. I think both teams could score close to 40 points so whoever hangs on to the ball and doesn't give up a cheap touchdown will have a huge advantage.
Gauge Nick Chubb's interest in Carolina.
I think it is a passing fancy. He wanted to give them a look but I don't think the Gamecocks made a strong enough impression on Chubb to dissuade him from eventually picking UGA.
Do you think uga has a realistic chance of pulling in Autry & Carter from Norcross high?
I will find out Friday when I go see them if all goes as planned. I think Georgia could get Lorenzo Carter but Myles Autry's dream is to play for Ohio State. So that might be a tough sell. Of course Georgia is a lot closer and the Bulldogs have been after him for a long time.
Do you think that Georgia and Florida State will happen in 2016?
If we see the selection committee for the College Football Playoff put an emphasis on strength of schedule, then yes. If not, then no. Why add FSU to a ridiculously hard SEC schedule when you already have Georgia Tech every year?
Who will get more playing time this year, me or johnathon Taylor ?
You don't want me to answer that Ray.
Do you think Christian Robinson will be an asset in recruiting for UGA?
Yes. He is young and knows how to sell the program. Recruits will be able to identify with Robinson. His enthusiasm will be evident -- and since recruits can also sniff out insincerity -- that will be an asset.
Do the think the Kolton Houston publicity will garner a reaction from the NCAA? You had the OTL's story on Sunday, Sportscenter is showing it today at 3pm, and now a petition being sent around. They can't stay quit for long.
They can and they will. Public opinion does not seem to move the NCAA as they are not accountable to the public. I just don't see them budging.
What kind of player is Dyshon Sims? Currently he seems under the radar and Georgia is his only high major offer? Judging by that is he a 3-star? or is he a 4 star caliber player down the road?
I haven't seen him yet so I can't say. But once our scouts take a look at him there will be a detailed write-up on his strengths and weaknesses. He was definitely under the radar, but then so was Kenarious Gates and that worked out well. I bet Sims has more than one D1 offer before long though. Players are blowing up during this evaluation period. Don't let the offer list fool you.
Any update on Thomas?
Does not appear that FSU is going to release him at this point.
Did you get an update on Josh Malone?
We had one on the front of our website last night after he got his offer. Check www.dawgnationespn.com and scroll through the blog. Dave Hooker caught up with him. I am sure we will talk to Malone again soon.
What kind of impact are the 2014 commits making on the class as a whole? What players are wanting to come play with a top running back like Michel?
Little so far. The only gregarious ones are Jeb Blazevich and Nick Glass. The others seem to keep to themselves. With Glass looking around, he doesn't seem to be recruiting as hard as he used too. Georgia needs a repeat of Shaq Wiggins from last year.
Any chance UGA offers Allen Artis the safety from Wheeler?
Always a chance. But then who Georgia offers and who they do not has never followed a pattern that I could detect. I know they just evaluated Cameron Albright so he may get an offer soon. Plus Cortez McDowell might not be a Tennessee lock as many once predicted.
Update on Gaillard?
We have scheduled an update on Lamont Gallaird for next week. The last time we spoke to him her had Georgia on top. But as quickly as things change, we think it best to check on him again.
What D linemen are looking at UGA
Lamont Gallaird, Elisha Shaw, Kendall Baker and Davonte Lambert are ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Can the Pacers beat the Heat?
Outside of Mitchell, and with the emergence of Conley at the end of last year and Bennett coming back from injury, there seems to be a bit of a pile-up at WR (a good problem). How do you see the depth chart breaking out for that?
I would see Malcolm Mitchell, Michael Bennett and Chris Conley as starters with Rantavious Wooten being the fourth receiver (or maybe third). Then Jonathan Rumph, Blake Tibbs, Justin Scott-Wesley and Rhett McGowan would be the second team. This summer we will see Reggie Davis, Rico Johnson and Uriah LeMay stat working with the team so as you say, the team looks tacked.
Who do you have in the SEC Championship rigth now?
This far out, I will pick Florida and Alabama. I know I may be in the minority with that pick considering South Carolina's schedule, but I don't think the Gamecocks will have the team they have had in the past. Granted this is a May pick. June might be different. I think if Georgia's defense gels quickly, then the Bulldogs could make a third trip in a row.
I may catch some grief for this, but as a someone who spent my youth playing hockey: True or false, the Stanley Cup is the best trophy in sports?
Love the trophy and its history. So yes. But it is not the greatest sporting accomplishment or championship.
Rabi is there anything that you just want to talk about?
I always try to avoid politics and religion because I was taught not to bring up either in polite conversation. Other than that I am game for anything. Classic literature, classic hip-hop and BBQ tend to be my favorite topics. Ok. Maybe not classic literature...
Thanks for all the questions folks. About to hit the road for more of our "Tales from the Road" series. Be sure to check out today's version on Recruiting Nation.
