Welcome to The Show! ESPN The Mag's Seth Wickersham will be here at 4 ET to take your NFL questions. Send 'em in now. We'll hold them 'til Seth gets here.
Good afternoon, everyone. Let's get to the quesitons.
Oh yeah, and I promise I'll spell questions right the rest of the way.
Im a huge Minnesota Vikings fan. I think that them trading Randy Moss was a very idiotic thing to do. They traded there best player and the leagues best reciever and got nothing in return. Do you think the Randy Moss trade will make the Minnesota Vikings a better team? Do you think he can carry the Oakland Raiders to the playoff and possibly even a championship?
The Vikings offense is worse without Randy Moss. No question -- see I spelled it right -- about it. I don't think Minnesota should have been in such a rush to deal him. A better offer may have come through. As it stands, I think now the Raiders have about as good a starting receivers as there are in the league. Playoffs? I think that is a reach.
Does the hiring of Drew Rosenhaus increase the chance that Edgerrin James will not be with the Colts next season?
I think so. Glancing at what he was able to do with Portis last year, and judging by how the Colts locked up James' backups, I wouldn't be surprised if James was dealt.
Seth, What are the Falcons doing? I here that they are more concerned with defensive backs than wide receivers. I agree that it is a concern but in my opinion, we need a true number 1 wide receiver.
Why? Vick doesn't really look for his WRs anyway. I think Atlanta needs some touching up on defense, some low-cost depth at WR, and someone dragging Vick into the film room every day this offseason. He's got an offense to master, and judging by his passing numbers late last year, he has a way to go.
are the Lions really going to sign Garcia and Rivera??? Why not go after Derek Mason??
I think Garcia, when it's all said and done, will wind up there. The last thing the Lions need are more expensive WRs.
Is it that bad for Clarett? If he runs a solid 40 in is indivudual workouts will that not put him right back in? You can't take away what he did as a freshman at OSU.
Yes you can take it away, and most teams will. It's been 26 months since he played a game. Since then, there more question marks surrounding his character, and he's gotten slower. His pro day is it for him. I'm not saying he won't be drafted, but he hasn't helped himself for more than two years.
Where do you see the Titans leaning toward with the 6th overall pick?
If a QB slides down I think they'll take him. Otherwise, defense.
What do you see the 49'ers doing with the first draft pick?
Try like hell to trade it, fail, and wind up talking a quarterback, who will face a ton of pressure being picked by that franchise, with a new staff, and following Montana, Young and Garcia. Good luck, Aaron or Alex.
Hey Seth, in your opinion, which nfl free agent do you think will get the biggest contract?
What is the one position that the Bills need to fill to get to be a playoff status team?
No question it's quarterback. Everything else is in place. Losman is a good prospect, but he has a lot riding on his shoulders. This is a team with no grace period. The Bills need to make the playoffs.
When all is said and done, who'll be looked at as the superior QB. Eli Manning or Chad P ?
Too early to tell. Obviously, Pennington is a better player now. Both players have contracts based on what their teams expect them to do, as opposed to what they've already done.
Is there any new news on the status of Ted Bruschi?
He was just released from the hospital, seems to be doing well. I can't imagine a guy playing after suffering a stroke, but we'll see.
What are the Broncos doing? They are letting go of Trevor Pryce and Reggie Hayward and brining in Warren? What am I missing?
Not much, AJ. Denver has struggled to get its act together with its defensive line for most of this century. The constant lack of pass rush has hurt them. That's why their switching to a 3-4. Better pass rush ops from their speedy linebackers. Plus it's cheaper salary-cap wise to keep more LBs than DLs.
I've read that Rex Grossman has been working with new Off Coord. Ron Turner every day for 90 min. Do you see Grossman as being the answer to the QB question in Chicago?
Based on where he was picked, and his potential, they have to give him every chance. He's a step forward. I mean, he's no Craig Krenzel, but ...
who would run a faster 40, you, Peter King or John Clayton?
Please, man. I'm 20 years younger than those two. Now, Around the Horn's Michael Smith might be a real challenge. But I got Peter and John beat.
Hey Seth, I'm a Dolphin fan here and am curious on your opinion with how they should handle there QB position. It looks like they will use the 2nd pick on a RB...but what to do about the QB is the big question?
They'll be looking, but after giving up a No. 2 for Feeley last year, I doubt they'll draft one high. But Saban and Co. will be on the lookout for the Tom Brady of this year's draft, a hungry guy who they can groom for a year without pressure.
Sorry, that's all I have time for. You guys sent 777 questions -- I'm impressed. Sorry I couldn't get to them all. Thanks and see you next time.
