Good morning, gang! We've got 60 minutes of fantasy chattage ahead, so let's get to it, shall we? Second cup of coffee in hand... call it in the air!
Bears D still top 10 play?
Will have to depend on the matchup, but if the offense ends up not moving the ball sans Cutler, there could be too many short fields against them going forward.
Hey AJ in a PPR league who gets the start H. Douglas or L. Bell? Than
Not that Harry will continue to do what he did last week on a regular basis, but I certainly think you have to start him until further notice.
Brady or Pryor? Yes, I asked it...burned by Brady too many times now. Know that Pryor has tough matchup but does his ability to run make him my starter this week? Thanks for the chats and advice!!
I see your point, but with Gronk back and likely Amendola, too, I have to give Brady benefit of the doubt here.
Tails! Does the news of Murray probable for Sunday relegate Randle as useless?
There's a long way to go still and "expecting him to play" doesn't read as strongly as "will absolutely be starting" -- don't think we know just yet.
AJ, just grabbed Antonio Gates off waiver wire and I have Graham, is it time to sell high on Graham? Targets for trade?
You're not selling high on Graham -- given the injury, you may not get nearly as much as you would have two weeks ago.
Was just offered Chris Johnson for Justin Blackmon. Fair Deal?
Certainly your needs are going to dictate here. If you are desperate for an RB and Blackmon would otherwise be on your bench, you might consider the trade. Otherwise, perhaps not. Fairness is always in "eye of the beholder."
Start Rueben Randle or Cecil Shorts this week?
I'd lean Randle, simply due to the matchup.
A trade of Nick Novak for Jacquizz Rodgers was accepted in our 14 team league. Is this considered a veto-able trade?
With Jackson due back, Rodgers owner might be thinking he has no future value. If he also has his own kicker on a bye, I can understand why the deal was made.
Hi AJ, who sounds like a better WR2 this week? Michael Floyd, Julian Edelman or Emmanuel Sanders?
Don't love Floyd. Toss-up between the other two, and I likely lean to Edelman by a slight margin.
Best flex play this week ( byes are hitting me hard ) - MJD or Stevie Johnson?
Going to go with MJD. Yes, this is a week where bench depth is to be tested for sure.
The new guy on the scene is Mike James. What is your thoughts on him and would you start him at Flex over Josh Gordon?
I'd be thrilled with 60 yards from him this week, so that's kind of where I stand on him.
This week and ROS: RG3 or Cam?
RG III on both counts.
What order would you start: Macgahee, Ivory, M.James or Joique Bell?
James, Joique, Ivory, Willis
Flex for this week: Lacy or Randle?
It was Lacy before chance that Murray would suit up. Even more clear a pick now.
D Will or DMC in PPR?
DMC gets the nod for me.
If Graham sits, best replacement amongst Clay, Celek, Gresham, Housler, or Watson?
I'd go with Clay first and Housler second.
Kenny stills or lance Moore ppr?
Go Stills and hope for a deep connection to click. Moore may have one or two 100-yard games the rest of the way, but could have six goose eggs, too.
Do you see Tavon Austin getting more involved? What has lead to his challenges this year?
Short routes and the dropsies -- a deadly combo. With Sam done, totally droppable in all non-keepers.
vick projections seem a little wildly optomistic this week...at any rate, owning brady is so frustrating: vick or brady for this week?
Giants defense hasn't exactly been formidable this season... Vick's injury history is the X factor here, but if he can finish the game, the upside is huge.
What do you think of "loaner trades" to help a couple teams through some bye weeks? Against the rules? Immoral?
If not expressly forbidden in the rules, there's nothing wrong with them. I've always tried to put rules in place that prevent any two teams from trading the same player between them more than once -- but with no such restriction, you have to allow it.
Fleener on bye. Fauria,Housler,Eifert,Celek? ugh
Housler first, Fauria second.
Can Amendola be a top 10 WR with Gronk back?
Sure he could. It's not like two receivers on the same team can't help each other by splitting defensive focus. With Danny, it's surviving for 60 minutes that's the bigger cause for concern.
Is Adrian Peterson more injured then they are letting on?
Anything is possible, but if you're expecting me to have some sort of mind-reading power, you've come to the wrong place.
Re: Loaner trades - the exact kind of collusion that should be a condition precedent for a veto - and arguably the only grounds for a veto - is implicit in loaner trades. "I will trade this person to you regardless of the value I receive in return with the understanding that you will trade this person back to me, also not for the player's actual value."
I don't disagree, but a) if the "value in return" is that the same owner will be on the other end of a similar loan deal, then it's not the same thing - and b) if there's no enforcement of the "return trade" should there be a welching, then there's technically no collusion before the fact.
Matt Ryan or Eli Manning this week?
As much as Eli *should* be able to post huge numbers on Philly, do I trust him to do so? No, not really.
If Brett Favre returned to play for SL he would be a top ____ QB ROS
Mac, shall I rank Unitas, too? I get that it's fantasy, but there's a limit.
Gotta have two this week in a PPR League.. what do you think... Garcon, Gore, V Jax?
Sitting Vincent. (Great name for an up-and-coming band, no?)
PPR league ROS: Fitzgerald or Boldin?
I'd go with Fitzgerald. Cards gonna throw.
PPR; Reed or Colston at flex?
I'm leaning to Reed on this one.
In anticipation of Halloween, here's a scary one for you, AJ: trouble at the FLEX this week (.5 ppr)...Peyton Hillis, Robert Woods, Lance Moore or Willis McGahee? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'd actually choose Hillis here, given that Jacobs is unlikely to play.
Ellington or Lamar Miller? PPR
Comes down to TD or not here. Overall, I think I'd trust Ellington more.
If Mendy can't go does Alfonso Smith really carry the 1st and 2nd down load? And does that make him flex worthy?
Haven't seen anything that makes me think Mendenhall absolutely won't go... but no, Smith would not get any flex consideration should events unfold that way.
Do you have any sleeper TE's to stream for this week? I have Bennett on a bye. Thanks
Are there any sleepers out there still? I like Reed and Cumberland of the non-usual top names.
BOO! Now that I've got your attention, which one of the following should I add: Ben Tate, Andre Brown, Jonathan Stewart or David Wilson?
Brown would be my choice.
What makes you pick Housler over some of the other comps for TE-desperate owners?
At that level of the talent pool, there's not a lot of reason to pick anyone over any other -- but Cardinals tend to be behind and have to throw and he did reel in 7 against Seattle. Targeting trends typically tip the scales.
Do I drop Bowe or E. Sanders for Andre Brown?
Maybe Sanders, if you have a solid WR corps. Not Bowe.
How am I a sleeper? Did you watch any games the last few weeks?
He's only 48.4 percent owned -- and that's UP 44 percent from last week. I think that puts him in the category.
Ivory is on the waiver wire. Who would you drop of Dunbar, Randle and B. Brown to pick him up?
I'd drop Dunbar.
Hey AJ. Do you feel it is safe and smart to drop Doug Martin in a 10-team league if you need the roster space?
I'd much rather try and deal him for something.
Who is the better flex play, Boykin or Le'Veon?
He went to Jarrett.
At what point do you start Brandon Jacobs (assuming he plays) at flex over a WR? Durham, Kerley? When would you start Ogbannaya at flex over WR?
At none point. Start Kris.
Given that both are dinged up, who would you rather start at flex this week, CJ Spiller or SJax?
Spiller seems safer to me.
Saints D a good play this week? I also have Broncos
NO D/ST is a strong play this week, yes.
Which one between Rob Gronkowski and Julius Thomas is the right one to trade if you own both?
Whichever deal leaves you stronger after it's done. Assuming no injuries, Gronk is worth more -- but the fear of injury might net you less in return -- or not. Never go into a deal assuming anything. See what the market will bear and then decide accordingly.
Who ya got to cut down the nets in college bball this year?
Always need to wait until at least you've seen the top teams play a few games. But I like the odds of an ACC winner.
Flex: Stacy, Ellington, Helu?
Andre for me.
BUZZER BEATER!! S. Jackson or P. Thomas at flex? Non PPR
Pierre for me. I've heard tell Jackson is not all that convinced his hamstring is solid. That alone scares me off enough here.
Helu or Nicks at FLEX?
Who would you rather start as a FLEX here in Wk8-- Mike James OR Roy Helu? NonPPR. Thanks AJ!
James in a non-PPR. Helu in PPR.
That's all the time for today, gang! As always, we appreciate the questions. I'm on Twitter when I can be (@ajmass) and will try to answer those I missed here, there. Until the next time, as always, good luck and may the odds be EVER in your favor!
