Are Sidney Crosby and the Penguins the favorite to repeat?

The National Hockey League's 2009-10 season is under way, and already the top teams seem to be separating from the pack.

Both the Penguins and Capitals are off to hot starts. Pittsburgh has eked out two gritty one-goal victories, while Washington has been on a scoring rampage, averaging five goals per game in its first two contests. In the West, Colorado is dominating opponents, winning 5-2 over the Sharks and 3-0 over the Canucks. Are the Avalanche for real this season?
