It might not be rivalry week but the feel of competition is in the air, as ESPN.com senior writer Pat Forde has revealed his red-hot college basketball rivalries for the 2009 season.

The battle for Tobacco Road -- an eight-mile stretch of pure love or utter hate from Duke to the University of North Carolina -- is one of the best in college basketball. Passion also runs high in Ohio, as Dayton and Xavier meet year after year for bragging rights. And out West, where Stanford and Cal extend the gridiron rivalry onto the hardwood.
