Good afternoon! Let's talk some football!
What round will the Jets draft a quarterback in May?
It probably won't be the first round, as Todd McShay's most recent mock draft has them taking Marqise Lee (http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/mock/?season=2014&source=todd-mcshay-mock-draft
That QB could be Michael Vick.
Browns are getting new unis in 2015 according to the prez. I don't want a dramatic change. What do you think?
Keep the helmets as is. They have the kind of classic look the NFL and the Browns should be celebrating. Don't go for a quick buck with a new helmet look - make more money in that arena by fielding a winning team. Cleveland fans will buy a ton of swag once the team starts winning again.
Hi, With the Jets set on Geno Smith as their starting QB, will they go after Michael Vick, an established quarerback so Geno can learn & improve or do they stay with Mark Sanchez and take their chances in 2014 ?
Odds are they won't stay with Sanchez. They very well may sign Vick, although that's a high-risk proposition.
Which would you choose, can?t keep both. 10 team PPR league. Keep C Patterson in the 12th rd and pick up an extra 4th rd pick or keep Crabtree in the 12th rd and pick up an extra 6th rd pick?
Crabtree. Patterson may have some vertical upside over Crabtree but not enough to offset the six round price difference.
KC, Do you see the Giants going after Evan Dietrich-Smith to anchor the middle of the line and kicking Baas to the curb? D-S obviously has experience in GB offsense McAdoo came from
Good call. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Giants go after a number of McAdoo's former GB players.
Hello KC, would Ben Tate or Rashad Jennings be a good FA target for the Dolphins?
Would take Tate over Jennings but it's not a slam dunk. Both have similar skill sets. Just think Tate has more upside.
KC, if the Redskins sign Branden Albert, will he or Trent Williams move to Right Tackle?
Guess would be that Williams would move. Either way, it would be a very good OT combination.
Hey KC, could Jared Veldheer or Anthony Collins be better value as FA than Albert?
Veldheer is coming off of an injury campaign, but Collins hasn't been a regular starter. Would probably go with Veldheer - he dominated once he returned from that injury.
Colin Kaepernick has been linked to claims that he will be seeking an average of 20m/season if he plays out the final year of 2014. Is Kaep worth that?
No, but the Niners may end up having to pay somewhere close to that price.
more likely Bears retain Tillman or Melton? is either likely?
Tillman doesn't look likely. Melton is an impact player at a position the Bears need as many impact players as possible, so he looks to be the more likely of the two to stay.
The Packers have dedicated the last two drafts to defense, and the results were less then acceptable. With $35mil in available cap space, and Rodgers and Matthews locked up, is now the time for them to spend? If so, who are some wise free agent targets?
I took a look at this very subject for the ESPN Insider offseason blueprints. The GB version (which can be found here - http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10513238/2014-nfl-offseason-green-bay-packers-projected-lineup-cap-situation-free-agent-draft-targets) had Shaun Phillips as one player they should pursue in FA.

It seems almost a certainty the Packers will bring in a new Safety this year. Would you sign Jarius Byrd, TJ Ward, or another UFA, or draft Calvin Pryor or Ha Ha Clinton-Dix?
It's likely Pryor and Clinton-Dix will be gone by the time the Packers are on the clock. GB's high powered offense means they have to be prepared to stop other teams from trying to turn games into shootouts, so a ball hawk like Byrd would be the way to go.
Do you envision Gio as 1) feature back 2) lead back in a time share 3) 50-50 RBBC
Lead in a lead/alternate. He may not have quite enough durability to be a bell cow feature back but he'll be darn close workload-wise.
If you're the Bears and you have to overpay a guy, who ya taking between Jairus Byrd or Michael Bennett?
Byrd. Part of the FA reviews I did for those Insider blueprints took a look at Bennett. Nutshell is his production doesn't match his reputation and it therefore would be a mistake to overpay for him.
I'm surprised to hear that Denver cut Champ Bailey without asking him to renegotiate. When healthy last season, did you see any of pre 2013 Champ in the film you reviewed?
I saw a player who should be moved to safety. He's got some tread left on his tires - it just isn't at CB. Could be he didn't want to renegotiate (or at least accept their financial terms on renegotiation) and wanted to test the market. Got to hope some other team makes an offer and then Denver matches it, as he still has a lot to offer a Broncos club that needs depth in its secondary.
Yo Sci! With Stl and Sf poised to pounce on this epic draft class I find myself starting to wonder how good the NFC West is going to be. Niners have Latt and Tank coming in this year as well. Az was surging last season and have Cooper back. Sf looked like the only team that could compete with Seattle, who now have a healthy Harvin. How good is this divison? The defenses alone. I'm trying to think when the last time a single division was this good...
Yo! Might have to go back to the old NFC East days to find a division this good. Trouble is this could be a situation where the two best WC teams don't make the playoffs because of losses in the division.
Hi KC, What do you think about Giants OT Will Beatty? Is he a vialble starter? They just extended him, can he play another position? Do you think they should look to replace him?
Just broke down some Giants tape a couple of days ago. Not sold on Beatty as an upper-tier player but he's starter caliber. He's a short-term solution, in other words.
Hey, hate to cut it short but I've got to hit the road. Quick note before heading out - links to the TFS ESPN Insider articles are always posted on Twitter @KCJoynerTFS. Thanks for the questions and I hope to see you all here next week!
