We've got Marcus!

Scott (SD)

Die-hard fan here in South Dakota, Marcus. It's cold here. COLD. How is the knee holding up? Toughest part - physical rehab or mental rehab?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:00 PM)

The knee is holding up great. It feels good. It's felt better than I have before. The past few months, I haven't had any swelling or anything. The mental part is the hardest. You have to overcome the state of mind where you know the knee is fine, but it doesn't feel the same. Definitely the mental.

Ed (Queens Village)

You got to visit Pro Football HOF last year. What was experience like?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:01 PM)

It was awesome. My dad always talked about Marcus Allen and Walter Payton. I got to see them in there and send a picture to my dad. It's been a dream of mine. That's my goal. There are only a select few in there. I want to be one of them.

Dave (DC)

How important has nutrition been in your recovery? what's your diet like?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:02 PM)

That's been the biggest part, I feel like. After the second injury, I knew I had to change up everything, if I wanted to come back from one of the worst injuries ever. I cut out the fast foods. I had a chance to work with EAS. I went to Pensecola and was introduced to the protein shakes, the recovery shakes. It just improved my mood. I felt great after using them.

Have you set any amount of rushing yards you want to get this upcoming seaso.

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:03 PM)

I haven't set a certain number, but I plan on getting in there. Getting some TDs. Some 100 yard games. Whatever I can do to help the team. I plan on going out there and proving myself. It's going to be fun.

Zach Hardison (Owensboro, Ky)

Hi Marcus, I know what its like to have devastating knee injurie and Im a lifelong 49ers fan. I was a big fan of the pick when we took you in the draft. Do you have any new types of workouts or dietary changes to help make future injuries less likely?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:04 PM)

Definitely. Before the injuries, I never really knew too much about the body. I learned so much these past two years about the body. Strengthening your core is your main foundation. Then you branch out. And you need strong ankles. Every day I do something with my core. And my ankles. Making sure you have the right foundation. I've worked on that these last two years and it's paid a big difference.

Alex (CA)

What's it like signing your first endorsement deal with EAS? Is that a moment where it sinks in that you're a pro athlete - signing deals like that?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:05 PM)

It was pretty cool. It was. That was my first one. Just to get that deal was awesome, because they helped me out a lot. I got to use their other products. I'm just grateful to be in that position. I know other guys would kill to be in this position. I won't take it for granted.

BlueMonday (San Jose, CA)

How well do know the 49ers playbook by now? Are you ready to play fast by the time training camp start?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:06 PM)

It took me a while to learn the playbook. I got a chance to be around one of the greats to play the game in Frank Gore. I got to see how they study. It's a long season and the playbook changes every week. Once we got into the season, it was easier to know what was going on each week. I feel like I know it as good as I can right now. I'll definitley be ready for traning camp.

Lattimore what has been your inspiration during your time of recovery?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:07 PM)

Realizing that how many kids are watching. Realizing that I can help somebody else. Of course it's helpful to know Frank Gore and Willis McGahee and the guys that have been through it before. They've helped. Of course my family and friends, they've picked me up and given me the strength to continue on. All of the fans across the nation have supported me. It's heart warming.

Evan (York, SC)

Marcus, you never got to compete in the combine/pro day. If you did, what do you think your numbers would have been like? In the 40, vertical, bench press. Thanks and good luck this season!

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:08 PM)

Haha...I would predict about a 4.5 and did about 20 reps on the bench.

Jimmy hughes [via mobile]

What role do you anticipate coming into the new football season, and are you 100% healthy?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:09 PM)

I have no clue about my role. I plan on playing a lot. I just have to go in there and work hard and play whatever hand is dealt. I will play whatever role I can. I want to score some TDs and rush for some yards. But it's out of my hands. It's in God's hands. I can only work hard.

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:10 PM)

He called me right after I got hurt the second time. Asked me how my mind was and my heart was. Told me to never give up. That was a message that really stuck. A lot of people will doubt you. He's helped me so much. He doesn't even need to say anything. Just watching him work. I have hope. With hope, I feel like I can do anything. He's given me hope. He's the man. He's an awesome guy.

Will (Columbia, SC)

How much are you looking forward to the day you and Clowney line up opposite each other in the big league for the first time?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:11 PM)

Well, I hope I don't have to block him. If I have to block him, I'm going to cut him. I know the whole state of South Carolina will be watching. I'll have to put on a show for that one.

Tristan A (San Francisco, CA)

Marcus, have you seen the new stadium? Are you excited to take the next step in your career at a brand new place?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:11 PM)

Yes, I've seen it. It's awesome. Definitely excited. I hope to break it in. It's going to be fun, man. I can't wait.

Tristan A (San Francisco, CA)

Are you taking this year like your rookie year?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:12 PM)

Without a question. I've done nothing on the field. I have to come in and work. This is my rookie season. Work hard. Put my head down. Go into those preseason games and show my talent. I can't wait. It's coming up.

Jerry S. El Paso, TX [via mobile]

I'm so excited to see you back on the field. I have been praying for your health and a God sped recovery. As a Pastor, I would like to know how you used your faith to overcome this trial in your life?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:14 PM)

Wow. Right before the first injury, a couple of months before I was saved and not knowing what was going to happen, I just kept my faith. I put my life in Christ and put it in his hands. I knew no matter what, it didn't matter. I was going through some things, but my faith really pulled me through it. It was the only thing. I will never lose that, no matter what. Even if I never play another snap, I know it's His plan, not my plan.

Bingo_Kingo (Dirt Road, OR)

Who were your favorite RBs when you were a little guy?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:15 PM)

When I was growing up, I really didn't get into football in the ninth grade. Frank Gore. LaDainian Tomlinson.

Robert (Baltimore)

What are your immediate feelings about going up against the seahawks?

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:15 PM)

Great team. Great defense. Great offense. We have to bring our A game against those guys. It's a dog fight. Those are the games you want to play in. You live for games like that. The crowd's going crazy. The excitement.

Marcus Lattimore
  (12:16 PM)

Thank you guys. I appreciate all of the support. I'm a guy that's going to give 110 percent all of the time. That's what you can look forward to. I'm going to go out there and help the team win.
