The Lakers came up short in their attempt to ruin the Celtics' first trip through the Western Conference, but where do the two flagship franchises stand in the big picture?

Bouncing back from a loss against the Pistons before Christmas, the Celtics knocked off the Lakers for their sixth win in a row and fourth in a row on the road swing. But that winning streak isn't even half as long as the league's hottest streak. The Blazers just kept winning, pushing their streak to 13 with a win against the 76ers on Dec. 30.
