Ohm
  (12:00 PM)

Hey guys, been a hot second since we've chatted... hit me up! Happy Friday to all too!

kevin (nyc)

Ohm: How does Marvin Austin look with the pads on?

Ohm
  (12:01 PM)

Kevin, hard to say because we see him in limited third-team snaps but I'd say he has flashed a few times but needs to do work in the preseason games starting on Saturday. It's going to be an uphill grind for Marvin because Rogers has looked good and is going to make this team with Cullen, Linval and Hankins. That's four DTs already right there.

Chris (NY)

Do you think this Coughlin's final year?

Ohm
  (12:01 PM)

No. I think he's going to keep coaching barring something unforeseen.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Ohm! It's time for me to take a look at some fantasy football! I'm hearing good things about Randle and Myers. What round would you start looking at those two guys and what's their potential this year? Hattiesburg is great!

Ohm
  (12:04 PM)

Hi Rachel! How are you? I'd say Randle probably somewhere after Round 8 if you can... got to go by who's still left on the board at WR. Remember, Randle is a third WR who's biggest potential is that he could shine if Nicks or Cruz gets hurt. So I'd prefer in fantasy a guy who is a starter on another team and have Randle be a backup on my fantasy team or a handcuff for Nicks or Cruz. So I'd say you'd want to take Randle as your fourth WR in fantasy or lower. As for Myers... I'd wait till after Round 12 since tight ends, you can wait for. But once there's a run on tight ends, you can look for Myers. I'd say wait as long as you can.

Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)

When will we see Ryan Nassib as the Quarterback for the New York Giants?

Ohm
  (12:05 PM)

As THE Quarterback? Like maybe 5 or more years down the road. If you are talking about when you will see him play, it will be Saturday night as third or fourth string.

Pete (MI)

Sparty still sucks.

Ohm
  (12:05 PM)

LOL. Hope you had your fun in basketball. The big boys are back to rule March.

Davis (Boston)

I'm a cowboys fan, so I wanted to know will JPP be ready for week 1?

Ohm
  (12:06 PM)

Davis... LOL! Hard to say right now. All he's been doing is some light running on side during practice. Got to wait and see what happens the week before and if he's practicing. Jerry Reese expects him to be ready but JPP is making no promises. My guess, if he plays, it will be limited.

Rich (New Jersey)

Hi Ohm, Figuring the regulars play a couple of series in the first quarter, what would be the most interesting match-ups or players to watch for in the Giants-Steelers game on Saturday?

Ohm
  (12:08 PM)

Forget about matchups. Look at the individuals in certain position groups. Example: look at RB to see how Wilson and Brown do. Look at linebackers and I mean all of the first and second team linebackers. Look at how the defensive ends do on second and third team -- specifically Damontre Moore and Adrian Tracy. And look at the DTs on second and third team. Specifically Shaun Rogers, Hankins, Marvin Austin and Mike Patterson.

jim va.beach [via mobile]

Hey ohm. Which rookie is impressing the most so far? Glad your back. Thanks.

Ohm
  (12:09 PM)

Wud up Jim? How's the beach? I'd say keep an eye on Damontre Moore and Johnathan Hankins on Saturday night. People have been raving about them. Moore has shown some flashes of some nice moves.

Jordan (PA)

How healthy do you expect Bradshaw to be with the colts now

Ohm
  (12:10 PM)

I think the Colts and Bradshaw will probably take things slowly. I haven't been really keeping a close eye on the Colts but I think Bradshaw will probably take it slow and come game day, play hard as always.

Jeremy (NJ)

if eli lost those two super bowls, how differently do you think he'd (his on-field performance) be viewed by the fan base, ownership and management, and by the public?

Ohm
  (12:11 PM)

I think he'd be viewed much differently by those outside the fan base and ownership and management. Inside that group around the team and those who follow closely, they would probably still think he's a great quarterback but they might have some doubts. The outside public though would probably view Eli much differently in my opinion. But winning and winning two makes a MAJOR difference.

pj (midlo)

how do you see the RB position playing out for each of the NY teams. yardage/tds/receptions

Ohm
  (12:13 PM)

I'll speak just for the Giants since my colleague Rich Cimini knows a hell of a lot more about the Jets than I do. If you are asking for fantasy purposes, Wilson will be the starter. In my mind, I think he gets between 12-to-18 touches and Brown will get like maybe 10-to-18 touches and the goal line touches. With Wilson you're hoping that he breaks big plays and he gets hot. But this will be a timeshare. As for receptions, very hard to predict. I don't think either will be catching a ton of passes like in a Sproles type manner. But maybe 3-5 catches max. Giants would have to fall behind and defenses would have to take away the receivers and TE for them to dump the ball off a lot to the RB.

Ohm
  (12:14 PM)

Good questions today by the way guys.

Ben (Washington, DC)

Hey Ohm, thanks for taking my question. How has Wilson looked in pass protection thus far?

Ohm
  (12:15 PM)

Ben, wud up man? How's my hometown? Hard to say because it's not real full on tackling type practice. We will get a better indication in the preseason games. I think he's progressing. But I wonder if the team will ultimately trust Andre more in pass protection.

Ohm
  (12:15 PM)

Because of Andre's years in the system and his size.

Eric (Oradell, NJ)

What are your impressions of Hankins and Moore?

Ohm
  (12:16 PM)

I'll echo what Tuck said about the two: Hankins solid and more polished right now. But Damontre has some really nice moves and I like his potential. The fact that Hankins has been with the second team already should be telling. He's going to see time in big packages perhaps as a rookie. Damontre has a serious chance to see some snaps in defensive end rotation as maybe fourth or fifth DE when JPP gets back.

Ohm
  (12:16 PM)

Damontre's key to being active will be special teams as well.

Tyler (Troy)

How good can Reuben Randle be? Good enough for them to part ways with Nicks? And score prediction for Giants and Cowgirls? Awesome job by the way

Ohm
  (12:18 PM)

Thanks Tyler! Ok, you're putting me on the spot. LOL. First, Rueben can be good, and I think he could be a good enough replacement for Nicks, if Nicks left. I still think the Giants need to lock up Nicks, though. Randle can be good but we need to see him do it on a consistent basis in games. As for the prediction... I think I predicted Giants to win the opener when I had to predict the schedule when it came out. I'll say something like 34-30 Giants.

John(Cranbury, nj) [via mobile]

Ooooohhhm! I'm curious as to what happens with Nassib. TC isn't a guy who likes to keep 3 qb's on the roster, but you can't just put the guy out there to be claimed. Then if we have 3 qbs, it takes a roster spot from the plethora of linebackers vying for a job or from the secondary that seems to get banged up every year. Any early insight as to what happens?

Ohm
  (12:20 PM)

Hey John! Nassib isn't getting cut and I don't see practice squad. I think the Giants are going to keep three QBs. They need Carr behind Manning until Nassib is ready. Unless Nassib lights it up in the preseason, I think they keep three. Somebody good is going to get cut at DT for sure. I think they will have some depth at CB with McBride and Hosley to go with Web, Prince and Ross and then there's Thomas. But if one guy goes down they will need more. Cut day will be very interesting.

Pete (MD)

Giants will go 5-11 this year.

Ohm
  (12:20 PM)

I don't see that happening Pete. Giants always win around 9-10 games. LOL.

matt (nyc)

hey ohm wasssup man, who do u see the giants xfactor for this year will be?

Ohm
  (12:21 PM)

Matt... hard to say... as of now, very early, but I'd say Cullen Jenkins perhaps. Very versatile. They are using him at DT and DE.

Darrell (MD)

Does Cruz look sharp to you even though he missed a majority of the offseason workouts?

Ohm
  (12:21 PM)

Yes, he has had some drops in camp but he looks the same for the most part to me.

Tyler (Massapequa)

Haven't heard much about brewer and mccants , what's the deal with them?

Ohm
  (12:22 PM)

Brewer was getting snaps at RG for Snee and then got a head injury. McCants has been working down the depth chart. Mosley has been getting first-team reps at RG for Snee now with Brewer hurt.

Tyler (Massapequa)

Adrian Tracy X factor this year?

Ohm
  (12:22 PM)

Another good choice. Possible. He's in a battle with Damontre Moore for the fourth DE spot.

Rachel (Hattiesburg)

Second question, what type of role will Terrell Thomas have this year? I feel so bad for him, he is always hurt and I think he could be great.

Ohm
  (12:24 PM)

I think if healthy, he can play an extra DB role against slot or the fourth DB spot right behind Ross. If he's really healthy and keeps progressing he could play some third safety and extra DB and really be a factor if one of the starters go down. But let's take it slow with him for now. :)

Jordan (PA)

Who's the giants' #2 WR if nicks gets hurt

Ohm
  (12:24 PM)

Randle.

kevin (nyc)

Ohm Does Rueben Randle remind you of any particular receiver past or present?

Ohm
  (12:24 PM)

Not so much as far how they play physically but I do think he can do what Manningham did for the Giants if that makes sense.

kevin (nyc)

Ohm Can you give me an over/under on td's for Eli if I give you 30?

Ohm
  (12:25 PM)

He can definitely get 30 or more with the weapons he has but I am taking the under, just slightly. Maybe 28 or 29 TDs?

Chris (NY)

Is someone other than Wilson going to return kicks?

Ohm
  (12:26 PM)

I think the Giants will end up doing that. Maybe Jernigan?

Rich (New Jersey)

Hi, Will this year be the last year for some of the Giants offensive line since their all over 30 years old? And who'll think has the edge of starting linebacker this year?

Ohm
  (12:27 PM)

Yes, I think so. Could be last year for Diehl. Beatty is there to stay. Boothe is one one-year deal. Snee contemplates retirement every now and then too. I think the edge at the moment goes to Herzlich, Paysinger and Rivers. Jacquian is pushing behind them.

Kyle (Philly)

What is the thought process within the organization with regards to Hakeem Nicks' future? Can we expect Big Blue to lock up Hakeem long term at $10 million + or is this the final year for #88?

Ohm
  (12:27 PM)

They want to lock him up but at their price. He's going to likely play it out and up his value to make them pay more.

Kevin (Midtown)

Hey Ohm, who do you see as the odd man out for the DTs? Doesn't seem like the Giants will have room for all of them

Ohm
  (12:28 PM)

It's going to likely be between Marvin Austin, Mike Patterson and Markus Kuhn. Giants may only keep one of them perhaps.

Eric (New Jersey )

Hi Ohm! I recently saw a report saying that Jake Ballard could be on the bubble in New England. If he gets cut, do you think he could return to the Giants?

Ohm
  (12:28 PM)

Depends on his health. Giants like their tight ends right now with Myers, Pascoe, Robinson and Larry Donnell.

Luigi (NYC)

Hey OHM, Just read that Cruz is the 21st highest paid receiver in the league. Will this Giant friendly contract ease the ability to sign both Nicks and JPP this year?

Ohm
  (12:29 PM)

That's the goal to get Nicks after this season and then eventually lock up JPP.

Davis (Boston)

What did you think of the Football on your phone commercial?

Ohm
  (12:29 PM)

It's the bomb.

Kevin (Midtown)

How does Aaron Curry look so far in camp?

Ohm
  (12:29 PM)

Not bad. Looking forward to seeing him on Saturday night.

PJ (NJ)

Hi Ohm - do you think Kuhn stays on the PUP for the first six weeks of the season so they can keep an extra DL for a few weeks?

Ohm
  (12:30 PM)

Very possible.

Kevin (Midtown)

Do you think Adrien Robinson will play a significant role this season?

Ohm
  (12:30 PM)

Not significant but I think he can definitely play himself into a role. He will need an injury to Myers or Pascoe to have significant role.

Luigi (NYC)

How has Prince looked so far in camp? is this the year he finally becomes the shut-down corner he was projected to be coming out of college?

Ohm
  (12:30 PM)

Very solid. On the rise. Not ready to say lockdown corner yet.

Ohm
  (12:31 PM)

Alright guys, that was a good round of questions man! See you all next week and have a great weekend!
