Gennady is here!

Ragan (NYC)

Do you get nervous before a fight?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:30 AM)

I am confident. I prepared well. I don't get nervous before a fight.

Erik (Denver)

what do you think is your advantage in the ring?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:31 AM)

My power and my speed. My experience. I think those will be my advantage.

Kevin (NJ)

Curtis has been running his mouth. Does it bother you that he is talking so much?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:32 AM)

It's all talk. That's all he does. Talk. Talk. Talk. It doesn't bother me. When we get in the ring, it's just me and him.

Petr (DC)

did you watch a lot of curtis' previous fights?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:32 AM)

I watched just a little bit of his last fight and the one before that. That's it.

Rocky (New York)

How has NY treated you? Did you have fun at the Knicks game?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:33 AM)

I love coming to New York. It's great to come here. It will always be very good. I had a terrific time at the Knicks game.

james (portland, me)

Do you go looking for a KO every time out, or do you just stay patient and if it comes, it comes?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:34 AM)

I don't look for a knockout. If it comes, it comes. I go with the fight. I trust my power.

Evan (ATL)

Your fight is on HBO which has a worldwide audience...do you like being fighting on HBO and that fans all across the world can watch you?

Gennady Golovkin

Madeline (New Jersey)

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:35 AM)

Kerry (Chicago)

Which boxers did you watch growing up?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:36 AM)

Ryan (Los Angeles)

Curtis likes to punch too, do you think you can take his punches?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:37 AM)

Yes. But we will find out for sure on Saturday night.

Greg (Boston)

What will you do on Saturday to get ready for the fight?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:37 AM)

Just relax. Just relax. Nothing special.

james (portland, me)

Huge fan Gennady! What do you see in Curtis Stevens that you're hoping to exploit Saturday night?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:38 AM)

We will see on Saturday. But I am prepared to fight well.

Jason (Boston)

What sports do you like?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:38 AM)

I'm into soccer. That's really it.

Jeff (NYC)

How much running do you do/

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:39 AM)

We run every morning, maybe 3-4 miles per day.

Ryan (FL)

how much time have you spent in NYC leading up to the fight?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:40 AM)

We got here late Tuesday afternoon.

Ron (Tucson) [via mobile]

GGG. Why do fighters consistently fail to press the action with Floyd Mayweather? What would be your strategy?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:41 AM)

When we get the fight, then I will have the strategy to face him.

kyle (VA) [via mobile]

what is your diet like during camp?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:41 AM)

No special diet. I eat anything I want. I especially like steak.

William (Atlanta)

Do you think Stevens will be your toughest test as a pro so far?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:42 AM)

Ask me after the fight.

Vinnie (NYC)

Hey Gennady, I saw you at the media workout yesterday! Your confidence and preparation were on display. Can you share more about what kind of weight training you, if any?

  (10:43 AM)

Yes, it's part of our regular training.

Yes. My brother works my corner.

Scott (Raleigh)

Gennady, thanks for the chat. Do you really think you can fight 4-5 times again next year? Would be great for us fans!

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:44 AM)

Yes. I like to fight that many times, depending on the scheduling of the fights. Yes.

Vinnie (NYC)

What is your favorite post-fight meal?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:44 AM)

A big steak.

Chris (NYC)

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:45 AM)

Right now, yes. Absolutely.

GGG (Montreal)

At what age you start boxing and why ?

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:45 AM)

I went to the gym for the first time as a young boy. Maybe 10.

Gennady Golovkin
  (10:46 AM)

Thank you for your support. Tune in. Enjoy the fight!

Buzzmaster
  (10:46 AM)

Thanks for chatting Gennady!

Buzzmaster
  (10:46 AM)

Next up is Curtis Stevens at 11 a.m. ET!

Buzzmaster
  (10:59 AM)

Curtis is here!

Will (CA)

How excited are you to fight in NYC?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:00 AM)

It's exciting. I've fought here before. But there's more excitement.

Kevin (NYC)

Curtis....where is the coffin stored right now?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:01 AM)

It's close by. It's already in New York.

Larry (Miami)

what do you plan on exploiting in the ring?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:01 AM)

You have to tune in on Saturday. I'll just go in and fight my fight.

Anthony (VA)

What do you feel seconds before you enter the ring for a fight? While your walking to the ring?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:02 AM)

Before, when I was a young pro. I'd have a little nerves. My heart beat fast. Now it's just normal. Just like me waking up and walking around.

Jeff (NYC)

Gennady punches as hard as you do....how do you counter that power?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:02 AM)

I don't think he punches as hard as me. You can't counter power. You just have to fight. You can fight power with power. But you have to have will, if he punches as hard as me, but I doubt it.

Ben (Detroit)

Should I bet on you to KO him?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:03 AM)

You can bet for a win. I won't say too much about a KO. I'm not going in there looking for a KO. If it comes, it comes.

Ed K (AC)

Who's your favorite boxer of all time?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:03 AM)

Hagler.

james (portland, me)

what other sports do you follow?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:03 AM)

I like football. I like to watch tennis for some reason.

5thAvePhil (Bronx, Ny)

What weight would you fight at to get the Mayweather fight?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:04 AM)

I believe it would have to be under his rules, because he's the cash cows. He'd set the weight and the standards. But who would care? If I had to get down to 139, who cares?

Ben (Detroit)

What is the best exercise to increase punching power? Or is it all god-given?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:05 AM)

My power is a god-given gift, but I don't concentrate too much on power. I try to build more muscle. But I like to work on speed. With speed comes power. I don't work too much on power.

Terry (Tigard, OR)

Good luck in the fight. I suspect Gennady may be vulnerable to the body. Any plans to attack the body during the fight?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:05 AM)

I plan on beating him everywhere on his body.

Jeff (MN)

what has training camp been like?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:06 AM)

We worked on more cardio and speed. And we sparred a whole lot more.

JoJo (Bronx)

Which opponent has hit you the hardest?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:07 AM)

I don't know. I haven't really been hit that hard, a shot that I didn't see coming. I've been down and those shots shook me a little bit. I don't know.

Chris (NY)

what's it like fighting in MSG?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:07 AM)

It's cool. I've fought there before. It's exciting.

Ben (Detroit)

What fighter do you have a similar style to?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:08 AM)

Hagler. He's a boxer-puncher. Roberto Duran. And Tyson.

David (LA)

any words of advice you've lived by in preparation for this fight?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:09 AM)

Advice is cool. But I get myself ready. Larry Holmes told me to go in there to use my jab and stay focused.

Eric (Virginia )

how do you stay in focused for such a long fight?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:10 AM)

Just stay calm. If the fight goes longer than expected, you stay calm and focused. You train to go 12 rounds. Stay focused. Adapt to the fight at hand.

Jason (North Carolina)

How long are your training camps?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:10 AM)

About 8 weeks.

Brian (Miami)

what's the worst part about camp?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:11 AM)

Going between the gym and house. When you first start, it's cool and you're excited, but the last two weeks, you've peaked already and you have to keep going. When you know fight week is about to come up, you just want to go home and lay in bed. You just want to go to the gym and get it over with.

Dempsey (Wisconsin)

Do you think this fight will go past 6 rounds? and newww...

Curtis Stevens
  (11:11 AM)

I say that too, but you never know how that might turn out.

James (VA)

do you think your talking is getting under his skin?

Curtis Stevens
  (11:12 AM)

That's what I do, I talk. If it impacts him mentally, so be it. This is just the way I am. I can't change that.

Curtis Stevens
  (11:13 AM)

Tune in on Saturday. I'm ready.

Buzzmaster
  (11:15 AM)

Thanks to Gennady and Curtis for chatting! They'll enter the ring Saturday in New York City!
