We've got Trevor!

Scott W. (Archer, FL)

Trevor do you feel the pressure of taking on the #6 since it is such a significant number at Roush Fenway Racing?

Trevor Bayne
  (1:57 PM)

I feel like I've dealt with pressure with numbers, driving the No. 21 car the last few years. So I feel like I've dealt with that pressure already.

Brad (Crossville, TN)

Congrats on the step up to cup. What are your expectations in your first full year in the top series? With the new points system, I can see you adding another Ford to the championship battle.

Trevor Bayne
  (1:58 PM)

Our expectations are to go out and be competitive. Get some top 10s. Get some experience running full time. Being part time the last few years, there are some tracks that I haven't been to. Top 10s, seat time and learning new tracks.

Jeff (DC)

what's the best part about working with students in this auto skills competition?

Trevor Bayne
  (1:58 PM)

It's cool to see how many high schoolers still have an interest in working on cars. The winning team gets to come work with us. It's really cool to see them working on cars.

James (Rochester, NY)

What are some of the challenges for you when you race a Nationwide and Sprint Cup car in the same weekend?

Trevor Bayne
  (1:59 PM)

The challenges are going back and forth from qualifying and practice. It's hard because the cars are completely different. You jump out of one and into the other.

Kaitlynn Cosmo Harris (Iowa City, IA)

Do you have a favorite track that you enjoy to go to more than the rest?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:00 PM)

I think Homestead is becoming my favorite. It used to be Bristol, but now it's Homestead. I like racing against the wall there.

Andrew (LebanonOH)

coming into your rookie season already a winner and of the biggest race on the schedule, do you think that changes your outlook and confidence? You have already won a race that several legends never did, surely you have to feel good about that!

Trevor Bayne
  (2:00 PM)

It definitely helps our confidence, knowing we can win at that level. But it doesn't make it easier.

Nick (St. Louis)

So excited to see you make the jump to cup Trevor!!! My question is will Roush let you do a couple races in the 6 car later this year, or will you continue to run in the 21 as planned?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:01 PM)

We'll continue with the 21 schedule as planned, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some races added with another car.

James Piccarreto (Rochester, NY)

How do you feel about bringing #6 back to the Sprint Cup series?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:02 PM)

It's pretty special that Jack wants to bring that 6 car back with me. But it's also cool that we have a full season sponsor. It doesn't happen much anymore that you get a full season sponsor in Cup.

Brian (Milford. MI)

Trevor do you think you are on par with Cup drivers as far as relating information to the crew chief or will that take some time as your career progresses?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:03 PM)

I think running full time will help that. It's hard when you only race Cup once a month, to know what you need. I see a big improvement in that.

Ashley Hobbs (Winter Park, FL)

Hey Trevor! Great news on you (finally) coming up to Cup!!! I look forward to watching you grow in Cup as I have in NNS. What are you looking forward to the most about moving from NNS to Cup full time, and what scares you the most about making the move? Continue being awesome and who you are!

Trevor Bayne
  (2:04 PM)

It's finally getting to do what I have always wanted to do and that's to race at the top level of motorsports. It's always been my dream.

Trevor Bayne
  (2:04 PM)

Scared? What's scared? I really don't know. There isn't much I'm scared about in running full time.

Jason (Philly)

would you have liked a program like this student competition when you were in school?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:05 PM)

I would have loved it, but I don't know how great I would have been on street cars. I was good with the mechanics, but everything is all computerized now. I would have shocked myself or something.

James (Rochester, NY)

What have you learned from your Nationwide experience that will help you in the Sprint Cup series?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:05 PM)

I think it's just running on the same tracks. I feel like I've gotten to know the tracks a lot in the last 5 years.

Niall (Union County, NC)

Do you think that Roush Fenway will start to win more consistently or do you expect the organization to continue struggling to get to the front.

Trevor Bayne
  (2:06 PM)

The more cars on the track the better. Adding another team, that's how I can help.

Brian (Milford, MI)

One of my most exciting times watching the Daytona 500 included you trying to find your way to the winners circle. Could you, once again I am sure, describe that day? That secured you for me as one of "my drivers" - thank you.

Trevor Bayne
  (2:07 PM)

I barely remember that day. It's like a wedding, everything happens so fast and it's a shock. I remember the aftermath and how great it was. It's definitely a special part of my career.

LB (NY)

Best of luck in the No. 6 next year. Will you be officially a "rookie" even with your Cup experience so far?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:08 PM)

I think my experience will be huge, despite being a rookie. I feel like I'm not starting out from scratch. I have the experience and know what to expect.

Cody (Space Coast Fl. )

Hey Trevor! My family met you at Daytona, and you were great with the fans. Keep up the great work with the fans. Who has been the biggest encouragement to you outside of racing and in the garage?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:09 PM)

The biggest encouragement? Wow...my parents and my wife have been big encouragements. And all of the people that have spoken to me in my life about my Christianity have kept me focused through it all.

Matt_33FL Tampa, FL [via mobile]

Congrats on your promotion to full-time for next year! Is there anyone that you are either lobbying for or hoping to see get the Wood Brothers ride for '15?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:10 PM)

I have some great friends that drive, but I'm not sure what they're going to do. I'm sure Ford will have a big say in what happens there.

Gary (LA)

how excited are the kids to work with you?

Trevor Bayne
  (2:10 PM)

They're really pumped. It's the opportunity of a life time to work with a NASCAR team and go to a race and be there as more than just a fan.

Trevor Bayne
  (2:11 PM)

Thanks for checking out the chat. I appreciate your support!
