Is Magic Johnson the best player ever to sport the purple and gold?

This season marks 50 historic years in Los Angeles for the Lakers. With 45 playoff appearances, 24 trips to the NBA Finals and 10 rings, a debate over the best player to don the purple and gold is sure to be a star-studded affair worthy of a red carpet.

Is it Magic Johnson, who brought a flashy style of play that no one was used to seeing on the professional level? Is it Kobe Bryant, whose clutch jumpers continue to fall and whose defensive quickness will have you thinking twice about driving to the basket? And how can we forget about Jerry West? Literally, how can we forget? After all, it is his profile we see each and every day as part of the NBA logo.
