Just 25 years old, Justine Henin decided she no longer could motivate herself emotionally to continue competing. Henin has been in a slump this spring, exacerbated by a nagging knee injury.
Henin leaves behind a wide-ranging legacy of excellence. She won every Grand Slam title but Wimbledon, including four French Opens, two U.S. Opens and the 2004 Australian Open. Henin has been ranked No. 1 for most of the past year-and-a-half.
