Are Mardy Gilyard and the Bearcats the Big East's best?

Despite a loss to Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl, the Cincinnati Bearcats have shown themselves to be the team to beat in the close-fought Big East.

The Bearcats ended the season ranked No. 17 in the nation and won the Big East title outright following a win over a struggling Syracuse squad. Still, they'll have no easy road to hoe this season; every team save two in the Big East had winning records in 2008.
