Fantasy Sports with Eric Karabell

Eric Karabell
  (11:01 AM)

Hello all and welcome to the latest fantasy sports chat session! I am Eric, and we can talk baseball or football or both, whatever you like! Thanks for showing up live or checking us out on the chat wrap, and let's enjoy the next hour... any questions?

Steve (Vancouver)

Can you please project and rank saves for Melancon Vs. Brothers ROS? Thx!

Eric Karabell
  (11:02 AM)

It doesn't look good for Jason Grilli, and I would think Melancon keeps the Pirates closing job for a while. In Colorado one would think Raffy Betancourt gets the closing role back as soon as he's recovered from appendix surgery, which should be a few weeks.

Harry (Seattle)

Eric--Crisp has exactly 3 steals since June 1st. Is this because he is playing hurt? Will he run or should I look elsewhere for steals?

Eric Karabell
  (11:03 AM)

That is frustrating, owning a steals guy and then he barely runs. Certainly Coco has had issues staying healthy before. It might explain Michael Bourn barely running as well. I'd try to wait longer.

Parker (Nantucket)

Any thoughts on Erasmo Ramirez and whether he should be considered in deep leagues?

Eric Karabell
  (11:04 AM)

Looked fine Tuesday, but the minor league numbers are way above what expectations in the big leagues are. In a deep league, sure. But I'd try to move him based on expectations.

Derrick (Tampa)

D Price or C Archer this week......who ya like better?

Eric Karabell
  (11:04 AM)

Like both, but you can't really pick against Price. Archer isn't a big K guy right now.

Chase (MA)

Is Nick Castellanos worth a speculative pick up in case Cabrera needs a DL stint? Castellanos seems primed for a call-up anyway, so is he worth an add in deep formats regardless?

Eric Karabell
  (11:05 AM)

It doesn't appear Cabrera will be out more than a day or two, and I think Castellanos gets the call soon to play left field. Yeah, he can hit and is worth a stash in deep leagues. Tigers could also foolishly trade him for relief help.

Brandon (FTW)

Offered Puig for Hamels, thoughts?

Eric Karabell
  (11:05 AM)

If you need pitching help, absolutely.

andrew (nc)

Do you think Martin Prado's numbers will rise significantly this half of the season?

Eric Karabell
  (11:06 AM)

I think he's more than capable of hitting .300 the rest of the way, and he's at nine home runs, which isn't a fluke either. Just a tough first half, but an established, reliable hitter.

Chris (Los Angeles)

Too late to move Medlen, or does he still have enough potential value to be tradeable?

Eric Karabell
  (11:07 AM)

Been saying for months he was bullpen bound. Now he is. But based on 2012 numbers perhaps you can convince another owner to trade for him. Plus, if anything happens to Kimbrel...

Brian (Boston, MA)

With Braun done for the year, should I grab Yelich as a replacement and is he a potential keeper going forward?

Eric Karabell
  (11:09 AM)

Yes, Yelich in a deep league is legit. Should have some growing pains initially, but he can hit and run. As for Braun, it stinks. Totally stinks. But all this mass outrage in the media and the players and the fans over him lying and owing us apologies... absolutely ridiculous. He's an athlete. Owes us NOTHING. Not a role model. They're all trying to get monster contracts, however it's done. Braun will be a top-10 player in 2014.

Matt (Nashville)

Jose Fernandez, Jordan Zimmerman, David Price. Keep two for 2 years. Originally I was all on for Jordan & David but this Jose guy seems legit.

Eric Karabell
  (11:09 AM)

I can make a strong case for Fernandez over Zimmermann on strikeouts alone.

Magic 8 Ball (EK's desk)

How soon until Bogaerts (or Taveras) get called up?

Eric Karabell
  (11:10 AM)

I could see Bogaerts in a month, as soon as Drew is hurt again and Iglesias' batting average falls below .300 (which it will). I don't see Taveras being healthy enough to contribute for the Cardinals.

El Guapo (Santa Polco)

Better keeper option for 2014: W. Myers or G. Stanton?

Eric Karabell
  (11:11 AM)

Stanton is still far more accomplished.

Matt (Boise)

Non fantasy question. When a player gets suspended without pay where does that salary go? Does the team keep the money or does MLB collect it?

Eric Karabell
  (11:11 AM)

I think the team just doesn't pay it. Certainly the league doesn't need more money.

Ben (Toronto)

What's your take on Josh Rutledge? Drop him for Adainy Hechavarria in a dynasty?

Eric Karabell
  (11:12 AM)

Demoted again last night. Rockies are giving up on him, so should you. Neither is worth much in a dynasty league at this point.

Ben (Atlanta)

Which of these 2B keepers has highest offense celing: Profar, Gyorko or Lawrie? Which of them actually plays 2b next season?

Eric Karabell
  (11:13 AM)

Hmmm. I'd say Gyorko is the only lock to stay at 2B. Profar only if Kinsler dealt. I'm not 100 percent giving up on Lawrie, but ... I still think Profar has highest overall upside, but he has not run at all. Very disappointing.

Chris (Livonia)

What about Jonathan Villar in an AL only keeper league...any long term value?

Eric Karabell
  (11:13 AM)

Huge fan. Huge. Like a young Jimmy Rollins, really. Will run, hit for modest power, score runs. Add him now. Everywhere.

Coop (Orlando)

Do you think Verlander, with all the innings thrown over the last couple of years, is heading down the same path that Roy Halladay is on now? Would you make a trade for him?

Eric Karabell
  (11:14 AM)

That's a bit pessimistic. All pitchers are different, but certainly with older pitchers that have appeared in October games, like those guys and Sabathia, I do wonder if the extra innings pushed them overboard.

Jeff (kansas)

Do you think Kemp should get the 2011 NL MVP trophy?

Eric Karabell
  (11:15 AM)

No. Definitely not. How do we know about him for sure? Stats are stats. I'm just shocked at the world becoming the morality police.

Phil (Madison)

Any chance I'd want to consider keeping Kipnis 2nd round next year over Fielder? This year they certainly haven't been close.

Eric Karabell
  (11:15 AM)

Case can easily be made based on positions and youth and stolen bases.

Tom (Sunny State College)

Grabbed Eaton a few weeks ago because I was in need of steals. He's provided zero. Keep or who will be recalled soon that could help with steals?

Eric Karabell
  (11:15 AM)

Had a nice offensive night Tuesday, and I think the steals are coming. Be patient.

Sebastian (Baltimore)

What do you think about the k-rod trade?

Eric Karabell
  (11:16 AM)

Won't close. Orioles needed help. But great deal for Brewers in case the prospect turns into something. Nice return for an overrated asset.

Chris (Philly)

Villar over Rollins?

Eric Karabell
  (11:16 AM)

In a year, yes. Today, prob not. Not yet. But Rollins is doing nothing this season.

Larry (NH)

you're so wrong about Braun. He OWES people who pay his salary the truth. Like it or not athletes are role models. He's a cheater and a liar. Matt Kemp is 100% correct. Also you should get off the Hamels bandwagon. He has regressed the last two seasons.

Eric Karabell
  (11:17 AM)

He owes nothing. That's just ridiculous. Same with the role model part. He's just an athlete and cares about himself. I won't argue the cheating and lying part, but look around you, that stuff is everywhere. And there's nothing wrong with Hamels. Again, that's ridiculous.

Brian (NY)

Thoughts on Alex Wood?

Eric Karabell
  (11:18 AM)

Big fan. Starts tomorrow and stays in rotation for years. Get in on the ground floor now in a good organization for a guy with upside.

Dave (Alexandria)

Was offered Travis Wood and Jason Heyward for Mark Trumbo in my keeper league. Accept right?

Eric Karabell
  (11:18 AM)

You're kidding, right? Yes. A thousand times yes.

Ryan (Phoenix)

Is Blake Parker closing on the north side of Chi-town in a week?

Eric Karabell
  (11:19 AM)

I thought so but now flip flopping manager Dale Sveum has floated the Pedro Strop idea of closing, too. Every day Sveum has a new name. He prob thinks Marmol is still a factor...

MeisterNJ (Mendham)

Think the Brewers are done trading RP? Might Axford get his job back?

Eric Karabell
  (11:20 AM)

If I were running the Brewers I'd trade Axford and Henderson, too. They aren't special relievers and you can finish in last place without them. They aren't building block pitchers. Closers are the most overrated properties in baseball by far. Cubs must move Gregg.

TJ (Chicago)

Piggybacking on your Alex Wood comment...it seems a foregone conclusion that he's going to replace Medlen in the rotation...but what does his move mean for Beachy? Beachy to replace Maholm or Beachy in the pen as well? Braves are so lucky...

Eric Karabell
  (11:21 AM)

Maholm is on the DL, so it seems the problem fixed itself. Beachy back in a week. A healthy Maholm to the bullpen with Medlen.

Matt (Baltimore)

Is Adam Eaton a major steals guy?

Eric Karabell
  (11:21 AM)

In a full season I could see 30. Not 60. But 30 is major.

Mason (TX)

Keep Alonzo or Beckham in a dynasty league?

Eric Karabell
  (11:21 AM)

Neither. Honestly, neither is special. Must be someone else.

James (Gainesville)

Follow up on Dave's question...what are your thoughts on Heyward's long-term value? Still a future star?

Eric Karabell
  (11:21 AM)

Absolutely. Keep him owned.

Villar (Quick)

Villar over Aybar? Dynasty league I am in 1st but short on steals...

Eric Karabell
  (11:22 AM)

Villar. Yes, after only two games. Been a runner for years. And Aybar used to run, but when a guy steals ONE base a month into August, that's a trend.

Greg (NJ)

Do you see the Mets trading Parnell or Byrd? And what could they possibly get in return?

Eric Karabell
  (11:23 AM)

They want to keep Parnell. I'd move him. And I doubt they get anything of value for Byrd, but absolutely that team has NO reason to keep Byrd around. Get a Double-A player for him. Play a kid. Any kid.

Guy (Here)

is Junior Lake legit?

Eric Karabell
  (11:23 AM)

I don't think he's this legit, and when David DeJesus returns this week, Lake probably sits. Not that I would do that.

Bill [via mobile]

Your position on Braun seems awfully pessimistic. Is it because you are a fantasy stats guy and players are nothing more than numbers to you?

Eric Karabell
  (11:25 AM)

Nothing to do with fantasy or numbers. I hosted ESPN's top baseball podcast for 5 years. But I don't know why anyone is surprised at these players testing positive and lying. Didn't we all know Braun got away with it two offseasons ago? And even now it's sleazy... team in last place, he has a thumb injury, so why not sit out the final 2 months. Next year salary goes up and he would have lost more money. I don't see this as baseball winning at all... Braun beat them again, really. But let's be objective from a fantasy aspect, too: Next year he will hit. He will run. Ignore him in drafts at your own peril. This is not Melky Cabrera. Braun has been great since 2007.

Opportunity (Knocking)

As soon as the news of Braun broke I offered Dominic Brown and Shelby Miller for Ryan Braun and Yu Darvish in a non-keeper league, which was quickly accepted. I used Braun to shield the value of Darvish, which was who I really wanted. What do you think of this trade and the strategy I used to get a potentially top 5 SP?

Eric Karabell
  (11:26 AM)

Well, it's a bit sleazy. I mean, you should be dealing in better faith than that, but to some the win is the only thing that matters. But good luck.

cb (ohio)

is gio excluded from the ped penalties. keep seeing his name lumped in but not for illegal substance

Eric Karabell
  (11:27 AM)

I think based on what occurred this week it's safe to say that NOBODY knows for sure what is really going on. I'm serious. Reports are this and that but we just don't know. I still don't think unless the player agrees to a suspension that MLB can suspend them until appeals are heard in months. Braun was smart. Gio, I have no idea what he did or didn't do. Nobody does.

Doug (MT)

At what point do people realize that Heyward isn't going to be the instant star everyone predicted? He's young, and will be fine eventually, but he's SO overvalued in fantasy right now. Other than long term keeper leagues, I just don't see the appeal.

Eric Karabell
  (11:28 AM)

Last year was the appeal. He has the skills to do that at any point again. I agree he's overrated but you don't give up on talent like this.

Chris (Philly)

Eric, I'm our your side that the Braun circus is over the top. But at least people are pissed about cheating and being lied to. There should be consequences - there is in real life. Baseball is late on dropping the hammer on steroid users. But at least it is finally happening.

Eric Karabell
  (11:29 AM)

Agreed. And watch A-Rod never play again.

Dave (Eagan, MN)

With the Braun suspension, how would you value Nelson Cruz for the rest of the year? Is it time to sell or do you think he'll get a suspension next year?

Eric Karabell
  (11:29 AM)

No idea. And don't want to guess. I'm sure he's aware of the situation and trying to avoid suspension.

Matt (PHL)

I'm trying to move Verlander...what kind of hitter would you look to get in return?

Eric Karabell
  (11:29 AM)

A top-10 option. Really. Verlander is that good.

John (Vermont)

If you had to pick a NL cy young who would you pick? Harvey? Kershaw? or someone else?

Eric Karabell
  (11:30 AM)

Kershaw for me. Will have more innings pitched, and that does matter. Win-loss record does not.

chris (nyc)

Should I drop an established SP like Leake or Hudson for Wood or is that jumping the gun?

Eric Karabell
  (11:30 AM)

Jumping the gun if trying to win now, but certainly the kid has the upside the others do not.

Gerald (Toledo)

I have Braun in a keeper league and a great chance to win this year, as long as I can trade him. What do you think is the best I can get for him now? Ellsbury?

Eric Karabell
  (11:31 AM)

No idea what someone would pay for him. But I'm trying to get him in my keeper leagues. I have zero concerns moving ahead. Separate the mock anger for him and check the stats. Great buy low opportunity.

Nick (The 203)

How do you see Melancon transitioning to the closer spot?

Eric Karabell
  (11:32 AM)

As well as Grilli did. There is no transition. Ask the pitchers (which I have). It's just a different inning to them. Those that point out the "extra pressure" or how you need a "closer mentality" don't get it. It does not exist. Melancon will thrive.

Ben (Atlanta)

It was nice to see Wil Myers homer last night but it's been nicer still to see him hit so many singles and steal bases. What is he next year top-25 OF? Top-50?

Eric Karabell
  (11:33 AM)

I think he will slip into my top 20 outfielders. I don't think he's a 10-steals guy for sure moving ahead though.

Endy Chavez (LA)

Hardy, Rollins and Villar - rank ROS please.

Eric Karabell
  (11:33 AM)

Villar is still third. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. He has to get on base at this level. But he's a young Rollins by next year.

Dave (Eagan, MN)

Which is the bigger loss for their team, Braun for the remainder of the season or A-Rod for the remainder of his career?

Eric Karabell
  (11:34 AM)

Yankees would LOVE it if A-Rod was off their books. Brewers couldn't care less about the rest of this season. Not an even comp.

Dave (NYC)

Which SP would you pick up first out of FA: Liriano, Lackey, T. Wood?

Eric Karabell
  (11:35 AM)

Wood first, then Liriano. But all 3 seem safe at this point.

Jared (FL)

What's up with Ryu? WHIP getting higher and higher.

Eric Karabell
  (11:35 AM)

Not too surprising the third time around the league. Might be tiring as well. Not a slim guy.

Doug (MT)

Shelby Miller had been killing me the last couple starts but looked good last night (on my bench, sadly). Do you see him continuing to pitch well going forward? Concerned about an innings limit?

Eric Karabell
  (11:36 AM)

Pretty easy opponent Tuesday, though. Still has command issues from what I saw. I don't think there's a real innings limit, but might have a start or two skipped. Cardinals about the smartest organization in the game right now, I trust what they and the Rays and Braves do.

Justin (indianapolis) [via mobile]

Starlin Castro seems to be putting it together a bit more, is this the beginning of him being the player we all know he can be?

Eric Karabell
  (11:36 AM)

Look at his career, that's what he is. And he's worth owning.

Big Ed (Miami)

McLouth has regressed drastically in the SB department. Is it that the O's don't feel the need to run? Who's an option out there for steals ROS?

Eric Karabell
  (11:37 AM)

I don't know how many times I said that would happen back in May. A lot. It's not the O's, it's him. Probably not healthy. Rajai Davis? Villar?

Shaun (Charlotte)

Your opinion of P.Strop if he takes over for a traded Gregg?

Eric Karabell
  (11:38 AM)

I don't think Strop is very good, but neither is Gregg. Saves have little to do with being a good pitcher. It's an opportunity stat. Anyone can hold a 3-run lead or get the 7-8-9 hitters out up a run.

AD (Dallas)

Read your piece on Villar..would you take him over the likes of say: Iglesias, Brad Miller, Cozart, Florimon?? Thanks!

Eric Karabell
  (11:38 AM)

Yes. And the blog entry says that.

Billy (KC)

FOOTBALL!!! I got the 4th pick in a 12 team .5 PPR league. Am I crazy for going with Spiller over the likes of Martin and Charles?

Eric Karabell
  (11:39 AM)

Not crazy at all. I've got Charles there and think people are a bit too high on Martin, but all are good.

Josh (Chicago)

Would you drop Wheeler for Wood? (this is for my last SP spot)

Eric Karabell
  (11:39 AM)

The only reason to say no is because if Wood pitches poorly Thursday, they could overreact and leave Medlen in over him after that. Or return Maholm to rotation. So he needs to pitch well. I think he will.

Dave (Portland, ME)

Do you think Yelich will get in his 130 At Bats ?

Eric Karabell
  (11:40 AM)

Yes. This is his rookie year. Not 2014. Marlins don't care about that.

Eric (Chicago) [via mobile]

Please Eric offer some better insight. Lake won't sit. Sveum knows Mamol is no longer a factor. Stop trying to be funny and stick with what you know or move over for somebody else.

Eric Karabell
  (11:41 AM)

Sorry, that's the insight you get. Angry Cubs fan. Sveum has changed his mind constantly about big and small decisions, so he can't be trusted. The Marmol thing was a joke. He kept saying Marmol was a factor, and he wasn't. And the Cubs are saying Lake is going to step aside for DeJesus, which again, prob can't be trusted, but they're saying it. Now the Cubs SHOULD trade DeJesus and Soriano, so Lake will play, but if you think he's this good, you're not paying attention.

Mike (San Diego)

Is now the time to sell on Gerrit Cole in a redraft league?

Eric Karabell
  (11:43 AM)

Yeah, I think he has a bright future, but is a bit overrated for fantasy. Not striking out a lot of guys with that straight fastball. It's about value and big names like that are always a bit over-coveted.

Tom (Sunny State College)

Who is closing in SD on August 1st? Reports saying shopping all 4 top relievers to Detroit and Atlanta.

Eric Karabell
  (11:44 AM)

They should shop their entire bullpen. It's not hard to get replacement relievers. Street is not special. So overrated. So is Gregerson. I think Thayer gets saves eventually.

Craig (California)

Have our expectations just been too lofty for Strasburg, or is he just slightly not as good as we all thought? Unfortunate this year with a big run/breakout on the way?

Eric Karabell
  (11:44 AM)

I think he's still tremendous, but people's expectations were so high. Hopefully he's not like Greinke, has that one amazing full season but otherwise isn't special. Too early to go there.

Chris (NYC)

Where does Melancon slot in to your closer rankings for ROS at this point? Above Uehara?

Eric Karabell
  (11:45 AM)

Yeah, actually. I just don't see how Grilli will be back soon. And the Red Sox seem intent on upgrading the back of the bullpen.

Azrael (Smurf village)

Meow. Looking at trading for Hamilton. Any hope he turns things around yet during the stretch? Name game?

Eric Karabell
  (11:46 AM)

I think Hamilton is pretty much set for 2013. More power over the past month, but no walks. He needs an offseason to fix his swing and hopefully his approach. And when the Angels are out of it first week of Sept, I doubt Hamilton is pushed to play. Sorry!

Scott (Chicago)

Do you think Eli Manning will be throwing the ball more this year? Wilson and Brown may split carries, and Rueban Randle is on sleeper radar. Things seem like they may open up for Eli this year; what say you?

Eric Karabell
  (11:47 AM)

Football! Get the football questions in! I think Eli can throw for 4,200 yards, more than last year, but I don't know why the Giants would drastically change a thing. I do see Randle emerging.

Erik Karabell's Conscience ((Erik's Head))

It turns out you were wrong about a Braun suspension. You said it wouldn't happen, and that if it did, the appeals process would drag on for a very long time. I think you also said to trade FOR him. Are you willing to admit that, in hindsight, you were wrong and WAY too optimistic...even a bit naive?

Eric Karabell
  (11:49 AM)

Absolutely. I admit being wrong plenty. I thought Braun was so smug and overconfident that he would NEVER admit guilt. If he hadn't, this would have dragged on for a year in appeals. But he saw an opportunity to lose LESS money and miss FEWER games and anyway his team is in last and he has a bum thumb. MLB shouldn't have LET him get away with this, really. But if all you want is for me to admit I didn't see this coming, sure. I would have traded for him. I still will in keeper formats.

Ryan (PA)

I know you're a big Harper fan, would you trade Verlander, Cain & Heyward for Harper, Peavy

Eric Karabell
  (11:49 AM)

No, that's way too much.

Dan (Seattle-ish)

Sleeper RB in ppr format?

Eric Karabell
  (11:50 AM)

Vereen, Reece, Hillman.

Andrew (Detroit)

Pick a side... Price ($25) or Anibal ($7) in a keeper league?

Eric Karabell
  (11:50 AM)

Win now. Take Price.

Mark (Chicago)

Better DL stash, Halladay or Morrow?

Eric Karabell
  (11:50 AM)

I say Halladay. Has nothing to do with Phillies love. He's closer to returning and has more upside.

Nick (The 203)

FOOTBALL!! Do you see CJ2K as a top 10 RB this season?

Eric Karabell
  (11:51 AM)

No. Not even close. Too many carries early in his career.

Ricardo (El Paso)

ATTENTION EVERYONE: In case you don't know, Eric Karabell's job is to have opinions and to write about those opinions. It's a waste of all of our time if you crucify him for it. Please ask actual fantasy questions

Eric Karabell
  (11:51 AM)

I'm actually enjoying this, so don't stop!

Josh (Chicago)

Who steals more bases ROS: Leonys Martin or Marisnick?

Eric Karabell
  (11:52 AM)

Martin. Most rookies disappoint. Check out Rendon lately. Happens to all of them. Even Trout as a pure rookie.

Ricardo (El Paso)

Thoughts on Gomez' current slump? Braun suspension going to impact his R / RBI stats for ROS significantly?

Eric Karabell
  (11:53 AM)

No, I don't think losing Braun affects any Brewers. Lineup protection is a myth. Gomez was due for a fall, but he's still a big speed guy. I'd buy low, actually.

Pauly (DC)

Eric, answer my question. PLEASE, sir. Utley or Cespedes. Pick one for the second half.

Eric Karabell
  (11:53 AM)

Cespedes. More power potential. Neither is durable.

Jared (Charleston, SC)

Which Brave is do you want in a dynasty league, same keeper penalty--- Wood or Beachey?

Eric Karabell
  (11:53 AM)

Beachy. Major K guy.

Mike (NC)

Randall Cobb top 5 RB this year?

Eric Karabell
  (11:53 AM)

No, but could get there at WR.

Nick (The 203)

Wait wait! Not even close? You don't see the addition to Greene for short yardage (Maybe like Lendale White was back in the day) and upgrades and a healthy O-line don't give him a boost back up to 1,500+ yards?

Eric Karabell
  (11:54 AM)

No, I see Shonn Greene - and he stinks, btw - stealing regular carries, too. CJ is shot.

John (NJ)

Miguel Sano or Billy Hamilton in a keeper league?

Eric Karabell
  (11:55 AM)

Sano for sure. 30-homer third baseman. Hamilton can't hit, and if he can't get on base in the minors (.300 OBP this year) how can he do so in the big leagues? Run away.

Matt (Boise)

Do you think it's possible that Kipnis becomes the best fantasy 2B next year over Cano? What he lacks in HR he more than makes up in SB.

Eric Karabell
  (11:55 AM)

In my second round for 2014 drafts. But there's some reliability factor. Cano is safer. Avoids slumps better.

Don (Queens)

Please talk to me about Wily Peralta!! I do not get to see him play. Has his stuff improved??

Eric Karabell
  (11:56 AM)

Has stopped walking people, which has resulted in more strikeouts and fewer runs. Amazing concept!

Brian (NY)

Dee Gordon worth holding on to in a keeper league?

Eric Karabell
  (11:56 AM)

I think it's reasonable to expect he will never hit enough. Sad.

SS (HELP)

You really think I should drop Aybar for Villar?

Eric Karabell
  (11:57 AM)

I just think we've got 3-plus months of Aybar doing nothing. And generally a guy like that doesn't just turn it on the final 2 months. Villar is aggressive, talented, fast and wants to prove a point. He'll play well.

Ben (Toronto)

Hi Eric! When do you think Mike Olt will get a chance to come to the bigs and prove his disappointing start this year was all concussion-related and in the past?

Eric Karabell
  (11:58 AM)

I think the Cubs promote Olt in September, and he hits for power in 50 at-bats. And next year he hits around .250 over 550 at-bats with 25 home runs.I think he's legit.

Ben (Toronto)

Ike Davis. Just give up on him?

Eric Karabell
  (11:58 AM)

Sadly, yes.

SS (HELP)

FOLLOW UP: Aybar has been better of late and in a better lineup

Eric Karabell
  (11:58 AM)

Stop with the better lineup stuff. He's average at best and hitting 7th means nothing. Rather have a leadoff guy that runs.

Greg (Kansas)

Melky Cabrera worth an add in a 10-team?

Eric Karabell
  (11:59 AM)

Barely. But in 2 weeks I'll prob give up if he doesn't hit.

DAVE (PHILLY)

I think you need to personally apologize to the fans for BRAUN seeing that you were on his side since day 1.

Eric Karabell
  (11:59 AM)

I am not on his side. I'm objective. And nobody is a winner here...

Jake (FL)

What percentage of the carries will Wilson and Brown share in NY? 70-30?

Eric Karabell
  (11:59 AM)

Yeah, that's legit, but Brown is the touchdown guy. I see him scoring 10 times.

Sebastian (Philly)

ROS Lynn or D.Holland?

Eric Karabell
  (12:00 PM)

Lynn is overrated. Sorry. It's Holland.

Erik Karabell's CLEAR Conscience (Erik's Head)

Thanks, EK! I still love you.
