Is Willie Mays the greatest baseball player of all time?

Who is baseball's greatest player?

Willie Mays, who just turned 80 years old, has a pretty good claim to be the best baseball player ever. He's one of only a few players with more than 600 career home runs; played amazing defense at the most important position in the outfield; and was by all accounts a terror on the basepaths. How does he stack up against some of baseball's other greats? Is he better than Babe Ruth or Barry Bonds?
